its depends on what kind of coin that you want to buy if the coins only tradeable on small exchange, thats was okay for me, as the exchange is good enough and didn't have any issue on deposit or withdrawal then i will sent it to my wallet as soon as possible,, but, mostly i use binance to trade mate, if you buy a token or coin in binance then trade in binance, if at bittrex then trade at bittrex, like that I did, so what I use is some markets like binance, bittrex or hittbtc |

It's certainly not a scam as it is the original chain developed by the ethereum. Ethereum was later hard forked from it's own chain for some improvements and to counter a huge hack of ethereum and make the hacked coins worthless. But a group of ethereum users and developers resisted it and stood together for the hackers (ethereum's version) and called themselves ethereum classic.
