141  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: March 08, 2018, 10:46:46 AM
Posting a pro-Bitcoin thread inside a Bitcoin related Forum doesn't seem to be an effective way of promoting Bitcoin. We are inside a Bitcoin forum and everybody is expected or at least understand what Bitcoin is, or they are here to learn how to use Bitcoin. If you want to promote Bitcoin effectively you must be sharing your knowledge with your friends so that they themselves can use or try to earn with Bitcoin. Showing positive feedback in a thread here won't increase Bitcoin users or even push the price up.
Well said, promoting bitcoin inside this forum is no use because those who visit this forum they must know some basic information about bitcoin and they will come to improve their knowledge. So promoting outside from this forum useful and it will attract more people like in social media or writing blogs about cryptocurrency etc.

The possibilities for promotion are many : tell your friends IRL , write on non-crypto forums and reddits, social networks , post videos on youtube , vimeo , etc.
142  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: March 08, 2018, 01:54:57 AM
Yes let us promote bitcoin and lets spread the good news of bitcoin.lets share our knowlegde about bitcoin to others so that many people will also change their life.Using social media  we can promote bitcoin in a fastest way and because bitcoin is the one cryptocurrency leading around the world, and when you promote bitcoin you can also help other people. We need to increase the level of Bitcoin even more, by giving something positive about Bitcoin.

We should suggest people also to be anonymous as much as possible, or at least to protect their funds with encryption.

Because the reason why BTC was made is to keep our money away from the gov's claws, which aims at robbing us with taxes and block our bank account for questionable reasons.
Their goal is to keep us in poverty , slavery and ignorance.

If they don't know you have money, or your coins are protected with encryption,  they can't take it from you
143  Economy / Economics / Soros is a crypto believer on: March 06, 2018, 10:45:04 PM
https://coinidol.com/george-soros-criticizes-bitcoin/

Soros bought a big share of Overstock which recently announced will change radically to become crypto-friendly.

Also,
Quote
Shares of Overstock went up over 200 percent in the last year after the company had announced plans to accept virtual coins in September.
not bad, huh?

Maybe he understood that every business that has to do with crypto is likely to make profit in the future , like Overstock did already.

IMO crypto is the future, and doesn't seem a bubble at all
144  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much BTC will go in 2018? on: March 06, 2018, 10:15:29 PM
what do  u think?
30k?
40k?
65k?

$25k or $30k is my estimate for this year

Next year around $50k
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see 20k+ again? on: March 06, 2018, 10:13:29 PM
(I'm all-in in Bitcoin for the record) I don't want to be a pessimist but I'm kinda going in to that direction.

We all know crypto bled quite bad the past week. Because of bunch of government issues, futures contacts, unconfirmed transactions and what not... We all also know that Bitcoin is neither the fastest nor the safest crpto currency out. The 3rd generation coins are way more in demand and people are in talks of the 4th generation. I'm wondering if BTC will ever see the light of day.

Tether deposited another 400 million USD to BTC, and it's said this is the reason BTC had an upward movement. However, my perspective is a bit blurred and I can't help myself but get more pessimistic about it.

When Bitcoin was around 18k, the only thing that was talked was whether it was the biggest bubble in history or not and (if it is) when it's going to burst. Now that it went up to 20k and went back down to 9k, it looks more of a bubble than not.

I'd like to hear what forum people say.

My estimate for this year is a peak at $25k and probably $30k , and $50 next year;
and no it's not a bubble nor a Ponzi, as this asset has an actual and important use for society and technology, it's not like the infamous Tulip that was useless and its value were not justified.

What do you mean by all-in?
You invested all your life savings in it?
It is discouraged, even if BTC will certainly go up.

You should invest what you can afford to lose, to avoid panics.
When the price drops, you should think that you can keep living even if you lose that money, and for that to happen you should have only invested less than 50% of your life savings.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there be bitcoin $ 20,000? on: March 05, 2018, 11:42:19 PM
Guys, do you think this price will be still relevant this year? Huh Smiley

Given the past trend , i guess we'll touch $30k this year and $50k the next year
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin hit 15000$ by the end of this month ? on: March 05, 2018, 07:51:22 PM
Bitcoin is slowly in the recovery state...
I think it will hit the 15000$ mark by the end of this month..
Is that so?

You should have these expectations over 1+ years period, not one month.

Because usually the temporary dumps last months, but rarely they last a few weeks.
So it takes months to recover.

Every year the BTC value is higher than the year before , and that's the only safe prediction to do for the future.
This trend will not change, as Bitcoin is becoming more and more accepted year by year.

But you can only profit from this if you Hold your coins for years , not even watching what's happening to the price month by month.

Be a HODLer  Cool
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin = $1 Million by 2020 on: March 05, 2018, 07:42:32 PM
John McAfee Bullish on Bitcoin Price Reaching $1 Million by 2020.
He wrote in Twitter: "When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017. BTC has accelerated much faster than my model assumptions. I now predict Bircoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong."

Can yo believe this? What are your own predictions?

If he wants to avoid having dinner with his dick he better contribute to Bitcoin rise then.
There's not so much time left Smiley

Honestly i think it takes at least 10 years from now to get to that kind of target.
Price growth was fast so far, but now it is less volatile than before and in the years to come it will be even less volatile.

I guess in the 2020 we will be at $50k-$80k range
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: DID YOU THINk BITCOIN CAN REACH 500K IN THE END OF THIS YEAR on: March 05, 2018, 07:32:35 PM
For my opinion will not can reach this price i can beilve i will pump till 30k . And i have to know Do you believe John McAfee is right about Bitcoin hitting $500,000 in 3 years?
It’s interesting that almost all existing analysis of cryptoassets are from the point of view of fundamentals (or lack thereof). It’s often useful to look at things quantitatively instead.

So here, what we really want to understand is the probability of bitcoin reaching $500,000. There are a few ways to do that.

My way is  we can assume a completely random process and take a “gambler’s ruin” perspective. What is the probability that a random process will hit $500,000 before it hits $0? Given that the price as of end 15 dec 2017 is about $23,000, we’d get $23.000/$500,000 = 5%.

By "completely random process" you mean it can drop to 0 with no recover?
I don't think so, as at this point Bitcoin has too much of a big user base in the world, that when the price drops significantly  , many people take advantage to buy low, and the price slowly recovers again.

So the whale dumps at this point cannot eliminate Bitcoin from the face of the Earth.
BTC is too popular by now
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $ 100,000 will be in 2018? on: March 04, 2018, 06:52:27 PM
Friends do you think whether the bitcoin of the $ 100,000 course in 2018 will reach. I ask your opinion to justify why you think so. My answer is, yes, I think that bitcoin will be worth or at least will affect this price, because the crypt is now in the growth phase, technology blockchain will be introduced everywhere in different industries.

$100,000 this year?
IMO it will take at least 4-5 years.
Maybe this year we can get to $25k - $30k .

It's best not to expect too much in little time.
So i would opt for just buying crypto and holding a few years, that will give you effortless profit ;
no need to be stressed and trade everyday.
151  Other / Off-topic / Can we be our own ISP ? on: March 04, 2018, 06:36:14 PM
In these times the information is controlled, free speech is difficult and mainstream media are the elite's puppets.

Lately net neutrality died as well , and someone is moving the first steps to counteract this: https://www.fastcompany.com/40509146/want-to-guarantee-net-neutrality-join-peer-to-peer-community-run-internet

I really hope projects like that become popular, but i have 2 questions:

- Those projects AFAIK are just about providing people a cheap connection to the existing Internet , right?
But how do they deal with censorship?
For example if U.S. blocks Bitcointalk , will you still be able to visit the forum from U.S.?
If at the end of the day your traffic must go though a centralized ISP to visit a website, censorship is still an issue

- What about if we build a totally new network, where websites/content can be hosted in the people's computers , and the visitors can visit those websites via direct P2P connection to the person who has the website.
This network would be an alternative to the Internet.
And Google monopoly would end, as the keyword-based searches can be provided directly by the software/browser which we use for connecting to this network.

Pretty much like Hostcoin , but with built-in search engine , and where the underlying physical layer is formed by our own LANs and WANs, not the ones owned by ISPs.

Would it be a successful project?
152  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: March 04, 2018, 03:41:45 AM
maybe it's better to promote bitcoin in the media or on the tv because more people will see it and they will know just what bitcoins mean in the world by saying they can properly deliver the bitcoin in the world for me the best way to promote bitcoin is media and news

you mean mainstream media , the gov puppets ?

they are playing the elite's game, they are paid to scare people about BTC.
I don't think they let you publish positive news, or if you're lucky they overprice their services 10x for you to do that.

I think we better go on Youtube or promotions on the streets, it's more cost-effective
(other than online communities )
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT'S TIME TO BUY BITCOIN ?? I SAY YESSSS on: March 04, 2018, 12:27:55 AM
Bitcoins has reached it lowest since the beginning of this year, and from all indications, this is just because of bad news. I believe this is the best time to buy Bitcoins and hopefully by the end of the year, it will be around 100,000. Buy Low and Sell high.

That fast??
I thought it would take 5-10 years for that milestone.

I'm curious to ask you why are you sure it will get there this year.

p.s. Yes, i think now it's time to buy, we are in a temporary low price Wink
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin for $1 Million !!! In ten years? on: March 04, 2018, 12:26:04 AM
Chart from 2014, when Bitcoin was $300, predicted price of $10k for today — Nov 22nd, 2017.

We're at $8,200.  (If we add Bitcoin Cash and Gold prices, we'll get close to $10k).

Next milestone on chart: $100k in summer 2021.   And next: $1M in 2027.

Cool  Grin

Then i think i'm not gonna sell my BTC until 2021 or even later.
Even if the price drops temporarily like now, those milestones will be finally reached
155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Reach $120,000 Billionaire Says YES! on: March 04, 2018, 12:23:44 AM
Will Bitcoin Reach $120,000 Billionaire Says YES!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O2rZLKxbXM

What do you think?

Yes definitely, roughly in 5-10 years.

But it also depends on us.
If we HODL for long-term ( years , not months ), Bitcoin price will go up even faster*

So let's spread the word about the HODL trading style .
If many people are HODLers, we can accelerate the BTC raise to $100k

*One of the reasons is: if nobody wants to sell it, the buyers are going to raise their offer more and more Smiley
156  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: March 04, 2018, 12:12:39 AM
Important: don't spread the propaganda only on Bitcoin forums and reddits , but on other communities as well.

Because the former is already full of crypto believers, there is little people to educate there.

If we bring lots of new people into crypto, we help the crypto ecosystem grow a lot.

Here is a forum collection where we could spread the word: https://www.quora.com/Which-are-best-forums-for-stock-market
157  Economy / Economics / Re: let us promote BITCOIN on: March 04, 2018, 12:08:13 AM
hi peepz, we all know the declining price of bitcoin today since the start of this year, so i have made this thread for you to post ONLY positive things about bitcoin on how it affects your daily lives, please do sights some of your personal encounter using bitcoin in buying online or on a physical store if there's one. you can also post how you earn bitcoin using this forum.

if you are to post negative things about bitcoin, i believe you should not be here in this thread, there are other threads that tackles the disadvantages of bitcoin so please spare this one.

i believe that this should be helpful for people who have no idea about bitcoin. including newbies in this forum. who knows, maybe some smerit giver will read your post if it deserves to be merited depending on how helpful and informative your post is. so good luck to us all guys.

EDITED: please do not post statements that you agree on why i created this thread, what we need is the practical use of bitcoin today, just to avoid spamming posts that are already posted above yours.

Wow i actually did that without reading this thread, because i am a genuine crypto believer and HODL believer.

I think we should spread the word about the Bitcoin revolution, which is absolutely not a bubble, it is the future and will finally disrupt the tiranny of the govs/banks ( they themselves are investing in BTC, funnily enough ).

Also, i suggest to teach the long-term HODL trading style and discourage daytrading, because the only strategy that gives profit and helps crypto is the first one, not daytrading.

We must also teach that the HODL strategy only works if people invest the money they can afford to lose, because if they invest too much and the price drops, they cannot resist the urge to sell to recover the losses.

158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are there currently Decentralized Exchanges? on: March 03, 2018, 11:57:46 PM
Thank you for your help! I opened an account on Binance and learned that I cannot convert fiat to crypto there. That is probably what is causing the most issues, is that I need to make my initial purchase using fiat, and KYC and fiat seem to go hand in hand.

Do you know if there is a DEX that accepts fiat?

Thanks again!

Use FIAT to buy some GPUs and mine crypto with them.
Then use that crypto on a DEX or Binance if you want.

Alternative: directly buy crypto anonymously from other users with cash ( meet them in person ).
Find these people via announcements on Localbitcoins, Paxful or various BTC forums/reddits

There is a DEX named Streamity that AFAIK has also a section similar to Localbitcoins, that lets users exchange directly FIAT for crypto with each other.
I don't know Streamity well though.
And anyway it's just like Localbitcoins and similar sites, nothing new AFAIK

About example DEX i know: Waves or Streamity
159  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will crypto exchanges be banned/taxed ? on: March 03, 2018, 11:53:57 PM
The govs don't want common people to make money or escape from their poverty, so they are trying to hinder the crypto ecosystem in general.

For example we hear about crypto exchanges to be banned in some countries, or be heavily taxed so that the govs take significant earnings without doing nothing.

"Regulation" after all is just an extorsion: if you , Bitstamp (for example) , don't give me a good part of your earnings, you can't operate.
And the gov is not going to give any service in return, they just take their slice of the pie for nothing.

And at the end of the day it is not Bitstamp the one who is losing money due to "regulation".
We are.
Because Bitstamp and all regulated exchanges will be raising their fees due to the taxes and we are the ones who must pay the gov to keep the exchange alive.

What can we do to avoid this issue?

The solution that is gaining popularity are decentralized exchanges like Waves or Streamity  ,
which are good for crypto-only trading.

But what about FIAT deposits?
How do "decentralized FIAT deposits" work , if they exist?

i can think of 2 solutions to this problem:

- Use FIAT to buy GPUs, mine coins with them, then use the mined coins to trade on DEX (decentralized exchange) platforms

- Buy crypto with FIAT directly from other people, that you can meet in forums or online announcements, Localbitcoins.com and similar sites

Well i know it's more "comfortable" to just do a bank transfer to an exchange's account , but this will have a cost for you: the gov will know what you are doing with that money, how many coins you bought , etc., so they may tax you because they think you are making profit.

While if you buy GPUs they cannot assume you are mining. You say you are just playing video games.
So your earnings are anonymous.
They don't even know you bought GPUs if you buy them at local shops with cash.

Being anonymous is worth the struggle even if it takes a bit of "discomfort" , as you are going to avoid a lot of nuasances.

The problem with this is cashing out, how are you going to do it? Or are you planning to never cash out? After all any maneuver you do with your coins in exchange for fiat will leave a trail someway or another, for example you could try to sell your coins for cash on localbitcoins with a face to face trade, but that is risky you could be mugged or you could be recorded doing this.

mugged ?
Well i hope you only do these exchanges in crowded places , not in a dead end in the suburbs.
And also you are not gonna exchange $1k in a row, but a few hundreds at a time.
That's what i would be doing.

You can be recorded, yes ( even though that's unlikely ).
But in order for you to be taxed for that cash you got from Localbitcoins, the police must break into your home and actually find that cash.
I would hide the grand part of my cash very well, better if outside of my house where nobody can find it.
So you can solve the cash out to FIAT problem

The real problem comes when you actually are spending your cash/coins for actual goods/services.
If you buy a Lamborghini with BTC/cash, they know you can afford it and they may bother you.

For now the only solution i can think of is to go to a crypto heaven. Brock Pierce is doing one AFAIK: https://steemit.com/blockchain/@eyegasm/puertopia-planting-a-cryptoseed-in-puerto-rico
Another crypto heaven is being built by an ex Paypal executive in the ocean, but i don't even remember the name of this project. I think he started an ICO for that.
In this way you don't even need to get cash, you directly spend coins.

Or go to a regular tax heaven with normal cash and spend it there. That's the classic solution that politicians and big guys like.
160  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do you plan to sell? on: March 03, 2018, 01:07:12 AM
What is your exit point? Where will you sell your coins? How much % of your stack will you sell?

Since BTC is the future and will make the f*ing banks fail, its value will raise more than you think : )

The recommended strategy is to
- invest something you can afford to lose: example if your life savings are $10k, you buy just $2k or $3k of BTC
- HODL and never when the BTC price drops, because the drops are temporary and after one year the price will pump again stronger than the year before
- after a few years ( not months) , when the BTC value will be multiplied , start selling gradually , not everything in a row

Why not sell everything in a row?
Because chances are BTC will keep gaining value, so you would miss a chance to earn even more in the years to follow.

So when you "exit", you do it slowly, maybe giving priority to recover your investment and get some ROI, but don't hurry.
Then you wait another year so that BTC grows even more, you sell another bit, and so on..
