I see nothing wrong joining a bounty with no need of sending the report like any signature campaign, since they will just hit your profile and see the last post of this person button and everything is black and white, but some are requiring report from their bounty hunter like posting the link of their post in social media to make sure the joiners are posting the right ads and medium for the project and to save time also in updating the spreadsheet.
