141  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: June 21, 2023, 04:23:03 AM
Day by day increase in prices of goods is making people's lives miserable. The goods which were earlier within the purchasing power of the people are now beyond the purchasing power of the people. A father from a middle class family knows how to manage his family. Apart from managing their own family, children's education expenses, parents' medicine expenses, a middle class family has to live a very difficult life. Cost of goods may not be a big issue for those who have very good monthly income but for a middle class government employee or officer it is a lot of concern. Once the price of a commodity increases, the price of the commodity never returns to its previous level. Everything was fine if the salary of every employee or official increased with the increase in the price of goods then there would be no impact on anyone in running a family.
If only governments were that much responsible to think about those who are living in hell due to the inflation and economic crisis, governments should try and earn enough revenue through different business models and exchanges of goods and stuff with other countries, making tourism easy and risk-free for the world so that more and more tourists come within the country which greatly increases the GDP of the country.

But unfortunately, most governments don't really care about all these things, they know that people from lower classes are suffering from all this, but they barely try and solve their issues, increasing wages can only be possible if the country produces enough revenue to sustain that.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: June 21, 2023, 01:54:19 AM
Even though Iceland will be playing against Portugal at their home stadium but it will be extremely difficult for Iceland to keep a clean sheet against Portugal today. The quality of the Portugal national football team have certainly improved tremendously in the past few years and I think even when Cristiano Ronaldo were to retire from international football, the current squad of Portugal players will still be able to perform at a high level. I think Portugal will be able to beat Iceland easily today.
50 minutes played in the game and Iceland didn't received a goal yet vs Portugal which are dominating the game. I doubt they will resist until the end of the game.
Meanwhile Bosnia are 1 goal behind of Luxembourg, that was quite surprising! Otherwise the other games are running as expected with the favorite team dominating and leading their matches.
Portugal were completely in control of this match with having 12 shorts on goal but still they were able to score their winner in 89th minute thanks to veteran Ronaldo which give winner to his team with this win now they have four consecutive wins in this event and not concede any goal which is impressive from their side now we will have next match after three months.

Bosnia lost their match at home which is their third defeat after having first win in their first game and Luxembourg were really at his best throughout this match after taking lead in just four minutes of the game and after this missed penalty was also big disappointment for them Luxembourg have just three shots on goal and these were enough for them to score two goals and have another win in this campaign.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: June 20, 2023, 03:14:54 PM
I believe that one of the main factors that makes gambling more widespread is that in recent years it has become really very accessible. I recently watched a video where a man addicted to gambling accused the casino that they released an application, because of which he did not even need to leave the house to place a bet. As a result, he lost everything. And earlier he had to go to the casino and perform some actions, and this contributed to the fact that he thought 10 times about whether he wanted to make this bet at all. And now any bet is a matter of two clicks in the application or on the website.
Lol, I feel pity for those people who blame the casino for making gambling more convenient and accessible once they lose money, they wouldn't praise them if they win a significant amount of money though, I believe it's one's own responsibility to take care of their gambling activities and their money and not to spend everything, casinos will obviously do everything they can to get more and more gamblers because they are running a business and gamblers are their customers.

Such people need to learn to accept defeat because it is not the casino that forced them to gamble, they only provide them the option and if they are reckless and can't gamble responsibly, it's not the casino's fault at all and they need to assess themselves and make the necessary changes.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 20, 2023, 10:22:21 AM
The last line shows how important it is to have a sustainable way to earn money so it makes sense not looking gambling profits as income.

I don't know why people think gambling as a steady source of income.  Are they for real or just fooling themselves because they are lazy to look for a real job?
It is popular among third-world countries for a reason. These countries suffer from poverty and every $ makes a big difference in their lifestyle, they don't fool themselves but look for ways to make extra cash by doing some online activities. The same is true for surveys of pay-per-click websites. I can't blame these users but as mentioned before this is not the proper way to look at gambling as a side income.

I am from a developing country (third-world) and I find people addicted to gambling making excuses that they are gambling to earn so that they won't be pressured to look for real jobs.  All they care about was the entertainment and peers having fun in gambling and often times spend way more than what they earn.  I do not know how they can call it a source of income when often than not they spend more money than earning.
I know a lot of people from that category living around me, they simply can't resist it. Such people start gambling casually only for fun or some maybe start directly to earn money, as time goes by, they start becoming addicted and trying to make it a way of earning money, and this thing starts when someday they become profitable, so they assume that they can do that every day ignoring the fact that it is gambling.

Some people even take loans only to gamble because they don't have a job and they become so lazy because of gambling that they don't even try to work on something else to earn some money, they take loans, lose the money at gambling, take a loan from somewhere else and repay the first one, and they continue doing this until they get totally stacked up with the interests from those loans.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 20, 2023, 05:40:39 AM
It will be interesting to see if Salah can actually win the European League competition with Liverpool. Because I think that is very much achievable for Liverpool. I also think that he is going to achieve some kind of individual thing in the Europa League. He generally plays in the Champions League where the competition is a lot more fearsome and intense. He generally performs really well in the Champions League. So I think it is needless to say that he is going to perform very well in the Europa League.

I am actually more interested to see if Liverpool can actually perform better in the English Premier League compared to what they did in the last season. I am expecting an improvement from them in their performance in the English Premier League.
Salah ability is no doubt in finishing but we're not going to say in a hurry that they will achieve it easily next season due to the many tough attempts to reach the final. Well all the other teams can surprise us that it's so sevilla beat manchester united this season and it shows that a small team that is not seeded can make their run stop.

It's a bit strange if Liverpool fail next season because they are a team that is quite strong at the moment. Salah can make achievements in the European league if he can bring Liverpool to win a trophy in the European league.
Liverpool was doing impressive but due to one poor decision they faced trouble and not able to have spot into top four which is surely concern for them with now they are having good targets for this season and things are looking better even nothing is predictable because now Premier League is going more than competitive league which needs toughest strategies and quality players right now we have top six teams at the same level which can bring interesting competitions for the fans with their performance.

Mohammad Salah is surely best in business but after exit of Sadio Mané we have some decline in his performance which is natural but hopefully now he will be also adjusted with new setup and things could be improved for him and his team for staying back into top ranks.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 20, 2023, 04:05:45 AM
Wondering how Dortmund is going to perform in the next season because they had their own policy to sell the players for years that's how they usually earn money. This business helped them to earn money by selling players like Haaland to Manchester City and now other players Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid while we know if Dortmund had both players in this season, by using a player like Haaland they could have much more chance to achieve the Bundesliga title, but they prefer to earn more money instead of this.
I don't think there is matter of worry about Borussia Dortmund future because mostly they make their way for the having better results into Bundesliga which is their trading, and they never try to won trophies because this is not in their target now they already sold their best player for this season Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid which bring good profit for them and now their agents are working on for having few youngster which will do good work for them in this season, and they will be able to have youngster in their squad which will helps them for development and then have again huge profit.

Lewandowski, Haaland and now Bellingham all are bought for this purpose with now having their life impressive into their dream clubs, hopefully things will be gone as like this for them, and they will collect huge funds with this way as well.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC > 1M ? on: June 20, 2023, 02:49:23 AM
Now that the big guys like Blackrock are moving into the space, a massive jump in price seems almost inevitable. If their ETF gets approved it will be a situation of the higher Bitcoin’s price goes the more money they’ll be able to take in on fees, which will act as a feedback loop as they accumulate everything they can buy using their own investor’s money.
This good news is really surprising and it's true that June will be bullish especially,
I'm sure Q3 Bitcoin will go to $ 50k first before another correction,
and 2024 will probably be to $ 65k after that 2025 Bitcoin will be more than $ 150k, hopefully it will happen.
We need to make assumptions based on the history of the market and also the current events in the mainstream world, do you really think with all the FUD, fear, panic selling, and bad news circulating all around the month of June can be bullish? There is only a week and a few days left and I don't see any signs of that, instead, the price keeps falling because we don't have a lot of positive things going on around cryptocurrency world lately.

So we are not about to see that happen anytime soon, we need to first get out of all these FUDs and bad news and exchanges getting sued, after that, we might see some positive price action going on, otherwise, it will only be like this for the whole year I'm afraid.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Meme Coins (Pepes project)? on: June 19, 2023, 05:29:18 AM
To be honest, from the past until now I have no interest in meme coins, because many meme coins don't last long even most of the people who invest in meme coins experience big losses. Moreover, the price movement of the meme coin is heavily influenced by the hype.
We're kinda opposite, back then I was kinda interested in Doge coin since it was like a popular meme back then and I thought that it would be a serious deal to buy that until I found out that there are so many meme coins flooding the market and I was like noping the hell out it already.

Considering that I am a long-term investor and I do have 9-5s and do not have the majority of the time to deal with my portfolio, it it just not worth it. I even attempted day trading back in the days and meh.
You are probably at the safer side at the moment if you are not having any bullshit coin in your portfolio, it is better to simply stick with the coins and tokens that have actual potential for growth in the future and not tokens that solely depend on community or celebrity hype to grow in value and without that they are just like dead fish in the ocean having no value or movement at all apart from the market movements that take them wherever it goes.

I always recommend people not investing in meme coins because it is not worth it and you will simply lose your investments even if you are investing the minimum allowed and buying the ones which you think might give you some returns because if they fail, you lose your money. It's just like gambling.
149  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 18, 2023, 08:23:33 AM
I like the "Buy" idea better than renting. Ok, hear me out, here's the plan. If you have the ability and situation to buy or build one for you, then go for it. But make sure you choose the one where you can live by yourself and also rent it to other people. That way, you will rent your own property to others to make money also living in that place rent-free, because you own that place.
This will not just give you a place to live, but also a place from where you can earn every month that you can use to pay off the loan. Also, when the loan payment is paid fully, if you wish to move to some place, you can rent your property and choose somewhere else with less rent than you are going to get from your property. This way you will be able to make profits and also live where ever you like.
I don't know how much this will make sense to other, but to me, it's a perfect plan. At least to me tho.
It's not as easy as you think, people don't live on rent because they want to but they do it because they have to since they can't afford to buy a property or get a loan that can be enough for them to buy a house or build one. Also, banks don't give out huge loans to just anyone that walks in with a loan application, they need some collateral, a good paying salary, and many other stuff, if you get through all those criterias, then you might get a loan that will still not be enough for you to build or get a luxury home that you can rent to get a lot of money in return.

Remember, you won't be able to pay off the loan you've taken from the bank only from the rent even if you rent the whole place, if you give half of it on rent and live yourself in the other half, you will barely get enough to cover the bills and everything of your own. If all these things were this easy, there would be no one living on rent anywhere in the world.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges on: June 17, 2023, 02:48:10 PM
While many would hastily recommend Coinbase, Binance, or even Kraken, I'd urge you to slow down and do research.

Consider the ethos of the crypto world - decentralization. Does entrusting your digital assets to a centralized entity align with this philosophy? I think not. Thus, my recommendation leans towards DEXs, like Uniswap, Kyber Network, or even 1inch. They provide you with the control, aligning with the very spirit of cryptocurrencies.

However, if you're insistent on centralized exchanges, my pick would be Binance - a good mix of security, regulatory compliance, and user experience. They do serve the biggest altcoin buffet, and they also have the essentials
People suggest centralized exchanges because they are more convenient, easy to use, has lower fees for trades because there is more liquidity available for every cryptocurrency they have listed and there are more traders as well. Apart from all these things, a centralized exchange also provides more features and tools to traders like charts and stuff which are not available on a decentralized exchange.

I totally understand that when someone is using a centralized exchange, they are actually giving custody of their assets to a centralized authority but if they are providing the best services, I don't see any harm in that unless someone stores very large sums of money in their exchange accounts which is never recommended.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: June 17, 2023, 05:16:31 AM
while your country plans to ban crypto trading but online gambling legal, you'll gonna to decide what to do with coins.  would you go play your coins to accumulate or just withdraw and wait for the government to change stance?  no other option.
Why the rush when I can lose my coins to gambling within the twinkle of an eye. The coins that I can't afford to lose, I don't not put it into gambling where the odds will be against me and the outcome unpredictable.
I'll be patient with the government. Keep my coins somewhere safe and hold. As long as my government wouldn't be able to tell who holds crypto and who doesn't, then I am fine.
That's the point, even if government has banned cryptocurrencies, it doesn't mean that cryptocurrencies have become worthless or the government would never change their mind, so one should obviously just keep their Bitcoins somewhere safe and wait for the future, by the time you remember that you have some Bitcoins stored somewhere a few years back and the price is over its previous all-time high at that moment.

Gambling away every single dime you have is not a good idea at all, no matter how much time does the market takes to go up again if it's down by the time your government bans it and you want to sell them which I wouldn't recommend at all. Holding is the best solution.
152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Please Explain This Bitcoin Trade on: June 17, 2023, 02:46:50 AM
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and reply.
When I trade FOREX, I can Buy or Sell, at the Market, and then end the trade whenever I want.
For example, let's say I Buy at $10. It increases to $10.5, $11.0, etc. I can get out of the trade whenever I want to. I don't want to get out of the trade because I believe the price will keep going up and up.
Is this possible when I buy Bitcoin in Coinbase?
Cryptocurrency exchanges operate differently than forex markets and exchanges I believe, I don't know much about forex since I've never traded forex, but I can tell you about cryptocurrency exchanges. When you buy a coin at a certain price, you can always place a sell order above the market price if you want to sell it at a certain price, if the price goes up and hits that target, your coins will be sold. You can do the same for buying as well.

If you buy a coin at $10, and then it's price increases to $10.5, you will have to manually place a sell order to sell it and you can't just do it with your previous buy order because that is not how spot market works, you will set your target price and sell it at that price manually.
153  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling is a choice. on: June 16, 2023, 05:18:15 PM
Op to talk is easy but reality is hard. We all know that gambling is choice but those rogues compel people to play those games with magic first gambler win. The way they mix those cards, stone and other objects for the game too is something else. Then among them one of them will play the game and the way he would play the game would be very easy that ordinary you would be thinking that it is not hard. And that is why they always allow you to win the first game and subsequent ones you will be losing all. Online games never attract but you go there by yourself. But those rogues attract you with their magic games.
Understanding that statement, casino most of the time gives first time gambler the feeling of winning, the victory that a person thinks that can be repeated over and over, only to find out that it's just a trick or just a beginners luck that will put you in the position that you will aiming to keep winning.

Casino loves to see that gambler will keep coming back, the more people they catered the more they potentially earn, it's  choice and most of the time gambler pick the wrong position.
It's not about casinos, it's about the scammers that scam people on the streets by convincing them to gamble with them, they trick them by showing the same game played by someone else who is actually a part of their team who manages to win and goes away happy, they also make the victims win the initial games so that they gain confidence and bet bigger thinking they will win again, but since they rig the games, they make them lose when victims have bet a high amount.

Such scammers are pretty good with their tricks and persuasive conversations that a person as long as they are standing with them won't even suspect that they are getting scammed, and they only realize it when the scammer is gone and they have already lost a significant amount to them. They can do nothing but regret after it has happened.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is right time for investment ? on: June 16, 2023, 08:08:30 AM
everytime bearish hits it's definitely right time for investment but the question is.
will the market gets worst or get better in the future, considering the current situation shows very fluctuative markets.
im afraid that if market get worst then our investment will be in vain and just gonna lost its value.
Well, your fear is reasonable because the cryptocurrency market is already pretty volatile and now when there are things circulating and cases going on centralized exchanges having the most liquidity in the market, I would also expect the market to have a dip any time even if it is already in a dip. So, someone who plans to buy should not buy all-in with everything they have as they can regret that later.

I would suggest doing DCA in such conditions, you don't buy with everything you have but buy in portions and store, buy every time the market dips, and have some stable coins as well so that if it falls again, you can buy some more. This is the best way of purchasing in such market conditions.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: June 16, 2023, 07:11:23 AM
@Sithara007 I totally agree with you and I felt that BCCI could have planned better and could have asked th player’s to prepare for this final but surprisingly there was no such directive from them and in the end team India lost another final. Lastly team India needs a new young dynamic captain who’s keen to play for the nation first and unless they get such a leader I doubt that they’ll win an ICC tournament anytime soon.
At this point, Kohli and his cronies such as Rohit control the team selection. This need to be changed. Rahul Dravid as the coach hasn't been able to do much against the senior players. There is no accountability within the Indian team and players are retained despite not performing for years on the trot. Players who doesn't have the support from this cabal, such as T Natarajan and Venkatesh Iyer are often overlooked for selection, while undeserving players are selected just because of their closeness to Kohli. Unless this system is changed, India is not going to win any of the ICC tournaments anytime soon.
With living into India you have better review about this all because I was thinking BCCI and selectors are having enough power to settle things but as you already describe senior players are having much influence on selection which is surely never been good for any team and India which is surely having enough pool of players with their domestic system is also providing them good support things like this surely not good because they need to have good backup on their bench for the long run strategy and many players are already under their system which can give them good results in red ball and white ball formats, but they are still facing issues like this mean it's long way to go for them to have team like Australia which is surely having greater system and backups even they also have failures and other problems, but there is no players power which have any impact on them and their system.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 04:58:54 AM
The aim of the Saudis will not be to make the league the most competitive, they need the attention from people I think as a country and football is a way for them to achieve it, that is why they are going after old players who they know people already like. It will be difficult for any league to match the competition in the english premier league, even other leagues that have known players has not been on the same competition level with the premier league, so this cannot be the goal of Saudia Arabia. Saudi Arabia have plans to host the world cup sometime in the future like Qatar did, they are doing all this to make their bid easier later.
Back to the main target from saudi to host 2030 world cup. That's why saudi was going so crazy in bringing so many great players to the club. it's caused by these players will help saudi to convince FIFA to give saudi a trust to be a host for 2030 world cup. I think that it's not a problem while at the same time saudi was increasing the popularity from its league as well. I hope that will come true.
It will be really hurt if saudi will not become a host for 2030 world cup. It's caused by billions of money already spent for that but i don't think saudi will care so much about that caused by that oil's money.
Recently we have good positive changes in this region with the UAE is doing amazing stuff for their positive reputation and Qatar's success in FIFA World Cup bring many opportunities for few countries in this region to have stuff like this even it's never been easy but as they have money and influence things can change for them right now Saudi targeting FIFA World Cup 2030 but most chances it's not going to happen for them but still if they will work with this momentum then surely things could be good for them in near future because recently they are investing huge funds for the development of sports and having good structure as well.

I believe players influence are not going to help them but their strong domestic setup and quality surely going to help them for having chances of big events in this country with most chances we can expect 2034 or 2038 world cup in this region again.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Improve Your Sports Betting Skills and Win More Bets? on: June 15, 2023, 05:26:20 PM
When I saw this topic how to get over it (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5455819.0), I wondered how can someone turn a $1,000 into $xxx, xxx amount through sports betting. I was aware that it can be done but what strategy or skills an individual needs to be able to do it? I went into browsing mode as I have done earlier and found out the skills needed to get to the peak of sports betting. Here are my five steps to make your sports betting profitable.
Turning $1000 to a huge amount of money is just by luck. Even if care is not taken and the punter increases his stakes and continue to bet, he may lose all the money won back to the gambling site.
That is exactly what happened to the guy who started that thread mentioned in the OP, he turned a small amount into a big one a lot of times but then lost it all in a single bet only for trying to double the amount, his last bet that I know was about $90k which he had made from only $4k, I don't really find that being wise in any way to spend such a huge amount of money in a single bet unless you are a millionaire and don't care about the money.

One can easily make a lot of bets with smaller amounts and keep getting profits even if they lose some of those bets but manage to win more and even if one wants to try and keep doubling the amount every time, they could do it with just $5k or maybe $10k after reaching $90k so that they can have multiple tries.
158  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much ,as you think ,is 1 bitcoin in 2025? on: June 15, 2023, 09:20:31 AM
In 2 years, we will see what will happen to Bitcoin. When Bitcoin reaches $60k in its last ATH, it could see it going up and past $60k. And if we're talking about 2 years later, all the highs we predict could happen even if that means Bitcoin will cross the $100k-$200k mark 2 years later.

So before everything starts, we can accumulate as much as we want. Maybe when the price goes above $60k, not many people can buy Bitcoin in large quantities. So if we can use the moment, we can prepare ourselves to have a lot of Bitcoins.

And if we can buy Bitcoin at a low price, we can make a big profit. So it's all up to us how we can have lots of Bitcoin.
Well, I don't really think that Bitcoin will hit $100k in only two years even if we enter the bull run next year, $100k seems to be a target far away at this moment, even the previous all-time high looks very far away for now but if all these FUD, bad news and stuff go away pretty soon and the price manages to recover back to $30k within a couple of months, we might see it going around $50k by the end of this year.

If Bitcoin reaches $60k+ before the end of 2024, we might see the price going above that if bull market doesn't go away soon and price starts crashing again after reaching near the previous all-time high, one thing is for sure, those who are accumulating Bitcoins right now will be in huge profits in the bull run.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: June 15, 2023, 07:45:52 AM
This is so on point.

Short hut precise way on how to breathe and how to check yourself whether if you are still capable or not to gamble. As a player, it is your responsibility to check on yourself because no one else would other than you. You should always assess whether you have enough budget allocation for the important things before allotting a portion in gambling. Otherwise, you'll end up messing your finances.

A player must also take a break and check if his mental capacity is enough to take another play and bet. Because if you will bet or play with a tired mind that can't think properly, it will be a recipe for disaster. You don't want to regret big time later on because of this. The same way with involving illegal drugs and liquors because it can affect your way of thinking and of course, the decision making skills that you have.
A fresh mind and a positive attitude are always important whenever you are going to do something because these two things along with some patience and effort can make you do things that you never might have expected yourself to do. Of course, I know that gambling is all about luck, but when you don't have these things, you are exposed to greater risks and you can lose everything you have.

When you have control and have your emotions under control, you won't bet carelessly when you start losing which is basically the reason why most people lose everything they have in a single gambling session, one must always stay calm and collected.
160  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: June 15, 2023, 06:32:26 AM
In my opinion, of course, it will be necessary to prohibit participation in the AI game if the probability of his winning is really 70% or more.  Or even if it is slightly above 50%, the consequences for the gambling industry will also be catastrophic.
Even now, even on our forum, signature campaign  managers write all the time that they are struggling with posts created by AI.  And sometimes they even give bonuses to those who accurately guess and recognize a post written by AI.  And it is absolutely right that such countermeasures are applied even on our forum.

Needless to say, all casinos are already seriously concerned about the use of AI in games and are looking for ways to block such players and other measures to counter AI in games on their platforms.
Most likely, this will lead to recognition and a complete ban on the use of AI in casino gambling.
Even we gamblers wouldn't want AI to invade the gambling business and ruin its essence of it because if that happens, it won't be fun anymore. Things should stay the way they are, they should improve but should completely change from one thing to another. Gambling is meant to be for humans and it should be done by humans as well, what's the fun in using an AI model that gambles for you even if you are winning?

But again, some people won't have the same mindset and they would think of doing anything only to get profit, but casino businesses will surely find a way to counter this attack if it happens in the future and I'm in favor of this and don't want AI to intervene in this area.
