141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nist5 Power Efficiency on: July 15, 2014, 01:20:47 AM
So I'm a miner and hopped on the nist5 bandwagon. I'm not sure who came up with the power numbers, but they appear to be wrong. Using a kill-a-watt meter my power usage has increased. One of my systems I have the meter hooked up to has 5x r9-280s. x11 - ~910w, x13 - ~910w, x15 - ~905w, nist5 - ~980w. I'm using the same clocks and power settings across all of those.

I'm currently using the sgminer build from the icebergcoin thread and getting around 12mhs per card on nist5. Is this what other people are getting?

I always though nist5 have lower energy usage then the rest. Did you increase the clock or something?

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth mining and with this rig? on: July 08, 2014, 11:58:56 AM
Hi all,

I have an IBM x336 Type 8837 eServer 1RU(recently gifted). It's a Xeon 3.0Ghz with a 4Gb RAM.
I'm wondering if it is worthwhile trying/attempting to do any type of mining with either BitCoin or a different coin? i.e. Litecoin, PrimeCoin, DodgeCoin etc.
As you can probably guess, it doesn't have a video card, so I would be cpu mining.

Would it be worthwhile to even attempt to do some mining with this machine? It's sitting there doing nothing at the moment.

Also, was looking around and came across a suggestion to use middlecoin.com. Has anyone used this site before, and if it is worth mining with the above, would it then be worth using this site?

Cheers,
Skimmer.

Yes, it is worth it if you mine CPU coin but be quick, it is going to go all GPU soon.

Prefer to keep the money spend on college and use the time to work on McDonald. Use the saving to start up bitcoin investment or business.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dolphin Coin - BTC dividend (guide) on: June 27, 2014, 09:28:03 AM
I entered BTC adress but haven't received BTC, yet.

Been a couple of days.

Any ideas?

You have to stake your coin and you can check your status here http://www.dolpshare.com/index.php/project/showdetail, normally the dev distribute about 0.1 BTC and you get a portion of it depending on how much interest you generated for that day.

You can check my dividend payout using above link and search my BTC address: 1ULyLrtoahcuBzTLDZf5Xd9QS6q5g9SG6

0.0001 before I switch to scrypt mining.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No ROI on future Mining, its a FACT! on: June 24, 2014, 12:14:52 PM
Is it realistic to expect a ROI of shares in scrypt miners?

A better question would be - what is a good $/KHS rate if I'm thinking of renting miner shares?

Wouldn't it be much more profitable to mine scrypt coins in a pool compared to mining BTC in a pool?

I assume you ask 3 question.

1) No
2) None
3) Yes, mining scrypt is more profitable because too many ASIC on BTC competing.

i have pointed 20ghz and updated my signature

is there anything else I can do to support this coin or earn more?

Do i need to leave my wallet open all the time?

You just need to open your wallet often, any uncollected interest will be accumulated until you open your wallet, so there is nothing to lose.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dolphin Coin - BTC dividend (guide) on: June 22, 2014, 11:58:12 AM
Original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=625466.0

I have already gotten more then 0.06 BTC from dividend just by putting my coin to stake

How to get Dolphin Coin?

1) Signature (more info in original thread)
Make sure you only have dolphin coin as a signature and nothing else, also remove your btc address in your profile.

2) Multipool mining (100 million dolphin coin distributed per day)
Go to this link http://www.dolppool.com and put in your dolphin address and you should see something like this. The payout would depends on your share submited (the more hash rate you have the higher your percentage you get)

sha256 (active)   stratum+tcp://www.dolppool.com:2560 -u DR7CqCw7oEeV5jUPNZCzGpRxZzgeMezxuX -p x

How to stake?
This part is easy, just open your wallet and it will stake automatically, just make sure your wallet is unlocked.

How to get BTC?
The BTC dividend that you get depends on how much interest (Dolp Share) you generated from staking your Dolphin Coin.

I have waited more then 30 hours how come my coin doesn't stake?
Because the Min stake age is 1 day, that means you cannot stake for the first 24 hour of your coin. You should be able to stake after 24-48 hours at random.
