i think you can download it to play with to test it out. you have to goto the supernet slack channel to request a test copy.

Wow, very nice software. when it will be live?

How hard would it be for ethereum to do this?
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many alter coins of nxt, wich will win in the futrue? on: September 03, 2015, 12:19:13 AM
seems like ripple is going to be dead in this space...
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone still think NXT is a scam? on: September 02, 2015, 10:32:08 PM
seems like nxt is the underdog in the 2.0 space...

quiet, calm, and moving along like a sturdy turtle.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is NXT decentralized? on: September 02, 2015, 10:12:27 PM
i store all my passwords / keys using a password program like keepass what is however encrypted, too, with a more simple password but still hard to guess  Cheesy

So I'm guessing you can't remember all of them. Do you store them somewhere in an encrypted file ? You see at that point there's really no difference to a "wallet.dat" anymore Smiley

keep in mind popular password savers are going to be a target for hackers as they know the mother load of passwords is going to reside there. one trojan keylogger and your done.... its best to always have a secondary device to give authorization. its much harder to comprise your phone + your desktop.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is NXT decentralized? on: September 02, 2015, 07:55:57 PM
upcoming account controls feature is coming on the next release along with anonymizing your account.

its one of the few coins if not the only with the ability to setup a Multi-factor authentication mechanism. Say you access your nxt account on your desktop, and now you want to send coins out. You cannot unless you authorize it with another account you have on your mobile phone. But you can use multiple accounts, say you and 3 other friends need to approve before the coins get spent.

Looks something like this:

You need approval by another account first. Unlike bitcoin with multi-signature, you would need to create a transaction info and then send it over via email/message to another person to sign it. Since nxt has built in messaging system, it will just show up in the other account.

if you want to test it out in testnet go here:

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will yubikeys work with NXT on: September 02, 2015, 07:39:40 PM
no... i dont believe so.

upcoming nxt feature is called "account controls" it lets you choose who or how many other accounts needs to say yes before spending any of your coins. that in effect is like a 2 factor auth.

say you have a main account on your desktop, now if u wanted to spend coins, you'd need another account which is accessed on your phone in order to spend.

currently the nxt core wallet is accessible via mobile phones too. soon to be release in the next update.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETHEREUM SCAM WARNING!! SCAM SCAM SCAM on: September 01, 2015, 07:48:21 PM
is anyone working on a clone yet? wouldn't the user code submitted to ethereum be used on a clone too? in effect making gas alot cheaper to execute a contract???
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Why I'm releasing a brainwallet cracker at DEFCON 23" on: September 01, 2015, 06:54:17 PM
it seems the best way to create a nxt brain wallet is by using a combination of data only you know. say phone numbers,  addresses, and chinese/japanese characters. Then mix it up with your own password. good luck trying to guess that and no way in hell would you forget it nor the need to write it down.

right now nxt has the ability to host bitcoin addresses via the multigateway, in effect giving nxt the ability to host your other coins with just one passphrase.

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: September 01, 2015, 06:44:39 PM
ETH will be cloned soon. They have no more funds. How could ethereum ever succeed? Ethereum doesn't have that same decentralized open source project spirit to it that BTC has. It's all on the original developers who will leave soon. Vitalik has already said he is leaving ETH if the price doesn't go up constantly.

What will ETH do if someone runs a new crowd fund to fork ethereum without the original premine? What if they raise $18,000,000 and make an ETH clone that is way better. ETH holders are dead and the new blockchain wins.

can you link us to where Vitalik said he's leaving ETH if it doesnt go up constantly?

152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Why I'm releasing a brainwallet cracker at DEFCON 23" on: September 01, 2015, 03:46:23 PM
NXT uses sha256() i believe. not sure, best to ask the nxt ppl.

regardless i think many people use simple passphrases and it gets cracked. especially if its all alphanumeric only. anyone know if this cracker that's been released that can crack 150+ passphrase if it was all alphabets? what if you used non-standard characters like chinese or russian???

i wonder how nxt is compared to ethereum? has anyone compared the two? aside from the price, nxt seems kinda cheap with all the development going on there.

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone still think NXT is a scam? on: August 31, 2015, 08:08:42 PM
I just bought some more NXT today, I really love the concept, so I`ll support it with my AVATAR and the profile text.

Good luck with building a better crypto-platform!

how much did you buy? might load up on some too. prices seem undervalued having that coin shuffling is coming out in a few months.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum VS Tau-Chain, which is better? on: August 31, 2015, 08:06:28 PM
Pardon me, what is Tau-Chain again? Ethereum has big community. Nobody knows Tau-Chain.

We are talking about BETTER, not more adapted. Maybe you should have a look at the technology, then you can see, that its is better.
We'll see, if adaption comes. Maybe not, but thats not the point.

What is better ?

In cryptocurrency world people determine what is better . huge community is a good indicator

is NXT considered a big community?
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did Siacoin really beat Storj to market with decentralized storage? on: August 31, 2015, 03:56:06 PM
i dont understand how the redundancy works. ok so say I upload 1TB worth of stuff. and i wanted it stored for 1+year... how much would that cost? and lets say I wanted to store it indefinitely and just pay a one time fee, wouldn't that just really bloat the blockchain and if i dont constantly pay it would get deleted. i dont see how these systems work if you stop paying all of a sudden or stop hosting other people's data.

either you keep paying or keep hosting on the network, or else you get your stuff deleted. i dont see how that is decentralized. as your data is still at the whims of your contribution to the system, making it centralized. the only thing is that your really just paying for redundancy.

what is a platform or system that stores data indefinitely? once you upload it, it can NEVER be deleted.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did Siacoin really beat Storj to market with decentralized storage? on: August 29, 2015, 03:39:12 AM
how is this compared to NXT's decentralized file storage system? anyone used both?
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What? Yall thought InstantDEX/SuperNET/BitcoinDark/NxT/jl777 were scams? on: August 28, 2015, 12:47:14 AM
nxt seems to be making moves... just needs some help on the marketing... Undecided

screenshots would be nice.
158  Economy / Service Discussion / 2015 - Best BTC mixing service? on: August 20, 2015, 07:11:35 PM
As of today, what's a good mixing service for BTC? I buy my coins from coinbase and once in awhile i sell them to my friends that doesn't want to deal with setting up on coinbase. Just to be safe, I don't know what they buy and don't care. But I heard reports that coinbase monitors where your coins go so I don't want to get in trouble if someone decides to buy stuff on the dark market.

Whats the best course of action? Mix my coins? or something else?
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT dying? on: August 18, 2015, 07:55:29 PM
NXT's biggest issue is marketing, and that shitty logo.

Ethereum had the better marketing, and had the bucks behind it.  *shrugs shoulders*.

Ethereum had lots of known players with lots of connections.  NXT had/has lots of anon's with few connections.  That is part of the problem with being anon.

nxt is taking more of the organic approach since there is no foundation or company behind it that's really pushing it forward. i guess you can look at it as it taking the approach of how the internet was back in the early days.

build it and people will just come.

Anybody else having problems getting the NXT server to start after they updated their Java? I haven't been able to open NXT for like a month now. I assumed some incompatibility issue - along with the launch of Ethereum - was the reason for the drastic price decline.

when you download the new nxt version make sure you do:

1. ./compile.sh
2. ./run.sh

Thats if your on linux. But as for Windows, best to just download the latest and run the new windows .exe installer.

I'm on Java 8.
