Why do developers not make airdrop for everyone who has an onion?
For example, as BTX. This distribution is more fair

yeah i love BTX, they are currently sending 5M (about 30% of the global supply) to everyone that holds more than .01 BTC, they are sending BTX to 5.2 MILLIONS addresses!  Pretty large distribution...  Every coin has its own way of distributing coins...

I've already seen some similar ICO, why are you different?

Its different because its not an ICO at all! lol  Please just read a bit more...

the airdrop amount HAS to be tied to one wallet to stop the account farmers. the airdropped amount is fixed in the coins structure. so, how do we come up with a fair distribution? just throw out coins to whoever is in line?

I might have a proposition.

I think the new weight system is a good idea, but just not set on the right people.

lets say they everything in the airdrop has a factor or 1x (for EVERYONE).  Then we do a table like this for all the coins that were not received in a airdrop:

  • 0-10k (1.2x)
  • 10k-20k (2x)
  • 20k-30k (3x)
  • 30k-50k (4x)
  • 50k+ (5x)

That way every one that buys ALOT would receives more airdrop (increasing their weight).

MODs are the one that have the biggest airdrop (because of their support) so even with a factor of 1x (every airdrop balance) they would still do quite a lot, like 3-5k per week even if they dont buy any.

Of course those numbers could be different and i would even say they should be voted by the community.  The main purpose of this is to provide a buying support, every coins that were bought will provide a support and it will also make the price go higher since people will have to buy more in order to get more.  That way even if everyone receives less coins, those buyers will make the price rise and everyone will be happy.

If you check carefully every large balance have ground by 300% in the last 3 months but their total value is worth less than 3 months ago, this is because theres no buyers.  Check all the 400 airdrop members and only a dozen have more than the airdrop amount!

At the end if all the coins get distributed and we dont have more buyers, we will all have alot of coins with no value.  I rather have less coins with buyers backing the price under me!

Community could even provide different scenarios and they could be voted.  Right now people complains because of the rules because they decided by the team, but if they rules were picked by the community wouldn't it be better?  (By the way bitcore team  did that to pick their distribution model for their airdrop)

What do you think?  I rather have 10k coins at 5$ than 30k at 1$

What do you think about this guys?

More or less fair the distribution dosen't matter is free money at the end of the day. Just have a curiosity about the new distribution %. If each airdrop is capped like 16th was at 350k onions and let's say a whale came in and buy 1 million onions and join the airdrop, how you'll pay him and the rest of the participants from only 350k onions? (maybe will never happen, but let's assume it will).

If that would happened then this guy will get a weight if around 1.2M so he would get around 7-8% of this, so yeah 75-85k onions per week. Getting most of the onions, but it would cost him as well 1M to get that share of the marketcap (supposing people would simply sell into him at market price, which wont happen).

I have added Cryptopia's ONION wallet address in joining airdrop....is that okay or do i need to download QT wallet?

this has been spoken about all day today. do not use a wallet on the exchange as they often move the coins about . you don't control the wallet so you can't stop it. you need your own wallet

So i downloaded QT wallet now...so do I need to keep wallet for 24/7 to receive coins during airdrop or do i need to do something else!!
please help!!

It doesn't need to be running to receive the airdrop, but if you keep it running you will get stakes from it (10% per year).

According to the new rules you shouldn't transfer Onions FROM your aidrop address in the 24 hours before the airdrop, but am I right that you are allowed to ADD onions until the last moment? Otherwise BTW nobody would buy onions on thursday any more...

Yes of course you are allowed to buy them, they just don't count to the airdrop anymore. (Only for the next weeks)

When exactly do the newly bought (and transferred to the airdrop address) onions stop to count for the airdrop? At which exact moment? 24 hours is a quite long period of time...

i would say around 9am est on thursday morning as it's about 9.30 est on friday morning that the airdrop starts

Thanks this is a precious information, i always had a hard time to guess when the snapshot was taken. Useful informations!

I have some Deeoonion into my Novaexchange wallet. But nova exchange Email me & i Found there website first page that:   https://novaexchange.com/news/
2017-10-30 12:09 - Intimation of closure of Novaexchange

Kindly note "Novaexchange" will have new owners and management effective April 2018, with major upgrades to the exchange to better handle scaling, stability and security.

For better management and security of customer funds we have decided to close down Novaexchange so that the users can withdraw all their funds with no participation/responsibility of action of the new management.

Preliminary plan:
2017-10-30 This information goes public, user registration closes, addcoin page closes, disabling deposits of ETC and ETH
2017-11-30 Deposits disabled for ALL coins, all users get level 3 verified account level
2017-12-15 ONE last deposit scan to take care of deposits made after 2017-11-30
2018-01-31 Email reminder to all registered users
2018-02-28 Trading engine stops, dice game stops, API stops
2018-03-31 Login stop, website replaced with information
2018-04-15 Support closes, all Novaexchange user data removed

So where can I move my coin? Deeponion has any online wallet? I don't feel comfortable with the desktop wallet.

If you don't feel comfortable with a desktop wallet you could use a paper wallet, if its only yo hold your coin there's nothing like it.  Just dont let your coins on the exchange...

It's weird how the coin is still holding it value while the exchange announced that they will be closing soon, a crash might happen as soon as people realize this.

its closing but not soon, on their site they gave a plan and the exchange is closing on 2018-03-31.  So still plenty of time to get out and they will even raise the withdraw so everyone can get out before that date...
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR ⚡ with DeepVault 🚀 Airdrop Updated 16 of 40 Rounds 🚀 on: October 29, 2017, 11:37:56 PM
Do you think airdrop distribution new rule is fair?
It will only favor the ones who got big ammounts on their wallets and the new members will receive tiny ammounts. I suggest to make lowcap distribution

Like, a week ago, the "low cap" was the reward you could get by being a Jr. member, it was around 400 Onions.
So, we should keep it as is, in other words, no matter how many Onions you have, you would still get around 300-400 Onions per week. It could be less, it all depends on the number of Airdropped. There's currently 250,000 onions distributed per week, and there's something like 300 airdroppers, so, setting a low-cap of 300 Onions for everybody would "lock-in" around 90,000 Onions distributed evenly, and then, the 160,000 remaining coins would be shared amongst big holders, proportionately to what they hold.
Btw, Numbers are just an example..
This seems more fair. Please do your best to discuss this with other mods. And with the help of you we can make this rule active in next airdrops

Yeah im still not convinced yet, lets see how it goes on next friday.  But i feel you are right and the part that worry me the most is the factor for "supporters" (2x-5x).  Someone who was 5x before was receiving about 4000-4500 coins per week (which is alot) but i feel that if they have 30k onions they will have a weight of about 70k and the next drop rate is about 8.8% * your weight, so i believe they will receives more now than before.   And the worst part i believe is they will receive more and more for the same "investment in time" (before it was pretty much the same every week and lowering every week when new members were accepted in the drop).  Ive heard they had a 3x cap instead of 5x, but not sure how this will get applied.

I was hoping for something more oriented to stimulate buying onions, the 1.2 factor is good, but i believe it should be only applied to balance - airdrop, up to now theres very few people that bought coins, you can validate within all the members you can count on a single hand who bought enough to go beyond 120% of their airdrop.

All we need to do is wait for next friday and we will see...

Glad we have a service like this back online, ive noticed that the balance doesn't match with the explorer.  Take xsinx for example he has 34k but your site shows 39k, ive check bykardinal and same thing as well.

BTW what happened to Deeponion.info site? It was very informative? Is it being reworked?

Hmmm you are right, the site is down and https://deeponion.org/stats.html is also dead (i believe it the same target just not sure).

Anyone know anything about this?

I actually came by to ask nearly the same thing.  More importantly to me, is when using a custom change address, how to verify the amount of Onion we have been airdropped so that we don't accidentally disqualify ourselves?  I'm assuming that I have just become lazy and not given it enough thought and it can be accomplished using the block explorer, any hints on accomplishing the extra bit of caution I want?

Just check into your unspent transactions (coin control inputs button in the send tab) and make sure all your coin is into the airdrop.  When you move coins set your custom on the airdrop address, that way you'll be safe.

Unless you move coins outside of your wallet (like on nova), then this is a different story and if you go below 90% of the airdrop received coins you could be in trouble.

Anyone have an idea why so many sell orders at 0.001btc/cvc on bittrex? Is there something a i don`t know? Big announcement coming?

Thats just someone that has 29k$ of civic that is a fool leaving his money on an exchange for a long period of time hoping to sell someday.  Ive bet he left that there and he set an price alarm on his mobile, lol!

Well think again, history have shown that this behavior will get punish, think about cryptsy, mintpal, mtgox, any others that i forget.

Exchange will ALL get hack one day or another and one day you will receive your mobile alert, will try to log on the exchange to learn that it closed 3 years ago!

So please, hold your own private key for god sake!

Focusing on anonymity will inevitably bring in the black market crowd, I'm not too concerned it's not like the devs officially support a darknet marketplace or anything. Privacy is far more important of and a bigger issue than drugs will every be though, it's good that ONION fights for it.

Deep and Dark debate will just go on, legal or illegal will still exist.  If developers have no intention of doing or facilitating dark things, then it cannot be illegal and they cannot be held responsible for wrongdoings done by others.

No one ever bought illegal goods or drugs with FIAT... Fact: they were all free before crypto ... lol Cheesy

Lol yeah fiat is so clean!  I still cant believe how they are trying to hit cryptos with that argument, this is so 2011! 99% of all blackmarket is fiat right now and you're affraid they will go blockchain!?

Fiat leaves no trace, these  guys dont withdraw at the bank with KYC lol.  If cash is traceless why the hell would they change that to a ledger, even if the transactions were all anonymous, the transaction are still recorded on a distributed database while fiat is not.  If someone someday figures out how to associate those transaction to people they would reveal all their drug deals lol.

So no, the best system from criminal is fiat and will always be!

Not sure why I am blacklisted? There was a problem with my signature which I fixed. Contacted one of the mods, but still nothing. Can I re-apply again or should I give up on this airdrop?

For the past week, You have 7 qualified posts on Sep23 . You need know the bursting posts rules. You can check the requirements on official forum. https://deeponion.org/community/
Just for your information, you can check by youself.

What exactly is considered "burst posting"? I only come on the forums maybe 1-2x a day myself.. so i tend to check all of my watched threads and browse for more and post a handful of times within a certain span, a couple times a day at most.  I have been accepted and all is good.. I just dont want to do anything that could possibly get me looked at wrongly..

You're burst posting if you post all your messages in a short period of time.  Like 10 messages in the same hour.   Try to come once or twice per day every day or once in a while.

For your information, I copy the link from our official forum about bursting posts required by Deeper. Please check
https://deeponion.org/community/threads/burst-posting.1459/#post-25334

Cool thank you, gigabyted explained it pretty well to me over the discord chat but this helps a lot too.

Is GigaByted part of the air drops? I believe that he's part of the rich list, but not part of the airdrop. I'm pretty sure. Someone like that should definitely be in.

Thanks mamichula for these kind word, yeah i'm in the airdrop and ive used to be in the top i bought around quite alot of them, but ive sold them (trying to get them cheaper)(and no i havent sell a single coin from the airdrop).

I'm trying to contribute as much as i can with my knowledge, trying to bring points (im more a technical guy than marketting), im on DO forum, discord and BCT (used to be on slack but not anymore).

Hey come see us on discord, nice active community over there as well.  Im nearly always online and ready to help others, hope to see you there!

Yeah well there will always be black market, even in KYC systems, they will just use any other mecanism like identity theft and others.  This argument have been used over and over by many "system advocate", check this very pertinent video about money properties: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KENUquseALw

That 17 minutes will be a good investment, believe me!

I don't know why, but i've got the feeling that the new automated airdrop process will be using those points! Smiley  Like having X points every week in order to stay in the drop! Just my guess...

I think exactly the same.
It would be much easier for the system itself to maintain people's activity as it is on their own forum and not on extern forum like BCT.
The best combination would be to be active on both forums and it would be measured using these points as more or less members who successfully participated in the airdrop had just like 5 posts on DO so they didn't support community in this way.

Yeah i would have expect such a feature to be a smart contract on their blockchain (Q2 2018 feature) and the DeepPoints would be an asset on the blockchain, making it immutable at the same time.  Rather that a offchain system based on a MySQL database on their server.  Hope noone will ever hack their way thru this...
