How do you use cudaminer through a proxy?

http://www.lpshowboat0099.com/Blog/how-to-mining-ltc-with-cudaminer-on-a-stratum-server/

this should help ya out

but with newest releases of cudaminer , you do not need a proxy to run.

Yes, I have tried that but it will not Work.

Anyone have an idea why it will not Work?
'

probably because the TCP server address is wrong or the server is down. Try connecting to another server or checking your syntax

I found out that port# was wrong, but it do not change that I still can not connect as you can see here:

I tried to use my home laptop with a bad nvidia videocard, but that is working as you can see here:

So I guess my syntax is ok.

Does anyone have any idea?

I'm have admin right on both computers and I disabled the firewall on the computer that can not connect.

a couple of pages back I tried to explain the -x proxy option. It supports http: https: and socks: proxies, as far as I determined. I did not write that code though, as it is inherited from the cpuminer project.

I'm sorry have mist that.

Tak skal du have.

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/33d4e306e1

Hvis du køber den brugt for $45
Så vil du kunne mine ca. $1
Der vil du cirka tabe $44 over et år.

Prøv at se dette eksempel.
http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/57664fa27f

Smiley

http://www.dlink.com/dk/da/support/product/dub-h7-7-port-usb-2-0-hub

How do I calculate if it is ROI possible?

How many kWh does RedFury, Bi*Fury and ASICMiner Block Erupter USB 330MH/s use or should I just calculate what a USB hub need?

I am noob to and here are my noob answers.

GPU mining on bitcoins is a loss because electricity cost is more then gain even if you do pool mining.  The other coins maybe possible still but you have to believe they will stay around for the long run like bitcoin is destined to do.

But what are the other coins? If f.exampel BTC=dollar, is LTC=cents or is LTC some other kind algorithm?
And can you use USB ASIC for both BTC and LTC and other coins?

USB ASIC mining is still profitable if you live in area with low cost electricity, maybe say 15 cents or lower per kWh.

In Denmark it is 40 cents per kWh. Crap

USB Fury still profitable even at higher cost electricity.

So mining in Denmark is not profitable. I guess.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Yet another n00b questions on: December 18, 2013, 08:40:33 AM
Hi everyone.

I'm a mining n00b, sorry about that. Smiley

But I'm very confused with all these differents coins. Well I know Bitcoin, but what are the other coins?

BitCoin, LitCoin, MiddelCoin, FrozenCoin ect.

Are any of these coins ROI possible? Do I have to see it as a long term investment?

Then I see alot of mining stuff. Blades, USB, BFL. But all of it is very expensive. Can't imagine what will happen in 5 years from now.

I have 2 Nvidia FX quadro 4600 - are they usefull? Can get more, but is there a motherboard that can handle more that 2 video cards.

Then there is all these USB Mining and it looks very nice.  Smiley But don't understand why Bi*Fury is being sold, why not just keep it for them self. Is that because they know it is not ROI possible?

ASICMiner Block Erupter USB is that not the same as Bi*Fury, RedFury, BlueFury etc?

Sorry for these stupid questions. Smiley

How do I use cudaminer through a proxy?

Well I think my problem is the proxy. At home I don't have any problem to run cudaminer, but at office I do and I know we use a proxy.

Can anyone help me?

Anyone?

google cpuminer proxy. or just follow that link.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63689.0

this requires that you use the getwork protocol, not stratum.  So your pool URL must start with a http:// , not stratum+tcp://

The link is cpumining. I use cudaminer. There is a parameter:
-x

but I do not know how syntax for this is.
