Looks like a block hit!!!

I was wondering too how these guys ran the company into the ground. inept/overbuilt and greedy investors likely. Not easy to run a business either..so understand that perspective as well. Would like to get my hands on some of the better miners though

Hi All. I'm planning to do a bitcoin daemon upgrade on the pool with some further performance optimisations both from the bitcoin daemon and the pool that speaks to it. As there appears to be a fair amount of hashrate on the pool at the moment I will hold off till I see the hashrate drop to a normal baseline level. On the other hand if this hashrate is the new baseline, I will simply perform the upgrade in 24 hours.
Additionally, whilst it may seem most unusual for me to say this, I would say that if you are considering renting hashrate to look for blocks now, it might be a good idea to wait for the next diff drop first, provided you can rent it at the same rate immediately after the diff drop.
Will let my rentals expire (just did actually) and not rent again until the diff change. Thanks,

sigh nevermind - I dont think anyone can understand my question. I will state it one more time (already have at least half a dozen times) I do not have any issue with people donating to a pool. I am simply asking why would they? Is there an incentive for them? do they get a lower fee? do they get part of the pool profits? I am not being hateful or spiteful - but quite a few here are - telling me to shut up, calling me a troll etc etc. again - was curious if there was some benefit to contributing or what not. Relax folks and mine on! also @phil easy brother! Again I have no issues - as for the renting of hash - it matters nothing to the pool does it? rented hash is the same as non-rented hash - the pool gets their cut when a block is found so rented hash is also to the pool operators benefit as much as it is to the benefit of those that rent it (well if a block is found, right?) Again - let's lose the anger folks! if my questions offend - realize this, they were not intended to - and ease up a bit. Smile too - you will live longer There are no direct benefits ($$/discounts/profits), except for the fact that the pool stays operational and we have a chance to hit a block. Now, with the new server, the pool is better than ever! CK has stated plenty of times in the past that the servers used were getting old and that he was not even breaking even for the past several years. There is no reason for CK alone to bear the cost/burden when we all use the services. Base on this, and faced with the fact the pool was shutting down, all that could chipped in and donated.

curious - why would the miners have to pay to have the pool open?
I think to answer Stryfe's question and to put the best construction on it we have to realize and admit that a solo pool is no longer profitable nor maintainable out of it's own resources. But a solo pool is still very beneficial to the entire community. We all should have a solo pool in our failover list. Solo mining for the individual is very difficult these days so having access to this solo pool is very beneficial to all. Agreed 100% Long live CKSOLO!

I think we need to hit a block or two, just to confirm that the new dashboard works properly.

Would be cool if we can see the total pool hashrate when in our user dashboard.
Done Refresh page. Sweet, I always like to see when i have a heft % of the pools hashrate..

My prediction is we will see a swing from the large operation to the smaller ones in time and again factors such as price weigh heavy into this prediction.
I really also want's to see this again, since i bought my first S1 ... The problem is, i think. How many Trillion $ can BTC handle without the big farms, securely ... no way to find a "middle way" i think. On top of this, there's just a "new Chinese pool" arrived after the halving with 7 EH : Lubian.com ... just another one of the Chinese mining Cartel, that's holds much more then 50% of Bitcoin Hashrate ... Any ways out to get Bitcoin finally in the hands of the majority of World population??? ... I didn't found one myself, only earned mistrust in trying to help the people i like most, to get to a financiall state where they can decide by there own what to do, ... next. However, Yes!!! Let's loose 50 or 80 EH of Chinese Hashrate and see if Bitcoin can survive !!! ... Lubian has been around for some time now, ~ 1-2 years. This pool was cooing up as "unknown" for sometime. I guess they finally graduated. Ok??? I've never seen this name before the halving. At least not at https://btc.com. But, when i look at the stats, it says it has 159 blocks in the last 6 month, so, maybe i'm blind . By the way nothing against China! But "Hash Monsters" started to scare me, a while ago. This pool was cooing up as "unknown" for sometime. I guess they finally graduated.

I think it has more to do with the price of BTC. If BTC climbs back to $20K, the big farms will still be pumping out the hash rate. BTC falls to 5K, they will shut down because there is no money in it.
Very true, forgot about that part of the equation.. increase in price will increase the hashrate..

With the next gen miners quality in question (at least for Bitmain), I do think we will see a gradual decrease in hashrate (temporarily at least). Only time will tell I guess.

Times like this we really do see how strong a community we have here wish I had saved some merits to hand out to everyone. Long live the SOLO pool! I had a few merits so gave them out to some of the fellas here...

That where our donations go?

Im in for 0.01 BTC as well.
As a thought, while we are all spit balling here, would it make sense to have 1% or so of the hashing power go towards a dev fee? That might be a nice way to have consistent coin to keep things going.

would you sell 2 of these? if so, how much shipped to northeast us? Thanks
|
|

I willing donate to the new CKSOLO server. Once we get everything hashed out... I can also run a server from my office. Maybe if a spare is needed, located in the Northeast of the US. I would cover the electrical costs for it. Just a thought
