141  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 454$ on: November 26, 2014, 11:45:12 AM

ps. from the other post, yes LBC, been at it for 1 1/2 years, atm I'm priced around 13% above Stamp.

How does the "bank transfer" method of selling work at LBC? Does a buyer send his money directly to your bank account, or does he send it to LBC to be held in escrow?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet recommendations - options which can hold other crypto currencies on: November 26, 2014, 12:17:27 AM
After you install Bitcoin's standard wallet it requires a massive download to get the blockchain, then it can take days to sync before you can use it. I use something called the multibit wallet because it's only a small download and syncs in minutes after installation. You can download it at this link.

https://multibit.org/

This stickied post says it's recommended by bitcoin.org. Click the quoted post link to read about it and other alternative wallets.

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So why is there no TurkeyCoin or ThanksGivingCoin yet ? on: November 25, 2014, 11:41:12 PM
There was someone attempting an IPO for a coin backed by something like black chickens, but it's not got the same pazzaz as a TurkeyCoin.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Mk&PR] NODEpromo - NodeCoin 2d gen Code build on NODE.JS! Marketing Thread on: November 25, 2014, 11:31:51 PM
I think more information needs to be released on forging.  Detailed information on forging is almost non-existent in online search and nobody is going to look through 300+ pages of forum to find that information.  If you are looking to hook more high quantity buyers release more information on forging, your #1 priority should be updating that website.  It looks too unprofessional for people to want to invest hundreds of dollars, but that's just my opinion.

+1

Links to crucial information like that should be right at the top of the OP. People quickly lose interest if they cannot immediately find what they want.
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 454$ on: November 25, 2014, 11:28:36 PM
Hope springs eternal.  I'm glad it didn't drop all the way back to the low 300s.  If it breaks 400 again this week I'll be happy.

There's about 3.5K worth of buy support on stamp. Hopefully it won't drop all the way back to the low 300s.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Losing faith on: November 25, 2014, 11:24:04 PM

Why would we ever see $500 again Huh

If that's what you think have you sold all your stash?
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: EBay Following In PayPal’s Footsteps As CEO Teases Bitcoin Integration on: November 25, 2014, 11:21:21 PM
Could you post a link to an article about this?
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market to continue another 12 months on: November 25, 2014, 01:44:59 PM
I will move 100% into altcoins.

That's a very aggressive position. But I understand that some people want to do it this way, and are counting on alts to grow much more than BTC. That said, I would only invest in trusted alts like BC, DRK, APEX and some old ones like LTC and PPC.

Why not?  Bitcoin is only 500K - 2 million users.  The internet had 3 million users in the late 1980s.   Jeffrey Robinson himself said Bitcoin is 250K users and is smaller than the frequent flyer club of Kuwaiti airlines.  PayPal is 150 million users.  Whatsapp has 600 million users.  Facebook has 1.2 billion users.

It seems like a credible theory that some alternate, better at promotion and user base expansion, could go viral and surpass Bitcoin's small userbase within months and people here will be asking themselves what just happened.

Totally agree - great perspective. imho, bitcoin squandered much of its past year of fame and someone else is (hopefully) going to pick up the ball and make crypto a smashing success.

Perhaps bitcoin's name has been tarred with the same brush as the silk road in some people's minds. It's unfortunate that a large number of people heard about bitcoin because of it's use on the silk road. Alternate crypto's are mostly free of that kind of bad publicity and that might be a factor that helps one surpass bitcoin.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc china depth is staggering on: November 25, 2014, 01:06:56 PM
Do they have fees to trade? If not, it's fake volume.

they have fees and I suspect they have fake volume too

They have a facility to gamble using borrowed money, or bitcoins. Would that affect the volume shown on exchanges?
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Syscoin a game changer? on: November 25, 2014, 03:18:33 AM
Was this the coin that had its IPO money held in escrow by the bloke in charge of mintpal? If it is I remember he did a runner with the money. Has the syscoin team got the money back now?

They got a court injunction against him for the assets last I read http://www.coindesk.com/uk-court-syscoin-injunction-moolah-750-btc/

Thanks, does anyone know if the bloke who used to be charge of mintpal is still on the run, and if he still has the syscoin IPO money?
151  Other / Archival / Re: RADON / PHASE 0 24HRS on: November 25, 2014, 02:18:37 AM

Each stake will be subject to a conversion fee.

How much is the conversion fee? Is it payable in bitcoin? Does the conversion fee pay to convert a testnet stake to a realnet stake?
152  Other / Archival / Re: RADON / PHASE 0 24HRS on: November 25, 2014, 02:07:09 AM
Virustotal gives a malware warning for the radon website. Perhaps it's a false positive but it will put security conscious people off trying this. If the dev made a download link available in the OP then people could download the client without having to risk visiting a website they are uncertain about.

154  Economy / Speculation / Re: speculation section is dead on: November 24, 2014, 08:45:43 PM
I noticed the speculation section had a lot less posts after bitcoin started crashing. I expect most regular posters are either trading or watching the charts like a hawk to see how things work out. They might have more time to start posting when bitcoin rallies above $400 again and they can relax.
155  Economy / Speculation / Re: ebay...LOL on: November 24, 2014, 07:36:24 PM
Centralised ebay is too dangerous, because with the click of a mouse they can destroy businesses and peoples income.

I think they might be able to freeze your account if someone pays you with a stolen credit card. I have not yet considered any similar situations involving paying with bitcoin. What reason could they freeze your account for?
156  Economy / Speculation / Re: when to invest? on: November 24, 2014, 12:32:54 AM
Last Christmas the price was $1000+ and now it's about $370. This might be as low as it gets or it might drop further. Ultimately it's a gamble but there is a god chance you will be buying on a low right now and can sell on a high in the future.
157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why would Satoshi not be dumping? on: November 23, 2014, 08:41:58 PM
Pretty sure he took a big dump at 1k and bought all he needed and still holds most of the Bitcoin reserve. Other bitcoin lotery winers aka early adopters like rpietila bough a damn castle, im sure most luckytime guys sold and bought shit already, but still hold a big % of bitcoin just in case it doesnt crash.

A couple of million would keep most people happy. I'd be surprised if Satoshi is not already a millionaire. He will probably hold any coins he has left and dump a few during each new rally, but not so many that he draws attention to himself.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ripple shot up.. why? on: November 23, 2014, 02:27:24 PM
A team from the Royal Bank of Scotand won a Deloitte competition by integrating ripple into their trading software as a demonstration.

http://www.finextra.com/news/fullstory.aspx?newsitemid=26704&topic=wholesale

A dutch bank, two US banks, and a German bank (Fidor) are integrating ripple into their networks too. Banks getting involved might have something to do with the price rise.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to partner with others to make a new/better cryptocurrency on: November 23, 2014, 12:16:54 AM
Why not join an existing coins team? I am sure there are a few that really could use the dev help and are not scams or BS coins.
I thought of that, but the ones I've seen don't share my views. So I decided to see who would be willing to come together to make a new one.

There are over 530 currencies already, surely one of them has a team that shares your views.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: 12th 3dMACD bar started GREEN! on: November 22, 2014, 11:51:09 PM
No more updates here?; p

The 13th 3dMACD bar probably started RED and ruined everything.
