141  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Police officer JUST SHOT in Ferguson!! on: September 30, 2014, 11:17:13 PM
The anger over the police shooting in Ferguson is totally justified.

Everyday cops kill innocent people for the most retarded of reasons in America and no one is ever held responsible for anything.

Multiple eyewitnesses said Mike Brown had his hands up and he said "Don't shoot" right before they killed him. That is murder.

Also, another thing they haven't mentioned in the media. A big reason new riots have started up in Ferguson lately is because someone torched the Mike Brown memorial that was in the street.

Yep that's right, in the middle of the night someone poured gas on the mike brown memorial and torched it.

Like that's not gonna piss some people off.

No it is not justified.  They are destroying their own city because of a black kid who robbed a store (which was also burned down "in protest") decided to get in a physical altercation with the officer.  I've read through tonnes of reports from both arguments, and as far as I'm concerned, the kids got in a fight with the cop. With the way things work these days in the USA, that's likely going to get you shot.

Now the report I read was that a candle was knocked over and it caught the memorial on fire.  Even if it did happen the way you say, what justification is it to shoot at officers and wreck the city even further?

These protesters are acting like animals!

Rioting is justified when the Cops get away with killing your children on a daily basis. Sure, some of the rioters were just looking to make some $$ but at the same time the anger is completely justified.

America needs some major protests, we're all far too complacent. Well I for one support rioting when the cops kill your fucking family.

You do realize that by doing what they are doing, they are just giving the police more ammo to militarize their police force even further. Brown was no innocent victim in all of this either, no matter what way you look at it.

I do agree that America needs some major protests, but leveling the cities and towns that you live in will accomplish nothing. Then again, I've read there is over 18 million homes sitting empty, many from all the foreclosures when the economy tanked. Guess people can just move on to the next empty city after they destroy the last one.

Maybe soon your chances to be orn not elected will depend of if you support BTC or not.

While Id like to think so, it really is only a very small percentage of people that support bitcoin and even a smaller percentage that truly believe in it.  In the grand scheme of things, think of them as the Green Party.  We all know how much support they have compared to the big parties in Canada, and the Green Party has been around for 30 years.

I'll be watching this one closely though.

Hands up, don't shoot

We could go back and forth all night.  Either way, where is the justification to loot and destroy the town you live in?

As I said, animals.

One of our local up and coming Mayoral candidates (Victoria, BC) is a Bitcoin (and DogeCoin) supporter!
As well as 'knowing' the future of fiat, shes also a very decent City candidate so tip her a few mBTC.

http://www.lisahelpsvictoria.ca/bitcoin

Cool!  I'd definitely considering throwing her my vote if I lived in Victoria.  I only hope more candidates here in the lower mainland and in Canada embrace bitcoin.  It would definitely be a big factor I'd look at with a potential vote.  That and the legalization of marijuana.

Canada has a big chance to jump on the bitcoin ride.
146  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why don't miners... on: September 30, 2014, 03:46:45 AM
If you are seeking profit from mining why don't you pay for you electric bill at the start of the year all you do is pay an avg consumption rate for your area for the whole year. Then you don't pay for your additional running cost of your mining hardware. They also offer discounts if you do pay the lump sum. They offered me a 33% discount on top of it.

Likely because a lot of companies don't offer it and/or people cant afford 1 lump sum payment.  Where I live, we can go on equal payments but we are responsible for whatever amount we are over.  It's pretty closely watched by the hydro company as well.  If you start go big in either direction, they'll change your equal payment amount.

FML literally

I lost it dicing, i bet 8BTC at 87% win chance to win 1 BTC and lost it..

Now i have no money to pay my bills/rent. Why did i do it..... WHYYYY!!!!!!

While I feel bad for your situation, I hope it's a good lesson learned.  Also, you could have lost a lot more, so count your blessings.  One must only gamble what they can afford to lose.  No matter how good the odds are, the longer you play, you will eventually lose it all.  Gambling can be fun, but it needs to be done in moderation.

Just take a look at Vegas, that place has been built on broken dreams and mortgage payments.

Who puts 8 BTC for gambling when he needs it for rent and what not.

Guess there is no point telling you now to only gamble what you can lose.

Could be showing signs of gambling addiction, and/or they got caught up in the moment. It happens.  Watched my buddy gamble away his condo, then his wife and kids.  It wasn't pretty.

Decided to start playing again last week.  After a couple days trying to figure out what the hell I had and was doing for professions and stuff, and a few days of running around killing things and missions, I'm already losing interest again.

Got another 3 weeks to go before it expires, maybe i'll find something in the game that interests me to continue playing, doubt it though.

Um, hi guys. Show of hands who still wants this coin to live?

I would imagine anyone that holds some of the coins, myself included, want the coin to live.

Crap. I totally forgot to get my payment. What do I do? Wait for next month or PM stunna?

I'd PM Stunna, as far as I can see the sig. campaign is now closed for anyone that isn't a staff member.

Here is a post from Stunna he posted September 16th, not sure if you've seen it.

It's a band, and they wrote the song in the video.  The other user was trying to figure out where he heard those lyrics he quoted, that's who they are.

and what is the spot availability quantity this time

Check the first post in the thread. Campaign is now closed to everyone except staff members by the look of it.

If I had a million dollars... Oh, if I had a million dollars.... If I had a million dollars, I'd be rich! I can't remember where I heard that tune, but if I had a million dollars, I'd buy a bunch of Bitcoin.

For senior members too?

I received an email earlier from sunxiaoxiao saying the slot was full.  I was asking about a Sr. member slot as well.  So it would appear full.

Yeah, after PrimeDice collapse there is really not enough campaign for all people to join. Every spots in new campaign will be taken instantaneously. No surprise there.

Yeah, I was with PrimDice up until he shut the door on Full Members. Wasn't posting much around that time so I didn't bother looking for a new sig. campaign. Now I'm back and at Sr. member looking  for a new home.  Seems like slim pickins nowadays.
