144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RVC] / RevoCoin / POS - POW / 10,000kh miner limit / LAUNCH 22-07 on: July 24, 2014, 08:57:07 PM
One question. How are PoS blocks being found?  Is it the pools or CEX?

Anyone with the wallet so the pools, c-cex and the dev (as he still has som coins from the ipo that haven't been claimed).

That brings another question - if some of the ipo coins have been paid out then those people have the wallets, right?

No, at least not for me. Paid out to the c-cex address.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RVC] / RevoCoin / POS - POW / 10,000kh miner limit / LAUNCH 22-07 on: July 24, 2014, 03:18:47 AM
There is exactly two parties who are capable of dumping this volume:

1) rvccoin - Held the premine. Tried to convince IPO'ers to PM escrow that they had received their IPO.
2) C-cex - If and only if the premine was stored on c-cex.

And seeing as there was no good reason to store the premine on c-cex, I think we can guess who did it.

Does anyone know who was listed at the bottom of the thread OP as the other devs?

i keep forgetting that, did the ipo people go with escrow? did anyone receive coins?

I received the ipo coins and I intend to keep them. (~ 45k) Don't know who dumped @c-cex Oo

Yes! I am waiting for this since the last LTBC episode! Smiley

Still not receiving coins on c-cex..

I got mine a minute ago. I was first mining with suprnova and switched after the initial hickups to maxminers. Both withdrawals just showed up.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PES] Pesa - Anonymous Coin - No Premine - Dynamic Interest - PoStr on: July 23, 2014, 12:20:15 PM
So, seems that Pesa is a Guarillacoin clone. I don't know if this Maxmillion McLaughlin (GitHub | G+ | Linkedin) is behind this, or if he just was a freelancer for the QT GUI changes (I'd like to hear from him), but everything I learned the past few days is negative.

Just the main things

1) Dev is unable to set up DNS/VPS server in order to bring the page online. Every script kiddie can do this in one hour. But not this dev.

Namecheap should be getting the nameservers pointed at my VPS as we speak. I'm hoping to have something up by morning.

2) Dev can't find a way to keep images online. I mean, images. Can be related to 1) obviously.

Thanks for catching this, hopefully this image host doesn't let the images expire.

3) Dev only writes sporadically. Could be a great way to swing trade Pesa, I don't say he does this, but who knows. New "sign of life" always pushes the price 100-200 sat.

4) Since this is a clone of Guarillacoin, in my opinion it's no coincidence that both roadmaps collide. If a further development is happening at all, it will most likely copy from Guarillacoin.

My humble opinion: Get out. This is most probably going to fail. Could be that there is still some speculation going on, but considering all the points above I wouldn't get involved with Pesa anymore.

Disclaimer: I don't own any Pesa anymore and I don't plan to "buy in cheap" by writing this.

Is it so difficult to write "huhu, still working on this and that", dev? Can't you spare one minute of your precious time, assuring people you still care about this project?

If this was a scam from the beginning, Kudos!, for setting up the post history or buying your bitcointalk account. I still wonder what people do for a quick buck, without scruples. Honestly, I couldn't live myself, doing this kind of stuff, even if it gets you some bitcoins.

Benefit of the doubt, you could have lost social skills and basic manners in a car accident or something... So, what's up? Write something, please. Let's start easy: How was your breakfast today?
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RVC] / RevoCoin / POS - POW / 10,000kh miner limit / LAUNCH 22-07 on: July 23, 2014, 03:07:23 AM
(not) surprisingly, after the "missing" blocks were pointed out the difficulty dropped

block 277 = diff 28
block 285 = diff 16

the 3 pool hash rate is very stable at around 1.3 GH, how do the diff change by 80%?

I checked the net hash right when the missing blocks were posted and there was about 800 MH/s not account for in the pools.
thx for the check, it seem there are something going on when i caught them
I believe ocminer is honest, not sure about others.

we will see with the block explorer where they are, i'm still monitoring the blocks and did not see anything suspicious anymore

thx, ocminer, for your time on the monitoring, it seems they see we caught them.
by the way, can you check the reward structure in the source? the op is very confusing..

Sure:

Code:
/ miner's coin base reward
int64_t GetProofOfWorkReward(int64_t nFees)
{
    int64_t nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;

         if(pindexBest->nHeight ==  1)
     {
         nSubsidy = 2500000 * COIN;
     }
         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 120)
     {
         nSubsidy = 0 * COIN;
     }
         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 720)
     {
         nSubsidy = 1000 * COIN;
     }
         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 1440)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;
     }
         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 2160)
     {
         nSubsidy = 1500 * COIN;
     }
         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 2880)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 3600)
     {
         nSubsidy = 10000 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 4320)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 5040)
     {
         nSubsidy = 2000 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 5760)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 6480)
     {
         nSubsidy = 2500 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 7200)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 7920)
     {
         nSubsidy = 3000 * COIN;
     }

         else if(pindexBest->nHeight < 8640)
     {
         nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;

Hm, what happened with

from the ANN? -.- And how do you plan to achieve changing the PoW timeframe after mining has started? (the market demand condition)

You can get them with

Debug Window -> getpeerinfo

Thanks!

When is the Windows QT wallet due? Strange to not have a wallet post launch.

There is no wallet until the PoW phase is over. Otherwise everyone could just solomine and the 10 MH/s limitation could not be enforced.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RVC] / RevoCoin / POS - POW / 10,000kh miner limit / LAUNCH 22-07 on: July 23, 2014, 12:31:17 AM
What does this maxminers.net warning mean?

Quote
You have exceeded the pools configured REVO warning threshold. Please initiate a transfer!

You can't transfer, duh!

It's just a (MPOS) security warning that pool operators have, so that not so many coins are on their servers. As long as you trust the operator a little bit you can ignore this and initiate a transfer, once you have the wallet. C-CEX (exchange) set RevoCoin up for trading, so you could send it there, but I tried this and it doesn't show up yet. Best strategy right now is probably waiting.

Block reward changes every 720 blocks? So just once for PoW right? Cheesy

720 * 1000 current block reward = 720,000

Total coins PoW: 25,000,000 - 50,000,000

Must be a huge reward after 720. Oo

makes me wonder which dev relies on image hosts and isn't able to reroute web traffic to another server. meh -.- I was hoping for this coin to go anywhere.

Pointless post, DEV said he just started work on website.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actively trying to convince myself that it's worth sitting on PES, because I hoped for a coin that was planned with a long term vision in mind. Could be, that this is still the case. But there are little things, that bug me.

Like not having the homepage up with the ANN. Not setting up a replacement subdomain for a few days. No intensive communication within the first day of launch. I know this is status quo with all the other cr**oins, but for Pesa one would think, that the dev (team?) cares about communication and reacts within a short time frame. Especially a few hours after launch.

I'm still hoping for this to change, maybe the dev just doesn't care about that marketing stuff, but then (please) provide further technical specs. For example I'd like to know more about smart contract integration. How much of this is already developed? What's the concept? I just want questions answered.

This is how whales are made. Buying from miners that are selling for a marginal profit
