141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [REWARD] Find The Cold Storage Wallets Of MtGox Before Supposed Theft on: March 02, 2014, 03:50:27 AM
I thought some had already been found:

The 50,000 output is still there, unspent.
https://blockchain.info/address/1P3S1grZYmcqYDuaEDVDYobJ5Fx85E9fE9

The 40,000 output is still there, unspent.

From this info: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/the-ghost-in-the-machine-at-mtgox/#.UxKqIl65K3V

How do we get any better proof than that?
142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 02, 2014, 03:44:26 AM
this is false hope OP, pls stop it

This isn't false hope. This is me trying to understand what Mark meant by saying those words.

143  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] Crime Scene Investigation, Case #MG744 on: March 02, 2014, 03:38:21 AM
This raises the question, who is lying?

In the Gox leaked crisis plan, it stated they had 2,000 Bitcoins to their name. This means either the document was false, Mark or an employee had lied in the document in an attempt to hide the funds or the firm have lost the private keys for the wallets rendering them nothing more than eye candy.

We are not claiming they didn't lose some coins legitimately to the malleability bug but there is no way that 500,000 coins could have been stolen. Even the planets worst auditor wouldn't have missed such a large amount of Bitcoins disappearing from the companies reserve.

Could this be an attempt to walk away with stashed Bitcoins or has the company been running on lies after finding out their wallets were missing funds and/or they lost the private keys.

This is exactly what i have been saying and everyone just calls me names and stuff.
If you watch the video: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493858.0
He says he has 'identified the problem' and is 'working on it'
What else could that mean other than - they screwed up their wallets/keys and are trying to fix it now.

Great work you guys are doing. If we can prove they still have the coins then something surely can be done.
144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 01, 2014, 01:04:58 PM
Anyway.... so who wants the prize for explaining why Gox would be "working on" fixing some kind of problem after having 750,000 BTC stolen ?

What - they "identified the problem" that allowed someone to steal ALL their coins and now they are fixing it and then they will do a little merry dance and everything will be fine again?!!!

NO. Obviously the "problem" is something to do with their cold storage. What else could it be?

Come on, please tell me.

That is just plain wrong.
146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 01, 2014, 12:53:44 PM
Can anyone explain:
Why would he NOT say they got stolen if they in fact did?

So far there is 1 place that says 'stolen' - that is a 'more or less legit' document.

a good reason to not say they were stolen is if he is the one that stole them. if no one finds them then he will be content to "find" them all by his self.

instead of speculating, a team of blockchain investigators should scrub the blockchain and find the funds, once the funds are found Mark will say: "oh, there they are, I forgot about that" the cryptocurrency economy is saved the, and  system will have protected itself.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492776.0

Possible yes, but unlikely I would say. Why would he ruin his career and get threatened my various mafias across the globe, so he can steal some coins, when he could just keep the exchange going and make millions per month anyway? Doesn't make sense.

No. Much more likely he wrote some sloppy code to fix the malleability issue and accidentally corrupted his wallets. Now he's buying time to fix them.

148  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Important. Gox, have not filed for bankruptcy on: March 01, 2014, 12:10:32 PM
They are NOT bankrupt.

They have NOT made a statement saying that coins got stolen

This is so f**ing hyped-up it's unbelievable.

TO SUMMARISE:

1) Malleability Bug
2) Attempt to Fix Bug
3) Possible Hacking Attempt - no-one really knows
4) Crisis Document that Mark says is 'more or less legit' i.e. NOT 100% TRUE
5) Gox files for protection so they can attempt to get company back on track
6) Mark says in regard to the crisis - "we have identified the problem and we are working on it"

THESE ARE ALL FACTS - everything else IS SPECULATION

And they were insolvent as I and many claimed....all the naysayers can suck it.

Thing is - I am trying to get an intellectual oppinion on what has been said and what hasn't.
If people just want to do name-calling, please just read another thread or something.
154  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: https://btc-e.com/ Maintenance on: March 01, 2014, 10:59:41 AM
They did announce this but I have to say it's very crappy to show a blank screen - just like Gox!!!! Idiots

Hmmm.. fully functional: https://localbitcoins.com/
155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 01, 2014, 10:57:27 AM
Please reread what i said.

So you can't explain that then. Thought so.
It doesn't make any logical sense for them to NOT say outright that coins were stolen. So far no-one has actually said that. Just rumours and the 'more or less' legit document.
Sorry but when a bank get's robbed, they don't say "The money may have been removed from the bank" AND "we found the problem and we are working on it" They would say clearly "we got robbed"

Why WOULDN'T a company say that on TV - because it's not true and they know it.
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Support a Bailout for (MT)Gox.com on: March 01, 2014, 10:54:15 AM
Good idea.
Anyway when Marks fixes his accidentally modded wallets, the new re-launched Gox won't need bailing out.
157  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 01, 2014, 10:46:39 AM
Man, i know you are lost your coins, i did as well, but stop be delusional with emotional swings. That wont give your coins back!
There is no news other then bancropcy protection filled in japan.
With such thread you can make even more damage then already is, think about it. You have a hope, good for you, but keep it personal and private!

OK I was waiting for that kind of response.
But can you explain this:

If it is 100% true that the coins were hacked and stolen. Why wouldn't he and his lawyers just come right out and state that as fact.
They haven't.

Instead he says there is a problem and they are working on it.

How can you explain that?

Also if you read the Transcript of the conference they said:

"*DJ Mt. Gox Lawyer: Missing Bitcoin May Have Been Withdrawn Through System"
WHAT THEY ARE NOT SURE?

158  Economy / Service Discussion / [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 01, 2014, 09:59:10 AM
Mark Karpeles has admitted in the recent Press Conference that he has "identified the problem" with the cold storage and they are "working on this"!

AMAZING!!!!

"We identified the problem, we are working on this"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m42s

"We are working on it"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m24s

Neither of these comments can be applied in any way to coins that have been stolen.

The blockchain also shows that coins sent to Gox HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN. See this thread:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493511.0

If ALL his coins had been stolen, he would not be 'identifying' any problem and 'working on it'. He would be crying at home - he would have nothing to 'work on'. His business would be deader than a dead horse with no hope of ever recovering.
THE COINS HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN

Thanks to theshazbot for finding this.
159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: what does mark kareles mean that "we have identified the problem and are working on: March 01, 2014, 09:54:29 AM
YEEEESSS!!!!! THIS IS ASTRONOMICAL NEWS!!!!!

HE SAID IT TWICE - at the beginning he says:

"We are working on it"

LATER HE SAYS

"We have identified the problem, we are working on this"

THERE YOU HAVE IT.
He must have either:

1) Lost the keys to the cold storage
2) Maybe when they were modding their entire blockchain, they accidently modded their actual wallets too.

Either way - they are "WORKING ON THIS"

Spoken like a true pro.

MY PREDICTION: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493735.0
IS GOING TO BE TRUE!!!!! HA HA HA HA HAAaaaaaaaa...

160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WoW I've found my coins! on: March 01, 2014, 09:20:52 AM
Well, yes. But how does that show they haven't been stolen?
Someone could have stolen them and just left them in that wallet right?
