Mark Karpeles has admitted in the recent Press Conference that he has "identified the problem" with the cold storage and they are "working on this"!

AMAZING!!!!

"We identified the problem, we are working on this"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m42s

"We are working on it"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI06KXMPwBA&t=0m24s

Neither of these comments can be applied in any way to coins that have been stolen.

The blockchain also shows that coins sent to Gox HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN. See this thread:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493511.0

If ALL his coins had been stolen, he would not be 'identifying' any problem and 'working on it'. He would be crying at home - he would have nothing to 'work on'. His business would be deader than a dead horse with no hope of ever recovering.
THE COINS HAVE NOT BEEN STOLEN

Thanks to theshazbot for finding this.

Man, i know you are lost your coins, i did as well, but stop be delusional with emotional swings. That wont give your coins back!
There is no news other then bancropcy protection filled in japan.
With such thread you can make even more damage then already is, think about it. You have a hope, good for you, but keep it personal and private!

OK I was waiting for that kind of response.
But can you explain this:

If it is 100% true that the coins were hacked and stolen. Why wouldn't he and his lawyers just come right out and state that as fact.
They haven't.

Instead he says there is a problem and they are working on it.

How can you explain that?

Also if you read the Transcript of the conference they said:

"*DJ Mt. Gox Lawyer: Missing Bitcoin May Have Been Withdrawn Through System"
WHAT THEY ARE NOT SURE?

Please reread what i said.

So you can't explain that then. Thought so.
It doesn't make any logical sense for them to NOT say outright that coins were stolen. So far no-one has actually said that. Just rumours and the 'more or less' legit document.
Sorry but when a bank get's robbed, they don't say "The money may have been removed from the bank" AND "we found the problem and we are working on it" They would say clearly "we got robbed"

Why WOULDN'T a company say that on TV - because it's not true and they know it.

Thing is - I am trying to get an intellectual oppinion on what has been said and what hasn't.
If people just want to do name-calling, please just read another thread or something.

Can anyone explain:
Why would he NOT say they got stolen if they in fact did?

So far there is 1 place that says 'stolen' - that is a 'more or less legit' document.

a good reason to not say they were stolen is if he is the one that stole them. if no one finds them then he will be content to "find" them all by his self.

instead of speculating, a team of blockchain investigators should scrub the blockchain and find the funds, once the funds are found Mark will say: "oh, there they are, I forgot about that" the cryptocurrency economy is saved the, and  system will have protected itself.

Possible yes, but unlikely I would say. Why would he ruin his career and get threatened my various mafias across the globe, so he can steal some coins, when he could just keep the exchange going and make millions per month anyway? Doesn't make sense.

No. Much more likely he wrote some sloppy code to fix the malleability issue and accidentally corrupted his wallets. Now he's buying time to fix them.

Gradually one by one people will realise their coins are gone, they won't be getting them back.
It will take a month or two until the last penny finally drops.

Anyway.... so who wants the prize for explaining why Gox would be "working on" fixing some kind of problem after having 750,000 BTC stolen ?

What - they "identified the problem" that allowed someone to steal ALL their coins and now they are fixing it and then they will do a little merry dance and everything will be fine again?!!!

NO. Obviously the "problem" is something to do with their cold storage. What else could it be?

Come on, please tell me.

Okay, you are right. Mark will save and recover cold storage and you will get your coins back.
Feeling better?

Mark Karpeles has admitted in the recent Press Conference that he has "identified the problem" with the cold storage and they are "working on this"!
During the time when MtGox was in operation but with all withdrawals suspended, did Karpeles not repeatedly state that he had identified the problem, was working on it and that withdrawals would be available again soon?
