You will need to use a PPS pool for this type of mining
Not necessarily. A PPLNS pool, with an N longer than 2 days, would be fine as long as he is consistent in his 13 hours per day schedule. His daily average would be 13THs, or so, instead of 26.

Slush is probably the only pool NOT to mine on in this way. From what I understand Slush has a very small N for their PPLNS in the range of hours. I could be wrong though since I don't mine on that pool.
Most any other pool should be fine though as your 13 hours a day will be your daily average.

Yeah, but it's fun to watch it go up.

Hello, I purchased the $60 Gekko Newpac. I'm stuck on the step in the user manual when trying to enter "cgminer.exe-gekko-newpac-freq100" as the url. The software simply doesn't accept that as valid. Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you in advance
Look at the top post of this thread for proper syntax. You need some spaces in there.

You need to post GPU questions in the altcoin section. This is the Bitcoin only section.

That sounds pretty good. I wouldn't go over 750Mhz though, per sidehacks suggestion.

This is on windows10?
Uh, no. That's on his Pi 4. With the latest cgminer I was only getting about 500+ Gh..
On the 85f build I was getting 736Ghs on P/L 4 at 562.5Mhz. Not too bad actually. That was on Win7.
|
|
|
I recall it running 800-900GH when I last had it running, I just don't have the batch file anymore. I do know it was running on cgminer 4.11.1 7f04144 at the time. Still yes, was very temperamental on windows 10.
That's not in the list of CGMiners supporting the R606. Did you get a special build? The one that worked best for me on Win7 was a62385f, if I remember right. Never got to 900Ghs though.

By "windowx" I assume you mean Windblows 10. I'm pretty sure everyone abandoned that mess finally and went to the Pi 4.
I would set it to Power Level 4 at 550Mzh and let CGMiner tune it to whatever it will do and let it go. It will be less than 750Ghs, I'm pretty sure.
Good Luck

so my psu should be here Thursday - I have 2 of the R606's and I will be running them both on the pi - is there any issues and/or tricks to running them both? do I have to run two instances of the cgminer? or does the one instance pick up both?
One instance will detect and mine with multiple miners.

So what you're saying, in a thread about USB-powered products designed by a guy who's also currently working on lithium battery projects including both chargers and voltage boosters, is that it'd be awful handy if someone made a tiny USB-in USB-out UPS with up to, say, 3A handling to fully power a Pi 4?
Hm. Might be worth looking into.
Running low on project ideas? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Would be a nice compliment to your product line.

Probably has a weaker chip than the others. CGMiner tunes each device for its own best performance.
|
|
|
I guess it depends on if you only think about yourself, or if you consider there are others involved also ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Well, I guess its the end users job to worry about themselves first. It's your job to worry about the rest of us. I appreciate how seriously you take your responsibility. Thanks!

I got the Platinum which drove up the price.

problem with those is the sound and the fact that these sit on my desk. any suggestions one that isn't loud?
Uh, no. PC P/S's are very quiet now. Mine has a switch on it that only turns on the fan when a certain temp is reached, it has never kicked on. When I did run the fan it was silent. The Pi 4 fan is much more noisy. Edit: I got the 650 Watt version of this one. Newegg takes Bitcoin. https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-focus-plus-550-platinum-ssr-550px-550w/p/N82E16817151193

Get an ATX P/S. Then you can easily add the 500 Watt device whenever Sidehack gets around to building it. I wouldn't waste time with those small Power Supplies anyway. Just isn't worth it.
|
|
|
I wonder if that was the problem the whole time? Maybe that fan is on the bad side and drawing more current than it should?
Anyway, glad your up and running finally.

|
|
Do they still work one at a time?
|
|
|
Well, try
The "--gekko-noboost" and "--gekko-lowboost" options.
And the USB 2.0 port on the Pi.
Something to do while you wait on the new GS Hub.

I agree. A standard format would be very helpful and speed up things in most cases.
