141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in 2014 (Estimate) on: December 18, 2013, 06:44:09 AM
If in fact your prediction is correct it sounds like something that could be by design allowing Gov's and whales to buy and hoard it all.
Excuse my ignorance with this question but wouldn't that much coin in the hands of ppl like that be able to greatly control it? ...and if they can control it then this makes it the same as fiat, is this correct?

They CAN'T control it.  All they can do is hoard it.  I mean, if it's going to replace fiat the govt needs to deal in some kind of currency, right?  And if they buy, the price will shoot up, and then their balls will be in our hands.

I am not sure if people are too emotionally and personal-ideologically invested in cryptocurrency to see the simple truth: What has been made can be broken. One way or another.

Your infinite belief in the almighty power of crypto seems some what slanted.

I don't believe its power is infinite.  I believe that it might not work out.  It's the HOW that I can't see.  Even if it's banned by every single government I doubt that would stop it.  The only thing that comes to mind is total energy cost to maintain the system, but then we've also got proof of stake should proof of work end up too costly...
144  Economy / Speculation / I feel bad for Chinese sellers right now on: December 17, 2013, 05:38:19 AM
If China takes the final step and actually bans buying BTC, the off-market price for them in China will go through the roof.  Big market for smuggling BTC to China soon.  Gonna be a lot of people kicking themselves.
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: lol @ "buying and holding is the best strategy" on: December 17, 2013, 05:18:48 AM
Some people are gonna get fucked so badly in the coming days/weeks.

I'd argue that the people who are gonna get fucked are the ones that sold.  The longer the price stays low, the more people that will get fucked.  Why?  While the price drops and hangs out around $400, demand is still increasing.  Fiat is still slowly turning to garbage, the number of shops accepting Bitcoin is still increasing.  The increase of supply is overpowering the increase of demand in terms of rate at the moment because people are panicking, but the longer this happens, the sharper the upswing will be when the turnaround happens, the higher it will go, and the more people who will be left behind again.
146  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the Chinese buy Bitcoin now? on: December 17, 2013, 04:49:47 AM
Bitcoin is super easy to smuggle (lol you can even send a paper wallet).  Getting it into the country will not be a problem, and once it's in, if people trade BTC for goods directly instead of selling it for fiat it should spread fast.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest all my money into QRK Coin on: December 13, 2013, 11:50:44 AM
You recently got out of QRK, like 2 weeks ago Smiley  yup i thought so, too early, but don't worry about it you can still enter again now.

Of course nobody would advise you put all your money in crypto let alone one currency. However QRK is not going to crash, since it is not in a bubble, it is now just coming up to fair price and over the long term will go much higher. That is my prediction here, let's revisit in 6months to 1 year to see who was correct.

My argument was better than yours simply because the facts are on my side.  I would say it is you that have not come up with a decent arguement nor reason QRK Is not as good a coin as the ones you say you admire. DOGE not a bad coin, it is really no different to any other coin released without innovation. The thing against doge over coins without innovatoin before it is that there are enough coins on exchanges with no innovation. Having said that i am noticing this coin is starting to gain a lot more traction than i would have expected and some offers of 0.1 BTC per million seems insane but if DOGE turns out to be the next QRK you can bet this will be slammed as a scam even though it is merely a coin reacting to market forces.

I am not trying to get to you, i am simply saying that what you state is not essentially the truth. I am pointing out the facts to you and you say that is not a good enough argument for you. I'm sorry that's the case however lets hope more objective people when reading this thread now and in the future feel differently.

You do not address any of my points in any logical fashion.  You keep bringing up DOGE for some reason even though I haven't said much about it.  I've been addressing your "points" one by one, debunking each.  All you've been saying is that I'm mad because I don't own QRK, which is a topic that is completely irrelevant to the issue of QRK being a good investment or not, and claim to be showing me "facts" when you have yet to shove a single one under my nose.  I'm not sure you can even do that without talking about DOGE and how much QRK I own.

There's really not much else for me to say other than ... idk ... go to school?  You don't seem to understand the basics of even informal logical discourse.  You'd do yourself a big favor by taking Logic/Philosophy 101.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest all my money into QRK Coin on: December 13, 2013, 04:34:22 AM
You are always lurking around looking to take a shot at QRK, you agenda is obvious as i say everytime you show up. You don't have any QRK and are jealous. Don't let this cloud your judgement, buy some now whilst it is still cheap....yes that's right it is going to be a lot more this time next year. Sell some shitty DOGE coin to mad people that are parting with BTC for it, then sink that all into QRK, this time next year you will be thanking me.

What makes you think doge is so good? tell me now all the innovation and great things about it that pushed you into having it on your avatar?

You have seen THE FACTS... the distribution of QRK is no worse than LTC PPC NMC and they have had years for the market to distribute these coins.

Don't hide behind your vocabulary just come out and scream and cry you were not there to mine qrk and either were not there when qrk was unknown and cheap on the market or just sadly didn't see it's true value when it was at 37 Smiley  Get it all out of your system then carry on and mine doge, if that goes to 29 cents then you can face the next wave of trolls telling you how six months later it is a scam coin, nothing new, poor distribution, only shills own it. Of course they would have some grounds since doge have ZERO innovation but still they will only really be crying because they don't have any like you are now. If they were the proud owners of 50million DOGE they would be out celebrating and having a good time, not here crying about doge being a shitclone.

If you had 500,000 QRK even 2000QRK  now you would not be in every QRK thread saying it's a scam - that is A FACT

What coin would you advise any investors to look at right now out of interest??  will you stick around to face them if it does not work out?

QRK is a great investement, but of course only for 10% -20% look to others digi , cgb, mec, ppc, ltc,  then some gambling ones   sex, red, tix adt  , net .....

I would say to everyone hold some QRK but of course there are other opportunities. Who knows what will get the biggest returns, but most coins on established exchanges will rise. I don't see many more clone coins ever being added. This has nearly killed cryptsy and they have risen to where they are by adding some old shitclones. They are there now but i doubt they will add anything that shows no new innovation now...why would they?

More ad hom drivel.  Very little of this supports you or QRK.  Is it really so hard to come up with a decent argument?  Let me humor you.  I recently got out of QRK because I think it's going to crash in the next month.  I don't hate it by any means, I just don't see it as a smart investment right now.  So of course when someone comes up asking if they should dump all their money into QRK, I say no because I think this person is going to lose his shirt.  As for those "facts" you're talking about, they have a disclaimer right on them saying that they may not be accurate.

About DOGE.  Really, I think YOU'VE talked about DOGE more than I have at this point (See? I can use fallacies too!).  Are you sure you aren't projecting a bit?  Do you really want me to justify putting it in my avatar?  I have it in my avatar because I think it's fun!  That's really all there is to it.  If people want to come in and trash DOGE they can go right ahead because I have no illusions about what DOGE is.  It's just a fun coin that might make you some money.  I'm never going to tell someone x coin is a sure thing because that's actually really irresponsible and wrong.  NONE of this is a sure thing and telling someone that a coin is *ahem* "going to be a lot more this time next year" is just plain reckless.

About exchanges though.  This is actually an interesting point.  A well-functioning exchange with a large number of altcoins and volume has yet to be made.  Bter is alright but volume is low.  Sounds like a hot market.

Really though you're one of the best trolls I've ever seen.  You almost got to me.  Almost.

Wow you are really butthurt about missing QRK Sad  - i hope you get on the next coin to go mainstream else we'll be hearing your crying endlessly on this board.

It really does seem like the loudest QRK supporters just throw around ad hominems all the time :|

If you did manage to get this set up, it'd be a huge risk for students to invest in.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why QUARK is so hot, so expensive? Read it and think? on: December 12, 2013, 04:27:19 PM
It is common sense my friend, who else would be crying about it?? you think QRK holders are crying that it has reached fair value?

In life you're either a QRK holder or you're not a QRK holder. If you are a QRK holder and annoyed it has reached fair value then seek medical attention.

Consider the full minting and total number of coins, and it is fair value against any coin.  Yes there are coins that i consider better however QRK was undervalued for months it is only reaching fair value it is not overvalued. Bill noticed this and recommended it as an investment, simple as that. I like your command of the english language and you're obviously a reasonably smart person. However you are wrong to single out QRK as being overvalued, it will increase in line with other coins or at an accelerated rate due to having a lot more media attention now and lots of services in the pipeline. There is an exchange coming for QRK directly to USD, have you seen the QRK site directly to amazon and ebay vouchers?? All of this can not be taken back now, QRK was undervalued because nobody much knew about it, this had changed you will not be able to moan and cry this into reversal.  Your motive is obvious, you are new and have missed this boat. You have doge and datacoin in your avatar, they could turn out to be wise buys, data especially however they are not guaranteed to be a better investment now than QRK. Doge may never get to an exchange, promoting this coin and causing people to possibly buy any now or waste hash on it could be seen as a scam or risky investment.

You have to realise, never again will a coin sit there for nothing for months on end. QRK does not have 10's of billions of coins and it has been rock solid since it started.

There are charts showing the distribution of QRK is no worse than LTC, PPC and NMC, the top 100 wallets own about the same amount. Are they all scam coins?  consider that QRK has been out far less time than the others and it shows you that the market has distributed QRK rather well given the time frame.  If you watched the market you would see whales that still hold QRK dumping it 500k at a time near 11c. This is what the market does well it shakes out whales on major dipps and encourages buys as it goes up again.

First, get your (irrelevant) facts straight.  I've been here since 2011 and in crypto since 2010.  I'm not new to this system by any means.

Second, even IF we magically can assume that all people putting up arguments against QRK don't have any QRK, it's still a logical fallacy to imply that someone's motives are a reason to ignore their argument.  Congratulations, it's still a garbage, irrelevant, illogical argument.

QRK was undervalued for months it is only reaching fair value it is not overvalued.
What gave QRK its intrinsic value at the time?  What about it did you and other investors see that nobody else saw?  What made it different, better from other cryptos back then?  Only if you can answer these questions can you make the claim that it was undervalued.

There are charts showing the distribution of QRK is no worse than LTC
Where?
Edit (Thanks Meebo): http://www.quarkcoins.com/quarkcoin-distribution.html
Alright.  I'm not going to attack this because it's hosted on Quark webspace.  This, however, does not prove anything.  There are actually no charts you could make that prove that Quark is evenly distributed because there's no way to know how many people own how many wallets, so there really IS no evidence that QRK is distributed well.  There can't ever be.

Doge may never get to an exchange, promoting this coin and causing people to possibly buy any now or waste hash on it could be seen as a scam or risky investment.
DOGE is already on an exchange and I specifically tell people that DOGE is high risk if they ask for my opinion on it.

Finally, fallacies aren't in a domain of English so much as they are in a domain of logic.

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why QUARK is so hot, so expensive? Read it and think? on: December 12, 2013, 08:08:27 AM
I truly respect the LOGIC... but do you truly believe the "initial instamine" will have anything to do with the future Bids and Asks?

I believe that the technically astute friends of this community need to start coming to grips with the FACT that once these coins enter the Market it all comes down to the Bid and the Ask. I mean... people always mention mining incentives and profitability... don't you realize that there were miners, for example, making profit selling BTC at $200, while others that don't even know what mining is are selling those same coins at $1000???

I don't think it will because the public is uninformed.  If they were aware of the risks involved in holding a currency like this it probably would.  I'm not arguing that the coin appears to have a high market cap right now.  It clearly does, and there's clearly money to be made, but I think that if you plan to make some money on QRK you are making a very risky investment when there are less risky, higher reward options out there with better long-term benefits to the crypto community than QRK.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why QUARK is so hot, so expensive? Read it and think? on: December 12, 2013, 06:48:54 AM
THE ONLY PEOPLE CRYING ABOUT QRK ARE THOSE THAT DON'T HAVE QRK.

You and many many other QRK supporters keep spouting this fallacy like it actually discredits other arguments.  This is an informal fallacy called "appeal to motive" that you built on top of your other formal fallacy "People who cry about QRK must not have QRK".  An appeal to motive built on top of an affirmation of the consequent (which is a fallacy of the argument "People who don't have QRK must be crying," which isn't even a valid argument in the first place!).  Your second paragraph is an ad populum reversal fallacy, and I have yet to see any evidence of the QRK market actually being distributed after the initial instamine (If you have some, please show me!).
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why QUARK is so hot, so expensive? Read it and think? on: December 11, 2013, 11:50:55 PM
Quark is mined 99%
Worldcoin is mined 13%

Quark is percentually mined 7.6x bigger than Worldcoin.

And current  market capitalization of Quark is 2.3x bigger than marketcap of Worldcoin.

What is undervaluated/overvaluated now?
Which coin price will be more influenced by miners dumping in the future?

It doesn't matter if new money dumps in Quark because all the money is in the hands of old investors.  It's THEM you should be worried about.  Even if new money dumps WDC it won't crash nearly as hard as if old money dumps QRK.

I love to aggressively protect peoples freedom .

We are helping people,

these fat girlfriendless fucks are playing WOW and getting horny about the possibility that the NSA might recruit them .

Then they come here an tell me they are going to attack this community that is trying to free itself from corporate communist slavery .

What do you expect ?

I am just being honest .

It's one thing to argue with facts and references.  It's another entirely to throw ad hominems and other fallacies around and act like these are the reasons you shouldn't believe your opponents.  It makes you look bad and doesn't bring smart money to your side.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the next World coin or Quark coin? on: December 11, 2013, 03:12:18 PM
It's definitely DOGE

+1.  Kraken is a really solid exchange that deserves more use and if you could make an app half as good as the site I'd be extremely impressed.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DataCoin vs ElephantCoin vs Bitcoin for storing data. on: December 11, 2013, 10:18:39 AM
Afaik, Datacoin is the only one where the main service is data storage, and that's the actual value of the coin.  Data storage.  So the coin actually has intrinsic value even if there are no payment adopters because it's spendable within its own network.
