Congrats HMY on weathering the storm of FUD from the DCM devs. I'd just like you to know that they turned out to be crooks. They tanked the coin (yesterday it was selling at 200 satoshi, from the IPO offer of 10,000 satoshi). They locked the ANN thread twice. They tried to sensor concerned investors. They never responded to PMs. They closed down their website, and basically ran away with 22 BTC each. A lot of fake promises and no real development. They've moved on to scamming others with new coins. Stay away from that piece of shit. Stay away from XBC (2 of their devs were devs for DCM), and just stay away from anything associated with those assholes. Their names will be associated as SCAMMERS forever. Good luck with everything here. You guys seem to have an active and real legit dev here.

Okk thank you for this little update, really appreciate !! When do you think the team will be ready to work again on XBC ? Hope its soon because we need momentum before we hit mintpal if not, xbc will die like lot of other coins :/ where is seriouscoin ? Summer vacation? Thank you again I've just updated the message on the XBC forums to reflect current developments. Regarding work on XBC, I've been working several hours a day on the project with Wallenstein as the web side is our area. Regarding the actual wallet developments, we didn't want to proceed with things whilst other admins were away. Everything needs full agreement. In regards to Seriouscoins. He needed some time away from things. Basically the last couple of months with the highs and lows of XBC and DCM really took its toll on him - he was complaining of not having seen any sunlight for several weeks, so basically his main priority is to take a step back, disengage and then come back with his batteries fully charged. I'm sure that you will agree that a Seriouscoins that is 'running on empty' is no use whatsoever - and that's why he needs a bit of time to refuel. @poornamelessme - the new forums that I'm creating will have a dedicated section for DCM (I've also been talking with Patrick at Vericoin and it'll have a dedicated Vericoin section too - with more coins to come). The idea behind this is that we want to attract all crypto enthusiasts who can then float between the various forums. What's the point of having DCM there? They killed that coin. Took down the site, locked the thread. And ran away with the IPO funds. There are no more backers for that coin. All of us that were there got hosed. |

Being that 2 of the assistants over there are devs with you guys, I think you guys are fucked too. Sorry to say.

Alright....at this point I'm down right pissed the fuck off. Protect the investors from catastrophic losses? What the fuck is the definition of catastrophic? I think we're at that point now. What happens with those coins? Does MP keep the staked coins?
They don't stake. OK, I wasn't for sure. I know with some POS coins, some of the exchanges actually give you the staked coins. Others stake it but you don't receive it. Is the exchange wallet a different format then the normal wallet? |

Will the wallet stake if the wallet.dat is in cold storage?
It looks like mine staked while in cold storage. Already earned 115 XC from POS....not bad! I don't get stake when the coins sit on Mintpal, or do I? No you don't. What happens with those coins? Does MP keep the staked coins? |

So my first post in this thread was on page #493. I just joined the ranks of the XC community by picking up my first 250 XC over the weekend. Well last night, I managed to pick up some more. I now have enough for an Xnode, then blew past that selling off some not so great investment choices and am currently sitting on 1800. Also downloaded the wallet last night and that is in the process of Syncing, which should be done by the time I get home today. And then I can transfer all my coins to my wallet from the exchange and start staking. Maybe even look at becoming an Xnode.

Merk, unfortunately the IPO investors, including you and me, have been fooled. The devs are gone with the money and Wallenstein is windowdressing with posts about the design of a vendor portal coming in July. As mentioned in the original thread (that was suddenly closed without any mentioning), a vendor portal will do zero for DCM. We better write down the names of these devs on our blacklist and accept the financial loss. Many new coins have launched the last weeks, at least as good as DCM. The only thing really special about DCM was the huge success of the IPO and the potential power of the resulting budget. But the IPO budget has only brought profit to the devs and their friends, and has not been and will not be used for the survival and development of the DCM coin, which is now getting near a very sad value of 2000 sats.
The original thread was not closed by the devs. It was a decision by BCT moderators due to threats being posted. The threat post was removed and the thread locked. That's the reason we have the new ANN, moderated by the DCM team to keep a certain destructive FUDer individual from posting here. I don't think that the devs are not working on something, they are just too slow for the crypto world. Coins with promises just don't do it any more because so many people have gotten burned. Now if you want a coin to succeed, you NEED to have everything ready (or almost ready) before launch. The fuck if I'm going to ever invest in something with "promises and potential" again. I'll wait until things have been proven to work and the devs have a good track record....and that's where I will invest. I know for a fact that Wallenstein has a heavy vested interest in DCM and owns a lot of coins himself. As for the others I don't know. So I know he wants the coin to succeed. Kreative just kind of went MIA since June 17th. He might be working on getting vendors or what not, but damn.....peak in to say hi or something. The other guys are more behind the scenes guys and didn't really post much when things were going well, so I understand that. |

And another thing. How can you expect people to take their coins off the exchange, when the price keeps dropping? There is no stability, and until that stability is shown, most won't take their coins off, and you won't get new investors.
I personally have all mine off of Bittrex, but I can see the concern.
You have to stop the bleeding, because the current plan is not working. Do I have any new ideas? No, but I'm also not on the development team. I am just heavily invested.

Market cap of $19,191. That's depressing. I'm embarrassed to say how much I've put into DCM (But I will say I've lost all the profits I've made in crypto in the last 2 months). It's hard right now not to be so negative. So I'll end with that......

I think you guys don't understand opportunity cost and portfolio theory. The question isn't whether Silver is a solid investment or not, but whether XC has more potential over a certain time horizon. Using some of your silver to purchase an investment you think will perform better over time isn't crazy, you should just make sure you do the necessary research to feel confident in your investment decision. Nobody here knows what % of your portfolio is in silver, so they can't answer the question. As it stands, he has the option to purchase silver with his btc, or any alt coin. Blindly saying he is crazy is a bad response. Why don't you guys just sell all your btc now and buy silver with it. According to your posts, you would be crazy not to.
Sounds like a plan! I have no problem purchasing gold and silver with alt coins, but I don't like to do it the other way. Doesn't matter how sound I think the investment potential is with the crypto. I personally can't do it. Potential vs Precious Metals (a known solid investment). And what happens if that "potential" investment goes the other way? |

Same here, I will go all in on XC shortly, I am completing my last trades so that I can get a 4k total in XC.
I just jumped onto XC recently (this weekend), so I'm just starting out on XC. I do like what I've seen and read about the coin, and it seems like now is as good of a time as any to get in. I have a little over 250 right now, but I'm thinking about cutting back on a few other coins to pick up more. Looks like a good long-term hold that you don't have to watch every day.....which some of us don't have the luxury of doing. yup. just to let u know XC has "survived" the latest hype pumps (VRC/cloak/crypt/rzr) with prices higher than 100k, worst we v seen is 85k 2 weeks ago and we have been stable ever since. Prices do get corrected in 24hours and we have only good news to show and so much promoting to be done by our team. I take it u ve seen the bitcoinbeltway pics. It's like you said it " it seems like now is as good of a time as any to get in". PS: u need 550 right now to creat an Xnode and get fees from anon transactions Yeah....the charts look good and was one of the reasons I decided to start investing in XC. I have not seen the bitcoinbeltway pics. I knew about the 550 to creat an Xnode, but I don't know the details. How secure of a network do I need? With DRK I saw that someone had their masternode hacked. Is this something that needs to be worried about with the Xnode? Collecting fees would be fantastic, but if it's a security liability, I probably won't do it. |

On a side note, I went 3 days without a single stake. Was getting worried. Popped on tonight, and all of a sudden got a bunch of newly minted DCM!
Is it good to exit the wallet then restart it up again from time to time? Also thank you Wallenstein for keeping me up to date and not just ignoring my PM which would have just been easier. Exiting....maybe it should have been that easy....lol. I've had my wallet open since the last wallet update. Everything is good now, but I will keep that in mind the next time. |
