141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the Heck Do Gamblers Mean By this Phrase on: April 20, 2024, 09:52:59 PM
I've never seen anything like that before... It's certain that some set of gamblers could conjoin some words to best describe their outcome/performance. I don't really know much about poker games though.

Lemme try to guess; I think you got this word from the chat lobby or something? It could mean a stance where multiple cards regroup - more like a jackpot...yeah! Otherwise, a quick Google search would save your ass!
Why's everyone saying almost the same thing? There's nothing superstitious about the word in the OP.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: April 20, 2024, 09:44:10 PM
Ehnnn, I like the fact that he told himself the truth - "No matter how much is made from gambling, you'll still long for more" - and that's just disheartening!!

I can tell alot of his mixed feelings; creating an imaginary scene in my mind and .....he's sitting there in anguish and remorse for whatever actions probed him into gambling in the first instance.. it's painful!!
Feeling regrets is just fine but, there's absolutely nothing else you'd do to kill the urge unless your mind agrees with it. Gambling has been made in a way that a one-time winning would automatically invoke your mind; so the worst decisions to ever make is succumb to it.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can people still get the addictive nature through friendly games on: April 20, 2024, 09:19:38 PM
So the other day me and my friends both male and female were involved in some house old friendly games like food competition, card game, thumb wrestling and so many more and take to note, all these activities were done just for old times sake..
I personally don't consider this to be a part of an addictive gambling process... WTF? Thumb wrestling? This would just be a game played between folks just for fun. Anything more than that - just like what you were tryna describe on the other context - is exclusively not for you!

That being said, unless you're out on a land-based casino and have lost a specific amount, you'll never understand the pain thus, gain the resilience to gamble more - which is exactly how to get addicted easily!!
144  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 20, 2024, 02:58:15 PM
I have noticed that someone will ask question on trading discussion, you will give answer but your post will not be given any merit.
Meritocracy has been vastly discussed in here for a while now... I've observed that more people are down to this fact for clout rather than fixing the system (if there's any problem with it at all). Meanwhile, everyone would either want it adjusted, fixed, or act like nothing is wrong with the frequency/concentration in circulation at all..
Now for the fact that the system isn't moderated, it's basically about what a merit source deems to be a quality post... They may solely look at technical post as what they'd assume to spend more merits on.
There's also a thread that has plentiful of it -- The WO thread! I think that alone should give you a Broadway of understanding how this works.

There are plenty of merit giveaway threads where anyone can report posts he belives deserve merit merit.
Rikafip, Have you been reporting yours too? Tongue
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 4th Bitcoin Halving on: April 20, 2024, 02:01:35 PM
It's another milestone that surely going to be seen soon but as we celebrate and welcome this 4th halving, here comes some unwelcoming fees update
I wasn't expecting anything better than this ... Atleast 20% of the total number of miners we have (from my estimate) would have to quit due to the halving... [how do you keep doing a business that isn't profitable anymore]?...That being said, I guess all they gotta do is increasing the fees for that reason - also for how congested the mempool currently is.

I also tend to understand things way differently-- The volatility in Bitcoin is the whole essence of the digital coin for a fact...[saying this for clarity to someone's reply I can't really locate right now]

Edit: This is my first time of experiencing the halving and, it Happens to be the most prolific amongst all odds, Happy Bitcoin halving !!!
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [1 to 3 days] a long running game good or bad? on: April 19, 2024, 09:58:40 PM
Accumulating small odds to the tune of 30 games doesn't guarantee a win win so, I'd personally choose other options with better odds.
Secondly, how do you make your predictions? Cus it looks to me like you don't have any idea about gambling predictions at all - i mean, a game like UNION BERLIN - BAYERN; that's a good opportunity to increase your odds so I'd personally choose that as an away to score 2 goals option...
Lastly, I wouldn't bet on extension games.. sometimes, you may be hoping to cashout on the game when it gets to some point but, your odds are already too small.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Casino Game Has the Best Odds? on: April 19, 2024, 09:51:18 PM
One thing is that the higher the odd the harder it is to win. There are no two reasons I visit casinos than to play my lovely roulette. You can not understand, I love roulettes. The higher the odd, the less the number range and the higher you can lose. Sometimes I also play dice and their odds to probability to win or lose are similar. I love the game that I can play and feel relaxed and enjoying it. Using high amount of money will not make you enjoy it.
well, it all depends on the casinos in question - This is how I see it; a casino could decide to bring in this strategy as part of a promotional plan for new gamblers like you said... Bonuses, improved odds, multipliers and campaigns are all they'll need as well.
On the other hand, an already made casino wouldn't wanna go beyond breaking points since - all they have to sustain themselves with is the frequency of winnings...
Casino games are terribly the worst take for an instance like this.
148  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why not create a Gambling platform on Market narrative? on: April 19, 2024, 09:30:39 PM
There is, 🔮 Futuur - Predict the Future! 🔮, although there's no prediction about upcoming cryptocurrency hype.
Yes, there are different sites where several predictions are made... Do you really have to make it obvious that altcurrencies are a total gamble?...

Royce made a good point! Hoping on a trend by creating a website worth atleast $500 minimum for  predictions would be as good as buying some memecoin in CEX without retrieving the seedphrase.
I'm just curious though, how is it related to gambling?
Sorry man, but did you read the post at all?
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tracking inside of CEXs on: April 18, 2024, 09:59:48 PM
Is there a cex explorer or a way to read the blockchain and know what happens in there if its bridging or trading spot or withdrawal to a different chain from the deposit ?? I would appreciate all the help you guys give me and I apologise for taking your time
Thank you
what sort of Human creates an account just to ask how they could track wallets on CEXs and doesn't even reply to anyone - to atleast confirm if the information was useful or not?? Shows how frustrating life could be sometimes and you wanna get a boring hubby like wallet tracking...meh!!
although I'm not sure what's your purpose for doing that, probably you want to work for government? Tongue
who knows? He left and has never been online since the last time... isn't that suspicious?
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 18, 2024, 09:20:44 PM
For small transactions, yes!
The mempool is currently congested and there's no two ways about it - atleast for a layman. I'd say running a lightening network node is an alternative but, there has not been any update about it since the last time.. Plus you'd have to pass through several processes of creating a channel, manual tweaking etc .. I prefer integrated transactions instead.
less than 1 billion people think $20 is insignificant/ only an hours labour
where as 7 billion people think $20 is significant and worth more then an hours labour
7 billion? Well, I understand your enthusiasm and nobody is against Bitcoin either, but do you have a chart to prove your estimation?
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Focus on knowledge, build up belief, then investment plan, success will come. on: April 18, 2024, 08:21:44 PM
When you spend more time in Bitcoin market, you will read more news about this market and Bitcoin. You will read many criticism or just hilarious and jealous comment that Bitcoin investors got profit because they were lucky.
In my early days, I read several documentaries and news about the volatility of Bitcoin; what I learnt was how skeptical most people were... ain't gonna lie, this Somehow made me retract - until the worst happened when I decided to HODL for the first time...
First of all, I made a wrong choice of wallet...Imagine HODLing some coins - out of doubtfulness and DES-peration - in a centralized exchange!
I enjoyed the last few weeks of the bull market and boooomm, everything reduced in half! What a terrible way to start..and yes, I bought and HODLed during the bull market.
Edit: I've learnt alot ever since I joined the forum, honestly  Smiley
Edit 2:
Without proper knowledge and marker research, we shouldn't make any kind of investment decisions, either on Bitcoin or in real life.
I can say, that's the ugliest decisions I made way back.
152  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: April 18, 2024, 07:42:26 PM
The mixer ban cost me 6 or 7k as I lost that signature.
The USA laws that activated this year cost me 40k mining income maybe less maybe more.
I'm sorry for your loss mate... That's a wholesome amount to have lost due to some unscrupulous government policies... The US and most European countries have been polluted and have built fake image against Bitcoin; and Yes, the future of our toil is somewhat tarnished -- with the sanctions and bans here and there -- Bitcoin may not possess the same features as it was made with..[that's if they decide to leave it be]
They're looking on how to make money, just like the rest of us. Their willing to benefit the country collectively (if any) is secondary. Attacking Bitcoin is, hopefully for the last time, one big financial suicide. Be it now or 10 years ago.
look at that! They keep covering up their greediness with the aim to trace money laundering cases - to which they feel Bitcoin has made that an ease to.
Edit:
Bitcoin may not possess the same features as it was made with..
Careful.  That statement is close to letting you find out what actual censorship is...
I know exactly what I said boss Smiley
The government added censorships to the system, yes! Has Bitcoin totally lost its features, atleast globally? Not yet!
153  Other / Meta / Re: Post per day/ per month falling. on: April 18, 2024, 06:05:44 PM
But talking about Indian Local board it definitely is one of the reason why the place is becoming ghosted. Cheesy
The general activity in your local board has deteriorated so much that all you got is a few update in only two threads? Don't y'all have any merit source in there ?
Quote
was he - by any chance a merit source before now? How did he lose his sourceship power?
Theymos needs to decentralize the merit source.   Right now it's used as a political tool to reward people he likes.
Theymos isn't a part of this AFAIK... You can say that some of the merit sources are becoming sentimental,Yes! BTW, I never knew most reputable members also get affected by the plague, per se
Quote
How hard would it be to distribute merits based on activity, or trust, or some other set of factors?   Theymos used to be creative.  Sad
That's not hard at all.... But humans will always wanna show off their predominance - especially if they are already made.
In terms of overall engagement, it's got to be the community doing things for themselves.  No one can do it for us.
so it's safe to say that we're indirectly our own problems?
154  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk's important historic changes on: April 17, 2024, 09:14:39 PM
Added some latest changes:
  • Suspend ad sales
  • 2FA added
  • Mixers ban
  • Second chances
As fast as all these were implemented, several months ago, it's already beginning to seem like we've gone through several years without them...maybe for the fact that i have read enough of the stories over and over again and [nothing else has been made to revoke the situation]
It's hard to say it is right or wrong but with his position, I understand why he decided to do that even in many years, theymos supports freedom.
Theymos doesn't have any potential to override the forum privately - out of the government's spectacle.. So if we all still wanna wake up and find our way back in here, ehhh, he needs to work by the rules he's been given..
155  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: April 17, 2024, 08:36:32 PM
I even gave him merit for one of his posts.  Embarrassed
It seemed to me that the post might have been generated, but I guess I wanted to believe that a new member had arrived who wanted to be active.
To be honest, it scares me alot when several topics are being passed off and detected with AIs.. plagiarism isn't a big problem to me -- i know for a fact that the forum has been fighting against it for as long as I came in here, and i think we're slowly winning -- but users have improvised and adopted the AIs for almost the same purpose...
The post which got these 37 merits is second below, it is totally AI written. And The-Devil has these tags:
Imagine having them pass through some route that automatically jeopardizes the merit system...
156  Other / Meta / Re: Post per day/ per month falling. on: April 17, 2024, 02:05:41 PM
Censorship (mixers), prominent members (or as I thought) turning out to be dickheads, can't see myself reading anything other than my local board (so much unnatural and boring content elsewhere). At one point I can see myself just leaving.
C'monnnn..!!! What's happening?? The forum isn't getting anymore traffic like it used to;1miau declared himself inactive and that the case for several weeks, then you? ... everyone feels bored at some point - ain't gon' lie, I do - but if everyone feels the same way and decides to leave, isn't this gonna be named a haven for spontaneous shit posting?
Lol you serious? Its so easy to rank up now that even shitposters are reaching higher ranks.
Do you seriously wanna argue with him? [especially on this issue]? I'd only say the same thing in a different context.
157  Economy / Reputation / Re: Anonymity of Bitcointalk forum members on: April 16, 2024, 10:00:21 PM
No, they will not.
I'm afraid they will have to  Smiley

Try and have any agency request information on the approx 6,000 BTC that OGNasty stole from the community.  Theymos has said he will only give out that information with a court order.
Seems unlikely to me...but what you meant was that Theymos's action became detrimental at some point? Which is why he said this? That's the only thing that came into my mind when I read the bold part of your post.
Quote
6,000 btc is big, and OGNasty was a popular escrow when he scammed.
I've been following this case for quite a long time now... Vod, how about filing a lawsuit for this case? [and your website isn't ready just like we discussed via PMS]?
158  Economy / Reputation / Re: josephvname is a science hating fraudster. on: April 16, 2024, 08:57:09 PM
Good to know you are alive. I was missing you 😍
You mean his gibberish sense of writing? Hasn't it been smeared around enough that even a grail reader would ignore his ass? What an irony, Lmao! I never knew Bitcoingirl has such a good sense of humor  Tongue

Idiots like this need to be banned from this site.
Says a user with 3 red fine tags that says nothing really different about his adversary.
I don't really think it's a good idea to become an imposter, Mr name -- for whatever reasons that's happening, Do you really think anyone takes y'all seriously??
159  Other / Meta / Re: AI generated content by newbies on: April 16, 2024, 07:28:45 PM
As things stand, there will come a point where fighting the AI will be like trying to dry ice with a cloth... A never-ending fight, unfortunately
enhh, it's really pathetic!
I can remember writing on several topics, disposing the ideas of acquiescing AIs on the forum; AIs have done more harm already than it intends to do good in here... What's really disturbing is that so many people seem not to see anything wrong with it.
I just took the list of recommended detectors from the aforementioned thread and checked two random posts with those detectors. To show that detectors can be wrong. That's exactly what happened.
Detectors could be wrong too, For sure!! Nevertheless, it's always very obvious in some cases, even without them
160  Other / Meta / Re: Reply without bumping? on: April 16, 2024, 07:01:02 PM
Is it possible to reply to a topic without bumping it? I think this would be a very useful way to warn others of scammers, trolls and suspicious posts without bumping the thread to the top where more people can see.
if there's any Illegal activity going on that remains a dubiety, or sometimes ascertained, letting out a notice to everyone is certain; Your question is -- To what level of privacy is needed should there be an escalation? That's not even needed! How do you intend to let 57,000 active users know about a scammy project by posting them on a board that doesn't have the thread-bumping option [if there's anything like that]Huh do you intend to manually send PMs to everyone?
There's no way that works - hope it answers your question and suppresses your curiosity!
