ICO? on: May 17, 2018, 10:45:05 AM
143  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Facebook планирует запуск собственной криптоваl on: May 17, 2018, 10:42:51 AM
ICO on: May 17, 2018, 10:41:13 AM
145  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Есть ли будущее у альтов? on: May 17, 2018, 10:33:23 AM
146  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Экокоин vs Buzcoin on: May 17, 2018, 10:31:36 AM
147  Local / Юристы / Re: На пути к легализации крипты в России on: May 17, 2018, 10:29:12 AM
148  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: Стоит ли инвестировать в криптовалюту? on: May 17, 2018, 10:27:49 AM
149  Local / Бayнти и aиpдpoпы / Re: Кто сколько заработал на баунти? on: May 17, 2018, 10:26:16 AM
150  Local / Трейдеры / Re: Когда биток пойдет вверх? on: May 17, 2018, 10:24:59 AM

Also, as someone suggested, if you want to takeover, please create your own repo in github and thread (if you want to continue using this thread, I have no problem - the thread is not owned by me, supercointeam owns it). This is the way how community takeover for open source coin works.

152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 26, 2014, 10:00:54 PM

No one tried to reach me. I did not see any message. As I said before, I will endorse the devs who are willing to take-over, as long as they keep the supercoin open sourced.

BTW, I saw good discussions on the supercoin tech, I am glad that many people understand the tech well. Thanks to all who supported and described in supercoin tech in clarity. The whitepapers are good places to start, before diving into the code.

Well now we know Supercoindev wants to keep the supercoin open sourced.  Can somebody give me the pro and cons of keeping supercoin open sourced after Griffith and mdtspain start upgrading supercoin?

let me clarify what we plan to do. the coin source itself WILL be open source. what would be closed source is the mutliwallet that i am making from scratch that will be a SECONDARY platform for the coin to run in. there will always be the wallet for just supercoin that will be available. that other wallet that will be able to run multiple coins at the same time will be closed source. it will use the coins source (in a slightly different way) to be able to run use the coin in it. but the supercoins source itself will be open.

ALSO the in wallet trading will be closed source. there is NO connection between the source of the coin and the in wallet trading. they are two different code blocks. i dont need to edit the coins source at all in order to give it in wallet trading. so the in wallet trading section will remain closed.

TL;DR - supercoins code itself will be open source. the 3rd party things we make to work WITH the coins source will be closed as they wont be added into the coins code (they are separate code blocks)

this is our current plan for the coin

As long as you keep the supercoin open source, I have no problem. What this means is that all that built on top of the current supercoin wallet and released as supercoin wallet should be open sourced.

You can, of course, create other apps such as multiwallet that support more than one coins. These are your apps, you decide whether you want to open source them or not, I have nothing to do with them.

We should keep trying to reach supercoindev, so he can point out that he is okay for the new dev's to pick up from where he left.
Yes we could simply make a somewhat " hostile " take over, even if the dev agreed on that, with new thread, facebook, page and everything.
But it would just look so much better the other way.

Now...we will keep the source from Supercoin open source, however if we are going to add in wallet trading, multiple coin support and other exclusive developments to Supercoin, then those developments WILL stay closed source.

No coin has benefits if ALL the source code is open source. Closed source will give value to a coin as it will be unique. So I think we will do the following, we will make 2 wallets for every operating system. 1 with special futures and 1 without them.

Am I the only one who thinks that's ironic after all the struggling to get source published?

Yes absolutely, I am strongly against all the attempts to make the source code closed for supercoin. The only reason I publish all the code, is to keep supercoin open-source coin. I will strong against any dev to make it close-source again. Community, please keep supercoin open source!
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 20, 2014, 07:29:37 PM
and for those who said it is not an anonymous system, do a transaction and try to figure out the source, it is not difficult. The system uses random nodes to create multisig address, so when there are enough participating nodes, you will not be able to pinpoint the source. Also it is easy to use a random address from each party to create the multisig address, I did not implement it due to time constraint, but it is trivial to do so. All explaned in the whitepapers.

Anyway, no more jokes, I won't have time to answer them.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 20, 2014, 07:21:15 PM

First of all...we compiled the code allready...nobody said that that wasn't possible...we have the MAC wallets ready
Second...wait a bit Griffith will tell you excatly what the code does.
Third...you don't know him...so no need for insults

please don't waste time and no joke, I know what my code does, I don't need other people to tell me. Again if you don't understand the code, use debugger.

And, for those who don't understand, please read the white papers, they explain clearly how this works and why it is the p2p anonymous system.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN] Unique Most Advanced Anonymous Trustless Multisig Technology on: November 20, 2014, 06:37:12 PM
alright guys, we have looked at the code and fully understand what it is doing, i am going to try and contact the supercoin dev to see if he has left some of the code out because based on the description of what he says it does it seems like he might have left a part of the code missing for privacy. i am also going to ask them to release the usernames / passwords for the  BitcoinTalk, FB, twitter, etc accounts so that we can takeover management of the PR for the coin as well.

I doubt you really understand the code. The code is complete and I did not miss out or leave out any code. Please compile the code and run it. Use debugger as I suggested before if you need more details about workflow etc.

Again, let me be clear:
1. The code I released is the complete code for supercoin 3.1.1.
2. It compiles and runs as the executables we released a few months back
3. No garbage talks about code that it is not right, not correct, not implemented etc (all healthy comments are welcomed), as the wallet has been running for many months without any problems
4. I don't have time to walk through the code with people, just read the code (there will be people who understand the code, this code is not for mediocre "devs" - they can't write any code like this anyway. Otherwise you will see many coins having new techs like supercoin). If you can't figure out the code (there are many logic/workflows inside), then use debugger to follow the flows.
5. There maybe some posts on "reviews" of the code, citing this wrong and that wrong, the community can believe whatever they want, but just remember that the supercoin wallet 3.1.1 has been working very well and very fast for many months, this is the fact and the code in its entirety is released now. So it is your choice to believe in fact or some "devs" "reviews" - this is actually the main reason I released the code to public, instead of letting some incompetent people to own and comment at will at my code.

Anyway, I won't be there often, and in general I wont reply to comments and messages (especially fuds). If you really get into the code and have some detail questions (which proves that you are a competent dev), I may be able to help if I have time.

I will take a leap of faith and stand by supercoindev as long as they keep showing the supercoin community useful attention.

Note: I released the complete code for phase 2 - p2p anonymous system with multisig technologies (Supercoin version 3.1.1). In the code you will see some limited comments too (I did not have time to put detailed comments in code).

There's also a codebase for 2.x which is the centralized mixer system. I don't think there's a need to release the code, as it is considered as a common and obsolete technology, which many other coins (such as Blackcoin) used too (though my implementation is unique and from scratch). Therefore I won't release this part of the code.

now it seems ok,
https://github.com/supercoinproject/supercoin-p2p

if you still can't access, post here.

sorry seems some problems with github, let me open a support case there. Should be available soon. If not, I will create a new repo.
