This could end up being a very big project. The feedback I am receiving from the education communities is very positive.

This is not a general give away and will be done on a controlled case by case basis. Otherwise, we will use up millions of DNotes that are getting more and more expensive to come by.

There are two primary objectives. The first one is provide participating teachers and students the convenience of getting immediate real world experience by downloading the blockchain, create a DNotes wallet, and follow a link to receive an amount of DNotes. Next, they set up a trading account and transfer the DNotes to that account so that they can gain some trading experience on DNotes and Bitcoin.

The second objective is to encourage students to use this as a college fund saving account using DNotes. We will make available a Student Rich List. Prizes will be given out from time to time, at random intervals, with details to follow.  We are doing the same for “Kids with a CR.I.S.P.”  (Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan)

This will evolve around cryptomoms.com, a content rich website to learn more about crypto currencies. A press will be issued in a few weeks regarding this program. A number of other press releases are also scheduled between now and the end of the year.

I have many more write-ups to be posted but have been holding back for lack of participations from our community.  Please make an effort to participate, no matter how brief.  I need to know if what I am doing is helpful, especially when writing is not one of my hobbies.

To me it is important for our stake holders to understand why our long term strategies are so different compared to our industry peers. They are well thought out strategies executed at the most appropriate or best time.  DNotes is a digital currency. It is money. Understanding the functions of money is important. As much as store of value is a very simple concept, managing your asset or store of value can make you poor or rich. Over 90% of the people are getting poorer while the rest are getting richer. Let’s work together to make difference, helping DNotes to be the best store of value.

DNotes - Destined to Fulfill the Functions of Money

Since I have been preparing to write about the functions of money, I asked my six years old grandson, “What is money for?”  “Buy toys”, he replied instantly.

Money is certainly used to buy toys and much more, but it actually has three functions that have been generally agreed to. There is a fourth function that has been floating around for years, but not always discussed. Perhaps because it is a hybrid that came about as we developed more ways to use money by accepting installment or deferred payments for current purchases. If that is true, digital currency will enhance the functions of money even further. DNotes is positioning itself to lead in exploiting this huge potential of various additional advantages digital currency has to offer over fiat currencies.

Medium of exchange:

Money is used as the most convenient and efficient vehicle as a medium of exchange for goods and services.  It replaces the need to barter for goods and services, a highly unproductive and difficult system. Barter trade consumes unproductive time and resources to find and negotiate with the traders on both sides. As a result, everyone is willing to accept money in exchange for goods and services.

Unit of account:

Unit of account is a general consent on the value of a currency relative to a good or service or another currency (money). UD$3.00 can buy one gallon of Milk. 1 DNotes can be traded for 0.0001201 Bitcoin. This is a very simple concept with great implications, especially in the cryptocurrency world. It is reasonable to say that the cryptocurrency exchanges have been playing a very important role for “Unit of Account” for digital currency.  When a cryptocurrency is de-listed by most or all the exchanges, its value can only be established through barter trade, threatening the very survival of the coin.

In theory, when a coin continuously become more available and its value consistently appreciate at a reliable and sustainable rate the general consent of its  value is much more dependable than one that is not. As often the case in our industry, when the value of a currency is highly volatile with wide fluctuation of value, it is an indication that the general consent on the value of that currency is unsettled. Both uptrend and downtrend are likely to have been induced or manipulated; pump and dump. For long-term investor finding dependable general consent of value (unit of account) is very important.

Store of Value:

Money functions as a practical and convenient way to store value, allowing us to exchange money for goods and services at any time without worrying that the value may expire or rot away.  This allows us to save for retirement or diversify in protecting its value by investing in different currencies, and other asset class.

DNotes as a worthy Store of Value is part of our strategic mission. This is hugely important to a number of DNotes projects, including the recently introduced Baby DNotes program. More will be discussed in future posts.



Standard of deferred payment:

Standard of deferred payment is frequently used for current purchases with deferred or installment payments. However, it is not always discussed as a function of money. This could be partly because it involves both the unit of account and the store of value functions. Accounting for inflation and potential devaluation of the currency, the $10,000 you agreed to pay for the used car purchased today but paid monthly over 24 installments is worth less in present value by the time it is paid in full.

Standard of deferred payment is used as a benchmark to determine what interest rate should be added to preserve the present value of that agreed price. An incentive of a higher interest rate is often added to help offset potential default risk. It can also be priced in as the selling price and advertise as 0% interest as a sales promotion.


What if someone would accept the same purchase with installment payments in DNotes?

I strongly encourage further discussions and comments. If DNotes can serve well in all the functions of money, with additional advantages, mainstream adoption of digital currency is a certainty. DNotes is positioned to be that currency.  Building a solid foundation of trust and fundamental value has to be our trademarks. If money is for everyone, and so easy to understand and easy to use, DNotes as a digital currency for everyone must also be easy to understand and easy to use. That is a huge challenge our development team is working to overcome.

What is different is that, we believe in achieving that common goal together. It is about promoting and protecting our self-interest as a group, verses doing it individually. We have to work harder and patiently wait for our turn.

We appreciate every hard earned dollar that is invested to support DNotes and work hard to protect it. That is what it takes to build a trustworthy currency which can eventually fulfill all the three functions of money, including its hugely important function as a medium of exchange. Without that, mass merchant and consumer adoption of digital currency is not achievable.

Hi everyone. DNotes is holding above 900 sats. That is a good thing. There is no noticeable sign of any pump or dump, not that I am expecting any.

With our continued commanding lead, we expect Mintpal to announce DNotes as the next winner to be listed on their exchange tomorrow afternoon (CST) 8-18-14.

We will support this new market to the best we can. Most likely it will be a slow start with a gradual ramp up. That will be another solid indicator that DNotes is not a P&D coin. We are here for the long term.

Baby.Lilly is the first "member" of Baby DNotes  and I hope she will be followed a long list of newborns receiving a gift of DNotes.  Registered Education Savings Plans are started when children are born, so it seems like perfect timing to start a CR.I.S.P. (Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan) for them.

After taking a short break from cryptocurrency, I'm back and ready to work full time. However on my "break", I set over 10 people up with DNotes, and voted 5 times per day on Mintpal. Now I intend on taking Fire Fighters for Digital Currency to the next level, while helping DNotes gain exposure among emergency service personnel. I am in the process of contacting non-profit organizations in an attempt to familiarize them with DNotes and accept cryptocurrency donations. If all goes according to plan, I will have several organizations working with FF4DC and be ready for a press release by the time we make it on Mintpal 

I am impressed.  When you said Smokeys Daylily Gardens was one of the largest daylily growers in the world, I naturally assumed it had been around for 20+ years.  Considering it must have taken a couple of years (?) to get your stock up built up, what you have done in 5 years is quite astounding.  This gives me even more faith in what can happen to DNotes in 5 or 6 years!

As far as the price goes, I think we would all like to travel back in time (even for 1 hour) to the time that DNotes was was under 100 Satoshis.  Having a price that goes up and stabilizes is pretty rare in the Crypocurrency world, so the price may seem high to someone who is used to the inevitable fall of so many others.  I know it is a bit early to call it, but it looks like DNotes is finding a new trading range after each of the last couple of price increases.  At a little more than 1/3 of a penny, I personally think it is a steal.

I just got home from a long field trip. Drove 245 miles in 3 ½ hours one way and it is midnight in Chicago. I am especially delighted to see more and more of our happy stake holders posting for the first time. Welcome, and thanks for sharing your DNotes experience with us.

Quick Updates:

I wish I have more time, but at this time of the year when daylily and other flowers are at their peak bloom time, my "honey do list" is long and demanding. This is our time to entertain and show off a little with lots of garden walks and dinners for families and friends. So, let me just give you a quick update.

DNotes' performance has been much stronger than expected. The fact that it has been staying at close to 600 Satoshi for many days with relatively high volume is impressive. This bull seems to be resting, rather than retreating. Give it another week or two to see if it is going to be testing a new higher low before continuing the upward climb.

We are definitely on track to be one of coin market cap top 50s. Again, it only counts when it is sustainable. The DNotes team will continue to work very hard and not take anything for granted.

Our development team has been growing with a solid addition. Our project list has also been growing.

We know that some of you have been working very hard voting at Mintpal to get DNotes listed on their exchange. We are very appreciated of your efforts. Although we have made significant advances, we are falling behind. With an average daily vote of less than 200, we are behind and must pick speed. This is a significant mile stone for DNotes. We can use a lot more help.

In the Venture Capital world, it’s called “The Golden Rule” He who holds the gold, makes the rule.” I found that out one time when I attempted to get some VC funding. It can get quite frustrating because they can change the rules any time. 

I was able to get an account for my wife qualified after 4 buy/sell transactions. IP address was not an issue but she needed her own email address. I have very good experiences with Mintpal and have high regards for them. I support their efforts to crack down blatant abuse using bot. We should do things the honest ways even if we have to work a lot harder. DNotes is almost ready for prime time. Getting DNotes listed on Mintpal is an important milestone in our road map. You guys are doing great. We appreciate that very much.

Thanks for your prompt attention.  We will have someone from our team to take a closer look and may decide to start out in a small scale, as a test.  We don't plan to push merchant accounts aggressively until DNotes is proven to be a sufficiently stable digital currency. This could take another year. We are working on a number of projects to position DNotes to be the digital currency of choice in conducting global commerce. There are many challenges that must be overcome first. In our opinion, the digital currency that is widely accepted as trustworthy, stable, with excellent liquidity and reliable appreciating value will be the currency of choice. The payoff is huge and we are taking our time to do things right from the start.
