141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Premier league finalist on: May 19, 2024, 10:14:08 AM
Concerning today's premier league match. Man City vs Westham and Arsenal vs Evertoon, did you think any of these two finalist will lose match today? Checking Man City last 5 matches with Westham, Man City win 4 and draw 1 while Arsenal win 4 and loss 1. And Evertoon has won 4 of their last 5 matches which means they are inform and Arsenal has also won 5 of their last 5 game they are also inform. However, somehow I feel this Arsenal game is going to be a big game today.

What did you guys think?
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: May 19, 2024, 09:52:47 AM
I came across a recent topic where the op was saying over 80% of gamblers gamble to make money and I had to have a dip thought on that and was curious as to know if there are possibilities that people gamble just for the sake of answering the name gambler?
Nearly eighty percentage of the gamblers are doing gambling for the money making.
From my opinion, I think there isn’t any need to stake or risk one’s money on a game simply because you want to catch fun when you could simply not risk your money and still have fun while watching same game.
I don’t know if I’m really staying my points well but I wish to know if people really have to gamble without intentions of making money?

Outside gambling to make money i don't think there's any other reason why people gamble though there are people who gamble with the mindset that if the game wants to cut it should cut if it wants to play it should play because of the money they have and the money they have win from gamble so it's like nothing to them because they know that, even if the game cut they can double the money they will lose in less than no time. There's an extent you have money gambling will be like someone that is just playing imagine someone Drake, he's not just gambling for the money he has the money already but he's just creating an awareness.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: May 19, 2024, 09:40:34 AM
From my little activeness over here in the forum and my involvement in gambling I have been seeing some changes in me and it's gradually beginning not to please me anymore I don't know If I will say I am becoming too emotional with my funds but sometimes it's very painful to place a bet for about 2 to 5 consecutive times no winning and this is what is beginning to me make feels sad. I know is a game of luck but sometimes whatever we do and not feels happy we should try to quit it.

I just have to bring this to know the category of people who belong to this sets that always feels bad or are emotionally touched due to their games has been constantly bursting without winning. I don't know how to channel it but at least gambler should be happy most times i will noticed that only 1 games do take me away from winning and most times there will be option to cash out I will have the full confident that all will be successfully played without knowing games change even at dying minutes.

The only time someone will feel so excited while gambling is when all his game playing well or maybe the person have won already these are the only things that can make one to be excited. I haven't seen someone whose game is cutting or someone who has being on loss will now be excited though some people try sometimes to put smile on their face even when their game is going in the wrong side but yet it doesn't last for long. However, whether you lose or you win you shouldn't be nervous because those things are Paramount and you knew before you signed up on it.
144  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What are the things newbies shouldn't do in this platform, so w can not be block on: May 19, 2024, 08:22:55 AM
Yes boss with my respect to you ,why I said that is due to recent happenings in Nigeria, yahoo boys everywhere killing of innocent citizen,so if we can help in advertising this forum I think many will change from their ways because this forum is educating and also in future it pays ,here is just my own kind of little contribution

I no see how you go take advertise this forum when e no be business place, that person go just come and get money.
Thank you my brother for this reply, how person wan go advertise this forum give Yahoo boys wey dey find quick money, how Dem go take believe am say this place dey legit too with no evidence or proof that you are earning from bitcoinTalk forum.

145  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: A Skill or a degree on: May 19, 2024, 07:54:57 AM
Plenty reasons why skill dey important pass degree na say di job market dey always change. Wit new technologies and methodologies wey dey develop every time, many of di skills wey people bin dey consider important before fit no dey relevant again. As result, employers dey look for candidates wey fit quick quick learn and adapt to new skills, instead of people wey get degree for specific field.

Again, degree dey often refer to broad category of knowledge, while skills dey refer to specific ability or expertise. Employers dey find people wey get specific skills wey go fit meet di exact needs of their company, instead of general knowledge wey fit no dey useful.

For conclusion, even though degree still fit dey important for many people wey dey find job, e no be everything when e reach to get job or move forward for career. Employers dey look more and more for people wey get specific skills wey go fit apply directly for the job and fit help the company succeed. For today job market, e dey important pass ever to focus on develop skills wey dey demand, so you go fit increase your chance to get job and move forward for your career.

Op, see ehn e dey very wrong to judge or justify something when you never dey sure or when you never research to prove waiting you dey talk. Both skill and degree dey important and both of them get their advantage and disadvantage. e get people wey get skill but no degree and  Dem dey always find am hard to communicate to people and if you no get degree company or any firm come employ you as a skilled person dey go use you like rag because you no even know your stand and you no go even Know waiting to talk but a degree holder can never be use anyhow, they respect degree holders and most degree holder no dey work anyhow their own na mostly suppervising work or manager, in fact that person wey dey find skill worker to employ you no know say na degree holder be that, wey wan employ you so that en fit use you achieve in dreams and goals and you na wey be skill worker you dey happy say dey don employ you.
146  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if the Bitcoin was in note? on: May 18, 2024, 03:40:57 PM
In all countries around the world there currencies are all printed in paper which is called note though there maybe countries who still use coins till now. All around the world money can be misplaced maybe from your pocket, your hand or maybe your wallet may even get lost but still some people don't feel it when their money get lost because it's not that very high in exchange like in Nigeria where we have our highest currency which happens to be 1k and many other currencies like #500, #200, #100 and others most times we misplace this money and others pick it up with joy of having what you didn't work for but in this recent economy everybody has refused to lose money as usual ( laugh ).

What if the Bitcoin was in notes and with the same value as it has now, do you think anyone would misplace it or even walk with it on the street. Eventually you see a Bitcoin note will you return it to the owner. Let's be sincere and also see it as fun.

If you know how Bitcoin is being created or form you won't be talking about this here. Bitcoin can never be in note or paper form and again even if it will be in paper or note form i don't think all country will have access to it, just like Quatar no country have access to their currency and if country like USA should have access to it they will devalue it same will happens to Bitcoin, if they should bring it in paper or note form and it gets to USA the value go deprecate like mad.
147  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When will you start losing trust for an exchange? on: May 18, 2024, 02:38:51 PM
Asides having a legal issue and mismanagement of person money, what other reason fit make you lose trust in an exchange?

The reason I lost interest on some exchanges was high rate of asset seizure. I was using Hit BTC before but when I came to this forum and read about people complaining, I stopped using the exchange.

Another reason is high withdrawal fee. This was the main reason I finally left HitBTC fee years ago.

High trading fee. Most exchanges that are common have similar fee now. But for the ones that has higher trading fee, I left them for a lower trading fee exchanges. I noticed something like this on BitMex.

Another reason is unfavorable rate. The reason I left Luno for crypto/naira exchange.

Dubious activities. The reason I left Quidax few years ago.

It seems you have listed all the reasons why someone should stop using a particular exchange, I will like to emphasize more on this withdrawal fee just imagine where you have $100 in your wallet and the gas feel is about 10 -20% I mean this reason is enough for someone to stop using a particular exchange because it's as if you are working for them.
Transaction delay, I think this is also one of the reason why someone can stop using a particular exchange, let's say you have an important thing to do with money and you don't have cash and you want to transfer money from your wallet and after the transaction you now see that the transaction is taking a long period of time to arrive, no be person go tell you to stop, to use that exchange because of time wey e dey take for transaction to arrive.
Another one na too many procedure, e get some exchange wey you go enter like this some of them go stress person like mad and some of them before you go do transaction you go see steps and procedure tire all in the name of security reason this na the reason(s) wey fit make person stop to use a particular exchange.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: May 18, 2024, 12:16:22 PM
We have seen Bitcoin reach 70k USD and it even reached a point of 71k briefly. We are seeing history being made right here with the new all time high being set once again and it is happening even before halving.

I have high expectations that bitcoin will reach 100k but will it reach 100k without any major decline in price? Does it seem realistic that from 70k, bitcoin will continuously rise up?

No one can actually tell for sure if Bitcoin will continuously rise from $70k because we all know that bitcoin is volatile in nature and what will all do, it's like prediction that's after our analysis we take a decision which sometime will happen the way we wanted it to and sometime it doesn't happen. Anyone who invested in bitcoin will always want or wish for it to skyrocket but it's not our expectations that is controlling it. To me I don't think there will be a major decline in bitcoin before it will reach 100k. However, for the fact that we don't know what the team is planning that means we can't actually tell for sure how the decline is going to be or look like.
149  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 5 keys to wealth creation in the crypto space on: May 17, 2024, 10:12:12 AM
Op, all these things wey you yan like this for here na the koko. Anybody wey wan grow for crypto and en come forget or en no put all these things for mind e go worry the person well well ooo because if you no sabi save e no go easy oo. But some times ehn even when you get all these things for mind some kind things fit still sup wey go worry person growth na waiting make ehn, me I believe so much on grace because so many people things no dey go well for no be say they no dey try ooo but because they lack grace.
150  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: the decline in price of bitcoin on: May 17, 2024, 09:39:36 AM
I have not experienced bitcoin halving before and this previous one was the first one wey I don experienced so I can't say after the halving the price go go down and rise again. People been dey predict say bitcoin price go come down in the halving and when di halving comes nothing happens and now everyone dey expect di All Time High again. And now dat the transaction fee e dey low make we dey prepare ourselves for it.

In addition for those wey but or invest for the days back now dey make profit again for their investment because the price now dey rise well for them to make small profit from am.

Thank you very much boss for making me know the meaning of ATH, most people feel that once they have learn there's no need for other people to learn. If someone wants to write abbreviation or acronym at least after or before the abbreviation they should always write the full meaning too so that others can learn.
You have also make me to understand something concerning this halving, I always use to see post that after halving that the next thing is skyrocket and I use to have it at the back of my mind. With what you have said so far,  after halving I think skyrocketing depends.
151  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: invest for Capital preservation and capital appreciation: on: May 17, 2024, 09:15:48 AM
Op, I don't think there's any other reason why people invest if not for profit making and I don't think if there are people who invest for fun or to make loss. Bitcoin being stable or constant at a particular position or point won't be nice because it will really affect investors who deal on Bitcoin and some people can not be able to invest because of stability and there are people who wait for it to depreciate before they invest. However, I don't think bitcoin can be constant for years.
152  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Oyibo and Naija on: May 17, 2024, 08:50:35 AM
Ona good day oo, I just say make I yan ona waiting I been dey think when malaria and typhoid hold me, ona know say ehn anytime malaria and typhoid hold person, person go dey think so many things ( things wey fit dey possible and ones wey no fit dey possible) and sometimes e go be like say person dey think rubbish. Waiting I been dey think na, how Oyibo and Nigeria people dey smoke and drink. If you check well ehn you go see say most Oyibo people when dey smoke finish dem go, go take treatment and dem know the effect of waiting dem dey smoke or drink but Naija own dey very different, dey no go take treatment, dey no even know the effect of waiting dem dey smoke or drink, na waiting make sometimes you see plenty mad people for road because say dem take waiting their head no fit carry some self dey die.

However, make we relate this thing now to crypto, e get people wey be say before dey invest in any coin dey go first settle down come carry out analysis and even with the analysis dey no go invest anyhow but e get people wey be say as dey just here small thing concerning a particular coin dey don rush go invest regardless and if you check well na this set of people dey always say crypto no good, after dey don lost money for their own carelessness.
Ma people how ona see am.
153  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is bitcoin still stronger than stocks? on: May 15, 2024, 10:27:34 PM
Everybody has he's or her own. the main issue of cryptocurrenqcies these days can be either stable for a long period of time, or they can stay highly volatile for a long period of time. Nowadays, cryptos are more stable than stocks, but I don't think it will be a very long-lasting trend, because all traders are familiar with cryptos. this comparison can be determined only by a thorough technical analysis or a fundamental one if we talk about long-term intentions.
When I dey see all these threads,  I come dey imagine if this na really a local board because there is no atom of pidgin or local language. Even though we dey use two languages at least make we dey add small pidgin inside to make am say na local board. If everyone do like this then where be the sweetness of the local board. Oh yest Mr Op, bitcoin is definitely better than the so called "STOCKS" you dey tok about.

Na true you talk like this ooo, the way dey come dey speak the so called English for this local board no come gel at all but those people wey be say them go school and dey sabi this so called English most of them, dey find am difficult to speak this pidgin and sometimes too, dey go wan speak but they no go know when dem go start to deviate from am so I no go blame some people wey sabi speak English but as local board wey here be, we suppose to dey put small pidgin for our threads because na that pidgin differentiate us from other board and na that pidgin too dey show say yes na naija board be this.
154  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Advantages of Bitcoin halving on: May 15, 2024, 09:10:01 AM
If person wan sell their coins when Bitcoin halving dey very close, because dem wan put the money for altcoins, then dem no really know wetin dem dey do. Hodling Bitcoin as halving dey very close is a no-brainer and anybody wey don experience past halvings go make sure say dem hodl their coins. This year fit even bring something wey dey unprecedented as Bitcoin spot etf's were approved in the United states, so coupled with Bitcoin halving wey go soon happen, the price suppose pump very high, but make we see wetin go happen.

Exactly, sometimes I dey wonder if dey actually know waiting dem dey do because I no see any reason why person go sell bitcoin come go buy alt when halving dey very close. I think it's newbie that always do this because no investor will ever do that unless they have done some critical research and analysis on that particular alt they want to buy.
155  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As a newbie to crypto currency on: May 15, 2024, 08:47:05 AM
You're very correct to some extent but as a newbie you are advice to abstain from anything trading or engaging yourself in anything that you are not yet qualify to do. Rushing things can lead you to nowhere or a point you will regret your decisions that leads to that point and in order to avoid all these I will advice you calm down, read threads thoroughly, do thorough research and also ask question not just question but relevant ones because if you ask irrelevant question you will see reply that won't be funny.

 Good luck.
156  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Don't sell in loss on: May 15, 2024, 08:34:28 AM
Anyone who has the plan of moving forward in life I don't see any reason why he/she will sell when theeir investment is on loss and the initial reason for investment is to make profit after some period of time though sometimes pressing issues may arise and some people will sell but there also people that no matter any issues they won't sell.
157  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Patience is not enough for hodling Bitcoin on: May 15, 2024, 08:18:22 AM
Op, I will agree with you to an extent because some people who don't allow their investment to stay long is not because they don't have means of survival or what is giving them money. Some people are just like that, inpatient while some people no matter the hunger or situation they won't pull out their money till it get to the point or amount they need. And trust me, there are times patient is not suppose to be an option or consider because sometimes you might regret why you didn't do the needful. So long as you didn't pull out when you aren't on loss there's no problem.
158  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Bitcoin A Safe Haven Asset For Investment? on: May 15, 2024, 07:57:11 AM
I must tell you the truth there is nothing like a safe heaven. No one knows what the future would be, calling Bitcoin a safe heaven is like saying there is nothing that could possibly go wrong if we invest in Bitcoin. Investment is a risk and there is risk in investing in Bitcoin as an asset. The reason why Bitcoin is the most preferred asset that is being preached about to invest in is because it has proven itself over the years to not fail. And people who had invested in it has gotten good profit since the existence of Bitcoin.
I love the part you mentioned profit since existence but let’s be realistic, not everyone will even enjoy the benefit cause bitcoin investment is not an easy investment so an investor should not think because someone else invested and earn profit someone else can earn without understanding bitcoin investment . Aside the volatile market people get scared of what’s really the problem cause I don’t understand. When an asset is considered as a safe haven, you see demand endless, ability to regain value after an event. Inflation can’t affect bitcoin so what’s stopping bitcoin from being a valuable investment choice although no investment is risk free likewise other investment. From my opinion generally no investment is worth answering a safe haven, we can’t really tell 10 years from now what bitcoin investment will look like but, for the fact we hold and invest bitcoin remains a valuable investment.

You are absolutely right bitcoin investment is not an easy one but there are people who are going about it like it's nothing and I think the author of this article really tried and I can't really say that bitcoin is a safe haven but I think one of the thing that qualifies it is, low gas fee and again they have strong team and the  feelings when you invest in bitcoin is very different from when you invest on other coin. To an extent you are also right, we don't know what bitcoin will look like in the next 5-10 years because the coin is created by human not God but will hope and pray it continue to exist no matter what.
159  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Cryptocurrency have created more jobs for the youths than the goverments on: May 15, 2024, 07:25:54 AM
Jobs in Nigeria now is once in 20 years. It was in 2011, I noticed legit employment in my state and since then I have not heard anything until I finished school (College) in 2015 and in 2016 NPOWER came that many Nigeria Youths benefited from it, the purpose of that programme was good because when Osibanjo was in charge, everything was moving fine it was when Buhari put Sadia that everything went wrong. And she embezzled a lot rod funds and today she dey EFCC net.

And last year August Teachers Employment came out in my state and written exams and oral exams were conducted this year March till now nothing dey happen. Employment in Nigeria now na who know who and not by merit but by nepotism and favoritism. And because of all these things people dey tok say SCHOOL NA SCAM and not really means say going to school na scam but after going school with di certificate, no job, no work and now e don become a scam.

If no be bitcoin many youths would been in di lower class struggling what to eat daily but because of the cryptocurrency investment, trading, airdrops and other cryptocurrency activities, di youth, become self employed and do online businesses to survive without the government jobs again but the government is envy dat is fighting against those places wey di youth dey take dey eat. Di government e no mean well for the youth but to see them suffering.

I totally agree with all you have said so far but you saying that after graduating from school and nothing to work, say school don become scam. I don't really agree with this one oo because anything wey make you go school, graduate and come back don give you greater and bigger advantage to people wey no go because the experience wey you don get people wey no go school no fit get am even if them dey do well and if a graduate should engage themselves in that same particular thing they will do exploit, I mean better. If you check well for this forum we get people wey be graduate and people wey no be graduate and those people wey be graduate the way dey understand the forum based on how they think dey very different from person wey no be graduate and if you check their threads sometimes you go confuse because of the grammar and sentence arrangements, so I can never agree that school is a scam.
160  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Opportunity come but once. on: May 14, 2024, 11:33:13 PM
Greetings my fellow Naija LB users, I brought this topic to seek for good advice from this forum so that I will not miss it in life because, I keep hearing this statement that opportunity come but once but I don't know if my opportunity has come through this plan on ground. I came out from a popular community in my state where we use to do memorial burial every 4 years to honor our late father and, to  troll a big party that will make the childrens, youths, chiefs, Royal highness, government officials and politicians to be on ground on that memorial burial to join us to honor our super Hiro and, we use to entertain everyone in that burial with different foods and different drinks. We the children of my late father, we use to contributed #200,000 each in every 4 years to carry out the burial memorial activities and we are 5 in numbers that are alive which the total amount of money we used to spend for the burial is #1,000,000, and we have concluded to increase the money to #500,000 each since the price of commodities has increased higher in the country. And the burial memorial is coming up December 10th 2024 to make it 4 years and we have contributed #1,500,000 to finance the burial and they appointed me to hold the money till December 1st before the family will begin to use the money for the burial, and the money will be send to my account this month end. And I like BTC investment, I feel like investing the money in BTC since it will take like 9 months before they will demand for the money for the burial and, it look like my opportunity has come. Is it an opportunity for me to blow? Or my opportunity has not yet come? What is your advice to me on this.
This is a very serious temptation my dear. The recent momentum in Bitcoin is pointing to the fact that the next bull run will be massive and if you take this chance, that might earn you more than $2k if everything goes right.

But if you ask me, I will say you should follow my first rule of investment... never invest what you cannot afford to loose because nothing is guaranteed. Even though we are optimistic that next year will be great for Bitcoin, we are not sure how things will pan out. The bull run can linger until 2025 thereby putting you at the risk of damaging your reputation. So, I will advise you to weigh the advantages and disadvantages.

Unless perhaps you are credit worthy in the sense that you can source for the funds by the time it is needed should anything go south. Else, I will advise you to apply DCA to build your Bitcoin portfolio.

You are very correct, this is not just a temptation but a very big one and again I won't call this is an opportunity. This saying that opportunity come but once is somehow not true or correct to me, I will like it to be put this way " a particular opportunity come but once" reason Because that particular opportunity you missed will or may never come again but opportunities will still come but in different dimension or way. Just like I said using the money to invest is not a bad idea but the question is, can you replace it back before then if the investment goes wrong Because no one knows if BTC will actually skyrocket before December, we only predict and keep hoping.
