141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 12, 2024, 07:34:27 AM
This is one reason why most people prefer to stay indoors or gamble in private cause most persons view gambling as irresponsible or as a habit of some useless person, but what do I care, i know I'm not useless or irresponsible and I gamble with what you can afford to lose, some persons could decide to use their spare cash on drinking lots of alcohol and others smoking but I use mine to game what's the deal there.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 12, 2024, 07:27:45 AM
Gambling is not a very guaranteed source of income for you to use to double your money, infact i don't know any, yoi sjoudl have started preparing earlier and not now it's so late and urgent and worse of all you could end up losing it all in bets.

Your target is high, I'll advice you split it up into smaller odds and play live matches, you might have a better chance at winning than in casino games or simulation games.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: May 12, 2024, 07:16:08 AM
Well OP the whole compliant seems lame to me cause I don't seem to understand how gambling has contributed to the government not giving jobs or any country economic instability or incompetence, IMO gambling in its own way has help some persons to make money cause I know a guy or two that has a side hustle in gambling, they woudl never miss a weekend game for anything, they could spend hours indoors to book a game and most times it works fine for them, so when peopel talk like this I find it sentimental and out of point, gambling can't be the problem of the society, only the government.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 11, 2024, 12:07:11 PM
The current renovation of gambling revolvs around offers and big rewards and that has been what attracts a lot of people to gambling, yeah I think rewards is playing up big role in their business, and has kept a lot of customers, I like to see most casinos as using the devil's strategy, they offer you a lot for your little and yeah you jump in and they eat you up, mehn I love to own a casino someday.

Chelsea are ready to add to the ranks of wonderkids by launching a €55 million offer
for Palmeiras forward Estevao, who is regarded as one of the most promising players in world football.

https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2024/05/chelsea-transfer-news-estevao-bid

Here you go again. another player who is being compared to the best player in the world before he is even 18. I think this actually causes the player to be under a lot of pressure from the start of his career. The way Chelsea is performing right now it is already not good. They are probably performing their worst at this time which at least I have not seen them doing in the last five or six years.

So even if he is a really good player, how he is going to perform when he goes to Chelsea is a big question for almost everyone. I think it is better if they do not put such a burden on any young player like that from such an early stage of his career. Let him actually show some good potential against big opponents and then I think we could say something like that. But we are definitely expecting good future for this kid

I have never been in support of anyone like i am right now with you, Chelsea is more than having a hard time, they are the worst of the big 4 of Premiere league this season, they have shown high level of inconsistency and unreliability as a club, i know how to feel anytime I watch their matches, I I pity their fans supporting and coming to watch them play trash, Jackson must be sold alongside their coach, those are the bad seeds in Chelsea and Im sure if there leave maybe a little light would shine on the club.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 11, 2024, 11:54:52 AM
That'd why the government put laws on gambling and kept it for adults, so it's not okay, yeah some countries might have other laws against gambling but I don't think exposing children to such addictive habit is okay for them and it could destroy their lives if they are not careful.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Management on: May 11, 2024, 11:52:27 AM
I do multi-bets and single-bets, every time I win, sometimes I forget myself and use all my $$ on the next bet. This sometimes gives me big wins, but if I'm unlucky I can lose all my funds and this has happened many times.
This means that you are greedy. Do not mind me that I said that. I was like this before. I can win 10x and still continue to bet with the total money that I have and my winning together on a single bet. I even remember a time that I bet like $1 up to when I won $35 and I lost all at ones. It is called greediness and it happens to addicted gamblers. You will need to stop that because you are chasing money and not fun.

Like anyone of us here won't be greedy on a win, i know how many times ive played a game again with my capital back once I win a game and that's cause I felt luck so I want to try again, let's admit it it's not so easy to walk away especially if you have been winning, everyone gets greedy at some point.

If it works for you fine, you can continue with that. Try to be a little more strict it would help you a lot.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 11, 2024, 11:46:47 AM
Bro this quick rhetorical, is gambling an investment that you might want to allocate some amount to one monthly basis or do you consider it a source of income, yeah I understand that some has used gambling as a side income stream but my only advice here would be gamble with what you can afford to lose, if possible like a 5% allocation won't be possible bad since its nothing compared to the rest 95%, but make sure you have some wins if not that compiled over time woudl be up to a month's salary wasted on gambling.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 10, 2024, 11:40:52 AM
Some countries already have strict rule with respect to young people involving in gambling as illegal, but sincerely i also agree with them cause young people might not have developed good self control to be able to keep themselves from getting addicted to gambling.

Have you seen what pornographic contents do to underage children, they result to maturation and that is bad and those habits take a lot of time to fix even in adult hood, so it's best they stay off it.
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 10, 2024, 10:44:26 AM

Hey do you want to do an experiment on the difference of opinion. Maybe we could setup a thread with the two of us in, and setup some rules for the experiment. Im totally open to discussing and defining the rules but i was thinking something like this

Term - 12 months, split into 52 weekly time frames
Budget(Imaginary) - $5200
Exchange - Bitstamp for pricing buys
Changes Allowed - Sundays only and require to be posted on the thread.

I set dca up for a fixed weekly buy, at 5pm UTC on a Monday every week, and then record the imaginary btc amount in the thread. I can change my dca amount any week by posting in the thread on Sunday only  but cannot go past the Budget of $5200.

You post every Sunday in the thread with your market limit buys targeting your dip targets for that week Mon - Sun , if any hit during the week, you record the btc amount & price paid in the thread. You can cancel your limit buy orders after they stayed active for at least one week. You can set any amount to the limit buy orders but cannot go past the budget of $5200.

At year end we tally the total amount BTC, AVG Price, $Spent and see how we did.

This is not a bet/wagering opportunity just a simple experiment. Others ofc can bet on the outcomes tho.

Any interest?

First of all congrats on your new Full member rank!

What I see here is that you are trying to go on a bet with Tungbulu, but I'll tell you he is not ready yet, I feel most of the strategies he speaks about he does not practice it, but this is a challenge window and it is open for anyone who thinks his idea on bitcoin investment is valid. After all, we are all here to learn and correct our past mistakes or see opinions from other members.

I am really interested in the bet/wagering, I believe it will be more than just an experiment as a good accumulation would be gotten based on the term which is obviously a year period. You both can start I could use your strategies and play around with my new long-term goal. Besides by now Tungbulu would has suppose to respond to this.

Well I would prefer to tell you guys not to bet at all cause I know a gamble can be and one of you guys might take it too serious and get yourself into trouble, but if you guys would agree to do this just for a learning experience then it's nice, we could all learn from the comparison of both strategies, but I hardly see the need and I don't know how rich you guys are, but DCA has already proven to be a better method than most cause it supports all kind of investors, rich and average, newbie and experienced, and i have already b using it for myself, I've hardly tried any other strategy yer and I'm still keeping funds in my reserves for buying on dip, you guys can knock yourselves out as long as you stay and track and dint take this too far.
151  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 10, 2024, 09:57:09 AM
I had decided to stop reporting for a week now and let my numbers increase so when I give my report, everyone would be surprised, although i had already kept a journal of how each day of my excerise was and how many push-ups I was able to achieve during those time.

Day1
I was able to do a total of 150 pushups and It really strained my muscles and I had a lot of pain on my shoulder and when I asked my gym instructor from a gym I had registered sometime ago, he said it was because I wasn't getting the position of the pushup rightly.

Day2
I did only 50 pushup cause I couldn't bear the pain of it

Day3
I was able to do 80 pushups although the pain had subsided, i was a bit lazy and just wasn't well motivated for it.

Day 4
I was able to do 120 pushup

Day 5

150 pushups

Day6
 100 pushups

Day 7

175 pushups

This is to summary of may daily report since I was inactive here.

152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: May 10, 2024, 09:43:22 AM
I wonder why people find it difficult accumulating bitcoin with the little they have, aside the $100k speculation and other speculation
What I discovered that makes people find it difficult to accumulate bitcoin with the little they have is the act of greed or having high hopes of quick return, and lack of DYOR. While I say greed is that most people overhead people talks about how people became rich from bitcoin investment they never did a proper research to know exactly how it is, to know that it is only the Long term HODLers that make it in bitcoin investment, out of much excitement thinking that they have found the shortest court to wealth, they didn bother to have an insight into bitcoin Investment and what it entails, they used out of greed and put all their money in bitcoin. After waiting for some time the results they got was different from what they heard, that is why most people invest what they can't afford and sell off quickly at lost. For the $100k speculation, that was exactly what drage most of them to invest.

To me I don't really think it's greed, what I think is that, most of this low class people are actually struggling to survive, they can barely feed three square meal a day, and when in such a terrible situation, the thing that mostly comes into your mind is where the next meal is going to come from, am saying this because I have been in that kind of space at a point in my life, during that time it will be extremely difficult to think of anything else aside how you are going to have your next meal, so I don't actually think it's greed.

Lastly, due to how inflation have taken over every price of goods and services in the state, it's very difficult to squeeze out something that will be used to DCA into Bitcoin, but if they manage to do it, by starving themselves from most things, it wouldn't be unsustainable on the longer run, because at some point they would have to temper with their few holding when encountering some financial difficulties, since they don't have that leverage of having an emergency fund.

You might be right but at same time would I be advisable to invest into anything when you are already in a state of emergency, from my experience anyone who isn't balanced or have a steady income should not invest at all, cause can you hold when you cashflow isn't balanced or even steady and you always going to find yourself in need from time to time, that's is very unrealistic to me, such persons should first get himself in oder before thinking of investing, think of it this way can I prioritise investing in bitcoin over my food or shelter, the answer is no cause this are very basic needs for everyone, but if I had some spare money that I can save then it's possible.

For a person that is poor, it's most advisable for then to invest with spare money or money they won't be needing cause you know any money you put in bitcoin should not be touched untill the desired investment time.
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 10, 2024, 09:07:41 AM
Be versatile
Be realistic
Be sensible
Be good on handling emotions

Market is something that cant really be predicted as always. Dont expect or anticipate on something or you are that expecting to happen because if it doesnt then disappointment would comes next.
Buy when there's an opportunity when the market dips or corrects and sell out if it do really be able to hit up your selling point or level then it would really be just like that.
Yes, it do really sounds basic but on the time that you would really be making out such decision then it would really be that so hard on doing such thing.
So results and outcomes would really be that different to each person on which its not really that shocking on this case.

This advice would mostly work for traders and not holders cause they they actually looking at two different things, a trader woudl mostly be concerned about making sure that thigns go as planned and woudl try to anticipate market trends and all that but a holder would be looking at things from a stand point of investment maturity which would be to hold his bitcoin for a longer time frame, when the market dips he would be thinking of getting more bitcoin for himself.

A trader would have more problem with handling his emotions while a long term holder would know that his plan is to accumulate bitcoin for long term and corrections or fluctuations would be the least of his concerns, trading Bitcoin to me is a losers habit cause you are actually playing with one of the world's best asset now and worse of all trading requirements are much higher than a long term holder, I won't advice any newbie to go there.
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC sold for 16 BTC-1 mil USD on: May 10, 2024, 08:10:16 AM
-

would it be worth more as this Einstein note over time?

https://edition.cnn.com/style/article/einstein-handwritten-notes-auction/index.html

*In terms of FIAT not in terms of 16 BTC ...

I mean in terms of FIAT stricktly, would it be a good investment comparing with a paper like the Einstein one or compared with a Football, Pokemon card etc

It seems to be a historical collectible just like the newspaper where BTC was mentioned for the first time...(I do remember an auction for the paper was held on this forum, but can't find the link anymore, if someone can add it in this thread its merit worthy imo...)

Could this BTC outperform a lot of them? It could act like a cool piece on the wall, but better like some famous paintings etc??

Pieces with historical mentionings got value, but whats the correct price or how can we value a specific paper like this one and which will follow this Buy Bitcoin paper in the future?
There gotta be more of them...

This is an interesting discussion to have, but I doubt there are any reliable frameworks to come up with a "true and fair" value. At the end of the day, it only needs one freakish investor down the line who wants that piece of paper from you and is willing to pay 3 times the price. I am sure that most of us here have been shocked at times reading how much people are willing to pay for the weirdest items. One example: First-generation iPhone sells at auction for $190,373, or nearly 380 times its original price

If I had ever thought that this would one day be possible, I'd have stocked up on those iPhones. I believe this things like the paper you mentioned can indeed have value. But how much? I stopped being shocked about collectible items or historical papers and how much they can make you in an auction. To anticipate values is so difficult because as a response some people will collect some electronics out of principle just to realize that those items will never be as valuable as this aforementioned iPhone generation.

I think it could be dependent on the narrative that you yourself could put out in public. If there was an auction of a pokemon card, isn't there huge incentive for the pokemon inventor (company or whoever) to go there and pay an absurd price? Stuff is all over the place in the media and people start buying these cards hoping they get lucky or something.

I had still been giving a lot of thoughts to this topic and I still feel that this wasn't a coincident or just some show off of wealth, I think he was trying to pass a message of BITCOIN IS THE BEST or get normal folks to see some kind of reason to get bitcoin, note he didn't pay in fait, I still believe that bitcoin is a better kind of money than fait and any wealth folk would already know that it's better to pay in fait than in bitcoin, ikay yeah if he didn't have any money around, its woudl be so easy for him to write a check or maybe a loan from the bank and that would be so easy for him, but rather he chose to pay in bitcoin, and what woudl do you think of that?, to me a it's a word of advice, if you want to get rich, BUY BITCOIN.
155  Economy / Economics / Re: Prioritizing strong foundation over quick gains on: May 09, 2024, 05:00:58 PM
The desire to see quick results of our efforts can be very tempting and some folks in a bid to get results would normally prefer shortcuts to get wealth over following the real process that involves investing time, effort, and resources into developing skills, building relationships, and creating value in themselves that will lead to a sustainable long term success.

Pursuing of quick gains will only push you into getting involved in get rich quick schemes and activities that only guarantee short term incentives and wouldn't allow you invest and develop yourself. It's one of the reasons why people prefer to diversify thier investment into meme coins and other short termed project because they are just after possible immediate results rather than focusing their investment in an asset like Bitcoin  that's known to grow steadily overtime or alternatively investing in themselves which is a sure way to increase your value in the long run.

Setting out strong foundation that's aimed at supporting long term gain is the best thing you can do for yourself and regardless of the fact that you might not be getting quick results like short term investors and individuals, the benefit that comes with long term investment in the right thing  will always supercede any quick gain that's mostly for short sighted individuals.

There is always a line between doing something the right way and overdoing it, when it comes to matters of quick profits most individuals also forget that they is also a high possibility of risk involved In it and hence when things go wrong if they had invested to much in such schemes they bear a much heavier weight of regret than most.

IMO whether it is a long term investment or short term investment, if you can mange the risk and do it the right way you can be successful. Memecoins bear a quite significant risk of failure and very little do well, so if anyone wants to invest in such he should approach with very little money.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: May 09, 2024, 04:53:44 PM
Gambling is a game of uncertainty and most times people believe that having faith that a game would play often gives them hope that it woudl play out fine and works for some person, over confidence might not be that bad unless you go to far to stake so high just because you think it must happen and that is wrong because its a game of luck and uncertainty.

Greed is a fools habit in gambling, why get greedy it's not your money although often times people tend to stake high because they want to win more and I prefer to say that not everyone that stakes high is greedy cause the rule is simple the more you stake the higher your win , and most people tend to follow that rule too much.
157  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Nigerian passport ranked among worst globally on: May 09, 2024, 04:52:46 PM
The Nigerian passport has been ranked among the worst on the globe highlighting significant challenges for Nigerian travelers seeking international mobility.

As a Nigerian,if you are traveling outside Africa, once you present your International passport at the airport,if other nationals are been search for 10mins, you as a Nigerian you will be thoroughly search for at least 45mins which is very bad.

https://punchng.com/list-nigerian-passport-ranked-among-worst-globally/

What did you expect?, a warm welcome, they literally tag Nigerian criminal in other countries, in they blame us for a the scam going on in the world and worst of all the African government are considered unimportant in the world and I don't blame them, they would always go around seeking help as if they can't do shit for themselves, look at our country its a mess and everybody is thinking of running away.
158  Economy / Economics / Re: A lot wealthy people not smart they just use debt on: May 09, 2024, 04:42:33 PM
Wealthy people love debt. Unlike the poor people who just want to get out of debt as fast as possible, the wealthy are looking for more ways to increase their debt. In school I was taught that there are two types of debt the good debt and the bad debts.

Wealthy people are in the good type debt. Good debt is money borrowed to invest in a business like real estate , restaurants, or property whose value will bring in more money than the debt. However bad debt is there borrowed to buy liabilities. This is where the wealthy are smart. Their debts are the good kind of debt that increases their wealth despite being in debts.

As my economics professor would say, Using someone else's money (debt) to increase your own wealth is a skill the wealthy have mastered.

Debt has never been a bad thing it's just used wrongly by most common folks, have you ever wondered why bank gladly borrow money to business men even if they are owing?, that's because they make money of the little percent they take as interest.

If you take loan to invest in a business then you have made a good use of a loan and if you use it for personal needs like buying food or living luxury then you just created a mess for yourself to solve later.
159  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: May 09, 2024, 04:33:25 PM
If I get you right, you want to invest in bitcoin as a health insurance, that's lame bro, how would you know the money would be there when you need it, you know that bitcoin is normally volatile and it's very possible that the market could be on a down trend when you need that money, facts like this makes what your thinking of doing lame.

And yeah we must invest with what we are ready to lose and sure you can't afford to lose your emergency funds and if something goes wrong you put yourself in a very bad situation than you expected. Keep your emergency funds in cash and invest in bitcoin for long term so you don't get wreaked.
160  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting a business without capital. on: May 09, 2024, 04:22:03 PM
Is very possible starting up a business without capital all you need is your ability of pursuing success.
Affiliate marketing is a business you can venture into without capital and still make good money from it, even more than some businesses started with capital.
Affiliate marketing is the process by which a person earns a commission for marketing another person's products.
All you need to start this business is good communication skill in other to sell the product of the other person and get a commission for doing that.
You can decide to market product of different company or person's at same time by doing this you are sure that everyday someone will buy from one of those product's there by making money every day.
When you become an expert in affiliate marketing you will start making profit every day of your life.

That's the lie they feed you, have you done affiliate marketing before yourself?, I've did affiliate marketing for two years and yeah while it was productive for me I knew many others that quite by the way, affiliate marketing costs money cause to get more reach you might need to run ads and it also cost you to meet influencers to promote your page or profile for you.

Unless you want to go the hard way of spending years building up an Affiliate portfolio and audience, money is speed bro.
