Since you display when the block started this pool is vulnerable to hoppers
It's already used by hoppers. Most hoppers stopped using it now since the server cant handle the traffic, way to many idleminers and way to many connection timeouts for hoppers or normal users. Not worth the hassle. Actually, looking at their stats, this pool is getting hammered by hoppers like a twenty dollar hooker https://bitclockers.com/statistics . ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

Wikipedia citation - The idea was first put forward in 1995 by Nancy Lieder, founder of the website ZetaTalk. Lieder describes herself as a contactee with the ability to receive messages from extra-terrestrials from the Zeta Reticuli star system through an implant in her brain. She states that she was chosen to warn mankind that the object would sweep through the inner Solar System in May 2003 (though that date was later abandoned) causing Earth to undergo a pole shift that would destroy most of humanity. The predicted collision has subsequently spread beyond Lieder's website and has been embraced by numerous Internet doomsday groups, most of which link the event to the 2012 phenomenon. Although the name "Nibiru" is derived from the works of late ancient astronaut writer Zecharia Sitchin and his interpretations of Babylonian and Sumerian mythology, Sitchin denied any connection between his work and various claims of a coming apocalypse.Yep, that sounds even more credible than Solidcoins ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Awesome stuff, thanks for digging it up! Reminds me of an old Gandhi quote, "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

If bitcoin "collapses", it will take at least 10 years for people to believe in any cryptocurrency again (or even dare mention it). And certainly not one based on the same source code...
Damn man, you have to be seriously deluded to believe this. Yeah but it sounds damn dramatic. Never mind that your average person has the attention span of a TV commercial...

solid coin is solid
Wow, they were lucky to call it that then. Imagine if they had called it Softcoin or something... no soldiness ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Ummm is it perpetually solid, or just within certain temperature range, or during certain Priapism-like circumstances? Maybe upon reaching a saturation point it becomes Softcoin? Mindboggling stuff here...

Nice! I am all in ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Just wanted to get some other opinions here. Seems like this forum has been overrun by a few users who post continuously in a need to astroturf. Its also turned into a ground where it is free for hate speech and spreading false rumors. Worse of all, it seems to have been effective and the false information is spreading to other websites. So, has this forum outlived its value, and is it time for the honest bitcoin community to take up new grounds?
I think they should just rename the site to SolidCoinAstroturf...Or whatever the alternate currency scam of the day is... I am new here but I find the amount of disinformation alarming. The good news is there are still tons of amazingly cool people who are selflessly contributing REAL knowledge. As long as thats in place, I am here.

What about smaller pool like eligius.st? Seems like a steady payout regardless of block size. They outpaced BTCGuild and Bitclockers for me. Does Deepbit payout more than them?

TeamViewer lets you log in remotely, even though a smart-phone ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I am proficient with Linux, but I also dragged a bunch of my friends into Bitcoin mining, so I had to set up and debug a newbie friendly rig that could be easily replicated without me having to teach Linux and answer questions at odd hours ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) , hence the Windows 7 setup. I also got a Backtrack 5 R1 based setup that runs off a 16GB Micro SD but thats a story for another time...

With all the 5970 cards I hope folks find this info useful and share their experiences. I am running a total of 5x5970 in two mining systems under Windows 7 and GUIMiner. Drivers:ATI 11.7 drivers appear to be the most stable so far. I had absolutely miserable time trying to clock down the memory under 11.8 below 500, kept crashing. Under 11.7 I am able to clock down the memory to 250, and overclock the core to 785 without any problems and without screwing around with the voltage. At 785/250 I am squeezing around 720 MHs per card. I am sure I can squeeze a little bit more but I really like the 79C the cards settled at. OCing Software:I use the Sapphire Trixx 4.0.2 http://www.sapphireselectclub.com/ssc/TriXX/TriXX.aspx to handle the core overclocking and memory underclocking. Once the parameters are set, I kill Trixx and run the MSI Afterburner http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm because it has nice temp/GPU usage display that I can check remotely. If this doesnt sound very efficient, I apologize - I AM QUIRKY Mining Software:GUIMiner - Extra Flags -v -w256 -f1Remote Access Software:Teamviewer http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx its free and works great. Thank you!

We should have an "Obvious attempts at false market rumors" subforum and move these posts there.
