141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [ANN] Golden Week Stand Down on: April 27, 2012, 07:28:18 AM
https://support.mtgox.com/entries/21332121-golden-week-stand-down

Hello Mt.Gox Users,

Japan will soon be entering "Golden Week", a week-long series of public holidays that lasts from the 29th of April until the 5th of May. As a result, users should be aware that International Wire Transfers to or from our SMBC Japan bank account will be delayed by up to a week during this period. Furthermore, Mt.Gox Support will be entering a limited stand down during this period. Support requests will still be actioned, but there may be a slight delay as we will be operating with reduced staffing.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our international customers, and hope to return to business as usual soon. As always, any questions relating to this can be forwarded to support@mtgox.com.

Thank you.

Mt.Gox Support

PS I double checked the order and it was def made in AUD.

What about the intermediary Bank? Anyway as my colleagues told you via Support, we recieved the fund in YEN... So someone at one point made the conversion. Can't wait for having our new Deposit and withdrawal system running!

143  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX - International Wire Transfer Has Not Arrived After 24 Days on: April 26, 2012, 09:24:38 AM
I got a confirmation from Mt Gox that they had received the funds I sent them in Yen (I sent in AUD) and they wanted a 2.5% charge to credit my account. I agreed.

They told me they funds would hit my account within 24 hours. Its been over that now.

Sad

Strange, it should have been proceed by now, could you please check again? Now regarding the AUD to YEN, as my colleagues told you, this is not our fault, but rather your Bank who decided to convert your AUD into YEN and charged you with conversation rate and other fees. We never received AUD, just YEN. As we advised you please go and complain to your Bank regarding this matter.

Also to anyone, this problem seems to happen time to time where Banks take the decision to convert the money you are sending to Mt.Gox and by doing so they charge you additional fees and other conversion rates. Please make sure before sending any funds that the bank will not do that and if they do go and ask to be refunded for their mistakes. Anyway we are working on solving this problem once and for all and with very competitive fees.

I have been affected a lot by this, I cant afford to have to wait for funds like this everytime. In the past, 3 business days was great imo but now its just way too long, until than I am going to try out spendbitcoins.com internetional wire. Can any one chime in there experience using this option? It seems like a great alternative

Once again, we are sorry for your troubles and as you have experienced it in the past our service was usually fast for you (And still very fast for many others untouched by this problem). We are working on a fix right now and our new service for deposit and withdraw will surely win your heart back again!

Thank you

Hi Everyone,

I know that you are all upset with the situation and that many of you are really frustrated. To be honest, a lot of small things occurring in a short period of time has caused some withdrawals to be delayed for certain customers. I can assure you that this is not a common issue, and only a small number of people are affected by this.

Now, while this will not help to solve the problem for the affected users, rest assured that we are actively working on improving the speed and reliability of our transactions, since it is for us of the utmost importance! Also we are working on a revamped withdrawal and deposit system that will be not only cheaper but also much faster and far more convenient that what we have today. I have no ETA for you on this, but we are working like crazy to make it happen soon

Once again, we are very sorry for the delays that some of you are suffering from, please remember that we are not stalling or forgetting you, we are working on it case by case!

What issues? Tell us more. Otherwise it just sounds like a company is about to bust. This is what usually happens just before a foreclosure.

I do not have all details since I am not directly link to this part of Mt.Gox. Anyway rest assure we are far from foreclosure, WAY FAR... Once again everything should go back to normal soon for the few of you how have been touch by this problem.

Regards

The api link is currently down, when will it be back up?

We just tested the API on our "Super Map Store" beta site and the system work just fine. Can you please give us the message, if any, of the error?

Cheers

I guess I don't see what I have to install on my server to get this up and running.

Like where is this downloadable Magento plugin? I thought I would be able to download some software from your website.

Hi, Magento is not yet ready, we are waiting for our dev to update us on this. As for the API, well you need your dev team to have a look at the API and API documentation to adapt our system to your needs.

Any expectation on the completion of this plugin yet?

Soon, I know this is not the kind of answer you would like to hear, but we are working on it and other payment stuff at the same time that are basically all connected which explain the delay.

Cheers

BitInstant and Mt.Gox are proud to announce a convenient new deposit method for our American customers: Cash Deposits via BitInstant.com!

The cash deposits via Bitinstant utilizes the service of TrustCash, and allows for quick, affordable and local deposits to be made by our customers in the United States.

For customers who are unaware, you can find the new method in the “Add Funds” section of the “Funding Options” page. Once selected this new cash deposit method will redirect you to a dedicated page hosted by TrustCash that will help you find your nearest bank. Please note that cash deposits require a minimum deposit of $20 USD, and that your email details will be sent to bitInstant once you start the process.

oh no

I'm sure Gox will be getting lots of heat about this from frustrated users like me...

Well it seems that everything is now back to normal. And it never affected deposits!

Cheers

Sorry, Mt.Gox, but I feel a need to pen the following--half joking/half serious.

I've yet to read any posts of people having problems with depositing funds into Mt Gox. I've read many a posts about users having problems getting funds out. To be fair, somewhere north of 50% of the time I'm on Mt Gox's side. It's a shame I'm nowhere near 100%.

Thank you for understanding my position.

Sincerely,

Bruno

Believe it or not, but unfortunately in the "deposit/Withdraw" conundrum banks are often to blame. This said, we are working day by day to improve things and we will have, normally, something pretty rock-solid to announce in this regards. Things are not perfect and we are working hard here to change this. I just wish we could have the chance to all meet in person and have the chance for you guys to see how things are done, as well as share experience bad or good in order to move things forward.

Dear CyberPhunk.

Please check your account, I believe that the $25.18 USD are now back. We are sorry that it took so much time to fix this error, but, unlike Bitcoins transactions, Banks love to take their time send money back. And while we did not get them yet, we had a conformation yesterday that they are on their way, so we could finally credit your account of $25.18 USD.

Once again sorry that it took so long

Regards

So. you'll still keep the $50 that was caused by the failure of your employee, basically charging me for it? Nice!

It seems that you do not understand how bank fees work in the case of a withdraw, unfortunately banks, not US, take a Huge chunk of money when you go to opt for an international wire, in your case half of what you sent. The $25.18 that we gave you back is what the Banks sent us back from your initial withdraw and what you should have actually received.

Anyway if you do not want to use International Withdraw please use BitInstant.

Good luck

Will this system allow our site to accept customers to purchase something valued in bitcoin with any of the mtgox-accepted funding methods as well?

Say im selling a 1BTC starbucks map, can a user go to the checkout, pay 3,6 EUR (or whatever current market value is) with SEPA and when processed, we will receive the 1BTC?

As stated in our press release, this system is so far for BTC to BTC, than you will have the choice to convert and withdraw your money manullay. However, soon, we will have an automatic system that will convert your BTC into USD, EUR automatically and trigger a withdraw or not (Your choice).

Another "Part" of our all E-commerce solution will be launched / announced Tuesday, this system is more "user" friendly and will help people to sell product or being paid in BTC without the needs for coding.
