141  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Has anyone use bit*ly? on: November 08, 2015, 04:37:22 PM
Are you referring to the link tracking? If yes then the site works fine. It does what it does so yea.
Na I am talking about the dark website. It's related to bitcoins.(And totally different from link shortener)
Why can't you give us the site's actual name? You're confusing people with having bitly in the topic name, most people are going to think you're talking about the link shortener, rather than the darknet website.
142  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: November 08, 2015, 04:33:44 PM
Looks like the bot isn't working... My stats aren't showing up, and I tried inputting a couple other user ID's in the campaign as well and nothing shows up when searching for them. Is anybody else having similar issues?
143  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 6? Any owners out there? on: November 08, 2015, 03:16:38 AM
I may end up ordering one from the site. Price has a bit of a premium but they do take paypal, so some protection if they never ship me anything.

If I do I will post a review.
Would you be purchasing it mainly for reviewing, or to actually try and turn a profit? If you're looking for a profit, wouldn't purchasing an S7 make more sense? Right now you can purchase a 4.05 TH/s Antminer S7 for 4 BTC (higher hashrate, less cost than the Avalon 6) which would be arriving probably around Christmas time. The site you linked to has no mention of shipping dates. Plus, the S7 is more efficient than the Avalon 6, it seems like an S7 would be a better investment if you're looking to make some money.
144  Other / Meta / Re: Activity rising too fast ... ! Bug? on: November 01, 2015, 06:10:06 PM
Looks like you have 56 potential activity, since you've posted during 4 activity periods ( 4 x 14 = 56) . Once you hit that activity, your activity will stop increasing until the next activity change (which I believe is due on the 9th of November). Then on the 9th you will get another 14 potential activity points, allowing you to achieve member rank with another four posts (since member rank is achieved at 60 activity).
145  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S7 Setup [HD] on: November 01, 2015, 03:07:31 PM
So the pci connection on top of the S7 is purely for powering the control board? I'm thinking of running each S7 off an EVGA 1600, but I need another port on the PSU for the controller.
Look into purchasing a molex to PCI-e adapter to get that extra PCI-e connector for powering the controller. I'm using a couple of those adapters with an EVGA 1300W G2 and everything has been working just fine. Small piece of advice, if you've purchased a new GPU recently they often come with one or two of these adapters, so you could use that instead of purchasing another for $4.
146  Economy / Reputation / Re: Best way to get reputation as a lender? on: November 01, 2015, 04:40:29 AM
Is this why people lend/borrow such micro amounts in the lending section? To gain (or farm) trust?
I've noticed the same thing. Take this user for example. The majority of his positive feedbacks (trusted and untrusted)  are for deals under 0.1 BTC, and in the end he ripped someone off for 0.065 BTC.

Not sure why someone would do that though, he would have made way more than 0.065 BTC by just selling his account.
147  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary one day? on: October 31, 2015, 09:39:17 PM
I guess it's time to have a new title after legendary. :v

I'll get there someday, probably 7 - 9 months from now (lol I wish). 306338 seems lucky for me. Smiley

There's no doubt there will be new titles after the legendary one, but it would be nice if they would unlock based on more than just pure activity.
It would add a bit more thrill to the chase, and it would make people appreciate it more.
Maybe adding of animated avatar for new membership, and a custom frame for username. It's shame that legendary rank doesn't have some of these "perks"

I wouldn't be so sure of them adding a rank higher than Legendary, it already takes over two years of being active on the site to become Legendary. Only ranks really higher than that are for Donors and Staff members, and I don't see that changing.

As for the animated avatar bit, I know myself as well as others would prefer not to have any animated avatars on the site. Some avatars can be annoying already, I don't really want to see any animated ones. Plus, IIRC last time animated avatars were allowed, it opened up an exploit in the site.
148  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (WTS) USA only - 9 Antminer S7 and 4 S5 - Updated on: October 31, 2015, 06:53:13 PM
It looks like all the S7 PSU's are EVGA's, which model are they?
Looks like they're all 1300W G2 PSU's. If you look closely you can see the 1300 part on the PSUs on the lower racks.
149  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollin.io Scam on: October 28, 2015, 08:58:03 PM
rollin.io is scam, they can control your roll, Do not play on this site, you have been warned, they can control the number when you roll

Play on this site if you want to lose all your money to them, they can control the numbers you roll, it is the truth

 Roll Eyes

Have any proof of your claims?
150  Other / Meta / Re: Trust farming on: October 16, 2015, 09:37:04 PM
If you are in the DefaultTrust network and you give out trust feedback for microtrades then you will be targeted by trust farmers and you are just as guilty for trust farming as the person who is targeting DT members to trade with of trust farming.

I agree with blazed that you should be held to a higher standard if you are in the DefaultTrust network. If someone has a bunch of positive trust for microtrades and you have a high trust score then it will be difficult to tell that you should not be trusted with large amounts of money, especially considering that the comments attached to trust ratings are often vague and as a result many people will not look at them.

Exactly this. I'm really happy when I see DT members saying specifically on their profile that they don't leave feedback for trades under x BTC. Giving positive feedback for microtrades can really give users a false sense of security, similar to what Blazed mentioned. tspacepilot only has one positive DT feedback for an actual trade, and has 5 more positive ratings that aren't relevant to trades at all. He'll have a +50 trust score soon enough for doing one trade, and getting caught up in some drama on the site a few months ago, that doesn't seem right.
151  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos - IP Needs Unbanning on: October 11, 2015, 08:55:50 PM
...The bot seems to get errors very often and the people's post don't get counted, but we always get paid!
That might be the place to start then. If the bot is buggy as mentioned then I wouldn't be putting my faith in it following the 1 page per second rule. There are a few other bots on the forum that have been around for quite awhile without ever having ban issues, so I think the bot coding should probably be looked at and refined to make sure it won't get banned again in the future (if the IP is ever unbanned).
152  Economy / Lending / Re: [REQUEST] 0.33 BTC on: October 11, 2015, 08:48:30 PM
I will do it for the account as collateral.

Ok, I trust you.

What's the procedure for transferring an account?  Do i just change the password and send you info.
He'll probably want a signed message from you as well, just in case you default on the loan, but that's basically how most account collateral loans go down.
153  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Kali linux on: October 11, 2015, 08:21:26 PM
EDITED MESSAGE :

Just another question if you don't mind , how safe is the Electrum wallet that comes with tails ? and there is something that I can't seem to understand really ... which is Live using USB if I use the wallet which is by default on tails then reboot my PC and run the USB once again , will I find the bitcoins gone (if I don't save the seed) ? which means Live USB dosen't save anything ? so whats the point

I can 't seem to understand this https://tails.boum.org/doc/encryption_and_privacy/your_data_wont_be_saved_unless_explicitly_asked/index.en.html
Adding onto what Abdussamad said, basically how Tails works (to my understanding) is that it all runs in memory and no information is saved to the USB, unless you explicitly tell Tails to save data (persistent volume).

So if you were to use Electrum with Tails with all default settings, what you'd initially have to do is generate a new Electrum wallet, and save the master public key for later use (when you request payments and such). You wouldn't put your bitcoins at risk by storing your master public key on an infected computer, as all you can do with that file is generate public keys for the private keys that Electrum generates.

Then, if you wanted to spend bitcoin, you'd have to boot up Tails, recover your Electrum wallet by entering your seed and send the coins.

tl;dr: Tails and Electrum should be a safe combination. You'll need to remember your Electrum seed to send bitcoin if you're using a completely live version of Tails since the USB won't save any data.
154  Other / Meta / Re: correct 'quote' syntax in forums like this on: October 11, 2015, 08:06:14 PM
I find that if you have a long quote such as:

Quote
Quote
Quote
Quote
The original message
inside of another message
inside of a THIRD message
and might as well add a fourth for good measure
And then finally your reply here.

Often the early messages (original, second, maybe even third) aren't even relevant anymore. When quoting a long group of quotes to me it would make sense to remove the early messages, and leave only the messages that my post is responding to. It goes from the above example to something like this:

Quote
and might as well add a fourth for good measure
And then finally your reply here.

Much easier to work with when you're typing up a message, plus the post is easier to read.
155  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: October 03, 2015, 04:33:39 AM
Slight nostalgia for the old site, but progress..........................
Looks like the OLD website is no longer available.

While the new site is great, I really grew accustomed to the old "statistics" page.

Anyone else out there missing the old site?Huh
I'm missing the old site as well.. the new site is definitely much better overall, but having the old site option was still pretty neat to go back and check out every once and awhile.
156  Other / Meta / Re: Why is non-consensual release of personal information allowed? on: September 17, 2015, 11:53:13 PM
To my understanding the forum allows stuff like that to be posted because they believe in free speech, and releasing a user's public info falls under that, as long as the information was legally obtained and is/was publicly accessible.

But in lots of the doxxing cases I'm not so sure that all the information was obtained in legal ways, however I don't think those posts are ever removed either.
157  Other / New forum software / Re: You have been mentioned in this "post" on: September 06, 2015, 03:52:28 AM
Seems like a great idea..

I fully support this idea... but it can be kind of spammed so idk about it... like someone like vod would be getting mentioned every minute

I just got notified I was mentioned....
How do you monitor where your name is mentioned in postings here?

My post was a joke.  There is currently no way.  The OP is asking for such a way to be implemented.
Okay yeah I knew he was looking for a way, didn't realize you were kidding.  Tongue

But I'd be supportive of something like this too, if you could mention them by saying @username. I've seen it implemented on other sites and it's definitely useful to bring a user's attention to a thread.

159  Other / Meta / Re: The reputation system here needs to be de-centralized, get rid of default trust on: September 01, 2015, 09:33:07 PM
I find it kind of odd that some user's trust ratings count more than others, that their feedback is displayed by default.
It is odd.  The idea of the trust settings was that people should decide for themselves who's feedback to value, unfortunately, an implementation error has led to a special few who are encharged with 'looking out for the rest of us'.  Some of them dont' really seem to want this responsibility, others have fought like wolverines to try to get it.  I have sympathy for the former group and distrust for the latter.
The problem with having all trust ratings equal would be trust spamming. Although a user may be very reputable, if all trust ratings from all accounts were worth the same amount, someone could ruin their reputation with just a few, brand new accounts. Having all trust ratings equal doesn't make sense to me, I think the system works fairly well right now but obviously there will always be some problems with whatever trust system is implemented.
160  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DjVoodoo/Crazytragator sent me fraudulent Amazon cards and demanding payment on: August 27, 2015, 01:36:28 AM
People would be more willing to believe you if you could provide some proof that you shipped the gold back to Amazon... Right now it's just your word saying that you shipped it back, when Amazon uses trackable parcels for their shipments. You should have a tracking number and receipt from dropping it off at the post office. I've mailed plenty of packages through pre-paid Canada Post and I've always received a receipt confirming the drop off when I give it to the post office worker. Even though I'm in Canada, I suspect things work similarly in the States with USPS.

If you don't have a tracking number then you should have an email conversation with Amazon discussing the returning of the gold, from what I see you haven't posted any proof of that either. If for some reason you don't have that, you could always let a trusted escrow into your Amazon account to prove that the status of your gold order is returned, or similar to that. But like I said, it's difficult to believe you with no solid proof that you returned the gold purchased from Amazon.
