141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The longer you play poker the better you become ? on: June 12, 2019, 01:29:41 PM
What do you think can be a consistent winning player on this game? is this game of skills or luck?
the longer you play more skills you get?

its a game of both, u might win 60% of the games u enter but u will allways lose some games thanks to luck what ever you do, but its not a game where u get bette from just playing u need to study what ur doing wrong and what other people are doing right, its not a easy game to become good at.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinshares research: 74% of Bitcoin mining is powered by renewable energy on: June 12, 2019, 01:28:02 PM
Anyone seen this report?

https://coinshares.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/MiningWhitepaperJun2019FinalForeword.pdf

Quote
Finally,   using   a   combination   of   estimates   of global  mining  locations  and  regional  renewables penetrations   we   again   calculate   the   Bitcoin  mining  industry  to  be  heavily  renewables-driven. Our   current   approximate   percentage  of renewable   power   generation   in   the   Bitcoin mining  energy  mix  stands  at  74.1%,  more  than four times the global average.

Do you agree with this report though? I'm not into mining and I don't have any idea what the numbers are. But I'm sure there is a lot of 'experts' in our community here.

if this is correct then its amazing, that has been a big factor for al the btc haters that the energy consumption is destroying the world, but if its green energy thats a big deal.

"I say if you do not become a millionaire in the next 10 years, then it’s your own fault."

It's a big statement! An 18 year old male who grew up in an affluent family, is not a good fit for making such statement! Becoming a millionaire doesn't make you eligible for such statements!

People come from different backgrounds, different financial situations and different family situations! To get a different perspective of life, speak to a slum boy someday!

a bit cocky from someone that cant even grow a beard, alot of young people think they have it all figured out, its called the everest effect, congrats to him for being rich, hope he will not lose it all thanks to bad investments like alot of us Cheesy

145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling frustration and depression on: June 09, 2019, 05:11:14 PM
Frustration and depression come mostly when we make gambling as the main way to get money and we play beyond our limits. I experienced such feeling too in the past just before I realized that gambling could lead me into the hard situation if I keep playing and obey my greed.

That is what a poor mindset does. A person having a poor mindset will always think of a way that he or she can do to make easy bucks.
Therefore it will always be a matter of decision making. Tho, by this depression there are also some who can overcome the said situation and will go back more prepaired , much wiser and careful.

easy money dont exist and all the people chasing easy money getting burned sooner or later, if its in gambling, crypto or stocks its all the same easy mone dont exist,
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling.. way to loss on: June 09, 2019, 05:09:38 PM
In Crypto World, Gambling is fastest way to double crypto. You can doubling your tokens to 2x,3x,5x and more than 10x.
But to play Gambling is difficult if you play without knowledge.

Why i say Gambling is way to loss ?

In Gambling website, you can see review of users how much tokens they won in gambling. But, you don't know how much they deposit to play gambling.

147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto banned? on: June 09, 2019, 05:07:49 PM
For eastern countries, who don’t have things like democracy to worry about, it was easy. They banned it.

The West took a more subtle approach using the jab-cross-left-hook of fear, dis-accreditation, and tax. Fear of capital loss and distrust. Stories of stolen coins, bankrupt and corrupt exchanges. Linking cryptocurrency to crime, and what the government will do to anyone who actually makes a profit.

It worked.

Globally the response to the rise in the market capitalisation of cryptocurrencies was not homeopathic.

Governments didn’t bring out the heat lamp and cream to soothe the problem.

They brought the sword and started swinging.

On the demand side…

China outright banned ICO offerings and cryptocurrency trading, but India was slightly more subtle. The Indian government made an offer the banks couldn’t refuse — sure, you (banks) are free to do what you want. But if you let your customers swap between rupees and cryptocurrency the Indian Central Bank will cut you off. Not quite waking up with a prize stallion head in the bed, but Johnny Fontaine got his movie.

South Korea, a country whose citizens are understandably Bitcoin crazy, initially banned ICO’s but allowed the restricted buying and selling of cryptocurrency. The restrictions include prohibiting anonymous deposits and reporting anyone who moved more than 10 million won ($9,300) a day into the cryptocurrency market.

In the West, while not outright banning cryptocurrency trading, the campaign to stop cryptocurrency demand moved into full swing and included…

Full KYC (know your customer) requirements to open a cryptocurrency account.

Restrictions on how much fiat currency can be moved in and out of exchanges.

Huge increases in fees from credit and debit cards to fund cryptocurrency accounts.

New tax laws. The IRS now treats cryptocurrency as property. Any profit must be disclosed. Not just from moving fiat currency into cryptocurrency and then back again, but on every individual transaction.

Strong-arming cryptocurrency exchanges with new regulation caused massive delays in account opening, and all this combined with a negative media frenzy successfully killed the demand.

Big companies too joined the anti-cryptocurrency stance.

Facebook and Google outlawed cryptocurrency advertising. Perhaps they have been persuaded by the wisdom of the establishment, considering the lightness of touch over regulation and taxation. Why bite the hand?

The speed and aggressiveness in response to the rising value of cryptocurrencies is a significant tell on the future of this technology.

The establishment wants your seat at the table.

they banned it but they are having a hard time regulating it, its easy for them to say that something is banned but to realy stop it is a whole other ball game.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Accepting Churches on: June 09, 2019, 04:34:32 PM

While I am searching for churches that readily accept bitcoin for donations, I realized that there are now some who seem to see the potential use of cryptocurrency in their financial operation (religious groups do need money as just like any other organizations).

"Father Rosado believes that St. John’s the Evangelist is the first Catholic Church to accept bitcoins and he thinks virtual currency donations can be much more useful than those in fiat currencies. 'In theory, in the future, you could exchange bitcoins for any currency. It would be faster to move money around,' said Father Rosado."

"An evangelical church in Zurich will begin accepting offerings in the cryptocurrency bitcoin. “Digital currencies and the blockchain technology will change our daily lives more and more in the next years,” Nicolas Legler, spokesperson for Zurich's ICF Church, told Swiss media."

Have you encountered a denomination near your area accepting bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Would you share the same idea to the denomination or faith you are a part of?

first time i hear about this , find it abit wierd that a church accepts donations i bitcoins when most stores and what have you dont do.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: June 09, 2019, 04:27:15 PM
Well, I don't think Bitcoin has no value . Why? Because if there is none why many people still into it. Many still gaining income from it. So meaning they valued Bitcoin.
They value bitcoin but bitcoin does not have any intrinsic value. This is a correct statement.

Just like the fiat money is just a piece of paper with some writing on it, it also has no value in it if you consider it as a piece of paper. Now people take it for granted that they have a certain denomination and thus a consensus of a value. Bitcoin is valuable because people support it and they have been buying it gradually leading to a price which is considerable against fiat money.

its the same with art its just some paint on a canvas and it can be worth alot of money, or it can be worthless, same with everything realy things are worth what people are willing to pay for them.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: June 09, 2019, 04:25:43 PM

Considering that Durant would be back in game 5, can he save Warriors from falling?
There's still less chance as they have to win the next 3 games to win in the NBA finals, and two of those are in the home court of the Raptors starting game 5.
The homecourt advantage will make the Raptors very motivated to win the series in front of their home crowd, making it more challenging for Durant to prove its worth, if he can comes up with some spice that will turned things into their favor and extend the series to deciding game 7 😉.

Waiting for game 5 still hoping that series will be extended after KD's return and help the team to win back.

Does Durant really 100% to play on game 5? I don't think so. Maybe he can shot a couple of baskets but he will be a liable in the end game like Thompson. Anyways, I lost to a bet that the warriors will win the series in game 5 though.

there are some news saying KD is impossible to play for the whole series of this finals so if KD wont play this game 5 Toronto has a huge chance to take the championship but I saw KD on game 2 having a good physical condition but I dont know if he can afford to play inspite of his good condition.

who would have tought that the raptors would beat gsw , this is insane what a performance so far. realy hope they go all the way! Cheesy
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: noteworthy altcoins for investment? on: June 09, 2019, 01:05:56 PM
After overtaking Ethereum on CMC, XRP seems to be one of the most promising cryptocurrencies of 2019. This cryptocurrency has seen unprecedented growth in last year along with a whopping price rise.

Now, due to its consensus mechanism, more and more payment providers are getting onboard. Moreover, there are some released products like xRapid, xCurrent, and xVia, which are improving its overall position in the blockchain network.

When it comes to its market prediction for 2019, as published on coinswitch, there will be an addition to its partnerships and technologies that might surge its price to 8 to 10 dollars.

There is a chance that might reach $1.20 by the end of 2019, do u think?

The first thing that comes to mind when I read your writings is that you are not following the market. It's been a long time since I passed Ethereum Ripple again.

I also understand that you know Ripple through some information. This is just part of the real thing. What makes Ripple important is that, like other coins on the market, there is no effort to be decentralized. Therefore, they are different from many other projects. But for most of us, the biggest problem arises here. I have been following XRP since the first step in the market. And I have never recommended anyone near me to buy it. This is the most suitable coin for manipulation!

yeah eth overtook that second place months ago and xrps volume is very low compare to eth and btc, even in the bullrun the last months xrps price is still very low compare to the 3 dollar it was last bullrun,
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In Your Country on: June 09, 2019, 10:59:42 AM

This is for members outside of the United States of America since things going in that country are all on the news but for those countries who are usually outside the radar of the mainstream media, I would like to get updates which can be good and bad, favorable and unfavorable with bitcoin. Here in my country, we have no problem with the government as regulatory bodies are not hindering the growth of cryptocurrency and in fact we have many more exchanges already approved and they can start doing business in 2020. Reading the news in other countries, I am feeling lucky to be a resident here.

What about in your own native land...how's bitcoin adoption been going on? Is there a bright future in there or maybe is it facing a gloomy and cloudy prospect? Let's talk...

i live in sweden and i have to say so far its pretty much none existant as a currency or to buy things in stores, as a investment its a bit more , but feels like btc is something people talk about but no one owns any or have used any.

154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking News! Third world nation bans BTC. 10 years in jail for holding crypto on: June 07, 2019, 03:27:44 PM
The Title is misleading. Just state India Lawmakers Proposes 10 year.....

It is likely that the government will support this proposal and is likely to be approved by the lawmakers. I do hope their local court invalidates this if it ever becomes a law.

its very likley it will get passed, but agree the title is a bit missleading its like its already in effect and that people got jailed for holding btc lol

156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate Banks and love Bitcoin :-> on: June 07, 2019, 11:01:07 AM
I pay for my monthly satellite TV subscription with a bank transfer and for some obscure reason I forgot to pay it this month. I was still watching the World cup Cricket tournament, when a message popped up, saying that my account was in the arrears and they blocked my viewing.

I immediately logged into my internet Banking and checked my payment history and realized that I skipped that payment for some reason, so I made the payment and thought I would wait for a hour or two and then resume viewing. Noooot!

8 HOURS passed, I phoned the company and they informed me that the payment is not reflected on their system yet, so I waited another 4 hours and phoned them again. <still Nothing>

A whole 21 hours later the payment went through and I could continue viewing, but the match I wanted to see was finished.  Angry

If I paid with Bitcoin, this same payment would have taken less than 20 minutes at most, but unfortunately this Satelite provider does not accept Bitcoin payment for this service.  Angry

stories like this is why we need btc and crypto, and i cant even remember all the times i have been waiting for money just to realise its a red day so the banks are closed so no money is sent then, its absurd.
157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has the dip passed? on: June 07, 2019, 10:59:40 AM
I have been in here from December of 2017. This means I had never experienced a complete bear market before. So I want to ask the veterans: Has the dip passed? What is your opinion of it?

i think we are due for a big correction before we start the real climb it would not suprise me if we see levels of 6k again before going over 10k.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is all this "Satoshi" drama? on: June 07, 2019, 10:58:53 AM

159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: thinking quiting after lose on gambling. on: June 02, 2019, 09:13:03 PM
it was happened to me several times that after lost gamble i was promise to myself that i will quit gambling because i'm tired always lost during gambling but the next day when i wake up in the morning it was crossed into my mind that i will back to gambling to recover my previous lost but fortunate currently i have already realize that habit does not good for me and can lead me to being an addicted gambling

yes that sounds like a addictive personality , good that u could see your wrongs and choosing the correct way instead of chasing losses.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 02, 2019, 09:07:58 PM
No way I'm gonna spend any money in crypto.
It is free btw if you're buying it then you're doing it all wrong.
If you think joining airdrops or bounties are "free", they're not. You pay the former with your personal information, and you pay the latter with your time.

only the people who don't know what's going on ended up buying a full bag of them.
Tell that to the people who bought in on the earlier years of bitcoin; or anyone who bought a lot lower than the current price.

amen brother , dont know how much time i wasted on bountys doing their tasks and getting coins worth some cents and becoming useless in a month or 2, its not worth it easier to just get a job and use 1 hour of wage to buy the damn coin instead Cheesy
