141  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How Coinbase stole my life savings. on: June 10, 2017, 12:51:26 AM

Oh noes! I'm not saying that you nor the blockchain are lying, excuse me. But that's what it happened, that's the wallet they gave me.
And I'm willing to show any pic you guys like, of course. By Wallet QR code and key you mean my current Coinbase Wallet QR code and key?

I get it, and I know it is a suck place to be... but yes if you post a pic of what you get from Coinbase... maybe it will reveal what really happened.

Also, I can't help but wonder if you maybe hit a fake site instead of the real Coinbase. There is an awful lot of BTC going to that address the last few days.
142  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How Coinbase stole my life savings. on: June 10, 2017, 12:46:56 AM
OK you and others did something wrong...

Look here this is the address you said you sent BTC to Coinbase... this address has over 10 BTc in it... it is not yours lol... you made a mistake somewhere.

https://blockchain.info/address/13AqmiwoRwR6grdFZSWQ1tDxDN9qkhwaPd

Impossible, I did everything normally.  Went to my coinbase account, then to my wallets, BTC wallet and I copied the exact same Wallet ID they gave me and pasted it.

Hey check the link i posted... blockchain does not lie.

Care to link a pic of the wallet QR code and key for comparison?

Also, just to check did you click My Wallet or BTC Vault?

Check for some PSU Testers... they are little plastic rectangles that clip onto your 24 pin connector. When you add this and flip on the switch on any PSU, it will turn on and spins fans etc.

You can use this, the risers and w/e connectors and adapters needed to power cards from other PSUs outside the one for the mobo.

PRO TIP: DO NOT PLUG MORE THAN ONE PSU INTO A SINGLE GPU!!!! This includes NOT PLUGGING IN PCI 6 or 8 PIN CABLES TO A CARD SLOTTED IN THE MOBO X16 SLOT FROM A SECOND PSU!!!

146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the safest wallet to use for long term offline storage? on: June 09, 2017, 09:34:22 PM

In my personal opinion make a paper wallet and back those paper wallets up with copies. Laminate all of these paper wallets and store the second and maybe third copies at separate locations.

OP, screw what anyone else told you... ^^^^^ THIS is all you need!

Go use Vanitygen, get yourself some addresses and pub/priv keys, print it in triplicate, laminate and store in locked, secured places.

By using Vanitygen, you get addresses and keys without ever having to use a third party or sync a Bitcoin client, and you can even attempt to get an address with a custom starting word or name!

What´s going on with the pools?

Suprnova is off and zenminepro is not finding any blocks, or just unlucky???

Headscratching...

?

Suprnova is fine.. https://zen.suprnova.cc

This is true... had 1 GTX 1070 on ZEN this whole time... it hasn't hiccuped much at all.

NOW... I will say when I pointed my big 1080 TI rig at it... EWBF zec-miner would eventually throw a fit and reset GPUs... doesn't do this on ZEC.

I think you need to add another port for higher diff please... my 1080 TI rig just eats ZEN shares right now and I think the miner is overloading.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Operating system to mine with 1070 gtx ? on: June 08, 2017, 04:16:20 PM
EthOS - Decent, well built, once you learn its config, it is simple and convenient. Worth the $39 and comes on SSD, USB or download with them hosting a remote connect link for you to allows access your rig when it is online anywhere.

Win 10 - Pro obviously gives you more things in Windows... but for mining... Home works JUST FINE and I have yet to see a hash difference between Pro and Home and I run both.

Linux Distos - All the same except if you pull a prebuilt image with preloaded tools and drivers etc. That is what EthOS is. Any linux disto works but you will have to go through a lot of setup compared to the two above. If you know Linux, no issue, if not then you are in for a decent learning experience.

Win 7/8/8.1 - All fine, but i have MUCH BETTER stability on Win 10 then I ever had on 7/8. I no longer have any of these in my house, so I can no longer speak to present day hashrates on them.

Bottom line, you will definitely do better starting with an OS you know... do not dive into Linux, spend money on hardware and think you will have a miner up in a day, it won;t happen if you aren't already fluent. If that is the case, Win 10 is simple enough... install Win, update, install GPU driver, DL miner config and start... done. Tweak and set up remote control etc.

100% HONESTY - I like EthOS... but despite all my attempts to tune it, I get more hash from Windows every time. Not all AMD and Nvidia drivers are created equal and while EthOS is trying to use the best known version, I get better results using the Windows drivers.

Tips: I LOVE using Google's Chrome Remote Desktop to maintain my remote miners... easy simple and FREE! Email monitoring is a must so use it!

All good info - i was wondering if you could explain what you do with email monitoring? thanks!

Depending on pool... its either an additional flag you set on your worker at the pool and it will send email if the workers DCs, or pools that mine straight to an address usually have the pass used as your email address, or an extension of the workername where your address goes. Look at Dwarfpool they use this method.

It is for your own piece of mind because you cant be at your miner 24/7.

Looks like mining will be getting Alot more difficult in the near future... Sad

It will give us more solidarity, but I get the feeling this is gonna turn into another bitcoin hardware craze where evrything is overprice by 1000%.  This might suck alot.

150  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2FA and what if i lose my phone...? (at the least suitable time) on: June 08, 2017, 03:41:20 PM
Guys... im new to 2FA... i didnt understand half the things you said :-/ :-).

1) So when registering on an BTC exchange for 2FA (im not planning to use 2FA anywhere else, just the exchanges, at least for now). It gives me some secret backup code (or QR code). If i ever lose my phone, and need to login quick, i can use the secret code- scan it with another phone and i have instant acces to that exchanges once again. Correct?

2) But what if i need to login instantly and dont have an acces to another smartphone, only 2 computers. How can i use the "secret back up" code the exchange gave me when enabling 2FA without a second (not lost) smartphone? I need a smartphone to scan this secret/back QR code? Or can i scan it somehow only using a pc

Also im not planning to use sms codes, all my questions are aimed on the codes you can generate on your phone completelly offline, no internet incomming messages, no sms, just generate the code on your phone.

GAuth only requires you to have an Android device with your Google account signed in. That can be virtualized in a number of ways if push came to shove.

The best answer, is YES as long as you have that QR code and the accompanying key saved somewhere, you can use ANY Android device to scan or type it into GAuth and be able to use it again.

If I wanted to do this on an existing Win server, can the wallet GUI binary do any of this?
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 6X RX 470 win 7 rig on: June 08, 2017, 02:18:56 PM
Hi guys in the end I ended up setting up my rig in Ubuntu, Windows just got too hard........

WOW! Did you try Win 10? You can still get it free since you own Win 7 and 8. They still give it away for free if you do it right.

http://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/

I run Win 10 Home on a 6 R9 390 OC Nitro+ rig with ZERO ISSUES and MAX HASH.

154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1080ti's: Better Options? on: June 08, 2017, 01:57:09 PM
Just for reference, I have a 4U 3X EVGA 1080 TI FE rig, OCd and tuned, pumping over 2200 sols @ 885 watts on the kill a watt meter.

Stable and hashing away for a week now. Evan dumped it on ZEN for a few days and snagged some coin.

My temps arent ideal... my garage is NOT a decent place to host in the summer... but I have a COLO rack opening in a few days and that will stabilize my temps.

885 with overhead isn't too bad IMO... its on an i7 6700K with a water cooler and extra drive space so it will also be acting as a node... so there are a few extra watts being pulled that could be trimmed by low end CPU, cooler and an SSD.

Otherwise, the above rig pulls in at least $25 a day at current rates and I never cash out at calced rates. On ZEN it made $60 a day easy till yesterday.
155  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2FA and what if i lose my phone...? (at the least suitable time) on: June 07, 2017, 11:06:15 PM

If you backed up the secret key you can re-scan the QR code again. If you didn't back it up you will have to email the support team.

EVERY 2FA enabled service TELLS YOU TO DO THIS!!!! ALWAYS keep a hard copy somewhere of EVERY QR and key you add 2FA with... or else you WILL one day have the OPs problem.

Best way? Maybe 2FA your Google account, then keep copies of the services QRs/codes you add in a doc in Drive and keep a hard copy of the Google Authenticator's restore QR/Code in a VERY safe place, with other paperwork, lockbox, safe, deposit box etc. Then you will always have access to your drive if all else fails, and that gives you restores to your other services.

EDIT: My bad Scorpion, that's aimed at OP, just quoting your good info. Cheesy

Actually one of my nodes rebooted 2h ago, so that was inaccurate. All other nodes lost connection with the server around 11:46am and resumed at 12:23pm ... 37 mins of downtime. That's substantial. Could you check?

It's - still - all good here, I see multiple peaks of malicious traffic in my graphs.. all last about 10-15 mins while the attacker tries to get around the mitigation but nothing heavy which really hit the server hard... The attacker is using wordpress pingback attacks and udp floods etc.. Looks like someone is hiring a Stresser/Booter as the times those floods are going are pretty much exactly 60 minutes.. or 120 minutes.. or 180 minutes..

If you're still having trouble connecting, let me know where you're connecting from and I'll open a ticket with my provider otherwise I'd just recommend to spread hash around as a failover/failsafe method.

I cant load zen, zcl and hush pools for at least last 2 hours.
Zec is working normal.
I'm in europe

My shares at suprnova held through the attack... just front end was unavailable until an hour ago and now seems fine... got expected coins on hand.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZENCASH: Permanent, Distributed, and Fully Anonymous cryptocurrency on: June 07, 2017, 04:01:11 PM

Are full nodes going to be incentivized with block rewards?

Yes. Anyone that runs a full node with additional requirements will qualify for the Secure Node reward and participates in the network node funds allocation program will receive their share of 3.5% of the coinbase rewards. Additionally one of the functions of the DAO will be to maintain network node size and may allocate additional funds to node operators.

The ZenCash network target size is to be at least 1,000 fully operational nodes. At this size at least 7.40 zen will be rewarded to each node operator. In the event the ZenCash network size has not been reached the DAO may allocate some of its discretionary funds to encourage node deployment.

Where is clarification on this posted? What additional requirements? I am putting a node online now on servers I am moving into hosting this week, and want to be sure I have all the prerequisites in line before deploying to COLO.

Gimme some parameters and I will have a lifetime FULL ZEN node online ASAP.

It's not every day your hacked account gets returned. PM'd both of you right now, maybe today is the day a hacker actually returns an account untouched.

Sorry again....

Edit: P.S. don't be so dumb, I could have seen this thread and deleted your post with the address in it  Lips sealed
Someone actually quoted OP's post so you could try to delete the post but it would not make too much difference.

Maybe if you own this account aswell.  Wink

LOL exactly, and I do not believe that is the only post I put addresses in, and I own all my privkeys so not like I couldn't sign a dozen different messages.

But at least all is back to normal.

EDIT: Also lbminer please, I thank you for your help and flagging my account... please fix the trust haha?!?

Just to confirm, can you sign a new message from the same address under this account?  Smiley
