They are admittedly quite silly but I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I'm excited to see how our players react to them Smiley

Are the hearts coming from the players because they are in love? Is it like a magic spell in the game that works like ghb?
 Grin
Why hearts is the core question.

The effect is attached to the specific garment.

Each garment has a different style and theme. This one is a cute cat garment with hearts and pink streamers that float around it. It's a silly garment but quite popular with players.

If you guys ever need someone to test just throw me a pm. Either myself or wife would be glad to help. Wife is a mega gamer . So if you need testing on various things just throw me a pm and we'll be on asap Smiley

Thanks again on the continuous updates. Keep em coming Smiley

The heroes server is online for testing at www.ConquerHeroes.com

It will sometimes be down as we use it as a live test server (paused for debugging, crashed, etc). We aim to move it to a full beta server for the 1st (players then must work for their items and offer feedback on rates and features. Right now we're just roughing things in making sure all the features work as they should and that we can track down as many bugs as possible before that beta starts.

i second that and would be glad to help this project anyway i can.
my funds will soon be ready and will be investing in this project.
it is by far the best ico of 2016 it already has a working game and another being created.
to add to that you have both things i love most online, gambling and gaming.

Appreciate the high praise and support!

Do you need german translation?

We should be launching the full bounty list on the 1st. I believe most of the primary translations are done, not sure if German was included though.

Right now my main priority with the Heroes project is fleshing out the actual content for the new server. Virtually all of the game systems are already in place and being tested but we need to make sure there's enough for players to do when it comes time for them to actually level and hunt and quest. In addition to writing these quests and events and side systems they also need to be documented so players actually know about them and wont get confused as easily.

If another player searches a treasure box before you, they will get the treasure and the box will respawn elsewhere on the map. Due to the time limit in this quest you're encouraged to try to find times when other players may not already be inside the map to do it quicker. The time allotted is quite generous though and it's mostly a matter of making sure players log in daily and do more than PVP. We'll be expanding the system to include some more 'creative' quests as well in the coming weeks.

So far I have 3 daily quests completed for various city maps (to add variety in where people are playing). We've also finished the mentor system which allows you to gain a portion of the experience and items your students gain. Your students also gain a percentage of your battle power making them stronger as well. To avoid abuse we've disabled the ability to share exp from powerleveling (the apprentices must actually level themselves rather than team exp) and the rates are currently being verified and tested.

PS: Study points are included in the first screenshot. Study points are earned through daily quests, world boss fights and other larger activities and can be used to boost specific attributes of your character. I'll be doing a full video on the subclass system in the near future.

it says there are 122 players online now. If I download the game does that mean all the people will be playing or does it also include people who are logged in and not playing?

That number only includes the amount currently in game on that particular server. The online count keeps the servers separate and does not include website or other logins.

If c2 is partner with jewels I think c2 should take the back seat and let jewels lead because they are very far ahead and I don't want them being held back at all.

I'm not sure it is a set in stone partnership or am I wrong?

I mean I've not seen any of the c2 community in here, well at least not introducing themselves.

Is it more of a coin based partnership being able to exchange for c2 and not in game partnership?

The partnership is that users will be able to convert between jewels<>c2 yes. That will primarily be useful once our gambling games are completed and can then be integrated in other games as well as being released as their own dedicated gambling site and mobile apps.

I did not see any exchange plans in roadmap. Any such introduction planned ?

Sorry for the confusion. The roadmap is in regards to programming milestones and is not related to the other work we will be doing in regard to partnerships and other integrations. Exchanges are very important to us and we will be pushing as hard as we can to be listed on as many as possible. Obviously that will start with exchanges that are easier to be listed on. Here's the post discussing it earlier in the thread.

The road map was intended to mainly highlight benchmarks in terms of (programming based) development. I'll look to have the road map broadened with other intentions other than those just specifically related to programming. Thanks Smiley.

As for which exchanges we'll be listed on, we will probably get a listing on Yobit due to its ease however it is also in our intentions to get a listing on Bittrex as from our research they are a more trusted and well established exchange. We intend to be entirely transparent with them and don't mind the 3 BTC fee. We see no problem with their CFC compliance standards which requests having a proof of developer done and disclosing the full name and location of a member of the coin development team. After a listing on Bittrex, we will eventually seek a listing on Poloniex as we become more established. As Jewels is an integral aspect of our project we want people to have accessibility to Jewels in as many places and ways as possible.

The gambling will be a mega success as well IMHO, @dev is there any plans of partnering with an already proven casino to implement your provably fair dev?

We are interested in doing so yes. Creating a provably fair gambling API is not exactly 'difficult' but rather time consuming. Going with something that has a proven track record of security and has a strong name in the community would be very important to the project. I can't really say anything definitive until such a partnership can be worked out but yes, it's something we are looking into.

-Rebirth would be about 3 months of pre-development with a further 6-9 months of full scale development to get it to an alpha playable state and would require a team more in the range of 5-10 people. Obviously that costs a lot more to fund than developing a few mini games and integrating them with a properly secured backend.

Hopefully that (rough) breakdown helps put things in context some. Ideally many of these will be done concurrently rather than in sequence by bringing in other developers.

Again lots of info. Thank you. Think this is the first project that info is given at a pretty regular interval. Keep up the awesome work man. I see this project going a LONG way.

I'll be doing my best to provide bits of content update every few days. Right now working on re-writing all of the quest managements systems so we can start developing a few new quests and events.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JEWELS- Currency backed by an existent MMORPG. ICO underway. PLAY NOW on: July 24, 2016, 09:56:48 PM
OP is there an amount you need to make to class this ICO as a success?

The amount raised will determine what milestones we will be able to complete. The more we raise, the more complex and varied custom gambling apps can be made and the more work can be done on project Rebirth. If less is raised we will still be able to implement the jewels currency into the existing servers but will make it harder to develop fully fleshed out gambling apps. Our goals are designed that way because it allows us to scale based on investment without having to put a hard limit on how much is needed.

Timelines change based on the amount of work we can afford to hire staff to handle and it also alters the complexity of the projects being worked on.

-Coin integration and management is around 1 month of development for 2 developers and can be done with very little backing. It would be something that if worst came to worst I could bankroll myself.
-Gambling app development and integration would be 2-3 months of work for 2 developers and 1 artist minimum but bringing in more staff would allow for expanding the scope to include more games of various styles with much higher level of finish on them (better sounds, art, interfaces, etc)
-Further gambling development including mobile apps, standalone website not related to our servers, more variety in games available, integration in other websites and in other games again scale in time but would easily be 3-6 months work of worth with # of staff scaling based on the scope of the project.

Great answer looking forward to that will also invest since this project seems interesting. Good luck!

As mentioned by JewelsProject, the new rebirth project is in planning and development stages right now. We have a lot written on what we want to preserve in regards to core gameplay mechanics as well as what we want to be unique and new about our game. Here's a (very) brief list of some of the surface details we are focused on keeping and what we are aiming to re-design. Obviously this is just a surface list but can give some insight for those who are curious.

Keep

-Rapid movement skills similar to jumping in conquer
-Fast, skill based combat (plays more like a 3rd person shooter than an MMO)
-2.5D isometric art style

Change

-Modern network re-design. Conquer uses TCP with horribly outdated management. We would be creating proper networking layer ontop of UDP to ensure proper data management (relying on interpolation of server snapshots)
-Modern client re-design. Conquer wastes insane amounts of resources in how it handles and draws graphics data and relies almost entirely on CPU rendering rather than using GPU. Our new client will be designed in Unity3d with a heavy focus on proper implementation to reduce drawcalls and to leverage new graphics technologies to create a stunning looking product.
-More cohesive class design. Each class should look, feel and play differently from eachother. The jumping system in conquer is our main focus. Introducing a resource system for this and giving each class their own type of movement (dash, jumps, teleports for example) it makes the game feel better and be easier to balance in the long term.

So obviously this is just the smallest and most basic list of what we're concerned with but it boils down to re-tooling all of the backend systems so that they are modern and scale well as the game grows and ages as well as pushing the game into a more cohesive design (both in terms of graphics and gameplay). We want to keep what makes conquer special in regards to its fast paced movements and combat relying heavily on player skills. This doesn't touch on many of the design documents we have in place simply for the reason that they are always subject to change. The timeline for that project involves creating a network and graphics test client/server Q4 2016 at which point we will also be bringing artists in to start designing some of the first drafts of environment and character art. We can then look to start developing the full playable game Q1 2017 with that foundation in place.

To clarify some on this partnership, we'll also be adding C2 deposit option to our jewel wallet which will allow users to automate the process of exchanging C2>BTC>Jewels

Have you thought about making the items in the game blockchain-based? This can be very powerful and would give more decentralization to the game by granting the players the benefit of real ownership above their gear.

You can easily create a Counterparty asset for each item to do this (at a 0.5XCP cost per asset class). The digital card game Spells of Genesis (www.spellsofgenesis.com) uses this way to make their trading cards blockchain-based.

Our primary interest is creating provably fair gambling games. The Jewels currency will also be used for the cash shop but that is not what our project is focused on, just a nice way to create consistent demand for the coin while the gambling games are developed. Those gambling games will then be available inside our game, on their own website, as their own dedicated app and we will be looking to find other games/servers to embed them in their projects as well. As far as players are concerned, they do not need to even realize it's a cryptocurrency as that would confuse them greatly.

This is a question to the owner JewelsProject (Pro4Never?) but I checked out the game and since I played it myself (the original) but why should I invest in this when you can be taken offline any moment by the company of the real game? Isn't there copyright and trademark to this real game?

I'm happy to answer that for you. I've been involved in the conquer community for 10 years now and have never received any C&D letter nor has any other project I've worked with. The original game was developed by a Chinese company that does not defend the trademark. We are also not running a current version of the game and therefor they don't view us as competition, even though we have proven to be very popular.

The funds being raised here are NOT to be used on our private server projects. Those are already self sufficient and profitable. The funds we are raising are to create a secure crypto backend to use for sales and gambling as well as to develop a series of provably fair gambling games. These games will be 100% developed by us and will have no copyright issues. We will embed them into our servers using a web view, they will be available on their own dedicated gambling site (people who dont even know of our game can still gamble using jewels) and as their own mobile app. We will also be allowing other games/servers to embed our games into them to grow the jewels network. If by some strange twist of fate TQ shut down our server projects it would have no real effect on the jewels project besides a reduction in demand for the coin. It would be unfortunate but would not stop the jewels project.

The funds being raised are also intended to start development of our own completely custom game (no longer relying on the conquer online client and not using any of their materials) which we will be starting work on late this year or Q1 2017. I've done significant prototyping already towards it but  we do need to bring in at least one or two more developers for that project to move along at significant speed.

This goes without saying as looking back on history, ND did not make any legal attempts to shut down crippling services to their game such as CoAI and CoG in their prime.

To clarify for those not familiar with the game. CoAI and COG were subscription based cheats/bots for the game which were so popular that they actually crippled the game server making it impossible to play for non botters. Even in those circumstances no legal actions were taken to shut down the creators of the bots. We have no risk really of our server being shut down and in fact the official conquer facebook page recently liked out game's page. It could have been a language barrier but still, we are not a negative target on their radar.

That chick is fucking hot! How long does it take you or your employees to make that design and implement it to the game. Just wondering.

These are based on existing designs which I've tweaked by mixing and matching existing effects and re-coloring/editing as needed.

I'm pretty useless when it comes to art but I've been doing this long enough that I can slap together something from existing parts pretty well. Sadly right now we have no artists doing work for us. The one we had missed every deadline he promised so we had to let him go. These weapons/garments took me around 5 hours today which is pretty low considering that's less than a hour per item.

Thank you for the information. Once I'm done work, I'll be downloading the game....its been far too long since I've played conquer. Miss hopping around like a lunatic Tongue

One last question - what's the ratio of English language : other? Last time I played, everyone was Filipino or Brazilian....which made it hard to form parties.

Thanks again!

On the apex server we have a rule of English only when sending server-wide messages (broadcast/service chat). There are a significant group of Filipino players playing on Apex but due to those rules they tend to use guild chat or friend channels to communicate. The reason for that rule is that we have rules regarding service chat and we cant enforce them if we cant read what's being said (no real life sales, no real world threads and verbal abuse, etc)

The majority of players on Apex are English speaking players.

Triumph is more heavily skewed towards Egyptian players as it is hosted in Europe. It's definitely our smaller market but the cross-server wars every Saturday make for a very entertaining fight. In that war, all players have equal gears and stats to make a level playing field.

Do you plan to start sig campaign with JEWELS?

Yes, we will be doing one in the coming weeks.

And what about issuing stocks of your company?

That's not something we plan to do. Obviously there are ways to do something like that which is fair to investors and to our players but I would be concerned it would put unnecessary pressure on the project to force very quick temporary returns. We have a really solid understanding of what our players expect and are willing to put up with in terms of monitization and we'd much rather be profitable for years to come rather than getting an initial spike of earnings and dying off within 6 months.

I personally invested a small bits and quite happy with my results.

Thank you so much for your support. We really do appreciate it!

Im not here to start an argument but the dev from game credits claims to be way more advanced then Jewels and from what I've read I dont understand why he's saying that. Does anyone here know why the dev is making these claims?

Here is the posts if you want to read them.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1266597.msg15653461#msg15653461

Looking at their thread it appears as though they have a lot of infrastructure already in place as they've been around for a couple of years. The main difference is that they are aiming to be a 'universal gaming cryptocurrency' where we are keeping our scope more narrowed on the following main uses.

-Built in demand from apex, triumph and heroes servers
-Expanded demand from standalone provably fair gambling apps (available in heroes AND as their own separate website+mobile apps)
-Expanded reach by implementing our gambling games into other games and projects
-Development of our own fully custom MMO (client and server full re-design and development with crypto as a foundation for the economy)

Their focus seems to be on being a one stop payment and integration solution for cryptocurrency which is quite different. We are instead focusing on the actual gaming products we have experience in developing relying on cryptocurrency technology to act as a solid foundation for future growth.

Short version we are aiming to be different things.

A crypto-backed Conquer Online server?

Is this real life?  Christmas in July?!

Please tell me its true - I can also help out in any way I can with this project - do you guys have a slack channel that I could join?

Good luck!

Yes but it's much more than simply integrating a coin into conquer.

The jewels will be integrated fully into our conquer servers, we will be developing a series of provably fair gambling games (available inside our servers and out) as well as working on developing a fully custom game inspired by conquer.

Sorry but our development is kept private currently and we do not have a public slack channel. We do have a public teamspeak which players often use for group PVP events but it's not really a dev chat environment.

Firstly,

I would ask that the community thanks KingArbin for bringing to my attention such a great looking project.

For sure, we definitely appreciate the advertisement he's been doing. We're in talks with him right now to try to work something out that's favorable to both sides. Also welcome to the thread, if you have questions just let us know. I try to check the thread at least a few times per day.

Great concept - the only thing I'm not sure is about that PayPal integration; it's a great feature, but since your coin will probably get listed on exchanges changing your fixed rate on PayPal jewels everyday or week won't appeal to much to players who won't be into speculation (eg. one day they will see they get 100 jewels for 1$ and the next week maybe only 30 jewels for $1 due to markets - that might put them off to buy anything in the future).

Agreed. The paypal prices will be (significantly) higher than what you would pay on an exchange so that we do not need to keep adjusting the price. The vast majority of average players are not willing to go to an exchange and deal with crypto. That's what the paypal option exists for. If they are paying twice as much as they would on an exchange, that wont actually effect them and it still leaves us needing to go to an exchange to re-buy coins. Those who want to and are willing to deal with crypto are welcome to go direct to exchanges to purchase their coins and easily deposit them to their wallets. We will of course have tutorials available to players on how to do that but we strongly suspect that will mostly be people playing the jewels gambling games and not those simply buying coins to purchase in-game items.

Interesting turn of events with the blockchain dynamics. Im sure the upcoming show will be a great one to tune in to. I also like the idea of partnering with c2 and more importantly hypercoin.
Can you tell us if this is in the works yet?

We've discussed the logistics with our team and we've reached out to KingArbin. At this point it boils down to hammering out details and making an agreement. Can't really say much past that though until everything's set in stone. We're definitely interested our only caveat is we don't want it integrated as a alternate in-game currency as it would be confusing to our players. Having the ability to deposit c2/hypercoin into your jewels wallet (automating the exchange process) is more the route we're thinking.

Slightly off topic but here's a very brief video covering the horse racing system that will be available in the Heroes server.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E42aGK5xeIs

I'm posting this here because it's showing not only existing content the game will have for players but also is a significant use case for jewels. We've done similar cosmetic systems in the past for weapons and armor and they have proven very popular (selling for between 5-25 USD/each on average).

We already have dozens of usable mount skins and we have approximately 50 more waiting to be added over time. We'll be doing bi-weekly content releases after the launch of the new server so that the game remains fresh and enjoyable for the players and also to ensure that the jewels shop remains active and useful. Our jewels shop will allow for one click USD>Jewels purchases as well as allowing you to load in jewels from any exchange you wish. This constant demand for jewels from players will help to maintain healthy value for the currency through the exchanges directly and through re-purchasing we will need to do to restore the paypal fund.

Hopefully people here enjoy the quick overview. I'm super excited to start doing some of these horse races. They provide a nice break from the PVP action and yet are still competitive and rewarding. Because the mounts you buy with the horse racing points are temporary (expire after 7 days) it nicely encourages people to spend the money to get the permanent version Smiley

So do you have any desires to include other coins in your MMORPG to grow your community quicker? Coin2 has a 2 year old community that has been looking for a game to use the coin with for awhile. I myself have been working on a first person shooter called Chain of Conflict for almost the same amount of time. If interested check out the links below for the github and thread link.

https://github.com/UdjinM6/Coin2.1

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824499.msg9210669#msg9210669

I can also get HYPER in on this, we are partners with them as well.

Introducing more coins into our game itself would be very confusing to players. In regards to the provably fair gambling apps, that's something that could be done (extend our app to include other coins) although I'm of the opinion that it would be unwise of us to do right from the start. If the gambling apps/site gain in popularity and there is demand for other coins it would be something to re-consider at that time.

I'll bring it up to other members of the team and see what they think. Thanks for your interest either way.

Hi!

I wanted to say thanks for posting in the Blockchain Dynamics thread.  I sent a PM to the primary Jewels account and am looking forward to the prospect of learning more about Jewels, and sharing that information with our listeners, from people that really know about it.  We do not claim to always get it right from our look at a bitcointalk post and so we really appreciate it when a project is organized enough to consider having a discussion with us.  Hope to hear more soon Smiley

-Jookly
Blockchain Dynamics Co-Host

Thanks so much for your interest in our project. I'll be talking it over with the other members of the project tonight to hash out the fine details but it's safe to say we'll be happy to do some form of interview with Blockchain Dynamics.

After reading into this, I'm not interested so much in the coin as I am the project. Would you be willing to take on an equity-based investment for the business (and therefore the games)?

I can't really comment on that at the moment. Just letting you know though that we're not ignoring you and will get back to you.

yup now they will know exactly what jewels is and isnt, i have to imagine it is hard to follow so many crypto when the devs are not willing to explain in depth their project like pro4never is. i will be listening in to this aswel.

For sure! We want to do everything we can to avoid blending in to the noise of other projects and it's easy to understand why some people may be confused about the project. Clarifying things through interviews, updates to the threads, press releases and more will be very important to us. The more we can inform and educate people about what our project is about, the better Smiley

Just to add on to what we've already posted with the Jewels account..

A big difference between us and other gaming coins is our numerous use cases and tight timeline.

ICO ends with immediate built in demand from apex/triumph
Heroes launches within next month with huge build in demand and will be designed around the use of jewels.
Provably fair gambling integrated into apex, triumph and heroes within 2-3 months.
Provably fair gambling games integrated into other games, other servers and as their own standalone website and mobile apps within 3 months.

The main difference between us and other gaming coins is that we have a ready to use product with significant demand. This built in demand for the jewels is great but it is not where we will stop and is NOT what the funds are being raised for. The funds are being raised so that we can push the coin further with the custom gambling apps and future development and integration in other games.

I'm hoping our request goes over well with blockchain dynamics and other crypto news because we'd love to do some interviews and make sure that we're representing ourselves properly. I definitely don't want this project to be lost in comparisons to other projects which only share certain surface traits.
