Have a question...would it be possible to inline a small power switch to the black fan wire? I was thinking of inlining this switch on the black fan wire so that I can turn the fan on/off as needed. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9609Thoughts? Yes there's no problem with it, except that you need to safely isolate the switch pins since they will lie near or in contact with the aluminium fins

It's most likely USB port power (5V) due to a missing trace on the pcb, so they added that jumper. Definitely an older version pcb. That's my educated guess.
Wolfey2014
I think the same, my modules have a slight different layout in that spot By the way, I'm just desoldering the fans wires (too loud for scrypt mining!) but I would like to found a solution to easily reconnect them if needed...any idea? I'm thinking to something like a male and female adapter (like that ones http://img.dxcdn.com/productimages/sku_214072_2.jpg ) connected together and with the fan lines injected as well, but probably the result is pretty bulk... You could use a male/female inline jack of some sort...prewire the female to your pod and the male to your fan. You'd end up with a tail hanging out of each ready to plug together if you re-mount the fan and fire it up. Or you can just leave the fan mounted and unplugged if/until. It's all at your own risk of course Good luck! Wolfey2014 Thanks, well yes something like that...Since I would like to keep the fans mounted I'll probably take a male and female pcb plug, wire them, add the fan line and isolate the pins with resin for electrical insulator

Sorry. I'm not tech support. Only the messenger. I don't know the answer to your question. Is anyone else having this problem? w2014
Thanks anyway, I've redownloaded the image and try to write with a different software, I'll post here any result Managed to install the image with USBwriter http://sourceforge.net/projects/usbwriter/ (I'm on windows), at the end give me again an out of space error but the firmware seems to work good CAUTION: As the hasha guide mention on last page the web interface start with SHA256 mining selected so if you start mining a SHA256 currency be sure to have the proper power supply and not have disabled the fan in some way. (I know that who is interested in only scrypt mining dismount the fan, stack the miners together and use a smaller psu in order to save space)

HASHRA TO THE RESCUE! I have been authorized by HASHRA to announce.... New firmware for our controllers. Could these be the ultimate cure for our hash configuration woes? No more pissin around with tweak this, config that, change this, debug that....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ladies and Gentlemen! I present 'our saviors'! Get your FREE firmware upgrades here! http://hashra.com/support/A little background via direct quote: "Our firmware "HASHRA CONTROLA" can be found here… hashra.com/support. It is based on CGMiner and we have also made all the source code public on our GitHub page, please feel free to spread the word about it. We were really aiming to create something that was stable, not just blast a whole load of hashing power if it keeps restarting etc. We are happy with what we have so far though it is still in continuous development. We plan to use this as the basis for our future products coming up and is designed for the Raspberry Pi. At present you can use it to mine SHA or SCRYPT though we are still working on the dual aspect… it is proving tricky but we are getting close to having it now stable… to get it you will just need to hit update firmware and it will update straight away. Using our firmware we recommend core speed at 850… should sit at just over 3.6MH for 10 units with no issues." Let me/us all know how it works out. I don't own a controller yet but,,,soon! I want to let all the bugs get worked out, then decide on which is the least hackable, least attackable and most stable controller out there. Peace on Earth folks! Wolfey2014 I've downloaded the hashra controla firmware and followed the guide for installing it on the sdcard. But Win32DiskImager can't install the img because it's too big for the sdcard (I've the oroginal 16gb sdcard formatted with SDfomatter...in theory it should fit) Instead flashnul.exe apparently write all the image on the sdcard but after that the sdcard is not readable. Have you tested the .img with 16gb sdcard or used only a bigger one?

So this is the prototype a friend has made that holds 8 GPUs, which will work well with the 16x 8 way splitter that is currently under development. This is NOT a final design and there are already a few things I want changed, but it's progress in the right direction. Welded aluminum frame and we're shooting for a selling price of $100 worth of GPUC. Working on raw alluminium or others alloy can be worth if you have in mind a design with custom/complex shape, otherwise why bother with it when you can use extruded profiles? I understand that it's just a prototipe but keep in mind that if you are gonna to design a complex shape is imperative to work the pieces with a CNC machine in order to cut them neatly, equally and speed up the build process.

They pay or they get invited to the best exchanges if the coin has good potential and become viral...sadly at the moment is not the case.

Damn right we paid for it. This is capitalism, son. Murica! Oh well, at least it's good looking...

Guys, I bought 1 day ago a new PSU Corsair 850W Gold+, I run my ring for about 24h and the FAN is not runing from first time, I don't know if I have to worry, I have only Mobo and 2 GPU r9 770 OC runing with this PSU, maybe is not using so much power to get hot and FAN to start? Thanks for answers.
The fan should ALWAYS run in those PSU, so it could be faulty and you should worry about it I read in manual, if the PSU push out only 40% from his max power the FAN is not runing, if push out 40% to 60% is spining very silent, I don't know what to do. Here ar some info from their manual: QUIET OPERATION AT LOW LOADS Basic PC power supplies have fans that spin whenever your PC is on – whether you’re pushing your graphics card to the limit or just surfing the web. HX Series power supplies are smarter than that: they generate less heat, so they require less cooling, and the thermally controlled fan only spins when it’s needed. Thank you everyone for answers. Sems I have nothing to worry. Yes it's normal, look to the corsair link that I've posted , under the "tech specs" tab is specified how work the hybrid silent fan control

this is already pretty nice, and in my eyes a big improvement. however, i'd really like to have a static part where you get all the info at one, and then the lower part could be the way its currently. in the end it could look like this (just a dirty 5min job): +1 A clearer informative header would be very nice

Have you tried to look into the task manager just to see what process was causing that ? (can't be cudaminer if it is closed... could be windows explorer though... had something really strange yesterday while plugging my phone into my computer...)
Yeah, there isn't anything visible at all (this is *with* all processes shown for all users). However I might be making some headway: Previous settings: GPU Clock Offset: 0 Memory Clock Offset: +500 I did this because I read somewhere that the GPU clock offset didn't seem to have much of an impact on hashing speed. Anyway I just reset the memory clock offset from +500 to 0, and increased the GPU clock offset from 0 to 20. It was stable (but hashing slower). I cancelled Cudminer and it was responsive in closing. The system CPU usage wasn't through the roof after closing either. I repeated this with a GPU Clock Offset of 40. Same result. System fine. CPU usage looking healthy / normal. I'm going to try to confirm this next, but this appears to suggest increasing the Memory Clock Offset puts a lot more pressure on the system both before and after(?!) mining. Look at my post 2 pages behind, (I've posted some screeshot) and check the "system interrupts" process in the windows resource monitor. You can access to resource monitor from the task manager panel
