141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the average amount i can make from airdrop monthly on: November 18, 2017, 05:02:20 AM
It depends on how you hassle to different kinds of airdrop and how much is the value of that coin after that airdrop happens as most of the coins that is doing airdrops are those coins that have a value of very low so I think it is not profitable at all if you are just relying to those free coins to give you.

You can compute it by yourself if you want to know how much can you earn, try access this website for those coins that is ready for exchanges to trade https://coinmarketcap.com/
142  Economy / Economics / Re: Earning Passive Income of BTC without reducing the amount too much? on: November 18, 2017, 12:21:11 AM
How can we use btc and live of this growing asset? I dont like the idea of using some of that BTC to live. Just like real estate, you buy it, it continues to appreciate in value in general but you also get rental income.

Bitcoin does not do that, all it can do is just go up in value but how can you live of it? Would it be to buy rental properly with it, let THAT go up in value and then take rental income while your other stash of BTC grows?

What is a likely idea here to earn passive income of BTC without reducing the BTC holdings?

The main purpose of Bitcoin is to spend it online like a real currency that is why it is called digital money but we can't take away the fact that it is more worth to hold it rather than to spend it like a normal currency because the price of it continues to grow overtime so some people now really see it as an asset more than a money.

I think it is okay to spend Bitcoin as a money online if you have the capacity to also earn a Bitcoin online because with this the number of your holdings will not be so affected compare to buying Bitcoin with your earned Fiat moneys every now and then.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN AS A COMMODITY: IS THIS ANOTHER ATTEMPT AT SUBVERSION? on: November 17, 2017, 12:48:05 PM
I think almost all of the thing that is worth of an investment is you can consider Bitcoin, I believe it is worth to hold it in a long term basis than to spend it like a currency. Bitcoin created many potential income in the whole world and it also opens up a big virtual market that is involve by a huge market capitalization now and we can't stop it to grow now.

Bankers are mad with Bitcoin as they see it as a threat now and in the future for them because Bitcoin offers a much more greater investment power and usage convenience to the people.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: Massive bitcoin manipulation possible? on: November 17, 2017, 12:40:03 PM
Would it be possible for a group of extremely rich billionaires & other powerful individuals to manipulate the bitcoin market? e.g. Pump and dump, exposure to news networks, lobbying for favourable bitcoin regulation, etc Huh

Of course it is possible because Bitcoin is money and with people having multi billion dollars in asset can penetrate the market of cryptocurrencies if they really want to do it and we can't do anything about it if they will do it. As for example to what happened with Bitcoin Cash extreme price hike that almost reaching $2,500 per Bitcoin Cash that only lasted almost an hour I think this is a pure manipulation of price with the whales in trading because they see the opportunity that it has a big audience at the time and they pump and dump it.

It is true that news is controlled by people who got money to give as it is an advertisement company that the only purpose is to deliver news for free but they will give the people who read or watch their news an advertisement that is catchy even if it's not true, but not always as there is still some legitimate news that exist.

145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where i can spend cryprocurrency? on: November 16, 2017, 10:14:18 PM
In what country has the form of payment of bitcoin or altcoyin been already legalized and legalized? For example in Asia?
Please share a link to the post, if there is one, where are the news collected and updated about this topic?

I think almost of the country in the world doesn't i-llegalized Bitcoin in their jurisdiction yet instead they just regulate it in using by their citizens in some forms. Most of the country in Asia are into Bitcoin because some people believes that Satoshi Nakamoto the creator of Bitcoin are a Japanese. this is the website that I always read about some news and updated topics about Bitcoin https://cointelegraph.com/
146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduction and a few questions on: November 16, 2017, 10:06:34 PM
Hello, all, I'm wanting to ride the bitcoin train, and I have some questions.

So I'm looking to get set up to trade bitcoin. I do quite a bit of buying and selling on craigslist, and I thought maybe accepting bitcoin might entice some people to choose me over other offers.

The two wallets I'm looking at are Coinbase and Blockchain, as they seem to be the most commonly recommended. Coinbase seems to be more of a place to buy bitcoin rather than a wallet, is that accurate?
Coinbase.com and Blockchain.info is indeed well trusted wallet since it was created and started to serve the community and it is considered as an online wallet meaning you don't hold your own private keys so if there is any Hard Fork that will happen in the future you will not be entitled in getting free coins from that specific Hard Fork.

Quote
I'm not really interested in Ether or any of the others, so a wallet that doesn't have any of that fluff might be preferable. I just want to be able to easily pay and accept payment in bitcoin.

Second question, what's the deal with Paxful? Why would anyone pay those outrageous fees? I would prefer to use paypal rather than give up my credit card number, but I'm not paying 50% fees. Why would anyone in their right mind use those guys? Am I missing something here?

I just want to buy some bitcoin to have in my wallet so that I can pay for goods. Nothing crazy, maybe like $500.

You can try Electrum for a Desktop wallet that you will hold your own private keys and store it in your own computer if you really want a convenient local wallet of yours. Paxful is a platform of a buy and sell of different kind of giftcards, freebies, etc.. that accepts Bitcoin as a payment, some of them really put a big fees but they will be more trusted if they done than I think it is more convenient to use your credit card to buy straight Bitcoin instead of putting it on PayPal, you can buy Bitcoin with coinbase using your credit card though.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin wont exists, which coin you think can become the main one and why? on: November 16, 2017, 09:56:42 PM
Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies and it has been created the first and considered the pioneer of cryptographic digital money so if don't exists then there would be no any cryptocurrencies right now but let's just think that if it in case that there is no Bitcoin and someone think or have done a cryptocurrency without the existence of Bitcoin then no doubt that Ethereum will be the number one coin and would be the most invested cryptocurrency today because it is the second among the coins right now that has a big market capitalization.

I also believe that if Ethereum goes first in the market before Bitcoin does then maybe it will hold the 1st place of the cryptocurrency throne, being first really matters after all as you will be the basis.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price are you going to start buying bitcoin again? on: November 13, 2017, 10:57:30 PM
I had a limit order in at $5520 but I've just taken it off because the price is falling so quickly.   I want to increase my stash of BTC but want to be able to buy as much as possible.

If it goes through $5000 I think it could well go to 4300

I would start buying it at $4,000, but it's not likely to happen soon. Thus it's like my dream. The price is very stable above $5,000 and even the correction waves, that wall and support line were not destroyed yet.

I think the pattern won't change a lot in 2018 as well.

Yes it is very unlikely to happen that the price of Bitcoin will go back at below $5000 and even $4000 mark, not unless there is something bad happens with Bitcoin and when there is I think it will be more less than that, this corrections in price that recently happened must be the buying point for all off you if you really want to invest more on it as I think it is already stabilizes at this point of time.

We all can speculate all day though but also think of the fact that Bitcoin always goes up in price since last year so better trust it or regret not buying/investing at all.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After The Protest of Miners on: November 13, 2017, 10:52:07 PM
Can you please cite your sources about this protest.

If SegWit2x implementation will be revive again then I think this is the first time that a Fork that has been cancelled will be brought back in the table, increasing the block size of the Bitcoin network is a must because the number of transaction is unbearable. Bitcoin developers implemented SegWit for a reason and they also want Lightning Network to happen but they want SegWit2x to happen before they do that so if only the consensus will not be a problem again then I hope for it to pass because it is badly needed by the Bitcoin network.
150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the government or banks create their own crypto? on: November 13, 2017, 10:07:03 PM
With the likes of government , NSA ,banks etc..Could they coordinate into creating their own crypto to defeat Bitcoin?
Creating something like 'Legal Bitcoin' , invest and pump, make it succesfull? Make markets aware
Maybe even create their own cryptography where they could still be able to decypher code if they needed to?

Of course each country in the world can create their very own cryptocurrency if they want but I don't that it will surpasses what Bitcoin already achieved because imitating can't drive a thing to a success or even steal the spot of the original one not unless it will offer a great choices and convenient to its users.

Why is it the question is always to defeat, take place, remove, etc.. even though Bitcoin was made for the better good and not meant to destroy Fiat currency. Modern technologies was made for people to use it and not to destroy someone else's lives but it is true that there are businesses that will be obsolete because of it and modernization is inevitable.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let the BCH die on: November 13, 2017, 09:54:10 PM
Now people who throws diffrent kind of things with Bitcoin(original) started to realize the pump that happened with Bitcoin Cash because the price of Bitcoin as of now is slowly coming back to $7,000. Bitcoin Cash was only hyped up by different people who wants to earn a profit from it and I feel sorry to those so gullible enough to believe with this FUD.

Bitcoin Cash stabilize with $1,300 though after the massive pump up to $2,400 that only last for less than an hour, let's hope for the best with both Bitcoin they say and let the true Bitcoin prevail after 6 months or so.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing faith in BTC... on: November 12, 2017, 09:37:07 PM
As you said most of them are 'greedy and care about making money', so you care about your investments too I think but it does make you greedy? you are losing faith with Bitcoin because the price of it goes down not because of the Segwit2x cancellation or maybe I'm wrong.

Quote
“Our goal has always been a smooth upgrade for Bitcoin. Although we strongly believe in the need for a larger blocksize, there is something we believe is even more important: keeping the community together. Unfortunately, it is clear that we have not built sufficient consensus for a clean blocksize upgrade at this time. Continuing on the current path could divide the community and be a setback to Bitcoin’s growth. This was never the goal of Segwit2x.”
This statement for me is an honest and trustworthy developer right there though he prioritize what matters best instead of pushing something that may result for a worst scenario.

Investments have always risk in it and we can't blame people for panicking or losing trust with Bitcoin but if this event will be surpasses by the developers with a better solution then the rocket will soon kiss the moon's surface. Bitcoin is facing now a serious make or brake thing for it and the 10th years anniversary of this digital currency is nearing soon so if it outlast the controversies within the past years then we just hope that it will do the best again this time.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is altcoins on: November 12, 2017, 05:31:39 PM
Pls am a newbie here what is the difference between altcoins and Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the pioneer and first cryptocurrency that has been made by Satoshi Nakamoto, there are now many cryptocurrencies out there right after Bitcoin was created, any succeeding cryptocurrencies are called 'Altcoins', so if you think it logically Bitcoin can be called the 'MainCoin' as the meaning of 'Altcoins' is 'Alternative Coins'.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats Bitcoin? on: November 12, 2017, 05:23:46 PM
i have a big question,

if i have to explain Bitcoin to an elder, how can i do it?

he asks, whats is bitcoin and what is backing it up?

Im really helpless here X_X

any help would be appreciated

Just tell your elder that Bitcoin is the modern currency in the Internet or digital currency that is now being used worldwide with a price of $6000+ and it almost multiplied by 10 since last year. Bitcoin is backed by dollars if you think it logically as the market capitalization of it has $100+ billion now.

Some people said that dollars is backed by gold even though they are not seeing a single piece of gold in their dollar money but they know that it has a value so just like Bitcoin you can't see it but you can withdraw it if you really want to testify your elder, better show how to use it as a money.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Currency Will be Laughable in Five Years Says Billionaire Tim Draper on: November 11, 2017, 11:21:03 PM
"In five years, if you try to use fiat currency, they will laugh at you. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be so relevant ... there will be no reason to have the fiat currencies."
https://cointelegraph.com/news/fiat-currency-will-be-laughable-in-five-years-says-billionaire-tim-draper

What can you say on this folks?

I love Bitcoin and its usage but I don't really think that it will replace Fiat currencies of any country in the next five years or so. Tim Draper is just only so hyped up by the result of his $20 million investments that earned him more than 1000% maybe that's why he said it and he is so happy to laugh about everything. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will surely become more relevant in the next few years though but it will not change the Fiat currency to wherever it is right now.

For me fiat currency symbolizes the identity of a country that it represents so eliminating it is like taking away the thing that is so significant for a nation, not all of the people in the world can use cryptocurrencies and it is meant for the digital world as it is a digital currency.
156  Other / Meta / Re: How to know reasons for banned account which post made it banned ? on: November 11, 2017, 11:03:49 PM
In a banned account deleting the post will do it or not ?

It will not, if your sanction is permanent ban then you can't access your account anymore. To avoid bans just simply read the rules of each section that you posted then you will know to yourself to what is the reason you got banned. Moderators in this forum always pinned their rules in the very first thread of the subject of each sections that must be follow by the members.
157  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-10]Bitcoin Classic Shuts Down As Staff Claim Bitcoin Cash Will Rule on: November 11, 2017, 09:37:26 PM
Business strategy at its finest for Roger Ver's Bitcoin Cash though and a perfect timing for some other investors of BCC to support the FUD with regards with Bitcoin(original). Many people thinks that the cancellation of SegWit2x Hard Fork is a bad reputation to Bitcoin so when somebody tell them that BCC will rise and will change the place of the original one they will tend to pull out their investments to Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency coin to put in on BCC in believing that it will grow and to ride the flow of it.

Nothing we can do though but to wait for the time that the prophecy will happen as it is a make or break for BTC and BCC.
158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what coins will you buy? on: November 11, 2017, 09:12:11 PM
If you had 10,000$ what all coins would you buy?
And in what proportion?
What would be the major/significant precautions that you would take?

If I have 10,000$ then I will buy Bitcoin today as the price of it goes down to nearly to $5,999 again as I really trust the future of Bitcoin because I feel it ever since I discovered it last year. Even though many people still thinks that Bitcoin is a bubble or does panic sell their holding it will not affect my belief on it as it is normal for any currency market to have an corrections in price.

The significant thing that I would do is to if I bought $10k worth of Bitcoin is to hold it up until the year 2020 comes to lessen the headaches that may arise for the never ending volatility of it. Anything can happen in the future though and there are positive and negative signs with Bitcoin but it's okay with me to still invest.
159  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-09] Cryptocurrency Exchanges in China Are Officially Dead on: November 11, 2017, 09:00:40 PM
I clearly don't understand the government of China to what they up to in regard of cryptocurrencies exchanges if this issue is really true or will be finalize soon because if the Chinese government hates Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies then they must ban it along with the Chinese cryptocurrency miners to show the world that they are really into it and to show that they can control its citizens but they are more into exchanges and not those miners where the sources of coins came from.

My perspective about this is if they can't regulate it then abolish the cause and effect of it otherwise they must put a dedicated department of their government to control and regulate the inside and out of cryptocurrencies.

160  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Attorney Bitcoin Issues Warnings. on: November 11, 2017, 08:51:00 PM
I see this information of yours very helpful to those people who are not aware to what is happening in Bitcoin in dealing with different kinds of problems online, it is true that most ICOs and new exchanges are facing a lot of scam accusation because there are people who owns a big amount of cryptocurrencies that entrusting their money into it.

I just would like to ask if there is any legal laws that can be given to those victims if the scammers has been trace because all I think for now is that people must only take care with themselves as there is no concrete laws regarding about these left and right scams.
