Mixed gpus (r9 series with rx series) works? If yes with r or rx os version?
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PRE LOADED OS's (Windows/Linus) on: January 20, 2017, 02:14:18 AM
so far iv tested

Windows XP
Windows 7
Windows 10

Ubuntu 12.04 (LTS which ever version that is XD)
Debian 7,8

Raspbian
Miner O.S
Debian 8 for orangepi

for windows i go with cgminer, linux i go with BFGminer simnply because it play more native with the com ports

dont see much diffrence between O.S's but the little device ones Raspbian, Miner O.S, Debian 8 for orangepi do have alot more isuse with the amount of devices you can connect and none have full power USB ports so its alot less stable

that said 9/10 i still fall back to windows 7 (xp is nice and light but kinda outdated) windows 7 is a nice balance and windows 10 is just fat (its designed to take advantage of newer PC's)

that said if i wanted to do a USB pendrive id go with Debian all the way and BFGminer, Windows does alot of read write to disks so kill a pendrive alot quicker than debian would (debian and linux in general tend to use ram disks as much as possible)

Can you send a link for more information about this miner os?
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PRE LOADED OS's (Windows/Linus) on: January 19, 2017, 06:50:42 PM
i like to try all OS's to mine

For linux i already use:

PIMP
SimpleMining OS --> Free and the best one! (but uses old linux version)
ETHOS --> Very good now that we can use CM minier's

Any other good linux OS pre loaded to mine?

For Windows:

I did not get any preloaded Windows OS, does anyone know how to make a pendrive windows 10 to boot?

I found one to sell here:

https://mineshop.eu/software/60-gb-ssd-ultimate-mining-software-with-windows-10-detail

but i dont think we need to buy...

Tks  Huh

Hi tytanick..

Optiminer 1.4 ubuntu..Rx 470--275 hash,Rx 480--295 hash

Optiminer 1.4 Simpleminer Rx 470 Max.. 259 hash..Why?

Oc with Core-7 mem-0 ----255 hash
Oc with Core-7 mem-15 ---259 hash ??Simpleminer optiminer 1.4 low speed..

send me email to admin@simplemining.net

I can apply beta kernel for you, and you can check if it will help.

optiminer does not work well on SM, use CM 11.1

Well I have managed to write image. Ubuntu starts some programs runs but after a 20-30 sec initial screen flickers with some artefacts and PC seems not responding - seems like driver problem or something.

try to use only one gpu and them install the others..

i have on rig with 6 gpus and SM did not work at the beggining, after i install only 1 gpu the SM starts, then i imput the others...

153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - added sgminer-gm XMR/ETH/ZCASH on: January 11, 2017, 12:28:11 PM
Hi Tytanick,

What the difference between "Reload Miner program" and "Reboot Rig" -- and at what events do we need to use it?

Usually, I use "Reboot Rig" for best results -- ie restart from OS boot assuming this is will refresh all memory, CPU, GPU etc.

Thanks

Few inportant Infos about SM OS.

Reload miner: it closes existing miner, downloads config from simplemining and starts miner. This action is used when you change RED OPTIONS (pool for example).
Also if you change individual rig OC options, then reload occurs. But in kernel i think there is a bug in changing OC setting for second time.
So its better to restart miner after changing OC setting to see fresh real results.

Restart miner: It reboots rig using FORCE method - even if gpus is hanged it will reboot rig. This is

Also new kernels 4.9.1 and 4.10 gives 3-7 % speed performance boost in mining and also fix some OC problems.
After i will make shop for SimpleRigResetter i will do special button for upgrading kernel on selected rigs for everyone.
So you can expect some performance boost soon Smiley
I need to do more tests. And also i need to test new amd driver to see if they will make any difference or meaby kernel 4.9 has those drivers and thats why it has better performance..
Just not all at once because my time is eaten by too much tasks right now Tongue
Anyway i will move forward beta testing to test new updates faster and make simplemining even better.

I am also extending free period of using SimpleMining OS - it will be totally free for at least 1-2 months. Propably more.
I am still waiting for more users to come into my OS so charging 1-3$ would make sense Smiley
Also my fee concept could change, i am thinking about charging 1$ for basic functions and 3$ for better ones. Still i dont have time for this so it stays free...
Thx again for your support, i will move forward simplemining OS propably from march 2017 when i suppose i will have more time Tongue

very nice..

is there a way for me to upgrade the kernel?

nice video..

if i want to acces on other network, how can i configure?

ex. i am on other city and want to reset my rig..
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The Correct Way of Powering Your Risers for your RX 470/480 on: January 07, 2017, 11:44:20 PM
Unfortunately the PCIe Slot power is at least 5Amps or so for the 470/480. Some of the 6 pin 480 even use much more than 5 Amps. You can't power too many of them with the daisy chain Molex and especially the SATA connectors. Even the 8 pin 470s draw around 5 Amps from the slot.

If you have the space, best would be to install NO MORE THAN 1 of your 470/480 directly onto the motherboard.

I would avoid using any SATA connectors to power any of the 470/480 GPUs. They draw at least 60 watts and those SATA connectors are generally used for hard drives which draw about 5 watts on average.

I wouldn't use any more than 1 of the Molex connectors to power any 470/480. Usually a PSU has 2 sets of these (6 molex in total) so you can power 2 GPUS from each seperate chain.

The best method would be as follows. Usually most PSUs have 2x 6+2pin on each chain such as follows.

You would plug in one of those to your 470/480 #1 connection and the other would always be unused. Since the length wouldn't reach the next card. So you would buy a PCIe extension cable such as below

Plug in the unused PCIe #2 connector to this extension and splice the other end +12V and GND directly onto your Risers power.

This way you could run any number of high power 480s and overclock them to the max and you would never have any melt since the PCIe has plenty of power and is a higher gauge.

where can i find the pci to molex adapter?

Update?

v10 is not so good..
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: January 07, 2017, 09:17:57 PM
Would you specify more details on using this parameter:
Code:
- added "-a" option to select best algorithm implementation for your GPU.

Read Readme.txt.
If you want to know what -a value is the best for your card - currently you have to try them all.

i really like CM miners, but at this time i do not understant the meaning of lauch a version that is not ready yet. And there is no improvments for r9 series..

UPDATE: v1052

- optiminer-zec v1.3 ( you need to reload miner or restart  pc)

Miner crashed restarting 10 seconds
 Huh

Impossible to use this miner.. back to claymore's

it is wotking but you need lower memory oc fot this miner.

i will wait for CM.. more stable..

here even using stock, this miner crashs a lot...

What a shit with almost all pools? They are stilling our money or it was so hard difficulty recently? I have second day minus 30% of usually profit...

Pools was gambling with your money, and after btc price drop they have to cover losses somehow...  Roll Eyes

Last 5 days (120hours) sunday 16:00 to friday 16:00

dwarfpool = 0,51337148 => 0,102674296 per day for 1400 Sol/s seems to be a lot less than the week before christmas ??
(with my calculation 20% less than two weeks ago)
or is the difficulty 20% higher than the week before christmas ??

Next week i will try suprnova  Grin

have a nice day

P.S.: 1400 Sol/s -3% Dev-Fee - 0,5% rejected - 1% pool fee = 1337 Sol/s ----> should be 0.1337 zec per day ---> 0,6685 zec for the 5 days

For last 12 hours, while I see that every sec my card is finding new shares, faking pool didn't get me any profit...
They are faking thiefs!

what a bunch of mother fakers huh

Which pool? supernova?

Use Nanopool and be happy!!
