141  Other / Off-topic / London terror attack on: June 04, 2017, 05:20:37 AM
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/live/bbcnews

So its happened again.. bunch of scum used a van to ram people on London bridge then started attacking people with knives.

Our government is more focused of making sure we don't "offend" Muslims and we are "tolerant"

Tolerant of children being blown to bits at a pop concert.  tolerant of people attacked in the street.  The government is supposed to PROTECT its people..

Also this is the 4th time.. the people involved were supposedly on a "watch list"  If they are on a watch list what the fuck are they doing in our country..

Last time I checked this was BRITAIN not Islamabad...

Our country is fucked! we have let far too many radical Muslim in our country they have established networks that allow them to operate and cause chaos on our shore.

Mr trump might have had a point about banning travel for many Muslim country.. We should do the same..

I want to know why they don't attack the government its them who are fighting a war 10000's of miles away which no one in the UK want. Its like we no longer have a voice the govermentn do what they want with no regard for the public and the back lash it has on innocent people...

Absolute disgrace uk government!!!!

mostly non will send machines to unknown member.

Just keep searching locally .

you ask for many rare machines spoondolies knc, those will prob be collectable .
dont think people will give them away for free .

try to find s1 those are cheap if you got free electricity then you wont have any worries.

btc train already left , you want to catch a late ticket you gotta invest, if you have free power then i see  why not ivnesting from your own pockets instead of kinda  "begging" almost...

good luck

I am investing I am paying for a location to host such a facility..
I am however reluctant to pay crazy prices from ebay miners that are sat doing nothing or are being sold because they have errors on the chips or do not hash correctly.

It also makes sense for someone who is sitting on miners not using them. unable to sell them because on one will buy them to donate them to the cause.

Also with the transactions fee's being a touch higher right now it is a good time to try bring some more power back to the network.

I am in no way begging for equipment. If someone likes my idea and wishes to donate something that's more than welcome and I have stated that each donation would receive a % of the return from the mine.

I also would be covering the expense of the delivery for the item (unless someone really likes the idea)

I got a couple of s3's off ebay for like £60 each..

Recently I have been able to acquire some work space and the electricity is included in my rental for each month so technically I have a golden opportunity to take old hardware and put it to some use.

I was thinking of trying to get a group of people together who have old hardware sitting doing nothing and put it to some good use they have the hardware I require and I have a supply of "almost" free electricity, I have some other small plans too for this that I would like to keep close to my chest until I have written up some kind of plan of action ect for the idea.

My thinking is its probably better the equipment gets used and is of some benefit to the network that it gathering dust doing nothing with almost no future apart from the bin or stripping bits out of them.

I have already a couple of s3's and bought some nice wire shelving the size of the room is about 18sq FT so there is a decent amount of space to be used up.

Also if you look on Ebay UK the prices people are selling used miners for is quite extortionate considering none of them would make a ROI if I was to spend the money buying them all.

What's in it for the equipment supplier I hear you ask?

Well my idea was that everyone who participates / donates something to the idea be that PSU's / Miners ect ect would be rewarded with some % which is more that they are making right now if its sat doing nothing.

This is still a very early idea but I feel the chance to use this unit with its inclusive power is too good of a opportunity to miss out on hence coming to the community with the idea..

I have already had a kind word with a member who is well known in the mining development world and he has offers some spondoolie sp20s if I cover the shipping so I guess the project is really off to a good start!

144  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Old Mining Equipment? on: June 04, 2017, 02:39:03 AM
I was more looking to make contact with people who might have old machine lying about.. 90% of the ones on ebay are fuked. or are listed on hacked accounts they steal your money and believe me they get it out paypal before you can put in a dispute.. then its a epic wait to get your money back!

145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: There are absolutely no good values out there anymore on: June 04, 2017, 01:44:39 AM
I agree.. No one missed the boat. The price will come back down be sure of that! then people will jump back into the market the real issues right now regard transactions. sooner we get segwit on the go the better the network will be..

I also think there is massive potential in some of the alt coins.. possibly bigger potential that bitcoin has to be honest. will they ever reach the same value as bitcoin.... Only time will tell..
146  Economy / Computer hardware / Old Mining Equipment? on: June 04, 2017, 01:16:45 AM
So I was wondering if anyone here might have some old miners or old PSU's they no longer require.

If anyone has any old ant miners, KNC's, Spondoolies ect  or anything else lying about mining related I would like to hear from you.

Thanks
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need basic info about mining! on: June 03, 2017, 01:36:17 AM
Mining can still be rewarding to the home miner if you use the returns from the mining wisely and make use of some of the exchanges and get into trading in the alt coin market.

You must factor in the electricity you will burn running a miner and work out exactly how much time you have to put into something like this.

There are some good resources you can look into also.

I remember seeing a topic on stackoverflow wayyy back in bitcoin that had some relevance also must be been done during the development of bitcoin.
149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best PSU for x2 Antminer s3 on: June 02, 2017, 04:39:27 PM
Yep. They're available for cheaper in the US but I assume you're from the UK judging by the eBay link. Mine looks a bit different but the manufacturer makes different BB models for the PSU.

Thanks for the advice

151  Bitcoin / Hardware / Best PSU for x2 Antminer s3 on: June 02, 2017, 12:52:28 AM
Hi guys.

Managed to pick up two s3's in great condition with hardly any use on them.. Only issue being they do not come with the PSU's

Is there a single PSU that can run both of the miners at the same time and if so what recommendations would you have for powering them.

Thank you!

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Somebody make this: auto-exchanger bitcoin wallet on: May 31, 2017, 08:58:46 AM
Currently working on something just like this!  its kind of a multi function platform it will have a traditional exchange for fiat and the normal buy sell exchange crypto also a trading platform like mt4 for trading the markets but one of the features was going to be the ability to convert alt coin micro transactions into btc / eth payments and the integration of "Quick Convert Addresses™"  that would automatically convert deposited coins into alt's or into bitcoin depending on the users preference.

I think the idea is spot on and with the right development behind it and backing would make for a very successful project.

PS I am always keen for developers to come and help out in the project .
156  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: May 31, 2017, 05:32:33 AM
Trading / Gambeling are two ways but both are inherently risky by design.. Yes you can make good money doing them I am sure there are many members here that can vouch for trading and gambling but always keep in mind only invest or risk what you are HAPPY to lose.  If you think its too risky walk away!  greed can be a bad thing in bitcoin.. I know ive got greedy gambling before and lost a lot of coins to silly dice games and betting.

I gave up on the gambling and focus solely on trading and selling my coins now it was the best move ever!
157  Economy / Economics / Re: The fluctuation in pricing.. on: May 31, 2017, 02:58:27 AM
is creating a wall that makes it harder for BTCto be a universal economic currency. Stores may take 1BTC for a product and in the AM that 1BTC could be valued at .08BTC. Obviously theres a ton of positives to this happening I think more than negatives. I for one hope it does though because USD is getting old Smiley
Bitcoin is not that volatile you are talking about bitcoin losing more than 90% of its value in less than a few hours, while there are variations in price such wild variations are not going to happen with bitcoin for the simple reason you will need hyper inflation for that to happen and that is impossible in  bitcoin, other currencies have followed that path like the mark of the Wiemar republic.

There is always a possibility of it crashing it can never be ruled out. I doubt it would happen in a few hours but the possibility is always there for it to drop in value.
Many factors could cause this.

World Wide Black outs.
Sustained attack on the blockchain
Even solar radiation could knock out all the computers in the world at some point and it would be bye bye all crypto!

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Altcoins to buy? on: May 31, 2017, 02:52:12 AM
DASH / ETH / XRP / LTC

Are the ones I would be backing at the moment. All have done well in the past few weeks with ETH being outstanding, The jump in value for ETH was fantastic!
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Starting a new coin on: May 31, 2017, 02:50:23 AM
Without technical skills I would suggest creating a token instead. The easiest token to create I've seen are those based on the WAVE platform, it literally takes 1 minute to do.

I do know quite a bit about php / html / json / bitcoin core / node.js  ect so technically that is not a issue.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Starting a new coin on: May 31, 2017, 02:46:58 AM
I have looked into the source online of things like BTC and LTC and Dodge I don't want to use the dodge model as the code is bunk..

Just looking for some advice on where the best reference to coin creation can be found..

And everyone has to start somewhere!

I don't need someone to design me one I could edit the code for dodge or LTC but I want to have some more solid knowledge behind it rather than go change all the names and info in the code and say hey check out this new coin..  I would rather take the code and improve on it add new features ect..
