Yes this is doing no good for crypto at all, it is the best to remove your coins directly after you buy them on a exchange. Just a a matter of time when the attack Bittrex-Cryptsy-Poloniex  You're right. It makes crypto look like a juvenile delinquent's playground. Attacks are the exception. The norm is that insiders (those that run the exchange, paper wallet creator, what-have-you website) make off with the funds, and as long as they can continue to get away with it, they will keep stealing and saying "hope you guys understand." |

The new script is too long, too complicated, too convoluted, and too confusing. Ask yourself if you'd put it on the OP or the website, and if the answer is no, then ax it.
KISS: keep it simple stupid. Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old (or your grandmother), and, whatever you do, don't be pretentious!

I think that's basically what it came down to; correct anyone me if I'm wrong on that. Well iam in for it, this domain is still free digibyteforum.com But who has the knowledge to build it I do. But I was more thinking about Slack. I have setup a channel a while ago. It's your choice guys. If you like a messageboard more, i can setup a board. No problem! So, what will it be? A board or Slack? The downside of (free) Slack is that you can only read back to 10k messages while a board is basically unlimited. + You can create multiple threads about different subjects. Like, 1 thread about the video, 1 thread about marketing, stuff about DigiByteTip, etc, etc. You can all read it back faster + Jared doesn't have to read 1000 messages about the price but can just focus on the useful stuff like bugs, features, ideas. I'm willing to pay for the domain and hosting + i'll set it up for free. So, discuss, decide and lemme know. There are several places here where we could "compartmentalize" while still benefiting from shared strengths with BitCoinTalk at the same time.  |

My idea for the multilingual "DigiByte Accepted Here" would be to have "Accepted Here" written in all the languages, repeating over and over, as a watermark behind the main logo and main language (dependent on the region where it would be used). Sadly I have no skills with InDesign or Illustrator, but I hope someone can picture what I have in mind. DigiByte

I think, the language can be formalized a bit more, especially, at: 0.35 secs, like "you can either purchase DGB from exchanges or mine.... etc..", in general, language can be improved in a more formal way. This is really important, implying that how serious DGB is and can take the attention of serious investors.
Also again at at: 0.35 secs, since we give mining information, in the next frame, explain how to mine and mention the security of DGB with that 5 mining algorithms, for example, each algorithm can be circularized around DGB logo.
And I agree that music is a bit disturbing, it could have been better.

I'm a native speaker and I couldn't even keep up with it. Had to watch a second time and still didn't get it all. I know that we're an attention deficit generation that loses interest after the 5 second mark, but the video moves so fast that the opposite might actually happen with the excessive speed being a turn off! Really now, the video is so good that is should be savored! Even modern techies are known to "endure" full length movies when they are good enough! I think this video is so good that slowing it down by 50%, that is to say, making it twice as long with the exact same content, will actually serve to enhance it even more. |

Everyone, We are working on a second DigiByte promotional video with a professional voiceover. So far here is the script we have. What does everyone think? What other hit points can we make? Remember our goal is to keep things as simple and straight forward as possible. Okay, so, what is a DigiByte?

I think your suggestions are good - the active voice is always better than the passive when trying to communicate dynamism and encourage action. With regards to "each DigiByte transaction", I think the correct tense is the present however, since it is something that is always true and always happens: each DigiByte transaction is verified electronicallyOne thing I'd like to add: it might be worth explaining the "peer to peer" phraseology since the non-technical may not understand that at first. Something like "DigiBytes are sent directly from peer-to-peer, or in everyday terms, from one user directly to another" might be advisable. You might also be more specific with "type of currency". That kind of vague language makes it look like the writer either doesn't know, or is hiding something. I would suggest "a cryptographic digital currency", which is very specific and describes exactly what it is. Never start a sentence or paragraph with "but" - "but" is a conjunction. In this case the word "nevertheless" is much more appropriate. (line 6) In line 7 "small reward" is much better than "little reward" - the first communicates information regarding size, and the second evokes subliminal questions about whether it is worth doing or not. Consistently coherent organization is important as well. Wouldn't line 8 be better right after line 4, for example? Or might it not even be better if it were directly incorporated into the end of line 4? Negative statements about the competition are to be very carefully considered and used sparingly. Negativity of any kind in promotional materials is generally not advised. "DigiByte transactions are fully confirmed within 3 minutes" might be enough in and of itself. "DigiByte’s state-of-the-art security makes it 5 times more secure than first generation, single algo digital currencies" might also be worth considering as it is more positive and focuses mainly on DigiByte's lead and distinction in general, rather than a tit-for-tat battle with someone else who you might even be indirectly suggesting is better than you by the very fact that you feel the need to compare directly (also, this line begins with "and", and, again, conjunctions should not be used to start sentences - "and" should be omitted here as well). As others have already confirmed, the correct phrase is "instead of". That's my "quick look" contribution. If I had more time I'd take a closer look, but by the looks of things here with this community, I'm sure we'll all get a final edit that is the best it can possibly be. Cheers everyone. |
