1401  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The "Coalition of Terror" fell apart but US regime isn't giving up! on: January 04, 2024, 08:51:07 AM
It's no longer news that the united States is the brain behind all the conflicts and killings going on around the world, what they are actually doing now is they will refuse to address an issue that may result into conflicts, till when it has gone out of hand.
After that, they will start puring fuel into fire by sending weapons, instead of call for restrain.

I'll never support war or killings of innocent people because it's inhumane to target and kill people who have not done any wrong, wars unfortunately should be between trained personals and should have rules of engagement. I know that majority of nations depends on a few powerful nations to supply them killing machines, this is a normal trade, because nations map out a lot of money in their budgets to buy arms and amunitions to protect their territories, so without being biased in this evil trade which every nation participates in, US supplies Israel, with weapons for their forces to fight with, I think that is a normal waepon trade, just like everyother nations do. Perhaps Hamas, should also buy arms from other weapon manufacturing nations and protect their citizens, seeing that it's them that started the offensive in the first place. I'm by no means supporting Israel, if they're targeting Palestinian civilians as alleged.
1402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What thread can earn newcomers merit on: January 04, 2024, 07:25:30 AM
We all know the beginning stage is not easy as a newcomer needs to be patient. Atleast he or she should be getting no matter how little some reward for their resources in terms of time and materials.
I joined the forum and all I told some people around me about it, the next question is," how much have u earned", I was absolutely discourage as I remained mute till date.

I empathize with you on what you're saying, most of us went through that stage of expecting our posts to be given merit when we feel that we've really put efforts to make quality posts, but the system doesn't really work that way, you'd have have to be consistent with quality posts and eventually the merit will start to come. However seeing that you're still new in the forum, merit should not be your main focus for now, you should rather concentrate on increasing your cryptocurrency knowledge, with time members will be rewarding your quality posts with merit. It's true that the merit system can not be said that it's fair, because despite the quality of your posts, if no member merits you, there's nothing you can do about it, if you quit it won't affect their campaign earnings. So it's best that you don't worry about getting merit now and try to learn and flow with the discussions
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China ban people from using usdt on: January 04, 2024, 06:43:00 AM
China can never be crypto friendly and has left no stone unturned to stop people from indulging into anything to do with crypto, it will eventually fail like it has failed in the past and now I feel it's nothing new to an communist regime that it wants it's population to stay poor and behave like sheep. It would be loss to China already billionaires and millionaires are leaving Chine for other free nations where they don't have restrictions on anything and everything, this will only add up to the list of miseries it will go through.

It's really sad what cryptocurrency is facing in some parts of the world, governments are being threatened by the freedom and privacy that these digital currencies and other related currencies beings, so for china, to ban or restrict it's citizens from using usdt, doesn't come as a surprise, since they're not a crypto friendly country. I'm just thankful that the majority of countries appreciates the usefulness of usdt in the crypto space, so the adoption will continue despite the glitches from time to time. Even the US government through their security services have access to monitor activities of usdt in the USA, so there's is interference and china's, is ban, we'll see how it plays out with other world power nations.
1404  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: See reason why other African country envy us on: January 03, 2024, 07:07:57 PM
Nigeria, na giant of Africa, based on individual levels, every thing wey di OP talk na achievements wey ordinary people and di private sectors de hustle, from music, movie, sports, entrepreneurs to even crypto business, na di private efforts of Nigerians. But if you de talk about di matter for our national levels, Nigeria, still be sleeping giant, because our government need to wake up to dem responsibilities and restore our lost glory to take our position as an active giant. Na for where we get pass mark for our national level? abi na for power supply? Abi na for refinery wey we still de suffer from subsidy matter?  Abi na our naira wey de devalue everyday, wey di purchasing power don drastically reduce? Abi na for security matter? Every administration go enter and give us false hope, wen dem comot for office, di country go de worse off, another one go continue with the same promises.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: January 03, 2024, 04:20:47 PM
Probably many people has invested in bitcoin and they got profit and some also got loss for the investment, also some people have converted their business payment with bitcoin instead of making payment with fiat currency but nevertheless you can not decide to follow a steps of someone who benefited with bitcoin and open a shops and demand payment with bitcoin,

So myself I have decided to launch a vehicle parts shops in my city by January 2024 and I have decided to use Bitcoin as one of the criteria of payment because of what I'm seeing for bitcoin increment and my country that permit for cryptocurrency transaction in my country, secondly I want to start having my own bitcoin with the payment of my vehicle parts, I don't know if mempool of bitcoin I have being hearing will still continue by next year 2024 because I sense that it's what will bridge people not to make a payment with bitcoin if i open by January 16th, because all the necessary arrangements has already put in place and  awaiting for January 16th to open officially.

This is a good move for a Bitcoin holder to take, because by accepting Bitcoin as a payment option, when your customers make payments with it, you're also using the opportunity to accumulate it in readiness for the coming ATH bull run. Although you'd need to purchase your vehicle parts from the manufacturers with fiat currency, so that payments made in Bitcoin by your customers can be solely hodled for bull run, this is just an advice on my part. You however have to consider the Bitcoin high transaction fees, this can be a disadvantage for now since the fees is still quite high, and introducing lightening networks and other alternative means of evading the high fees can be cumbersome, because we don't know for sure when the mempool will dicongest.
1406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Last hack of the year 2023 on: January 03, 2024, 03:22:18 PM
Major hacks in the cryptocurrency ecosystem space are popular in the forum every year but I didn't hear this one from the main boards. Or is it because the hack is for altcoin? The amount they hacked form the company [Orbit] is very big. I don't know why ball this cryptocurrency companies are careless about their website security. If you are dealing with a financial services in the internet, you have to more proactive to secure your services because definitely hackers must attempt to hack it. Even physical banks arm robbers attack so no financial institution or company is saved in anywhere.

Hacking now is norm for them. Every year we must hear one hacking to another. I believed it was last year Stake.com was also hacked.

I guess that it's not easy to hear about every major hacks in cryptocurrency, as they're occuring everytime, it's fast becoming a normal story to hear that exchanges or wallets have been hacked. I feel that so far it's human intelligence that developed these technologies, it'll also take another human intelligence to compromise the system, sometimes these hacks can even be an inside job, someone that knows their security codes or an ingenious intelligent mind that knows how the system is developed. Anyhow it's a worrisome trend and if it continues to gain ground then it'll drastically reduce the trust in the crypto industry, people will be skeptical about investing their money in any crypto related businesses. So to be on the safer side it's better to keep our coins in a none custodial wallet, instead of centralized exchanges, to minimize being among the victims of scams.
1407  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 03, 2024, 01:51:19 PM
Thanks for listing some habits to avoid if we want to achieve greatness and attain a new financial height in this new year 2024, financial freedom is possible if we have the right mindset and be disciplined to follow success parts.

What I can add to your list is that we must endeavor to live bellow our means or income, if we're able to do this then it'll be hard to become broke. Living bellow our income will afford us the opportunity to save and have investments without resorting to borrowing or begging, example is that we can task ourselves to do DCA method to accumulating Bitcoin. If you're spending according to your income or above your income, it'll be very difficult to have any investments without external help and we should not put all our hope on others because they can disappoint us. Always begin a financial plan with what you have, this is why we must be very prudent in spending so we can save from our income, so any external income will be a support to our 2024 investment plan.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 03, 2024, 12:52:19 PM
I know for sure that if we take periodic account of how many times that we gamble, maybe weekly, monthly or yearly, we'll find out that the loses are far greater than the winnings, so I sometimes wonder how we can be indulging in something that we lose far more than we gain, in the name of having fun. I know that it's human nature to want to conquer, defeat, control and be the leader, yet we go into gambling knowing that the system doesn't give us a fair advantage of achieving these aims, yet we're happy to go back and likely be defeated again.

Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?

now, what is gambling to you? for me, gambling is expensive entertainment and contains a lot of risk. then, what allows us to have fun and get pleasure. yeah, the answer depends on each individual.

Thanks for your analysis, I specially captured this sentence from your post because it really gives meaning to your perspective of fun and gambling, to you it's expensive entertainment that contains a lot of risks. I can relate to that because certain people can actually be entertained by losing their money, only I used to think that it's only the super rich people that can gamble with such a mindset, but if an average income earner can truthfully gamble without caring whether they win or lose, then it'll truly be qualified as an expensive fun. I guess that is why it's often advice that we should gamble the amount that we can afford to loose, so that the risks of having fun can be minimized.
1409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: January 03, 2024, 11:53:38 AM
There are few factors that leads to unfavourable trading, these factors includes Greed, and chasing a trend, Traders are expected to encounter Challenges during trading and relating these challenges with people's experiences can be the key in solving the challenge,
Sticking to the trading plan is also good to avoid unfavourable trade as changing plans in the middle of a trade Can really lead to a loss in trade.

If the trading pattern you stick to stops working for you, and you probably stop gaining profit from trading, then it is time to review other trading patterns and make some changes because no one wants to lose.

Greed is not always favorable, but following trends pays sometimes when you do good research about the trend and take caution before starting to follow the trend.

I believe that inasmuch as it's good to stick to a pertan in trading and follow it through, we shouldn't be too rigid because we might discover midway that we're charting in the wrong part. So what I think is that we should apply caution and patience while making trading decisions so we can get profitable results, I think that in some rare cases that it's ok to follow trends if you must, only that whatever decisions must be carefully thought out. Why I say this is because with the best trading pertans and perfect market analysis and predictions, traders still experience loses, so the trader can sometimes be dynamic and change a strategy when it's absolutely necessary.
1410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How is an ordinary person's week going in your country? on: January 03, 2024, 10:59:19 AM
In most countries people who work in established companies, do the same 8 or 9 to 5 job routine every week day, I think that is the standard, the difference will be the salaries and job securities. Although in factory jobs The owners tends to exploit their workers who work longer ours for very poor salaries.

I'm self employed, I run a small business and I open shop by 8am and close by 8pm, Monday to Saturday, my business is not stressful, so I find time to do crypto stuff. I spend my Sunday with my family, we go to church in the morning and most afternoons we look for somewhere fun to visit, maybe a cool mall, the beach, visit family and friends, if we're expecting a visit from any of them, then we stay at home.

Most business people in the big cities in Nigeria, likes to hang out after business hours, you'd see a lot of beer and assorted meat and fish berbecue joints, some days I'd have a few drinks and chops with friends and take some home to wifey.
1411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin - Contentment / Addiction on: January 03, 2024, 09:31:10 AM
Human needs are insatiable, so the more you aquire the more needs that will arise, so inasmuch as we're alive, we'll always want to accumulate wealth, if for nothing else, just for the fear of the unknown. Although I think that Bitcoin accumulation can only be called addiction if a holder will neglect very important financial needs that arises and still goes ahead to buy Bitcoin, with money that could be used to solve the problem, or if the holder will not take care of their financial responsibilities because they want to continue accumulating. But if a holder can meet basic financial obligations and decides to be putting certain percentage of their income into accumulating Bitcoin for the future, then it can be classified as contentment, although it's important to work out a long term time frame on how to use or enjoy the accumulated ROI.
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Gainers Among Token on: January 03, 2024, 08:31:26 AM
I don't see any reputable coins or tokens in here. Some of them are, actually most of them I have never heard of. I am a guy who likes to take it safe and not risk everything on something new which may or may not have potential to grow in the future. Despite being the top gainers in the last 24 hours, anything could happen to them at any given time.
Researching something new in the altcoin market seems like hassle and west of time to me. They could actually have potential but as everything goes with altcoin, when the trend or hype is over, the project is most likely dead. Thank you for bringing up the topic but I don't think this will do any good for me.
The price pump could happen anytime given the current market situation. For that reason, try to stick with something reputable which can take you a long way. And if you are able to take the advantage of the recent market condition, then sure you should take it. Just a little reminder, don't blindly buy anything that shows green right now. Anything that goes up counts down as well.

It's good to be informed about the latest happenings and trends in the crypto space, so investors can be better informed when choosing any coins to put their money in, it's also more important to diligently carry out research before emberking on the journey. The top gainers in the last 24 hours as listed in the OP is not a guarantee that they'll keep pumping and be profitable for investors to rush and buy them, because anything can happen in the coming 24 hours which might change the naretive of their positions. Like you I'll rather stick with  reputable altcoins and Bitcoin that have proven their consistency in the crypto market, knowing that even if they experience price dips that they'll surely pump back with higher ROI.
1413  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why some newbies dey quick lose interest for the forum?? on: January 02, 2024, 06:05:42 PM
Most times na di mindsets wey newbies carry enter di forum na im de determine how dem go operate or last for di forum, so if a newbie take small maturity enter di forum, dem go de apply wisdom to de follow as di system be. If dem first understand say first thing first na to gain knowledge, den na to get tolerance to accept every criticism, despite dem best efforts, because dem wan to learn from people wey dem no pay shishi. Secondly make di thoughts of campaign and earning for di forum be motivation for dem to focus on improving demsef with quality posts, no be say dem go want am rush rush. I enter di forum with zero knowledge about cryptocurrency, so I focused on learning , despite whether I receive positive or negative remarks for my posts, because I reason say if I vex comot e no go affect dis people campaign rewards.

Aldo some of our senior ogas dem suppose to de correct newbies with love, no be for only our local board but for di entire forum, so di newbies go de encouraged to continue to de try.

Las las, merit matter na im be di Koko, infact na im be di main ingredient to take give newbies di greatest morale to de active and to de try to make quality posts. E no easy to de put efforts and nothing to show, e de kill morale, no matter di maturity of mind. So if members go de reward newbies with merit, like di boss @Cryptopreneuerbrainboss, e go de very good. I hope say make we get more merit sources for our board, e go encourage newbies to de active and do quality posts.
1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if an altcoin is a scam on: January 02, 2024, 04:09:51 PM
Some altcoins can still pass KYC, have a licence, pass some audit verification, and still be scammed. It's very easy, and it's common during this period to acquire information that could be used to pass such verification. Such verification is common online, and that's why the dark web has been declared a bad place because they sell things like that.

We should always do our own research and see how serious those who are offering some tokens to us are and if what they say they are creating is being created and developed as they say they are developing, because most of them are just making fake promises and using that means to raise funds from investors, but at the end they end up using up the money for their own selfish interests.
Exactly, scammers can do everything possible to scam people, they do all that to make people to believe that everything is okay with the project and they can even work or be active for some years to do business with customers with a legal and legit ways but when they have accumulated enough amount which have been looking for them they would start the maintenance of the site and from the maintenance of the site everything would went off and your funds would get lost.

And really this guys have different strategies to scam people though what the op said is good but whenever investing in altcoins make a good research about the project before investing.

This is very sad because developers who have the intention to scam investors can have a long term plan to gain trust and when they've reached their expected target they'll just crash everything, while their investors will bear the lose. So it's true that scammers can also follow the due process like genuine developers and fulfill all the KYC protocols, in the end their true intentions will still manifest.

This is by no means underscoring the OP well articulated warning signs that we should look out for when checking if an altcoin is a scam, they greatly help to reduce the chances of involving our hard earned money in scam projects. He has provided us with enough guidelines to carry out research on new projects, so it's left for everybody to decide whether to apply them or use other methods to carry out their research.
1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin have behaved like a fine wine 🍷 on: January 02, 2024, 02:34:58 PM
Bitcoin is really a fine wine,🍷 because it gets better with age, since it creation, it has progress significantly into an asset that is worth having,  from the days when it's value was not even up to $100 to now that it's over $42000 plus, I just believe that after this next halving it will gets even better, and now is the best time to DCA into Bitcoin, because the reward will be worthy of the wait.

Right now, it's just a 14 years old teenager still trying to find it feet in terms of adoption all over the world.
But am really confidence that it will get even better from it value, popularity and adoption because it's a fine wine 🍷 that gets better with age.

It's true that we can liken Bitcoin to fine wine that gets better as time passes, because it has continued to proof it's worth from the time of it's creation, it's value has continued to increase till today. I remember when it came on board as the first digital currency, people were very skeptical about it, many thought that it was a Ponzi scheme or a scam and after sometime it'll vanish with it's investors hard earned money. Today Bitcoin has proven critics wrong, many of them have turned believers and started it's investment, better late than never because they've seen that it's acceptance, adoption and profitability keeps increasing, and they can predict that it will keep getting better as time goes by. Bitcoin investment also gets better and sweeter if kept for a longer time.
1416  Economy / Economics / Re: First time? A company suing because people aren't buying its products!!! on: January 02, 2024, 01:24:25 PM
I just read this news and I can't stop laughing.
McDonald's is said to be planning to sue people who have been refusing to buy its products over the past months leading to their $1.3 million loss. This is due to a boycott movement where people in a lot of countries are sanctioning this company because of its support of the Zionist regime that is occupying Palestine and is committing genocide there.
It is ridiculous because they can actually focus and dedicate the funds that they will use to pursue a court case on rebranded marketing, and other things like giving back to the community, so that they can improve their status and have a good score with community members who already frown at them for supporting the zionist movements.

The situation the company has put themselves should be a lesson to other established brands and company to be careful before showing support or taking sides with any movement or cause. Sometimes as a company or brand, keep your opinions to yourself, neutrality will safe you from some loses that can be made by picking sides.

If MacDonald, actually came out openly to take sides in a war, then that is a very bad business decision, inasmuch as their products is not specifically made for the country that they're supporting, then they should accept whatever consequences that their actions bring. A multinational foodchain company that has branches in every parts of the world and expect people of different believes and preferences to patronize them should not involve in politics, not to talk of taking sides in a war. With all due respect to the owner and management of MacDonald, I think that suing anybody or organization because people don't patronize them can be the dumbest decision that they'll make in this case.
1417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: January 02, 2024, 12:11:12 PM
Loneliness can make people to become addicted to anything that will distract their minds from the cause of their being lonely, there's a whole lot of addictions, alcohol and smoking, pornography, drug, womanizing and a whole lot including gambling. They'll initially engage in this acts as a temporary measure to get over their lose, and as time goes on they'll unintentionally become fully involved and eventually addiction will kick in, and it'll be difficult for them to leave it. Even if they finally overcome the addiction it's likely that they'll find another recreation to engage in to overcome the void that the addiction that they left will cause, in the end it'll be going into another addiction to get over an addiction. So it's best for anyone that is going through loneliness to be strong and disciplined, even if they most engage in gambling or any other activities to get over the pains of loneliness, they most tell themselves that it is temporary and bounce back as soon as possible.
1418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 02, 2024, 10:41:58 AM
You want about 8 times the amount in about 12 months and without risk or loss of part of the amount. Getting such a guaranteed investment is too good to be true, so beware of anyone who may offer you an investment opportunity like this.
If you invest in Bitcoin, it will be possible to get X3 or X4 profits during the next 18 months, but more than that is a little difficult.

It's possible for him to hit a profit of 8x or 10x with altcoins investment, but let him also understand that it comes with a high risk because chances are that he can lose his capital in the process. So the best bet for him now is Bitcoin, lucky for him we're in the build up to bull run ATH,, so it's price will keep pumping even beyond his target of 12 months. And like you predicted he can expect a minimum of 3x guaranteed ROI with peace of mind, because Bitcoin is the most reputable and reliable cryptocurrency.
1419  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People wake up now on: January 02, 2024, 09:01:29 AM
Yes people wake up now and that's why people Will stop obey goverment and Banks but Will go full in crypto.
Full stablecoins and crypto no taxes no slavery only freedom now

It's true that cryptocurrency and stablecoins offers us preferable options for our money, because of the the freedom and privacy that they provides us the holders, although that should not be a reason to discredit the importance of government and banks. The two institutions have been existing before cryptocurrency came on board, and they don't in any way disrupt the activities and usage of cryptocurrencies, so government and banks don't need to stop functioning for cryptocurrency to become more relevant and increase in adoption. Cryptocurrency gives it's holders alternative choice to use for payments and as investment and trading for profit purposes. Also don't forget the risks that's associated with cryptocurrency, it's volatilities and many scams, so we can't blame anyone that doesn't join the crypto bandwagon.
1420  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tax on projects a scam habit? on: January 02, 2024, 07:36:52 AM
This altcoin tax system is very simple; it's for those legit altcoins that are actually doing it for a good reason and not to scam people with their token.

There are many reasons and purposes for those tasks, which are to reduce the circulating supply, reward holders, and donate to charity. At least that's what most of them do.

However, sale tax is like a scam already. Because firstly projects with their marketing, make their users think buying NFT, playing games will bring a lot of profit. At the end, most of promised profit will be charged through sale tax and the project team take it. What they do with those sale tax income, users can not control.

Calling tax as the name of whatever it is that they charge  is suspicious to me, they could give it another name or just call it changes, because I believe that taxes goes to the governments. So if the developers of these projects call whatever they charge as tax, then they're obligated to remit it to the government, if not, then it's a scam, because you can't tax investors and withhold the taxes that they pay, it is criminality. It doesn't matter how legit an altcoin is, collecting charges from investors shouldn't be called taxes, let them find another name for it.
