1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 18, 2023, 04:58:56 AM
I ensure I'm on the right path when it comes to gambling because there's alot more to learn about the system, we ought to give the credits desired from gambling. Utilized atleast 7% from my earnings on Shuffle campaigns which I steadily place accurate predictions on the games fixtures. I often prefer using fiat currency to gamble because using using crypto is extensively for another purpose which is for investing in crypto projects and trading. My favorite game of all time is football and will always remain the main centre of concentration from me. I have no idea on casino because I'm not acquainted with the system and does not have idea how it operates. Everyone can boosts of been a responsible gambler but they ignorantly know they're not, for me, I'm not in good position to say that because I'm often carried away by the hugh figures generated from gambling and triggered me to place more wagers.

I believe there is no right path to gambling because it's a game of chances like there are probability that you may or may not succeed. The only right path to gambling is to be a responsible gambler like don't focus all your energy in it as it might cause some damages to you if it doesn't go the way as planned.

Saying you are carried away by the huge figures is not enough reason to focus all your energy as it might really affect your mental health in a course of conspicuous loses.
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: October 18, 2023, 04:36:43 AM
The world is filled with boundless opportunities that can make anyone live a comfortable life. One problem is to identify these opportunities because they usually don't look viable. People have failed to identify opportunities because they are expecting these opportunities to look like opportunities. They next level is to utilize these opportunities.

Of course the world is open to many ideas that can help us be okay in life, in as much as life is concern there is no limit to greatness if the right approach is being applied towards achieving a goal
Procrastination and excuses are always the main impediments to utilizing opportunities. Most people complain about the government, lack of finance, and others thereby missing out on an opportunity.

Over time, negativity has also been a force that has hindered our success before often time we only look at the difficulties that surrounds a task rather the possibility of scaling it through and putting blames on our government can never change anything because the government will not cook meals and bring it to your domain. It is important for us to discard this impression of always channeling blames to our government as the government roles in our lives are limited so it should be noted that everyone will be accountable of whatever that happens in their lives.
Learning a new skill can be a good means of gaining additional income. One can learn a highly needed skill which can lead to a change of job or a side job. These side jobs can complement your normal income and make you financially stable. Wasting money on pleasure or unnecessary activities will lead to financial problems. It will be better to invest the money in other profitable ventures. The world is going through a lot of economic problems there is a need to spend less and invest more.

Some person needs money to establish a skill they learnt so in a scenario whereby they do not have the finance to propagate their skills it becomes a problem so one can still be involved in menial jobs to raise fund in other to establish one's skills.
But we should also note that it is not everybody that will be rich. Some people derive fulfillment from a low paying job and they are okay. They are not so much concerned about acquiring so much wealth but they just want to provide their basic needs and enjoy their jobs. Sometimes your passion might not necessarily lead to money-making, it could just be a source of fun, joy, and fulfillment. It might not also be out of place to monetize your skill but the focus should not always be to make money but to impact people's lives positively and derive fulfillment.

I don't believe that everyone can't be rich, we all can make it in life if we apply the basic techniques in any field of our specialization even if we ain't earning much but let it be that your earnings are always coming then you can save and invest part of your income for future purposes.

1404  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Nigerian street pranks and its effect. on: October 17, 2023, 02:43:30 AM
It is very sad how our society is gradually turning into a lawless society. Everyone behaves the way they like in this country, peoples privacy are being intruded and all we do is laugh and call it fun. For crying out loud everyone is entitled to their privacy as you can't just bump into someone's life without their knowledge or approval.

Well, I put the blame on our government because had it been they create an enabling ground for her citizen, some ridiculous acts would have stopped. One major problem that this country has is that nobody wants to create anything on their own again, they prefer following trends anything that is trending thats where everyone focus their energy with the beliefs that what is working for others can as well work for them thereby doing everything possible to gain attention and recognition from people.

Our society has become so porous that what one person is doing that is what others will also want to do without generating new ideas that will profer solution to people's problems.
1405  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No Electricity, No Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 02:21:16 AM
With the poor state of electricity supply in our country and the high inflation of the economy, increase in PMS (fuel ) price,it has become very difficult to use generator, power bank another issue of its own even solar has also become more expensive for people to buy  or even pay in instalment.

Livelihood is becoming more difficult by the day,no money to have your proper and adequate meal,no good job to maintain your standard of living and meet  your needs.

I got introduced to Bitcoin and I have been trying to do my activities, but the condition of poor electricity supply Will  not permit me to easily do my Bitcoin activities in the forum .
How do I find a way out of this epileptic power supply of the country, so that I can be consistent in the forum  performing  my activities .What do i do ? I seriously need your contributions and advice.

Electricity has been one of the major problems that has hindered our economic growth in this country as due to poor or no electricity, many businesses has suffered setback more especially now that the petrol pump price has been increased thereby making it difficult for business owners that have generator.

It is very funny to see how a country that has not experienced a stable power system will be supplying electricity to other countries like Ghana in compromise of her own country.

However, there is always a way out of every challenge because as a result of negligence from our government in some vital sectors, it is advisable for one to take responsibility of one's needs in other to succeed.

In as much as poor electricity  has been a lingering challenge over the years I think every individual needs to look for other ways of making sure that there business doesn't go backwards as a result of the fact that we don't have a stable power supply as in the aspect of how to charge your devices to continue your interaction in this community, I believe you can sort help to power your devices from a neighbor or business owners that uses generator to charge your devices
1406  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if the internet permanently shuts down on: October 17, 2023, 01:31:34 AM
The Internet shutting down is just like the whole world shutting down so I don't think there is something so intense that can cause the Internet to shut down permanently that's the reasons why sites undergoes maintenance in other to update the site, review it and make necessary changes if any.

The Internet over the years, have made the world a global village as people communicate with one another all over the world so shutting down the Internet is like blindfolding the whole world as the world requires the Internet to get vital information that will help and solve world problems so I don't think there will be any occurrence that will lead to the Internet being shutdown permanently
1407  Economy / Reputation / Re: Announce your rank up, merit or any achievements that makes you feel great! on: October 16, 2023, 02:51:24 AM
Though I know that I still have a long way to go but am still grateful with the kinda experience I've gotten so far since I joined this bitcoin community since July, I feel that sometimes the reason why we don't experience much progress on our account is because some of us focus our energy more on the local board rather than the general board.

So far so good, I'm a member now hoping to grow up my account as soon as possible. It has really been so interesting sharing thoughts and ideas with some senior colleagues here and i commend those of us who have been working with so much positive energy to see that this community moves to greater heights.

I'm so happy to be among this community of high intellectual individuals working together in same space to share their knowledge with one another, I most say I'm impressed
1408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 15, 2023, 10:42:11 PM

@Jay you have really impacted a lot of knowledge on me which has been helping me on my Bitcoin journey I could remember when I came here with a less knowledge about strategies of accumulation using DCA, with this tread I was able understand and add the knowledge I have gathered from here to my existing ones which has been very helpful.

Referring back to your comments, of course is very unwise to uses the money that's meant for other expenses to invest because he is likely going to get into trouble later on because when the need will arise he will be left with no option but to sell off the investment. Perhaps this could be referred as an ignorant investor whom sees a possibility of getting into trouble if taking a certain decision but still went ahead.

The idea of the DCA is very vital to every bitcoin traders as they can easily have full access to their money. Like for instance if an investor makes $2000 then he now invest like like $1200 to purchase bitcoin at the end of day he's still gonna have some amount of money left with him to sort out other needs that he might require so that it will not affect the amount they invested to purchase bitcoins

1411  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Shortcuts on: October 14, 2023, 04:33:59 PM

Maybe we should get this right once and for all, looking for a shortcut is just as finding an easier way to make things done faster for our own benefits, this shouldn't be pictured from the perspective of doing manipulations or cheat over the normal procedure or laid down protocols of doing something, it is just that people have taken this for granted and also try to abuse the whole thing for their own selfish goals, we should know that performing a task requires time.

But we can use a single stome in hunting down two birds at the same time, which is what going through a shortcut should mean or sound to our hears and not that we should engage doing things from our own discretion and personal interest without considering others or the risk involved.

Yes you are right to some extent as their are also easier ways to meet up life obligations without being involved in wrong ideas. Like the use of machines to make works easier rather than bear hands. Then also using the computer or keyboard instead of writing with a pen and paper. In a nutshell, I am not referring to easier way to make it legally am emphasizing on illegal shortcuts like the ones I mentioned on my threads. So far as there ways of ways of making things easier in a genuine way it's welcomed.
1412  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Shortcuts on: October 14, 2023, 06:24:45 AM
In as much as life is concerned, there is no shortcut to success or greatness before you succeed in life you must pass due processes and hard work as nothing good comes on a platter of gold.

It is unfortunate how some persons choose things that are less complex or cheap without knowing the repercussion of choosing a shortcut.

Many a time alot of people choose the easier way to make money through frauds, illegal activities, rituals and so on. It is important for us to know and understand that there are consequences that are attached to making money through shortcut just like I've mentioned above, now let's look at the likely penalties.
1. Frauds: over the years a lot of people have been defrauded one way or the other and I begin to question the conscience of these fraudsters like do they really think that the people they deceive in other to take their property or money will be happy when they find out that they have been defrauded?. The answer is no, like no body will be happy if they find out that a business someone negotiated with them is fraudulent as some persons might even choose to go diabolical with them and some will channel their grievance to God while others might to use the law and bring them to book. It is really going to tarnish your image, and the reputation of your family as people will tag you and your family as fraudsters.
2. Rituals; it is unfortunate that humans heart have been soiled with so much evil to the extent of taking lives that they didn't create. God made man in his own image after his likeness, so it is important for us to know that God cherish human so much that's why creating human took him more time than other creatures so taken a life that you didn't create is an unforgivable sin before God and humanity. Some of this people that performs rituals in other to make money doesn't have rest of mind as either the diety they make sacrifices to or the victim's ghost keep hunting them from time to time and they may not even enjoy the wealth to the fullest before they die.
3; illegal activities; illegal activities like stealing, kidnappings and other social vices can lead to death when caught either by the mob that caught you taking laws into their hands or by the security agencies. It is advisable for people to stay away from these social vices as it can lead to ending ones life earlier than God assigned for them. No matter the circumstances or situation, do not allow yourself to be involved in criminal activities instead struggle just as others are struggling for a better tomorrow.

In conclusion, it is important we understand that nothing good comes easily, even Rome the greatest city wasn't built in a day as it takes time to achieve positive results. So let's learn to be patient and get involved in legal things that others are doing to make ends meet and also do those things just like this platform have aided a lot of our youths that would have been involved in social crimes but due to the introduction of this forum it has helped most of our youths grow one way or the other and it has also helped in poverty eradication among our youths
1413  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Should illegal stealing of crude oil be discarded? on: October 13, 2023, 08:23:26 AM
Why should we allow them to continue vandalizing our country’s natural resources?
Is it not a crime, and it is also very risky; if the government allow them to keep vandalizing our natural resources then the country’s economy will be affected just as it has affected it already and people will be losing their lives through such act and if the death rate increases the community will blame the government for not taking proper measures.

Quote
You see you also fail to understand that most government top officials are also into this oil bunkery business and they have been doing it for a long time but nothing has been done to them as they feel they're above the law so if not for the hazards that this local refining of crudes pose to the environment, don't you know that since the government doesn't want to make things easy for the common man irrespective of the God given natural resources we have, the best thing would have just been to also do those illegal things they do to enrich themselves as well or is their anyone that doesn't deserve to be wealthy? When the foundation is faulty what do you expect the righteous ones to do?

illegal stealing of crude oil should never be allowed because it could bring a danger or environmental hazard to the people, I could remember vividly when the illegal refining was serious at the environment I domiciled people were always sick of malaria because of the black suits caused by the illegal refining of crude and those days we hardly spray a white clothes outside without being painted by black suits but perhaps I view illegal refining of crude as good and bad, the good part of it is that it reduces the rate of terrorism were as most terrorists people channels there attention to crude refining, also illegal refining of crude is bad because of the threat it posses on our environment also with there local knowledge and lack of refining equipments it could seriously affect the refining process were as crude will fail to undergo a due process of refining which could results the crude not properly separated as such posses a great danger if being used.

When you talk about the hazards illegal refining of crudes brings, what about the legal way of refining crudes? Isn't it also hazardous to the people and the environment? Do you know how it has affected the sight of people within the area of production? What about our zincs? Our zinc rust earlier than expected, what of our Ozone layers that has melted to the extent that we now feel much heat now than before. In as much as refining of crudes is concerned, be it legal or illegal it still poses hazards to our people and environment so one should not be sentimental when making judgment.

There is no any reason that is going to justify any illegal activity, what is a crime will remain a crime, the government is not stupid, they know what they are doing, they understand the process better than a layman who prefer to sabotage government resources for their own gain. Why go ahead to steal from the government when you know that it is even risky to even take your life, there are army and trained personnel that are authorized to shoot and kill any oil bunker that is found stealing the crude oil.

Quote

Who are the government? Aren't they you and I? Are they not also involved in this act over the years? Please let's call a spade a spade, in the quest to make things right, I don't think any stone should be left unturned. You see most of the crimes that our youths get involved in are being sponsored and championed my our so called leaders and government because they feel since they are in power nothing would be done to them so if they want to bring things that are illegal in this country to a hault, then they should also make sure that they are innocent of the crimes.

The truth is that the bulk of the stealing of crude is done by the people in government in connection with the security forces.  The petty theives they are chasing in the creeks of Niger Delta rarely steal 10% of the overall stolen crude. Now seeing that the people who are supposed to protect the country's treasure are those stealing it, makes the situation helpless.
In summary, nothing can be done about stolen crude unless we have a real change of government.

Thank you, you really what happening in our government. You can't remove something from someone's eyes when their is also something in your own eyes so the better the also removed their hands from illegal activities, then the better for us all as charity begins at home. You can't stop others from doing what you does.

The money nigeria gained from selling of crude oil per annual it can be use to make sure that they have eliminate the rate of unemployment in nigeria but they are using it for their selfish interests which is not good, so many Illegal refineries operators is being built and managed by graduates because of unemployment rate in nigeria, so many tricycles riders is graduates because their is no provision of employment.

Of a truth the country makes a lot of money in crudes, it's just unfortunate that some few person have hijacked these funds to their personal and selfish interest. Imagine a white man I worked with in my area told me that an hour production can feed the whole of my clan and we are about 17 populated communities in my clan, this is just in an hour o. Now think of a day production that is one hour production and see how much they're making from crudes. Although even if everyone is not employed but at least a large number of our citizens would be employed even if they are not employed they even plays individuals on monthly stipends it's still not going to shake them at all.
1414  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Battle of why we dey earn but no progress on: October 12, 2023, 10:01:52 PM
[quote author=Sim_card link=topic=5467611.msg62951263#msg62951263
Oyibo don make everything easy for their citizens by structuring their country so that no matter the population wey them get, government go fit still dey capable to take care of majority of her citizens. For here out government fail to plan for their citizens, buy instead them dey after themselves alone, which make things dey hard because and no jobs wey go fit make people to fit depend on themselves. Secondly, na we be the problem to ourselves, because if you know say your family background dey poor and everyone dey rely on you, you go know the kind of life to live with the economy situation. Wetin I mean be say know the kind friends wey you dey keep, make e no be the friends wey dey like flex all the time, if not them go make you dey spend too much. Then when it comes to your family, attend to the important problem and leave the rest because, even though you be billionaire, you no go fit solve all your family problem finish as more problems to dey come.
[/quote]

Yes you're right, not only our government but some of our parents follow for people wey dey this category of earning without progress. For oyibo land, when I child graduate from school, their parents either open business or company for them to manage and fetch money for themselves but here in our country, most especially all these our big men will not allow their children to do anything at all they will provide everything their children require without teaching them how to make money as well that's why when most of this big men dies, their business crumble because their children has no idea of how to manage their businesses, some of the children might even sell of their parents properties because they don't know the worth and value before you know it they start suffering during the long run.

Another factor is hoarding knowledge, this one our people are very good at hiding their knowledge from others instead spreading their knowledge across they hide it and when they die, they die with their knowledge without transferring it to another person.
1415  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Measures to protect ourselves, family and properties this Ember period on: October 12, 2023, 09:26:00 PM
It baffles me how people just scrap out some months of the year as more important month than the others. Until we change our narrative towards this so called months of trying to meet up target that will eventually lead to danger or loss of lives and properties, the better for us.

Over the years, not only in our country but all over most countries they take ember months so serious to the extent that if you are not making efforts to meet up Christmas stuffs like others it will look as if you're the most lazy or unserious person in life. You see people running helter scatter just to meet up during this period. Some people even call it ,,,"rush hour" tell me what makes it a rush hour that people try every means to meet up, people drive carelessly and recklessly.

It's about time we stopped this assertion of Christ being born on Christmas day after all Christ never celebrated his birthday while on earth. So there is absolutely nothing too special about ember months it's just the way people take this months so serious that makes it look as if there's something too special about those months. The most funny part is that after the so called ember months, as soon as we enter new year everywhere becomes calm again, hardship and suffering start again because people have larvish their money during the periods of ember months. It's about time we stopped this act and take every month as equal with others and spend money judiciously.

I bet it that the fact of this wonderful Bitcointalk discuss
It is believed that some of us in this platform ad a Bitcointalk, when we get rewarded on 1 way or the other, na other crypto BTC traders dey help us control our crypto wallets even til date reason because we never learn BTC crypto trading yet but we found ourselves here and na so too the coins (BTC) dey take spread as e don dey profit even people way no get the idea to take it's control this na why we need a learning trading threads so as to also fit fund our wallets with our capitals without just waiting to get rewards from this forum before we can get a stake to Invest on in our various crypto BTC wallets.

That's exactly what am saying that the beginners need to be conversant with some trading methods because most of the beginners here don't even have and idea of what bit coin is and most of them are being told what to do and what not to do by people that refer them to this forum, they have no idea of how things work here they just follow instructions of the person that registered them on this platform and they are instructed to just keep posting or make topics.

For me if someone is on this platform and finding some things strange to understand you will see that the person might start loosing interest because they might feel that maybe the person that registered them here are using them to favor themselves in one way or the other and some people here does that they open accounts for people and be using their accounts to their own selfish interest but if one becomes accustomed to how everything works here there won't be any doubt on how the account is being runned

You don tok am finish nah and we no need to get reasons or opinion about it for we to get a local board moderator wey actually from Naija. If you look around we have any qualified candidacies for the role so it's not a matter of lacking qualified individuals or there are no willing persons for the role. Having a local moderator will add more to the sense of belonging we dey enjoy for the forum and bcos as nah person wey dey closer and understand the Naija pidgin language beta e go dey easy for the moderator to identify between posts that is worth having a space in the LB or not. So issue of us having a LB moderator is not a matta of opinion but a necessity.

Yeah we have matured individuals who have been in the business of crypto, block chain and bit coin for a long time now and we have got some legends that can become moderator due to their high level of wisdom and intellectual capacity is this forum, so I hereby second the motion as this development will bring positive energy to our co cypto enthusiast.

This will also bring us closer to each other and be able to also relate our opinion and challenges among one another. it's also gonna boast our moral knowing fully well that our moderator is our fellow compatriot

Richbased welcome but me I no free with this your prayer for cryptopreneurBrainboss reason being that,  instead make we say him reward dey heaven,  e better make the reward come for this world ooo,  because for heaven no body go need blessing so make all the blessing come tocryptopreneurBrainboss for this world make him enjoy the wealth in maximum, in fact make him enjoy the blessing for the world until he exust all the blessings and rewards allocated to home for this world before he enter heaven.

Nothin like your reward dey for heaven, make we pray for rewards for this earth because na for this world we dey plant any seed were we think go give us rewards.

Lol, yes o you are right my country man but make you know say no reward wey pass the one wey from baba God o, even if you gather the whole wealth for Earth we go still leave am go one day so wetin matter or what you be remembered for is how many life you have touched positively within your existence on earth. So no reward supperceeds that of God so I still stand on existing protocol to say that Crytopreneur brainboss your reward dey for heaven o Lol

I keep telling people that until we get so angry and decide to shutdown the country and reset it, nothing will change. The army will not carry out coup because their leaders are just politicians in military uniform. The only hope is in the streets... the day the street will be tired, then we can shutdown and start the rebuilding process.

To me o, taking laws into our hands at this point is very risky remember how our youths were brutally mothered in cold blood during the END SARS protest, I don't agree that the freedom of this country is worth the blood of our innocent and hard working youths as our government has sideline the service of our youths in governance for so long now, youths are not appointed in most public offices across the country instead they prefer old men and old cabal with no or dead brains to handle the affairs of the country.

Shutting down the country can lead to more economic crisis and stagnate our country and our youths will still be the ones to suffer, so for me let's encourage our youths to be more involved in contesting for public offices during elections and there is need to sensitive our youths on the need to contest during elections as this is the only way we can hijack the government and make it better for all

My country people! Really time wait for nobody. Many of us here get skills but Lack the courage to work towards am.
OP I like the topic but I think I will disagree with you on this, when you said the skill but lack courage to work on it, if I may ask what kind of skills are you referring to?, is it self employ skills or industrial skills? If is self employ skills how can you put your skill to work when you are financially unstable because there are people whom the kind of skills they acquire can take up to a millions plus to set up the workshop so how do you expect someone who could barely have three square meal a day to get up to a million naira plus to start up a workshop and also when we talk about industrial skills we are Reffering to the skills that can only be put to work or practice in an industrial or construction company and we no how difficult it is on getting a job from oil companies and even if there is job advert that includes your skill they will  need five years of working experience so how could someone applied when they don't have such years of experience, so there are people who has different skills but we're not giving the opportunity to showcase there talent so can we blame such person for not trying?.

You are very correct, just like me I studied surveying and most of the instruments used for survey jobs are very costly like theodolite, total station, Gps and lots more so it requires huge amount of money before you can buy this equipments so the best thing is just that people should be involved in lots of skill so that if your major skill doesn't assist you, others skills can help you at least to a direction that can make you get money to purchase instruments that would be requid to start developing your skills or set up your workshop.
