1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: May 02, 2022, 01:26:20 PM
I think the reason is that the Total Supply Coin Polygon Network (MATIC) is rather big compared to similar chains like Binance and Ethereum, Binance has a big Total Supply but it burns tokens periodically and this causes the number of tokens to decrease and the demand and price increase, I think Polygon should do The same thing, because with Total Supply 10 billion tokens, it is unlikely that we will see the price at $20 because in this case we will get a huge market value of the token that does not match the market situation.
But, we didn't say that matic will have the same value as bnb and eth. We still set a realistic amount here for this coin and what about other junk coins that have a massive supply? If they can be able to jump high then why not this one, matic, when in fact this coin is much more useful and popular than them?

It's possible in my own opinion. Binance coin has burning capabilities but I think other coins have this feature too and if not then I think they can always add it or they can also do a manual burning. There are still lots of ways to up the price of the coin but I don't know why the people behind this coin haven't made that move yet.
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When and how did you discover Bitcoin? on: May 01, 2022, 09:59:56 PM
For myself, I created the word Bitcoin in December 2006. There after I wrote the Bitcoin White Paper and then created the Bitcoin@bitcoin Twitter Account in April 2007. Then I created my P2P Foundation Account in my Japanese Psedonym in April 2007. After that I published the Bitcoin E-cash paper in P2P Foundation and SourceForge before I published the Bitcoin in IRC channel under my other Psedonym Gavin Andreesen. Which later Gavin Bell has adopted as his Names in the Bitcoin Forum. Actually, I gave the Name Gavin Andreen to Gavin Bell.
Unfortunately there will be plenty of people who came in a little too late which is why there will be pleenty of people who claim they are saothsi like this. The reality is that anyone who claims they are satoshi, needs nothing too big to prove it. Just sign a message from satoshis' address and you are done, it is literally a 1 minute job and nothing more.

Anyone who doesn't do that? Not satoshi in my mind. You could maybe trolling, or you could be serious about this, whatever you want to call it, but I am 100% guaranteed to not believe anyone who doesn't sign a message from satoshi himself, it needs to be done in order to convince me.
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's the year 2018 over again on: May 01, 2022, 09:45:35 PM
It seems we are already in a bear market but how far can this go? A year or two just like 2018-2019? Or this is a short term bear market? MMCrypto on youtube said that 30,000$ BTC is possible, if this do happens altcoins will bleed more than ever and this will unlock the beginning of the downfall of many altcoins.
30k for crypto is truly possible and in fact we already went on that level last time I think that was in February if I am not mistaken but in the beginning of march, the price then slowly recovers. I am not sure if we are now in a bear market because like I said earlier the price has done some recoveries already.

This cannot be a bear that we are experiencing right now but maybe this was just a normal price decline. It's hard to know if how far can this go but I hope it won't last a year or so because that was a long wait. That's boring. Bitcoin was down a little but I think altcoins are still performing better. I think the only way for the alts to go down more is when btc dips below 30k.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: Im ready to adond all banks and my friends also dont need banks anymore on: May 01, 2022, 09:09:16 PM
The question is whether everything we can pay with cryptocurrencies? I'm sure it is difficult to do all transactions with cryptocurrencies, especially in my country it is still difficult to find Bitcoin ATM and this is what makes the role of Banks still very important.
Depends if your country legalizes cryptocurrencies as a legal tender. That is the only way that you can use your crypto directly on anything but if your country hasn't done that yet then yes you will have a hard time using your cryptos since there's only less stores that accept it for now although there are more stores online that accepts crypto payments.

You can try them if you prefer cryptos more than the traditional fiat but why you need a btc atm anyway? I thought you want to use your crypto directly but I think btc ATM works like trading your btc to fiat. If you want to buy a btc, you can still easily do that even without the help of btc ATMs.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia to ban Pokies on: May 01, 2022, 08:34:58 PM
They used the harsh word
Quote
abolish
they really hated these gambling machines that they did not offer an alternative to users of these machines, those machines were set up because it was approved by the government committee they should consider the companies and the cost of setting them and the workers that are maintaining them, they just push people to play online away from their jurisdiction.
They are classy because of that "green" word but at the same time rude because of that "abolish" word. When they say abolish I think that means to destroy all gambling machines that they see which is not fair because what if that machines are legal and have permits, most especially they are only placed in the appropriate areas like inside the casinos.

The ones that they should remove are those machines that are wrongly placed because people on all ages are going to get curious to try it and when they become addicted, that's going to be a big problem. Those who placed those machines are the ones that should be blamed other than the irresponsible gambler.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 01, 2022, 08:04:18 PM
Milan getting the win is certainly a great deal of comfort for them. I mean they were already in risky waters and that means they really needed the win to keep going for the title chances. Inter losing points really helped them last week and with this win they guaranteed the top spot for a while longer.

I do not know if they will be champions but if they are, then it will not be just the success of Milan but also failure of Inter to bring it home on the last stretches. They had a bad break of losing and drawing for a while I guess about a month ago or so, and then they had last week as well, all because of them. Cool if Inter wins the cup, at least that would be consolation prize.
1407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Every 4 Year on: May 01, 2022, 06:38:21 PM
The 4 -year trend has occurred twice and makes many predictions that in 2022 will repeat the same trend, but I see the positive side of 2022, which is the increasing number of countries and companies that actively legalize bitcoin so that it makes me optimistic that the 4 -year trend will not be repeated in In 2022, it is better to focus on big profits with buy and hold.
It only occurred twice because bitcoin only started at around 2009 to 2010 but if it started earlier than that then maybe we can see more 4 year trend's but no worries because we can always see more in the future if that is what you like but who wouldn't be? When it's about increase in the price.

We know to ourselves that we want to earn bigger profits and that can only be achieved when the market is in a good condition (bullish). I am not sure if it can repeat on 2022 because I think the last 4 year trend have only happened last year. The next one is probably going to occur on the year 2025. It's going to be a long wait but it's worth it.
1408  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentinian Government Ready to Take Advantage of Crypto Holder on: May 01, 2022, 03:12:39 PM
Well, there are two things wrong with your post...

1. Tax evasion is not the main aim for most people, when they use Crypto currencies. A lot of them just want to have faster and cheaper transactions ...and some financial privacy. (They do not want some government official snooping on their financial transactions)

2. Having a central database of all "Bitcoin holders" in their country, will not solve their tax evasion problems. There will still be a lot of people (criminals) that will use direct payments not registered on this centralized database to evade taxes.  Roll Eyes
That’s right, a lot of people always think negatively when cryptocurrency is mentioned. But, that is not the truth about this, a lot of people have different reasons and of course there are good reasons why they are making use of cryptocurrency. Not everyone who is making use of cryptocurrency has a bad intention.

When I started making use of crypto currency it was just for me to be able to receive payments from companies that I work for who were abroad. And it made things a lot easier for us as payment was made the same day and also received same day, instead of having to make use of banks that would take days before the payment arrives.

And other payment methods weren’t even an option in my country then, so not everyone who decided to use Bitcoin had any bad intention for doing so. And some of us who are making use of it are for investment as well.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 30, 2022, 09:37:47 PM
The main focus of Real Madrid is going to be the second leg of the Champions League. They need to prepare their best team for that match because they are already trailing by one goal and it will be quite hard against a team like Manchester City to overcome that one-goal deficit. To be honest I think Manchester City is going to play aggressively again because they know that Real Madrid has a certain weakness in defense and Manchester City is surely going to exploit that.
That's their power and advantage right now. Along with the fact that they are the team that won the UCL title more than anyone else, they are also leading la liga so much that they do not have to worry about a few losses, they could lose one or two games and just play very young players and they would be fine, nobody would suspect a thing. Whereas if City does the same, then they are followed by Liverpool by just one points and that means they could lose both UCL and EPL at the same time within span of one week. Real will have a big advantage by resting some of their players, I mean I hope they do, because that would be the correct thing to do.
1410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hit a new high amid price volatility on: April 30, 2022, 08:55:41 PM
There is always sort of campaigns against Bitcoin. That is how media works, they are controlled by the big companies or governments and they just want to stop the dream of a decentralized system. But it does not mean there is no useful information from an article. Bitcoin definitely reshapes a variety of aspects of our life. However, to me, bitcoin acts like a symbol of the illusion of decentralized and grediness. How many people really understand the core technology of bitcoin? Do they really want to be free from authority? By the time they believe they are centralized, they will always be centralized, no matter which world they dedicate themselves to.

And, you are right. There are many industries that need more concern. AI, green energy, electric car, neuropsychology... So I would rather choose sustainability over bitcoin. Knowledge and experience are sustainable. They will never get lost.
I would guess that it is not just about being against bitcoin but more about whatever agenda they have at that moment. I mean if the owner of the media company invests heavily on bitcoin then they would love it, if he doesn't and hates it then they would hate it too. Which means that there is nothing inherently against bitcoin in the media, it is all about what the owner thinks and does.

This means that they would only be spending their time on saying things that would help the owner. Obviously not too many media owners end up having bitcoin but it is not none neither, there are a few channels which are pro crypto and youtubers are mainly pro-crypto as well which helps.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: April 30, 2022, 03:56:52 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad
Ouch it sucks that you save it up for a long time and it gone instantly because of gambling but there is nothing to be blame here I guess but yourself alone because you lose your control and got tempted to bet more. 3 dollars a bet is already high but how much more if 98 dollars a bet? Dang but is the strategy you're using is martingale? Because how did you end up that high? Martingale doubles our base bet once we lose and it can grow higher as long as we haven't hit our target multiplier yet.

It was dice game that you play? And you need to roll above 20 which means the win chance is 80%. Indeed that was high but shit happens you know. I even got a lot of loss streaks on a 98% chance and sometimes it's consecutive, imagine that?
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to grow my wallet? on: April 30, 2022, 12:09:06 PM
In this case, I think it is best to sell.Because after waiting for a long time, if you get enough profit from something, if after waiting for a long time, if you get enough profit from something, then it must be sold.I have seen a lot of seat coins after a long time the price goes up a lot and after staying for a while it goes back to the previous position.
Which is a good reason why he should sell the coins rather than continue waiting. I have seen coins that would go up in value and after some time they would crash and never go back up again even after years, and this would make you regret not taking the right action at the time when you’re meant to take that action.

So, the best at this time is to sell the coin and make your profit, and after you have sold you can then wait for when the price would go down again and you can invest back and continue with your hold, you never know if you’re getting that opportunity to sell just this once.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: April 30, 2022, 10:55:52 AM
They don't care because they used to that already but you, you noticed it and act nervously maybe because it was your first time? Horse racing was not new and I think it was not illegal because if it is then it was stopped already long time ago. What is not right is if they injected drugs on the horse. I think that's also the number one cause on why the horses experience a heart attack and other health problems. Organizers should monitor their horses strictly and punish those offenders.

Are you aware that most of the horses go through slaughter as well? Some of them have very bad injuries making them not even the least bit useful for the business therefore they are killed without second thought. I do hope people would get more aware and try and steer away from *horse racing*.
I didn't know this but how did you know? I think they don't show this on national television but this is not right and if someone sees them, they can be reported and the gambling company will be shut down. An injured horse can still heal and become healthy, they just want to treat them right and after that they can use them again. No not to kill them.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia to ban Pokies on: April 29, 2022, 08:31:03 PM
I never thought about this and was not aware that Australia has a lot of slots machine all over their country. But the question is, how long has this been going on for Australia? And why are there no bill to curb at least the rampant growth of machines which can be equate to Australian being addicted to it? I've known one person though who is a local who travels to Australia and stay there for years. And when he comebacks, he is addicted to casino's until all of his money are gone.
If only you will see the surveys if which country gambles the most, you will see that australia is always on the top. Here is a sample. There are no bills maybe because their government are also into gambling and they encourage the people to do the same or maybe people on that country are still responsible and are not heavily addicted.

It's just many people play gambling on that country. Your friend is only unlucky that he got addicted but I think being addicted starts with us and not on the things around us. If we don't want to get addicted we must control our selves. Gambling is not bad as long as done in moderation.
1415  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter on: April 29, 2022, 07:19:22 PM
Elon is a businessman, and the reason why he purchased Twitter is to make even more profit out of it. If you compare Twitter with other social media platforms such as Facebook, you can notice that the market cap and net profits are only a tiny fraction of what is expected. Hopefully Elon will be able to monetize various avenues in Twitter and generate more profit. And who knows, he maybe able to expand the user base and make the platform even larger than it's competitors. And more importantly, he will be able to make Twitter a politically neutral platform.
I think that is because there are still many people that dont like to use twitter but if there are social media that they will use that will facebook, tiktok and youtube. There are also less ads on twitter. Elon Musk pays huge money on buying twitter so yes he will surely use the platform to generate profits so that he can recover what he spent. He can copy what other social media sites are doing like running multiple ads and adding more features like marketplaces, and others. That way, many people are going to get attracted to use twitter but making twitter free from censorship is already a big thing. This can be the time that Elon will get the sympathy of the public again.
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on: April 29, 2022, 06:40:28 PM
I don't know if OP's intention is to do an investigation to see what the trend is for players who play only with BTC and how they bet, but in terms of platforms there are many and the best ones are here in the forum, the sites and platforms are many, in fact several reviewers are dedicated to this, but what I can say is that currently the multiple varieties of platforms that exist accept BTC and some have very low withdrawal fees, others high, I would go for the known platforms for stake my BTC, which I would do very responsibly.
That's better if he will investigate first before he gamble so that the chance of being scammed will get lessen because not all users here can recommend a legit casino but there are also some that shills a scam casino. Crypto gamblers don't use btc alone but they also use altcoin. Not only that altcoins has some certain benefits but because btc is too valuable for them to gamble and lose.

Yes, we have reviewers here in bitcointalk, they review gambling sites, some of the trusted ones are gamblingbro and btcgosu. He can check that out for a more precise review. Each site are not the same, thats why some has a high fee and others have less but what's more important is that the site is trusted.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Fiat Will Always Be The Norm on: April 29, 2022, 03:41:20 PM
for now btc cannot replace fiat, even though you enter a restricted area because this is a btc forum, but fiat currency is a currency that is used by everyone, and all investors and rich people still use currency fiat money for their needs, and their business, although every year there is always inflation but fiat currency is still the main choice, but I really believe that one day btc will definitely be needed by everyone, just like people need fiat currency.
Fiat will always be there, we will be making use of it as the base currency, but Bitcoin will also be important to those of us who knows what it is worth. If you continue to hold Fiat you’re always going to be facing inflation and losing money, but when you start holding bitcoin you’re always going to be able to hedge against inflation and save value for yourself. It’s really important to have your money invested in Bitcoin, although not all your money, but at least a part of it should be invested.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New York State Assembly passes ban on new BTC mines that don't use green power on: April 29, 2022, 02:58:15 PM
The same with each and everyone of us, we had a limited understanding about Bitcoin, the blockchain, the importance of POW, and the incentive-structure that makes the network stick together. They too will start their path somewhere, learn the hard way, then understand the tradeoffs, and discover the importance and how truly ground breaking Bitcoin really is. Once they're ready to listen, we're here to educate/teach what we know and how we understand Bitcoin.
I have been expecting people to do that for a long time. It is a vitally important thing in crypto world that you keep your decentralization, if you do not have that then you might as well use fiat. Think about it, a guy comes up one day and says that "hey I created this token, want to buy a million of them for 10k dollars and give that to me? I promise you that I will use that 10k you give me on ads and make your 1 million tokens worth more!!" and that sounds silly to you, right?

Well, right now millions of people spend billions of dollars on projects that say exactly this. I would rather trust US government over some random guy, even though us government has bad track record, at least I know what to expect from them.
1419  Economy / Economics / Re: The first rule of investing is saving on: April 28, 2022, 09:43:27 PM
One could only want to start having the mindset of saving when his or her income someworth precedes his responsibilities. How do you save when your income is not even able to meet up even your basic neceasities.

Even if there's the Will to save for investment, as far as your income is nothing to write home about when measured or equated with your responsibilities then savings becomes a problem and an extra burden should one still insist on savings even under such conditions.

Not to mention, not all investments works out very well, be it short or long term investment.

So while saving (that's if you must) for the purpose of investing, one then should also be cautious of the investment plan, as to what and where to invest.
There are two options in that case, which I have not really successfully done in my life, have been trying it for the past 6 years and it has been decent but not really what I calculated. First step is to lower your costs to the bare minimum, this means if you have to live in a tiny studio room then you do, if you need to eat ramen or potato for the whole month then you do, if you smoke then quit, if you drink then you stop.

Basically live a life of absolute colourlessness and hate your life for 6 months to a year if you have to, do not even live, just "survive" and you will be cutting the costs a lot. Secondly you try to find extra work, you longer do anything fun anyway, you just go to work, come home, eat raiment and sleep, so why not take up another job instead? That would gain you some more profit. I have failed this of course, saying is easy, but doing it is very very very hard.
1420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: April 28, 2022, 08:30:34 PM
I imagine NFTS will be just a sector of the metaverse. Of course the technology will be used for digital property, trading, art, items, etc… but as we mentioned before the basis of what the metaverse will be is not built yet

We’ll have to create it and it may take years
And all of those assets can be available to be put into a bet.

That can potentially happen in the future but with what I'm seeing. The casinos are building a separate platform for these type of assets to bet for.

In which their main focus for betting is going to be with the cryptocurrencies that they have adopted and listed on their casino. But who knows if a casino will merge all of it altogether.
Nft's can have a value too so yes it's possible for them to be used in gambling or in betting. I have already seen gambling sites before that accepts in game skins so if that was possible then why not nft's when nft's are much more popular than them and have more potential but isn't building a separate platform dedicated only for nft gambling can be an additional expense? Why cant they just adopt nft on their existing site? In that way they can save money and they better use that money for promotions to tell that they are now supporting nft's.

It is possible to merge cryptos and nft's at one place. Crypto exchange sites already did that.
