14041  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Laptop mines but HTPC/gaming pc doesnt? on: July 10, 2014, 04:28:21 PM
Hello,

My sincere apologies. I am a complete novice and know my way around computers in a very basic way.

The story is that i registered with slushes pool, created a wallet and because i didnt understand those command prompt type things i am using guiminer.

Now I can mine fine on the laptop which has a Nvidia geforce GT 520m at about 9 Mhashs's which i read is pretty poor.

I have an average graphics card in my htpc which is Radeon HD6770. I simply downloaded guiminer to the htpc, typed in the miner login details on there and it sits about 130 Mhas/s.

The problem is that in the summary view of guiminer running on the htpc nothing is being accepted or showing as stale... where as on the the laptop if I come back after 5 minutes there will be a few shares and stales.

Am i missing something glaringly obvious?

Thanks for reading.

With 140 MH/s (your htpc+laptop), you can get 0.0000042 btc (420 satoshi) a day on average.
IIRC the minimum payment threshold on Slush is 0.01 btc, so you need to mine 6.5 years to get a payout, assuming the difficulty remains constant.

Now, maybe you would reconsider your plan. Smiley

Just spend the time on bitvisitor and landofbitcoin you'll earn way more

Best bet is get new mining equipment (i suggest not GPU), or just buy BTC.
14042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Vanity addresses? on: July 10, 2014, 04:09:55 PM
Is a vanity address hard to make?

No very easy to make.  Deepening on length depends on time to make.
14043  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost flash drive with wallet.dat on: July 10, 2014, 03:37:13 PM
yes, anyone who has access to your encrypted wallet.dat can try brute force the pass. But if your pass is original, and strong (various combination of numbers, special signs, min. 8 char. long) there is nothing to worry about.

also do not say to anybody how much btc this wallet control. no loot = nobody will try to break pass.

If you have access to the wallet.dat file, it won't be diffcult to dump out the encrypted information for you to see (even though your wallet is encrypted with a strong password). Then we can see which address that holds the money. Once it is found, use blockchain to know how much money in there.

I would say difficulty depends on password length and complexity.  I personally would make new wallet send BTC to it and encrypt it, and turn on two factor authentication.

14045  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. W on: July 10, 2014, 07:18:56 AM
So updown conveniently got sick, that's why he's not present or paying people. But he got well just enough to pay 9 people, and went back to being sick  Roll Eyes

And 9 seemingly random people, or people with some kind of influence?

This is a insanely long post.  It's been like this since the beginning.  Lack of communication, he goes offline for long periods of time.  Then some get paid, some don't.

With a few getting paid they post they got paid.  More people sign up and try it, even though so many complain no payment.  I personally did it for a week and half never got paid removed the signature.

This campaign has gotten a TON of free advertisement.  I predict it continues to have a few paid some paid part of full payment until people finally stop using this signature.

Neptune card in Novec 7100.  This was just a quick test.  Hopefully I will have more numbers tomorrow.

Nice, but how do you cool off your oil after it get heated up?

IIRC, the boiling temp is like 34C. The liquid boils and the gas rises. The gas is denser than normal air, so it remains settled inside the jar without rising to mix with the air from the rest of the room. When it naturally cools back down to less than 34C, it joins with the rest of the liquid in the bottom of the jar. Repeat this process dozens of times.

I believe you need some sort of cool radiator to A) facilitate faster condensation so the amount of Novec 7100 in gas form doesn't rise out of the jar, and B) keeps the ambient Novec liquid temp lower, otherwise it would naturally settle on a temp that is relatively close to 34C.

The Novec liquid doesn't magically make heat disappear. It just makes it easier to move it away from the chips, which is what we want. After that, you still have to find a way to remove the heat from the liquid and/or gasses, and get it out of there.

I believe in video or a different picture it shows something on top to cool.  It's a very amazing setup.
14047  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to mine using my laptop on: July 10, 2014, 04:23:42 AM
Most likely you will lose money.  You could gpu or cpu mne, but laptop mining is never suggested.
14048  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Laptop mines but HTPC/gaming pc doesnt? on: July 10, 2014, 04:20:40 AM
I would suggest doing some math.  GPU's are harder and harder to profit.  Unless you have "free electricity" it will be very hard.
14049  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 10, 2014, 04:18:28 AM
You can try your luck by mining BTC by solo, if you get one block, would be great

Please don't do that, its as good as gambling.

You could do this but it would be like going out buying a lottery ticket.
14050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GPU Mining. on: July 10, 2014, 04:12:34 AM
Barring somebody having access to 100% free electricity there are no profitable GPU coins for mining.  Scrypt coins had that distinction for quite awhile until scrypt asics started appearing.  Then Adaptive Scrypt-N coins, followed by X11/X13, Keccak, Grotesl, and Quark.

But as it stands now...GPU mining is pretty much screwed universally in my opinion.

Unless free electricity it is hard for big GPU miners.   I know i sold mine off because you have to add in cooling to the equation running lots of cards and cooling electric bills were not fun for GPU.

A little lee update.  The professional data center in Taizhou is working out great!  Very good mining speed's from it and top notch data center.

Slight delay on images.  Hopefully tonight they will be completed.

As soon as they are on the machines they will be ready to be rented!
14054  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 08, 2014, 02:00:15 PM
If you look on Ebay you will find lots of block erupters for cheap.  It is more of for fun on most usb miners don't expect ROI.

Hmm sir can we mine altcoins with ERUPTERS i serached on google but they say that you cannot mine altcoins only bitcoin .. so is there any way that i can mine altcoins can we hack it Cheesy ?
No you cannot.  There is a dual miner i believed it was called that is close design.  But again with this chances of ROI are very slim its more of a project piece.
14055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice on paper wallet on: July 08, 2014, 01:58:05 PM
Does anyone know where to find paper wallet designs? lol.

I cant seem to find any on this forum.

I don't know if i would use much of a "design".  Personally I think if somehow the paper wallet is stolen having nothing bitcoin on it is best.  If you just have the private key there is a good chance most thief's that steal from a house would have no idea what it is and throw it away.
14056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Running two different graphics cards for mining? on: July 08, 2014, 01:51:50 PM
Hey all,

I was lucky enough to acquire an AMD 7990 which will be arriving tomorrow. I currently have a GeForce GTX 670.

I was wondering if it's possible for me to run the 7990 as the primary display driver and still keep the GTX 670 for mining only?

Is it as simple as plug and play? Or will there be more complicated steps I'll need to take to accomplish this? Or is it not possible at all? Keep in mind, I only want to use the older card for mining alone.

Thanks a lot!

It should work but I think you need to open 2 different program, CGminer and CCminer.

That's if you can get drivers to play nice.  It's possible to do if all works right.  But your life is easier if you stick with AMD or GeForce. If your mining litecoin like i believe it said in first post i would suggest doing some ROI compared to power used before doing to much mining.
14057  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Needs More Help on: July 08, 2014, 06:55:43 AM
Help! I have started pulling my hair out. My computer is a Pentium Dual Core CPU E5300 with an Intel G41 Express Chipset incorporated graphics. I can not get Guiminer to work. Am I screwed with these graphics? If so what should I get that will work but won't bankrupt me? Thanks......Sandy

This computer really is not a mining computer on it's stats.  Before jumping into GPU's i would do some ROI analysis.

I suggest looking at bitcoin asic's.  Again all depends on if you want to mine or just buy bitcoin's straight out and amount you want to spend.
14058  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: StarGems. High-quality custom gemstone cutting service. on: July 08, 2014, 06:52:52 AM
Coins are really popular here for physical wallets anymore.  Depending on what product was a physical wallet coin out of certain stone could be pretty neat if turned out nice on shape and etching and depending on price.

This could be a great or horrible idea I know nothing about cutting stones.
14059  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group] Miner Rentals V2.0 - Dragon 1T Bitcoin Miner-Round 2 very soon! on: July 08, 2014, 06:02:49 AM
I can have them turned to what ever pool i want to ? or do i have to use Eligius ?

These will all be professionally hosted you receive login credentials and are able to pick any pool you want.

I have been asked, I'm not doing any "pre-sales".  I'm hoping to have the new image on machines and be ready tomorrow if all goes well.  Once we have the new image on machines the google form will be opened up for sales.
