14081  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1.0 BTC (will pay $100 extra Sunday Morning) need the BTC tonight!! on: January 03, 2015, 07:33:25 AM
Well besides my car title for a 2008 335 XI BMW and a watch and WoW account not much, but what else could I use to scale $400 ? Isnt there a service where I can LEGALLY be obligated to pay it?? I wish local BTC'ers would meet up right now lol =(
I wouldn't be able to take possession of your car title tonight and unless you are very close to me I would not be able to take possession of your watch (even if I could I would not be able to verify it is in fact worth $400+ tonight).

I could care less about your legal obligation to repay, as people are really obligated to repay loans that they do not pay every day, people take abuse the bankruptcy system all the time. I am looking for a financial incentive for you to repay, e.g. something defaults back to me (that I already have in my possession) in the event you do not repay
14082  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1.0 BTC (will pay $100 extra Sunday Morning) need the BTC tonight!! on: January 03, 2015, 07:23:18 AM
What collateral do you have?
14083  Other / Off-topic / Re: Re: post an interesting photo on: January 03, 2015, 05:48:03 AM
If you have nothing more then your account as collateral then you will not be able to get a .2 loan. Lenders tend to lend much less when using full member accounts as collateral
14084  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering 0.06 btc No interest , No Colletoral (Need trust) on: January 02, 2015, 11:59:32 PM
This is buying trust which is frowned upon here
14085  Other / Meta / Re: THIS IS THE REAL MOREIA!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!! on: January 02, 2015, 11:45:11 PM
You both seriously need to learn to date your signed messages. Now anyone can potentially impersonate you by producing the same signature/message/address combination
14086  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1 BTC on: January 02, 2015, 09:15:22 PM
Do you have a link as to where your collateral trades?

The only reason I can think of that you will not publish it is because you do not have enough Bitcoin yet

Want to bet? You can see when the incoming transaction happened so you would know that I did not transfer it now.

No because that bet can easily be manipulated either by paying someone to sign a message for you that has enough bitcoin to pay or by sending from an exchange that will likely send from an address that has enough bitcoin to pay now.

There is no reason why you would need to keep a address secret like this.

It is not really hard to find the address. This is it: https://blockchain.info/address/1GHg4PFHBZn55TWzoCP3q1fwvrHDKXWin6

How do you know for sure that's the address? Nice job if it is!
carra could have done the exact same thing that he did. He could have checked the block chain that matches a certain criteria and then described an address that matches. Until carra can sign a message from an address containing enough funds to pay everyone I would assume that he does not yet have the funds
14088  Economy / Lending / Re: I Need Short-Term Lender - $800 Via Paypal! on: January 02, 2015, 06:59:54 PM
I would not accept a loan payment via PayPal. I can help you get $800 into your PayPal by lending you Bitcoin that you can sell on btc-e and withdraw to PayPal however I would need collateral in the form of Bitcoin and would need to be repaid in Bitcoin. I can agree to have the loan be a fiat based loan if you wish.
14089  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS $100 Amazon gift card on: January 02, 2015, 06:55:42 PM
I don't think that even escrow would be able to protect you if you buy from the op. The gift cards can be purchased with stolen credit cards and have the balance reversed months later
14090  Other / Meta / Re: Nearly 10M posts - who will it be? on: January 02, 2015, 06:36:59 PM
Am I being trolled here or what?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

What are you doing talking about 100k+ posts?
forum history (at the very bottom). It shows how many posts were made every month and every day if you press the "+"
14091  Other / Meta / Re: Nearly 10M posts - who will it be? on: January 02, 2015, 06:25:45 PM
9624819... getting close...

It'll still be a loooooong way before we actually reach 10M though. Maybe another month.

You sure? Tongue

Well, I don't know really. According to Quickseller, only around ~400k posts occur each month. So it'd make sense that it might take around another month.
December saw 294517 (~295k) posts, this is down ~2.9% from November even though December has ~3% more days, although this could be attributed to the Christmas and New Years holidays. January 2014 saw ~620k posts verses December 2013's ~453k posts which was a ~37% increase. January 2013 over December 2012 saw a ~15% increase in posts.

Edit: I was using an inaccurate current post count above for my estimate.

Figures. All you do all day is sell accounts to scammers and go around making up wild accusations.

Again, exact 7.5 BTC, and it has been sent in the past 2-3 days to my account. If you are unable to take it up then apologize, but no doubt you will have some other twisted reasoning to get out of that.
You deleted your post so I was not able to properly quote it.

I am not going to apologize because you have not proven anything. I obviously do not trust you enough to offer a fair bet nor do I have any intention of giving someone who I am fairly certain is going to end up scamming any money, and am not going to risk damaging my reputation just to prove a point.

You still are avoiding the question of the purpose of revealing the address that you are holding funds in. (note it is address, not account)

Could you please show an address in your control that holds more than 5BTC; which is approximately the amount, off the top of my head, that will be needed to pay all users. Exact figures can be found if need be.

I actually have 7.5 BTC, but I am not going to reveal the address to you. I would have preferred to remove the money from there last month to a secure place but did not do that as there was already much concern. This time it stays in the unknown address, and you will see what the address is when it is paid out.

Not surprising that you are again posting here as soon as I PMed you.

What is the purpose to not put the address pubblic ?

Minimizing risks. Surely, as an escrow who lost an account you understand the risks involved?
keeping an address secret does nothing to stop risks. This is true even if you have the private key in cold storage.

The only reason I can think of that you will not publish it is because you do not have enough Bitcoin yet

14096  Other / Meta / Re: Bump Spam on: January 02, 2015, 03:50:31 PM
Shouldn't services like bumping the threads for money with ALTs be deleted as bumping is only allowed once per 24 hours? Account selling isn't against rules, so for account buy/sell services, there shouldn't be any prob. This service isn't like that and is against rule. Correct me if I am wrong! Smiley

   ~~MZ~~
yes this is, imo worse then signature spam via shitposts. I have primarily noticed this happening on account selling threads however I have also noticed that a select few threads are constantly at the top of the first page.

However why a bitcointalk forum ( so we are also talking of cryptography) don't have a simple email verification.
it is to allow users to remain more anonymous. And I am pretty sure that is has been reasonably concluded that email "verdfication" is what allowed the account to get "hacked"

As for who, who knows. I'm not going to reveal specifics about pms I've seen in reports here, but I will say it's not wise to taunt scammers when you leave them negative feedback. It's disrespectful, and a good way to make enemies.

I am sure that a lot (or at least some) of the people that receive negative trust is a result of a misunderstanding and may not truly be trying to scam. If this is the case then taunting after giving negative trust means that you are taunting someone who is trying to operate legitimately.

Imo that behavior is very unprofessional and reflects very poorly on him.

I've sent only the pm to the impostors , check my sent feedback.  In my opinion you are trying to argue with me , but you can't make a valid conversation.

An example :

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=408037  I think this is an impostor .
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=407961  also him.

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=407925  discovered also " fedsn0w" ....
It is never appropiate to taunt someone. The trade with caution is enough to stop anyone trying to impersonate someone else. They were probably trying to actually have a presence here if they bothered to report any messages. There was what was probably a honest misunderstanding when someone made a thread in meta about getting negative trust minutes after creating an account that was similar to your username. My impression of him was that he thought of the name independently of your reputation here (although he may have been trying to get the trust removed to scam). I haven't seen that person around since the day he made that thread so he probably either left the community or made another account.

he said numerous times that the mistake was unintentional when he was asked if he was going to repay out of his own pocket. This leads me to believe that he was not planning on paying out of my own pocket. The situation was resolved quickly enough so that it didn't need to come to that

Well he may or may not have done the right thing in that situation but I guess we'll never know now. Luckily for everyone involved really. Regardless, redsnow's rep is somewhat tarnished and your feedback can stay if you so wish it to be. That's your call.
I think my trust is appropiate for now. The maximum affect it will have is cause a trade with caution warning for anyone that has me on their trust list. This is an example of why you should trade with caution when dealing with him. Anyone reading my rating will see that I do not think he is going to actively try to scam.

The negative feedback is harsh as he has stopped providing escrow from his main account. Keep a look out for one of his alts to start providing escrow.

If you want to provide negative feedback to anybody, do it to Canary. The default trust power went to his head and he started the taunting after that.
there is nothing to say that he wouldn't provide escrow if asked (there is no reason why him saying he won't escrow anymore in the future - changing his mind would not make him a liar). My trust rating warns people against asking him to escrow

yes he was probably lying about giving an incorrect address but it doesn't matter. The only reason this situation was resolved was because badbear bailed him out. It is because of BadBear that both parties wil not face a total loss. I don't think it is appropriate for his reputation to be unscathed in this case

But we don't know how redsnow would've acted because of that. He may or may not have returned the funds out of his own pocket. Had he done the same as segvec then yes negative feedback would be justified. It's arguable as to whether his reputation is unscathed. He has a trusted neutral warning and a red from Eal and you and many people will now not trust him, but most of all he's stopped offering the service which was the right thing to do.
