1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 29, 2014, 04:57:18 PM
How come so many experts are warning this coin is a scam?

Is it true this bytecoin bcn is trying to confuse people with the real bytecoin bte?
Is it true this bytecoin bcn is premined?

How come this coin's original promoters a few months ago used names similar to those used by the other bytecoin?
Were they trying to confuse people into thinking this bytecoin was around a long time, when in fact it is new?

I don't know if I should be wary of this coin since so many people are warning it looks like a scam.

I don't know about the real bytecoin (BTE), but this Bytecoin (BCN) has a premine of 82% by a small group of people.

It was secretly released in 2012 to a small group of people and has been mined by them for around 2 years until it was officially released to the public this March of 2014. Those people, mined 82% of all Bytecoins, or over 150billion Bytecoins total. The max coin supply for Bytecoin is 180billion, so they own over 82% of all Bytecoins there is. The Bytecoin Blockchain shows everything.

I would call this a very severe premine.

Also, mining Bytecoin is Unprofitable. The other cryptonote coins are 10x more profitable to mine than this coin, since BCN has nonexistent buy support..
Once again another absolute false statement.  this one is almost humorous. lol

LOL, false statement? Provide Any evidence otherwise.

My evidence is the Bytecoin Blockchain, which you cant argue with..All the proof is there, the 82% premine.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: June 29, 2014, 04:54:36 PM
The plain truth is that bytecoin bcn has used very dishonest marketing, including an army of shills, a very hidden launch that was, in effect a huge premine, and various attempts to confuse people with the other bytecoin bte.

When the people running the con decide to cash out a lot of people are going to wonder how they got fooled.

One of the ways is that a site which is trusted to cover the back of less knowledgeable people instead decided to yield to some unknown pressure and go against the most basic common sense.

Perhaps another solution might be a third designation on coinmarket cap, something that does not specifically mean unmineable or premined but simply indicates the coins status is being researched and buyers should do due diligence.

Well Bytecoin has had a premine of over 82%

If anyone of those preminers decides to even sell 1/8 of his premine, Bytecoins price will drop to less than 0 satoshi aka become worthless.

1425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is PoS dead? on: June 29, 2014, 04:25:17 PM
Means the dev (owns all coins in the beginning) can do this after e.g one year? So we have to trust the dev as long as we use this coin?

No, centralized checkpointing prevents against history rewrites, for instance no rewrites older than a month. That isn't consensus though and the attack could be done before checkpointing.

You have to trust the dev or whoever holds a large amount of the coin anyway (not 51%) as they can dump or manipulate the market as they please, a social 51% attack. Most PoS coins are susceptible to this with only a few holding the vast majority of coins.

Yea we have to trust that those NXT whales arent 51% attacking NXT all the time since only like 7 people got 100% of all NXT coins....

I have lost all faith Ive ever had in NXT.
1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge game over? on: June 29, 2014, 01:57:26 PM
the block halving game, lol, there is going to be some change due to the halving but it will not be what everyone keeps expecting ha ha.

So, what are you expecting?
It's a fact that multipools are dumping tens of BTCs worth of dogecoins every day. In one week this will be reduced by half; this can only be good for the price.

Sure, fears of a 51% could surface again (even though half of the current hashrate would be 30 gh/s, which is still very secure), but this won't be a long-term problem since the community and the devs are ready to do whatever it takes to save the network if it does get in a dangerous situation (ie. switch to PoS.)

Lmfao, in case you didnt notice. Dogecoin has no coin limit, it has an unlimited amount of coins that can be made. It's inflation is through the roof. Because it has an unlimited amount of coins is why the price is going to 0 soon. Like 50billion dogecoins are made everyyear am i right?

Dogecoin is stupid as shit, with its unlimited coin supply, youll never see this coin rise about 1 satoshi when it hits that price in the next 3 months.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 29, 2014, 04:28:27 AM
Why doesn't Litecoin add new updates to their coin like some altcoins do? eg. anon features

Seems like the Litecoin devs abandoned the coin. Litecoin hasn't been updated with any new features since it was made nearly 3 years ago..
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 29, 2014, 04:22:03 AM
Charlie Lee has worked for Coinbase over a year and he can't even convince his superiors to adopt Litecoin, what does that tell you.

It's because Litecoin has no innovation or sense of community.

B.b..b..ut it's the silver to Bitcoin's gold! Why? Because they say so :p

Haha, Litecoin's silver logo doesn't warrant it the silver to anything, maybe the Pencil Shavings to  Dogecoin's Sharpener though.  Grin

Ok well this is dumb. Do we have source code? Lets clone it and release it public from day 1 this time.

Here we go. Right here on the downloads page. Lets fork this thing Grin https://bytecoin.org/downloads

Lol, the Bytecoin sourceode is FULL of bugs. The whole thing is a mess, Monero has so far cleaned up the Bytecoins sourcecode immensely from a plethora of bugs and released the coin without any instamine or premine, even the Bytecoin miner wasnt working until monero devs fixed it..
well that's just false, I was mining bytecoin well before xmr was out.

These "bugs" were partialy due to the changes the Monero made to the code. So in a sense they were cleaning up their own bugs. I would like to see how Monero devs match up against those who wrote the code for the coin. Place your bets.

Why are you lying...The Bytecoin devs copy/pasted one of Moneros updates from Github into Bytecoins code and that caused a major issue with Bytecoin today, where users have been losing coins theyve sent to different wallets. It has nothing to do with Monero, just Bytecoin's incompetent devs.

Monero and Boolberry devs are the best when it comes to cryptonote code IMO.
1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: June 29, 2014, 03:59:33 AM
the volume seems very thin on the exchanges (BTER for example).  i'm interested in buying a few BTC worth, but not sure how i do so with such low volume.   yes XMR is trading at .004 as of this writing, but there's only about 1BTC of buy orders between .004 and .003.

Poloniex has the most volume atm, with around 200-300 btc per day for XMR(monero)

Is there any pre-mine? About how may coins are there now? About how many coins will there be in circulation after a year? Why is the blockchain so big already with such a new coin?

Did you not read any posts in this thread at all?

Bytecoin was released in 2012 secretly on the deepweb, to a small group of people. It has been mined, in secret, from 2012 to 2014, until a member on this forum released Bytecoin to the public. It has had a premine of over 82% of Bytecoin's total supply.

Bytecoin has a total coin supply of 180billion coins. Over 150billion has been mined by a few people in around 2 years. The Bytecoin blockchain shows everything, Bytecoin's 82% premine is similar to NXT's horrible distribution to a few individuals.
yeah listen to the darkcoin groupy.

I don't know how something can be released in secret, that's a contradiction in terms but you can read this thread and make your own opinion.

I'm a hater of Darkcoin...just because my name is Darkota doesnt mean Im any way affiliated with Darkcoin idiot.

Are you trolling or stupid....?

I can easily make a coin and release it to my friends only....and we mine that coin ourselves only...That's what happened to Bytecoin.

The blockchain is proof, you can see that over 82% of Bytecoins total coin supply was mined in 2 years by a small group of people, there is no argueing with that...

Why do you guys spend so much time talking about DRK? It's almost like DRK has 2 threads. Seems like every time I come here, it's just a "DRK is a scam" circle jerk.

Because XC is dark's copycat. They copy everything Darkcoin does. Including their algo, previous name...etc etc.Lol
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: June 29, 2014, 02:53:50 AM
The money is safe and I'll be sending out a mass email to all users with further instructions later.

Soon after your mass email with a [Suspicious link removed] link for changing one's disbursement address I received another email mailed through a different mail service (amazonses.com?) saying that Google had taken down the [Suspicious link removed] link. The second email gave an unshortened link to a form. The [Suspicious link removed] link has indeed been taken down. Was the second message legit, or was it a phishing attack? Why was it sent through a different mail service?

I received these emails although I never even signed up at darkpool. It referred to my bitcointalk forum username. Could be phishing...

If you recieve them and your bitcointalk.org name was in it the email. DO Not click on the link in the email. It's phishing and most likely contains a virus/keylogger.
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: June 29, 2014, 01:16:24 AM
[...]

I'm interesting in it.
How can I participate ?

Well, that depends. What are your skills?

I can fulfill all your requirement, and 1 month available.

You can start by checking out the "zerocoin" branch of https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin and looking in src/libzerocoin . Try reading Tutorial.cpp to get an overall feel for how zerocoin works, then move on to understanding the rest of it. Most of that code was not written by me, by the way.

We will need to integrate libzerocoin with Anoncoin:

  • loading and saving zerocoins
  • pushing zerocoins into another wallet file (creating a new one if doesn't exist), and pulling them from another wallet file
  • updating the protocol
  • updating the blockchain format (both network and on disk)
  • the Qt GUI

Also join #anoncoin on either Freenode or Irc2P (preferred). I'm there more frequently than here.

When zerocoin is successfully implemented on Anoncoin, all the developers will be immortalized forever in bitcoin history -- the first to implement a truly anonymous coin.

Lol, too bad it's never gonna happen. There hasn't even been 1 commit on Github. The "devs" arent going to implement zerocoin, it was all talk.

Not to mention, Cryptonote is more anonymous than zerocoin "would" be. Im 100% sure that zerocoin will never be made, why you may ask? Because it was abandoned by it's own devs.

bumping this shows your intelligence level..
i can understand wanting to advertise and hype up even a scam coin
but doing it by hyping up a coin topic loaded with negativity and drama is just raw stupidity big time.
YEAH, i am saying this again (i pointed this out 10 page back roughly)

kind of surprised here but not really..
just more deceitful or stupid activity here in ALT/Main which in a twisted way amuses me lol

Lmao, Why did you tell him that Spoetnik. I was hoping he'd realize much later, would of been hilarious.  Grin

The genius is bumping a thread that says, "Why Poloniex Has Rejected Supercoin" and he's wondering why the price keeps going down, down, down.

LMFAO
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 29, 2014, 12:51:52 AM
I remember koolio bragging on btc-e about waiting until Litecoin hit $100 to buy a Lamborghini lol

Litecoin's all time high was $50, and then it retreated rather quickly to $30, then to $10, now its $8 and dropping 3% everyday.

To compare, even coins with a tiny bit of innovation have surpassed Litecoin, including absolute copy/paste coins like Maxcoin had an all time high of $40 and Auroracoin had an all time high of $90, almost twice Litecoin's ATH.

What I find interesting too is the lack of Litecoin evangelism that goes on now. There's very little positive sentiment or even defending Litecoin anymore. Not sure why. It's such a waste. I can't get over it. It's like the Litecoin community is just putting their fingers in their ears and going "la la la, we have a big market cap, la la la, I can't hear you" while everyone else is trying to wake them up.

I also agree, the LTC community is very lacking. Full of arrogant people who try to deny the truth that LTC is dead/dying.

waaa ... waaaa ... waaaaa ... waaaaaaaaa ...

I am a whiny little bitch that cant think for myself.

Not my fault you cant read and have your head firmly lodged up your own ass for the world to see.

Ok this is what XC is.

A copy of Darkcoin, Darkcoin made x11 algo, DGW, Masternodes, and Darksend. Darkcoin's previous name was  Xcoin. Darkcoin's Masternodes are trustless and decentralized, while Darksend works perfectly in giving anonymous transactions.

XC stands for Xcoin(which is Darkcoin's previous name), has Xnodes, used the x11 algo when it was PoS, and has Xsend. XC's Xnodes are trusted and not centralized, and they have been known to steal user's coins, and Xsend does not work, making XC just a half-shit, mediocre copy of Darkcoin without the anonymity part.

Conclusion:
XC is a wannabe copy of Darkcoin, with it's name Xcoin, being the former name of Darkcoin, it's Xnodes(copy of Darkcoin's masternodes) stealing user's coins since they are trusted and centralized, and it's Xsend(copy of Darkcoin's Darksend) not even working.

Any coin> XC
