Wink

1422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounty 0.35 BTC for 5 slider images on: July 14, 2011, 12:06:41 AM
I'm not new to Bitcoin, but I want some money, send me the details.

I tend to work with Royalty Free images and have accounts on a few stock image sites, so there is no legal ramifications for the stuff I usually use (this is obviously not a 100% guarantee depending on what you are looking for).

However, my fee will be 0.50.   With this though, you not only will have the job done, but you will get quality Smiley
1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Slashdotted Again on: July 13, 2011, 11:59:28 PM
Bitcoin site have outgrown slashdot. It can never be slashdotted again.
I would like to publicly apologize to any slashdotters reading this, kiba knows not your power.

I really think rather than focus on what great places Bitcoin has appeared, we should all look to where it can go.  Let's break out with the map (click to enlarge)

I think Bitcoin has been brewing in the Sea of Opinions enough, I think some people should gather to do a push on deviant art in some way, but honestly, it's time to just move to new lands.
1424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the silk road? on: July 13, 2011, 11:44:35 PM
All drug threads should be this thread http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=28270.0 and delete every post after the first two and lock it, all information and opnion regarding drugs, Bitcoin, Silk Road, and etc, can all be found in those two posts lol.
1425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can someone please get things moving again on: July 13, 2011, 11:38:16 PM
I kind of agree. I  would either prefer to have a $20 Bitcoin when I got to sleep or a $10, I would honestly be satisfied with either just to see some movement.
1426  Other / Off-topic / Re: The BBB is a scam on: July 13, 2011, 11:37:09 PM
Who's to say that the 11 complaints were valid and that they were deemed invalid?
A third party that can be bought off.

I have worked for two companies who have used BBB.  Both companies, while I would not consider them bad or shady, would deal with BBB in just that way, a shady way, pay it off, it's gone.  Promote that we are part of the BBB.  This was well over 5+ years ago, but seeing that 20/20 interview, it seems it is still just a minority that knows about them, but with the internet and information passing so quick they'll be gone in no time (those were my same words 5+ years ago, shit is changing, but at a snails pace it seems).
1427  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hat Surfing on: July 13, 2011, 11:29:05 PM
I don't know, a little loud, and not as funny as this http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=28407.msg357476

Also resubmitting the same link isn't a good idea, especially if the first thing is buried http://digg.com/mc_lovin
1428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Commercial on: July 13, 2011, 11:23:04 PM
Good point on no music what so ever.  I think the sound effects are the key if there needs to be any audio, that change sound with those words in the merchant one felt right Smiley
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In addition to "Who is John Galt?": "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?" on: July 13, 2011, 11:19:13 PM
I ment to put this together a few months ago

I like that shirt.  It makes me want to make a green shirt with white lettering, same design/font you have going, and it just says "Kiss Me I'm Satoshi"
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Commercial on: July 13, 2011, 10:52:02 PM
I like them except the part at the end of "Bitcoin is a success because of you" as that would only apply to people into Bitcoin and thus not really the target of the commercial.

I may have busted out a complaint right there but that is because I know people tend not to be good critics and just bash, and honestly, you are not giving people a lot of material to work with, these are honestly turning out really cool imo, that one line is the only thing I could think of that didn't sit right, and hell, that is just my opinion, screw it.

I want to see these ones covered now.

Mom/Mothers

Dad/Fathers

1431  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC Shutdown (Illegal Money xfer) on: July 13, 2011, 10:45:22 PM
Makes sense to me.

Now where is that Bitcoin network button so I can stop everyone from this crazy imaginary money game.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NERDr.com article on: July 13, 2011, 10:42:47 PM
The assessment is based too much on what the guy feels is the truth behind the motivations of Bitcoin users, thus making the whole page shit.

I have to say though, excellent troll bait (not accusing you, just the nerdr himself), he has managed to capture so many Bitcoin users into actually debating him in his comments section, this is actually better than the article itself.

"Bitcoin owners and users who (through greed) “want to believe” and you have a situation waiting to go bad."

Yeah, the writer seems to have his opinions made up, hard to discuss things in any realistic manner with that block in place.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reddit comments on a thread. Interesting discussion on: July 13, 2011, 10:36:19 PM
I don't think the kooks are a majority, they're just very vocal.  The trolls are as big of a problem as the kooks are.  Normal people are definitely interested in Bitcoin, we just have to shut the kooks and trolls up so that the normal folks will tend to stick around.

Once Sirius stops dragging his feet, this forum is supposed to be removed from the bitcoin.org domain, moved it to bitcointalk.org, and the "forum" link will presumably be removed.  He has the new domain now, he just hasn't actually done the move yet.

There's also an effort to get a Bitcoin Q&A site on Stack Exchange.  This will help a lot, as we'll finally have a user support site with decent moderation.  You guys should join and help get it off the ground.

I am really surprised that the Stack Exchange site still has yet to find enough people, are the programmers here on the forums spreading that link to the appropriate places?  /r/Bitcoin/ just had someone today message me that he was trying to join the forums to check on two projects (one has to do with Fantasy Football, just makes sense), I have yet to see the mention of the Stack Exchange other than your signature and you posting about it.   That format seems really good, people who are already committed should promo it a bit more.

Also, everyone should pray that the official Bitcoin.org forums never go away.   Dear lord if there wasn't an "Official" place that both kooks (political and otherwise) and programmers can meet to discuss the random daily Bitcoin bullshit, I fear for places like Stack Exchange.   Or basically whoever would be next under the .org for a search on the word "Bitcoin"
1434  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my vision for the future of bitcoin mining on: July 13, 2011, 10:21:46 PM
I'm sure the top few Bitcoin players would pay heavily for a Jacuzzi custom built that is warmed by mining rigs.

Hell, these things dry strawberries http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=25440.0 , they can do anything.

That requires a lot of heat and lack of mobility.

1436  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin awards. on: July 13, 2011, 09:20:27 PM
Just going to leave this image here because I liked it and I don't want to put it on the computer I'm on, and it would be relating to this thread anyways.

Ignore this post, there is nothing to see here!

1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: unofficial-britcoin removed from bitcoincharts/bitcoinwatch due to "absurd data" on: July 13, 2011, 09:16:31 PM
Will these sites that contain "absurd data" also be delisted or does tcatm have some sort of personal bias or alterior motives/incentives?

Update: Britcoin is relisted at bitcoinwatch.com and bitcoincharts.com.

Note: The only winning move is not to play.  I losted.
I want to say there is a happy ending here, but every time I read this thread I pull out another wacky theory on what is going on behind the scenes with the exchange sites.   It seems you did a lot of work mizerydearia, I hope the Britcoin users appreciate it Smiley
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Currency Symbol ฿ on: July 13, 2011, 09:09:44 PM
On the other hand, it appears that large numbers of people rely on only a handful of sites to check exchange rates. Whatever they use pretty much becomes the de facto standard. So far that would seem to be "BTC".
Truth.   You are right, the exchanges have way more control over this than the actual merchants.

In way then, yeah, this could be a matter of making all the exchanges agree on something, except with them dealing with "irl" currencies, I am guessing they would not want to 'steal' another currencies' symbol though. But I bet if it was already used and adopted by the majority, it really is out of their control.

Continue using ฿ everyone!   Force the world to accept our little digital currency symbol that at one time was used with some old world currency Smiley

Editors Note:  I have BTC I think is accepted, known, that is ours.  I am guessing all discussion at this point has to do only with the symbol, not the 'btc' three letter term, which is more or less the equivalent of the USD marking, not the symbol.
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trip, Around the world. on: July 13, 2011, 09:00:45 PM

Why would you bring physical gold?  Are you going to shave off a sliver to pay for your meal?  Nothing about your trip seems well thought out.

Troll Grade: C+

You did the requisite baiting with the 'bashing of payment choices', but you really fell short on the last bit. I know you can do better. I realize you aren't out of troll preparatory academy just yet.

After seeing his work, I have to agree.   But I have seen his full potential in a thread today.  He will be awesome for the forum if he stays around, weeds out a lot of random bs and / or makes it entertaining to read.

How is this prevented?
I guess accountants must now be held
