1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: February 10, 2023, 03:17:49 PM
It's not necessary to teach kids about bitcoin at a very young age, it can shift their attention toward money and you all know that in school teachers don't teach students about money, so I'd say its better to wait for them to grow up a bit and check what this kids like doing, kids are always curious about things and if they have goals and you introduce bitcoin to the kids it can impact their thinking and goal.

I will only teach teenagers that are into tech and computers, if you think about it very well you will understand why.
1422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we have mentors assign to you in this forum as your guiders? on: February 09, 2023, 05:58:26 PM
You don't need a mentor to guide you on your posting, this forum has it's rules and you need to read them yourselves, at first, I thought you are talking about a crypto investor mentor or someone very good at crypto trading.

Things to look out for

1. If your post is deleted then you post a shitpost, meaning the post or thread you created doesn't make any sense.
2. If you talk about Food in Bitcoin discussion section, it will be moved to off-topic, so post about bitcoin in bitcoin discussion section and post about altcoins in altcoins sections.
3. Make sure your post is very constructive, and do not copy from another websites and paste here, that's plagiarism, and this will get your account banned.
1423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep your head up. on: February 09, 2023, 04:52:59 PM
Finally, a good topic to clear some tough hard-learned lessons off the chest, we are all crypto investors and I bet that 99% of crypto investors have all lose money one way or the other, and it feels like there is no more hope, I hope you guys won't ever give up, losing is fine, if you lean from it, but not giving up is the only way to see all these through.

Clear the mind and try again, keep doing this again and again until things turn around for you, thanks for this creative motivating thread @NotATether, you just eased the mind of many.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 09, 2023, 04:02:37 PM
Too much of everything is just bad, I always fail after two successful gambling rounds, instead of quitting I always want more, and later on, I end up losing all I've won already, now I keep cautioning myself whenever I am gambling online, after every win I take my leave, this has greatly reduced my losses.

You need to understand who you are at first, where I am from we believe that gambling as spirits on it's own, you need to find out what works for you, some are time lucky and some get more luck on a particular day, Thursday's? Wednesday's? Some get lucky on rounds, as for me it's taking my leave after a win,  highest, twice.

The signature code update is done.
1426  Other / Beginners & Help / What are the two most effective pieces of advice you could give crypto investors on: February 08, 2023, 07:13:05 PM
Never try timing the market bottom

I have tried to time the bottom in the past and failed woefully, this is impossible to target even if you are a master of the crypto charts you will always miss, the best solution to this is dollar cost averaging.

Do not fall in love with your coins

I got too attached to my coins and while they are pumping I failed to take profits, I also get too attached to a crypto platform called Celsius and they went bankrupt on me.

I know many have done one or two things wrong in the crypto space, so what's yours? Mind sharing?
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 06:31:58 PM
None, because I was never addicted to gambling, I am very disciplined and I only gamble when I can afford it, most times 1% of my earnings per week is why I use it for gambling, if you said you find it very hard to stop gambling it means you are addicted to gambling. I think it's also better to gamble not only because of the earnings but out of deriving fun.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What's your take on TVL when analyzing on: February 08, 2023, 05:25:34 PM
The higher the TVL the better they say.

So a friend came to my place today and we are discussing about the next big trends in crypto space for the next bull market and I asked how he is doing his own research on crypto projects and he mentioned TVL ( Total Vlaue Locked ) , he claimed that the higher the TVL the better for the project, this have got me wondering.

How true is this? Is there anyone using this method? Is it possible to fake TVL and deceive new investors so that they can invest just because the total amount locked is high? What's your take on this?
1429  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Web Browsers begun to have inbuilt Cryptocurrency Wallets on: February 08, 2023, 04:33:53 PM
Crypto is really getting into the mainstream and this time around it's getting faster, if Apple and Amazon have made up their mind to follow crypto and NFT why not any other companies as well? Many more browsers will end up doing the same somewhere in the future, that's certain, but truth be told, these wallet browsers can't be trusted, I doubt the non-custodial and decentralized wallet they claimed to be is not foolproof.  But it's good to see how successful crypto and bitcoin are getting every year.
1430  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't imitate others; do what works for you. on: February 08, 2023, 03:03:04 PM
There is nothing wrong with following in others foot step, most times it leads to stardom or other good things in life, I understand you perfectly but you mixed the whole thing up, some times we need someone who knows better than us and if we follow them we will get better results. In this life, someone has to be your inspiration, I want to become a musician and I am following the same step on John Lennon, there is nothing wrong with this.

1431  Other / Beginners & Help / Why you must not use a crypto wallet on a bootloader-unlocked phone on: February 07, 2023, 09:12:22 AM
I won't worry that much about keyboards hijacking sensitive data or words on my phone unless I am using a rooted/bootloader-unlocked smartphone.

To root an Android smartphone today you need to jailbreak the bootloader, see the warning below when trying to unlock the bootloader, even the phone OEM recovery image gives warnings.

This will neutralize all the security features of the OS that comes with your phone, this will also give installed apps some access to your data like keyboards. For example, take a look at this access being asked from the Go keyboard.

Your Phone's OEM would typically not allow some changes on your phone because of security vulnerabilities, but not a jailbroken smartphone, if you want to peacefully use a hot wallet on your phone abstain from bootloader unlocking or rooting your phone.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you interested in bitcoin? on: February 07, 2023, 08:17:00 AM
Bitcoin builds values and stripped naked all centralised entities power, that's why I am so into the digital currency, also I never liked how the government treats people in my country and Bitcoin feels like the perfect fighting tool against the control of the government, if the government can control my Fiat in the bank there is at least something they have no power over, that is Bitcoin.

I remember a scene where the youths of the country are fighting for their rights, the government seized all access to big amount of transfer within that period of time and guess what? People start sending Bitcoin from all around the world to support the youths, it was a great experience.

It's inspiring to hear about how Bitcoin has been used to support activism and social causes. However, it's important to note that using Bitcoin does come with risks, including potential for theft and price volatility. Additionally, in some countries, the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may be restricted or even illegal.

Price volatility of Bitcoin is the best thing about it, this mean that your younger one or even unborn child can still join the train in future, everyone keeps talking about the volatility part as if it's bad, meanwhile it's the best reasonable thing about Bitcoin, the perfect redistribution of wealth.

Bitcoin can be restricted or ban like you said, but it's the centralized power doing their thing, there are few countries that banned Bitcoin years ago, today they all lifted the ban, Bitcoin is something the government don't want and can't get rid of, this is why we are slowly seeing CBDC and regulation at work, they still want to be in control, one way or the other.
1433  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: February 07, 2023, 07:53:52 AM
We don't know his bankroll and maybe he doesn't even bother because he has billions, but if it was a substantial amount for that person, would it ever make sense to place a bet of that size at all? Saying that this person wanted to play it safe would only apply if that amount of $1.4 million is within his perfect bankroll management range. Otherwise, if someone is seeking the kick in putting up $1.4 million for the chance of winning $11,200, I would think that there is some loss of control at play because nobody would care about winning $11,200 in exchange for risking over a million.
Observed so many people in this thread thinking that this gambler might not have cared much about this loss because he could have been a whale, but I completely disagree since it's still a lot of money for them too at the end of the day.

Rich people are usually more greedy when compared to poor people. Whether this gambler was a whale or not, this loss most probably affected him/her in a big way.
If you can consider rich people to be greedy how the heck did they end up becoming rich? I do not believe that rich people are greedy because they know how to put their money at work, they are the most patience in the whole world, they invest and easily expect results after several years later, poor people can't do this, to me the poor are the most greedy because they can't let go, they find it hard to invest money, they find it hard to take risks.

1435  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: February 06, 2023, 03:14:06 PM
Apart from having a wide range of games for the players, there is a side that's missing and thats multiplayer gaming, this days people engage in multiplayer games more than player vs the system, if you can implement players vs players and make profits out of that, it will be insane, many online gambling casinos don't have this, there is nothing more fun and interesting than challenging other players, even if the game is Roulette or slot.
1436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My step to promote bitcoin (Part 2). on: February 06, 2023, 01:08:30 PM
You are doing well OP, it is not easy to spend money on this stickers all for the sake of creating awareness for bitcoin but as Pokapoka124 just said, it will be hard to pass the message using this method because people don't take such things seriously anymore, if I do this in my country they will throw stickers away and say it's probably a scam. I think the best method is creating this sticker as an invitation card to a bitcoin seminar. I am sure you will get possitve result because, believe me, those who will come already want to know more.
1437  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN][In Merit] Post Count Down To Your Next Rank Here. on: February 06, 2023, 09:23:24 AM
I am honestly starting to feel wrong about this thread, if everyone keeps getting ranked up with this thread no one will care about creating quality posts on the forum anymore. Correct me if I am wrong? Looks like people are taking it too far.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the origins of provably fair technology in gambling? on: February 05, 2023, 05:02:41 PM
Probably fair gambling do exists, this is a  procedure where a player or gambler can verify that the consequences of games have been fair in real-time. Have you heard about Hashing before? this is the transformation of a longer string of data into a shorter string, when a seed numeral is hashed, it is encrypted. Some use seed generators and random number generators too.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / misconceptions have always been and will always be on: February 05, 2023, 04:04:51 PM
If you know how effortless it is to create new tokens this days you will assume very deeply before investing money on new projects, I used to reproach developers, saying they are all identical but what about people that create and run scam projects? Are they deserved to be called developers?  I don't think so.

There are few crypto platforms that have accomplished all the essential things about tokens in one niche, all you have to do is click one button and viola, you become the master. How do you feel about this?

Not all developers are real developers, and it's not that easy to become a real developer, fake nobodies only know how to copy codes of another project, change the name and deploy. Before you invest..

• Be cautious around new projects.
• Do diligent research.
• Make sure the teams are up to the standard they are claiming to be.
• Do not rely on the promises of developers.
• Develop your routine of thinking.
• Promised quick return is most likely a scam.
• Do not rush a thing, careful analysis always opens the eye.
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burning feature is not utility on: February 05, 2023, 01:57:20 PM
• Burning tokens,
• Locking tokens for a certain period after purchase,
• Offering extra tokens for staking your purchased tokens

These are all ways projects use to try and look profitable and attractive to investors and attract new ones. It doesn't offer practical benefits and would not make a shit project any better in the long run.
In a time where there are so many projects, anything to stand out from the rest is a welcome idea.
You have a point, but only about those project developers that are not serious with their work, have you put yourself in the same spot as a developer? I believe you will know how it feels doing so, if Binance can use the burning of tokens then any project can use it, no smart developer prays for token value free fall, there as to be reasons why investors would decide to hold the tokens for long term and that's how staking and locking tokens are reasonable.

Some said they release large max amounts of tokens and start burning them to look cool or attract investors, well I have seen projects with low max supply in millions that still use burning.
