1421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs; a new boat for spammers to jump on. on: January 13, 2024, 07:54:43 AM
I thought you will say don't create a new thread about Bitcoin ETFs, but you're actually say don't post without any knowledge. Well that's applicable to every threads! not only Bitcoin ETFs, there's no difference whether you discuss about Bitcoin ETFs, mempool, etc, you should post when you have something to add.

However, assuming the newbie really don't understand about ETFs, you can report their posts to moderators.

I think that the best ways for newbies to grow in their knowledge about any crypto related matters in the forum is to join in the conversations where they want to learn, they can post according to their understanding, if they're not on track with the topic being discussed, then more experienced members can put them through. But when it comes to starting a thread, a newbie needs to research the topic before starting it, or if the topic is a question, then they need to focus on clarity. Although it is good for newbies and experienced members to research on topics that they don't understand, so that they can make meaningful contributions in the thread.
1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DingDang.io is the next PEPE? Investing in it is worthy or not? on: January 13, 2024, 07:00:25 AM
I have checked their website and not impressed. This is nothing special but just another meme / NFT project like the hundreds of other coins but you are right as it is capable of giving high returns or take away everything just like any other meme coin projects. I would never endorse any such projects which is based on meme or NFT though it has capability to give you unexpected returns which may not be possible with other category altcoins but the problem is we would lose our sleep after investing as we never know when the coin might sky rocket and when it would become zero hence it's as good as future trading with high leverage.

It's the same advice all over, new projects are not to be trusted, there are lots of scam projects out there, carry out your own research before investing your money in any of them. If you have the appetite for high risks in cryptocurrency where you can invest your money and start to get returns in the shortest possible period of time, then look no further meme, pepe should be your focus, only that your money can burn with the project even before you consider getting returns from your investment, so it's nothing short of gambling with your fund. So if OP can do his research and see potentials in this DingDang, project, all I can do is wish him luck.
1423  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We de complain of gas fee for bitcoin transaction but bank fee de choke on: January 12, 2024, 05:19:03 PM
So lately, no be new thing say the gas fee for any bitcoin transaction don increase wela and this one don push people to looking out for alternative ways to reducing this fees with people even opting to be paid in other means. But my interest here no be for bitcoin transaction oh, na the charges when our local banks de take from us on a regular.

Almost every morning when I go wake up I go de see this charge of 6.9 naira and no be just for morning oh, sometimes I go just see some alert when be say na small money and I no de too reason am but if you look at our frequent this money de comot, e fit amount to something big oh.

I never de talk of the one when if you de receive money, them fit send you 3k make you go check your balance de see 2800 and those other charges when de follow de the ussd transaction we de do.

How una see all this unnecessary charge matter?

This has been normalized by the Nigeria Banks since the 80s and the Central Bank of Nigeria is not doing anything against this atrocities commercial banks are doing to their customers but I don't  see where this is close to the fee Bitcoin is asking. 6 Naira na small thing for where Bitcoin dy because na in Naira and it is way more cheaper than Bitcoin. You don Imagine say you want to send 200,000 thousand naira to another bank and your bank wan charge you 5,000 naira, you no go vex live the bank, that's almost what you might be charge using bitcoin to send from one wallet to another wallet.

No be lie, di way wey our banks de take nack us charges no get mate at all, you go see bank alert for your phone, you go come happy say money don enter, only to check am and na bank charge you go see, dem no go even bother to send you alert for some of them, you no go even notice the charges unless say na very small amount you get for your balance. But you no still fit to compere am to Bitcoin high transaction fees, especially as mempool never dicongest, transactions de take days to confirm if you choose to use small transaction fees. Banks no fit to charge you that kind transaction fees, infact banks de more convenient for transaction matters pass Bitcoin, dem de faster and cheaper.
1424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs in the Real World on: January 12, 2024, 03:33:28 PM
NFT? Aren't they dead? Well, I don't see NFT as a proper way of investment. Instead, I see them as a trend that has game and gone after some time leaving people with nothing. There was a hype at the beginning but right now I don't see much movement in the NFT market.
So them coming back for making a change or impact in the market seems like a fairy tale. The Golden era of NFT has died and I don't think it will ever come back. And it is also hard to make real life NFTs. You cannot input blockchain data in real life object. They can be cloned or copied so there's no way for a proper validation.

I've always wondered about the essence of NFT projects as investment in the long, I've never been a part of any of their communities because I really don't understand their vision, all I see is their focuses on games and arts. I guess they'd have to sale a masterpiece to a very rich art enthusiast or a celebrity to earn their tokens, my concern is that the art piece can be duplicated and anybody can have it, except the buyer keeps the original. I'll agree with you that NFT is a trend, and if they don't add any new innovations, then they're as good as dead, with investors funds going down with them. I don't know much about NFT so don't take my words as facts.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Spot ETFs approved, Bitcoin is not fraud. Where is Jamie Dimon? on: January 12, 2024, 01:32:37 PM
Quote
Where is Jamie Dimon?

One thing I saw is that after the ETFs were approved, many people gloated and started repeating the names of people who criticized bitcoin, calling bitcoin a scam to mock them. But does this make us better? Does it make us richer than them? And is there any guarantee that they are not secretly investing in bitcoin?

I think this will go nowhere and will not bring any benefit to our bitcoin investment. Instead, we should focus on our investments and improve our position and change our lives from our investments for the better.

I think that it is ok to call out influencial people that criticized Bitcoin that it was a fraud, their stance on Bitcoin will undoubtedly influence multitude of people who follow them to think like them. So a milestone like this Bitcoin ETF that shows the SEC approval is a testament of the acceptance Bitcoin as a valued investment asset. So the likes of Jamie Dimon, who are renowned in the financial industry will understand that despite their personal negative opinions about Bitcoin that it's acceptance will keep increasing. I totally agree that we should concentrate more on our investment plans in Bitcoin, than on people that calls it a fraud.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 12, 2024, 11:13:21 AM

The fact that you won  using $1k today doesn't give assurance that if you had used higher amount or that your next bet that you probably increased the wager in order to win a bigger amount will play. As gamblers let not focus all attention on the amount that we may by chance of luck win but on what we are to lose should we fail to win the bet, in that way we won't spend on gambling above what we can afford to lose.
Stay in check!

Thanks for giving clarity to this negative perception that greedy gamblers always have, when they win, instead of being happy for it, they'll rather begin to wonder if they had bet a larger amount definitely they'll be counting a far more win. So the question for them is why didn't they know that they'd win in the first place and use all their entire savings and investments to place the bet? That mindset is very harmful for every gambler who wishes to gamble responsibly, they should be contented with what the winning of what they can afford to loose brings for them. Always considering what if you lose a bet is a better mindset to have before gambling, rather than concentrating on amount to win that is not guaranteed, gambling is luck and the biggest mistake that a gambler can make is to bet amount that he cannot afford to loose.
1427  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you still advised more buy and store? on: January 12, 2024, 09:22:35 AM
I was thinking new kind of plan to buy bitcoin every month from my salary immediately my company paids me but I still have other responsibilities to carry with family so am skeptical about it especially now that the price has no direction. If can afford storing every month in a long run I may realizes half of bitcoin unit and that's a big achievement to buy but to you is funny because you have enough of it. So advise me on what to do! Should I hold on because of the instabilities in price? Or I should buy and store? Over to you

If only we can see the future, many people will not make mistakes about their investment plans, they'll make the right decisions because they already knows the future outcome. I hope that you went ahead to keep buying and holding Bitcoin till now, because if you do that means that you've made a very wise and profitable investment decision. Bitcoin in it's nature is volatile, so even if there's price instability for a while, experience shows that it'll overcome it and start to pump or dump. With the anticipation of the coming bull run since last year should've been an indicator to you that despite Bitcoin price instabilities then that along the way that it's price will continue to rise because of the coming bull season. If you stopped then it's not too late now to start as price is estimated to hit $100 by the end of this year.
1428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why crime are on the rise daily on: January 12, 2024, 07:54:48 AM

To be honest, I believe it would better for people not to have children if they know they cannot provide them with food, education and shelter, but unfortunately uin developing countries sometimes having several children is perceived as a way to keep the family going. Anyways, I am not an expert at this, it would be better to ask a sociologist or someone who is expert at this kind of phenomenon for us to understand it better.

Also, that case you talk about a local tribe in your locality is quite disturbing, it is something I would have expected the government to intervene in somehow...it sounds like criminal neglect.

There are many reasons why crime is on the increase these days, but I want to focus on population explosion, this is a major factor of the increase in crime, as far as I know. It will sound ridiculous but poor men actually have more than 10 children, especially in the tribe that the OP is talking about, they're illiterates and destitute, all they do is keep producing babies. Their kids will go about constituting nuisance in the society, begging and stealing, also being used to commit various criminal activities. I think that the government is addressing the matter now. So I totally agree that parents should give birth to the number of children that they can carter for, and try as much as possible to give them good foundation so that they'll grow up to be responsible citizens. Children that are not properly brought up are far more likely to become criminals than those that were properly raised and thought good manners.
1429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scams flourish most during bull runs. on: January 12, 2024, 06:03:29 AM
I think it doesn't matter if we are in a bull run or bearish trend, scammers will be scammers. Although it is just magnified in the bull run as there are a lot of newbie investors and this is the target of this cyber criminals and scammers.

So it's very important and I think this is the number 1 thing that every crypto investors need, educate themselves on every project that they put their hard earn money. And as we have said before, “If it is too good to be true it probably is". Meaning, if the offer appear too ideal or promising, it's wise to approach them with a degree of skepticism and investigate further.

It's true that scammers don't take breaks they operate everyday of the year looking for victims to steal from, but Bitcoin bull run season is also a boom season for them to scam more people because many newbie investors will enter the market. As the OP has stated areas to watch out for it's important for anybody that's looking to make the most of the bull season to be very cautious and carry out thorough research before putting their money in any crypto projects, because scam projects will be on the increase. The Bitcoin ETF approval is a new angle that scammers will also utilize to scan victims because the concept is new to most crypto users, it is an area that should be very well researched so scammers will not tell you make believe stories to steal from you.
1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF approved, next Ethereum ETF? on: January 12, 2024, 05:07:32 AM
As we all know, the Bitcoin ETF is already approved. So, do you think the next ETF for Ethereum will be approved as well? Many companies, including BlackRock, have filled the Ethereum ETF as well. I believe the line is already clear to approve the Ethereum ETF since the SEC gave green light to the Bitcoin ETF. We have noticed significant price movements on Ethereum since Bitcoin EFT was approved. I don't see any reason not to approve the Ethereum ETF as well. The deadline is May for the Ethereum ETF. We have to wait for that. What's your thoughts about Ethereum ETF?

Truly, there have been fiings for Ethereum ETF last year as well and since Bitcoin ETF has been approved, it will pave an easier way for Ethereum. Ethereum which has more scalability and utility just like other traded securities should be passed speedily and successfully and approved. The time of approval is still somewhat far, so let's see the drama the SEC and the market would do before then. But nothing can be as shaky as that of Bitcoin, Bitcoin shuck the entire cryptocurrency market with this ETF of a thing and I am glad that it eventually ended in celebration. Others shouldn't have issues with approval, especially those with good projects and popularity like Ethereum.

Bitcoin has paved the way for Ethereum speedy approval, so I don't see Ethereum having any delays when it reaches it's deadline in May, it has the potentials of getting it's ETF without further delays. I think that the outcome of Bitcoin ETF can play a major role when it's the turn of Ethereum ETF, it's success will have a positive impact on the side of the US SEC, to approve for Ethereum, without any delays. Big names like blackrock, are already in line for Ethereum, so I'm quite positive that Ethereum don't need to go through the rigors of Bitcoin before getting the green light.
1431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in meme coins is worthy or not? on: January 11, 2024, 07:12:59 PM
Investing in meme coins is worthy or not?

I've literally heard about hundreds of different memo projects but have really only seen a handful get massive FOMO, so the view I've always held with these things is that they're gambling. When talking about opportunities to make big profits, don't ignore risks, and risks often account for more. So honestly, if you are ready for that, just make your own decision without depending on anything,, inherently, risks, contain opportunities but don't be too blind to greed, and you will get lucky.

Investing in memecoins can be likened to gambling, you make your pick, put money in it and accept whatever outcome that you get, they're an easy way to get very fast returns on a very short time and they also carry the risk of losing your money in scam projects. So it depends on individual investor risk tolerance, if they have the appetite for it then it's ok to give a shot at one, but let them remember to atleast carry out some reasonable research about their choice meme and invest the amount that they can afford to loose.

1433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Things in Binance Under New CEO - What are your thoughts? on: January 11, 2024, 02:50:06 PM
There has not been any huge difference except back to back listing of coins, CZ was more proactive and it would be too early to conclude on Richard Tang but right now there would be more pressure of centralized exchanges as we have seen regulators tightening their noose around CEX, Apple app store removing Binance from Indian market and how Richard Teng deals with this would define his credibility.

It's still quite early to judge or conclude the performance and impact of the new CEO Richard Teng, I think that Binance is still running the way CZ left it, except for a few changes like the listing of some new tokens. CZ worked so hard to build Binance to be the number one crypto exchange, and I think that Mr. Teng, must be the right man for the job, if not he wouldn't have been appointed. Although it's still quite early to know whether he can fit very well in his new position, whether Binance will still retain it's number one position will soon unfold under his new leadership.
1434  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 11, 2024, 12:43:42 PM

2. Live on one source of income. Everyday of our life our responsibilities and challenges keeps piling up accumulating without consideration to our financial capability. The economy and cost of living continue getting worsen. So in order not to be able to beat this piling settle comfortably on a single source of income flow.

3. Become an extremely cheerful giver/lender to friends and family. A wisdom quote I read somewhere said, "if you want to lose your friends and family lend them money".  Keeping doing this and you going to be successfully poor.

You gave very good tips to the road to becoming a failure, and it is quite easy, all the individual has to do is follow them or simply do nothing, they all lead to the same destination. I perticularly singled out numbers 2 and 3, they're very remarkable, follow them and the individual will not only become poor but with an extra bargage of having enemies.

In our present world today the cost of a comfortable lifestyle is quite expensive and most incomes can not meet up the demands of goods and services that keeps increasing, so depending on one source of static income can not continue to carter for the increasing cost of living. Without an alternative source of income the earner is inviting poverty.

People have learnt from bitter experiences not to reveal their true financial status to family and friends, because if they know your true worth, most of them will keep coming back for more loans or free money. If you don't give you'll become an enemy and if you give and they don't pay back, when you complain you'll likely still become an enemy. It's better to give the amount that you can afford to loose, unless you're planning to become poor.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 10:53:47 AM
Women are not good in gambling but they are very good in the managerial position of the casino or the gambling company. They are good in recording and booking games for gamblers. Though I ha e seen female gamblers but they are not active, and smart like men. And the number of worn who gamble which o have seen are few. And I have also seen female in the casino halls as cashiers or sport bookmakers.

Though women can gamble but they can't bench men in gambling. They are some men that even like to sleep I'm the gambling hall.

I doubt that women can make better gamblers than men because of their nature, women are more tender and can easily break down emotionally if they experience loses, but they're good in managerial positions, if you give most of them money to manage in the home or community they have that motherly instinct to be able to use the money prudently to carter for the needs at hand. But when it comes to taking the risks that is involved in providing the money, with all due respect to them, I'll say that men takes the lead. Therefore gambling is risky and it takes guts to bet your money on something that you can't know the outcome, and by nature men are better equipped to take and withstand the pressures risks without showing too much emotions.
1436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does this Qualifies you to give non-professional or semi-professional financial on: January 11, 2024, 09:49:01 AM

Yes, with the utmost sense of humility, I think I can unarguably pass as a semi-professional financial advisor on Bitcoin (cryptos) matters to people. Even as a TA person, one can still have an idea (may not actually end up going there, anyway) where price could be going as it's mostly affected by fundamentals/news. Right now, it's safe to say that what's driving Bitcoin is fundamentals, given to the halving air which are somehow subject to quicken what TA could be showing.
This is what I thought too but then I am usually highly selective of people who I give these type of semi-professional advice to. Once I perceive that the individual is liberal, has an open mind and is receptive to learning, I do so unreservedly. But if the individual is one of those conservatives , that is hard of learning and wants nothing more than prove to me that they have a better financial knowledge and experience than myself, I withdrawal from giving any advice.

I think that without being too technical in analyzing Bitcoin, that I can give advice, atleast regarding it's investment, the basic thing is be informed about the best time to buy, which is when there's price dip, during bear run, begin to accumulate till bull run and decide to sale or keep holding. So it's to follow the fundamental analysis and understand the market trends, being an investor in Bitcoin is not that complex, especially if the person is holding on a long term.

I wouldn't go near giving Bitcoin or any altcoin professional trading advice to anybody, because I'm yet to aquire enough knowledge about their analysis, whatever advice that I can give based on my knowledge so far, I'd have to tell the person to carry out their own research before deciding to make any trading decisions.
1437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Between placing a wife on monthly allowance and opening business for her on: January 11, 2024, 08:24:56 AM
I think that men by nature likes to take care of their wives by providing for every of her needs, and when they start to have children she'd be managing the home while he provides money and protection for them. But due to the high demands of the society, a better standard of living, to afford a comfortable lifestyle costs money, and most men are not able to meat up this demands, so it becomes necessary in most cases that the wife is established to be making financial inputs in the family.

Traditionally it's the sole responsibility of the man to provide for the family, but because of too much financial burden on the man and because of modernization it has become a normal thing for women to work and support their families. If I'm super rich I'll encourage my wife not to work and concentrate on taking care of the family, but I'm not rich, so because of that I'll encourage her to work and support the family.
1438  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: January 11, 2024, 06:41:46 AM
No, I don't have a hard time because I don't even try to convince anyone of anything related to Bitcoin. If I hear someone talking about it I play dumb. The less people know that I have Bitcoin, the better. And the less I would even think of talking about it while traveling around. You want to put a bull's eye on yourself.

This is the approach that I've taken now, I hold my Bitcoin in peace and do every cryptocurrency related activities without any advertisements, because people who don't understand Bitcoin unfortunately likens it to Ponzi or some scam project and I'd have a hard time trying to explain that it's not true. I was very enthusiastic about preaching Bitcoin to friends, but I never got any positive response, so i eventually gave up, I even removed the signboard in front of my shop, advertising that I collect Bitcoin as payments, because nobody did. The few friends that I told about this forum then where more interested about how soon they'll start to earn from campaigns, they lose interest when I tell then the slow process. I can only discuss Bitcoin with anybody if I see genuine interest in them.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 11, 2024, 05:46:52 AM
Bitcoin ETF has been approved which is a good new for other Altcoin as well. As we all know, since Bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurrencies if there is a significant increase in the price of Bitcoin it will also affect the price of other cryptocurrencies. For instance if by the end of the year Bitcoin hit the target of $100k definelty other altcoins will experince a huge increase in their price. Bitcoin bull run is as well altcoin bull run.

My candid advises to people who do not have the opportunity to buy bitcoin, is to find an altcoin that they can buy and hodl. If it is difficult to know which altcoin to buy, then I'll just list a few here i think i can spend some bucks on. They include Solana, Ethereum, BnB and Doge.

Let's put some effort and hope for the best to happen.

The long awaited SEC approval of Bitcoin ETF has finally happened, a good news for Bitcoin investors, although there was news about the approval being fake news yesterday, but I'm glad that it's behind us now. I'm hoping that it lives up to the it's hype since last year and make Bitcoin to be more profitable, because there shouldn't be anything holding it to reach the $100 mark.

Investing in top Altcoins should be profitable too now because investors will want to take the advantage of the Bitcoin pumping to bull run and also be happy to take advantage of them, because they'll also bull run too. I agree with the potentials of the top altcoins that you mentioned, especially Ethereum, which investors are tipping to make massive impact like Bitcoin. Although I've decided to put all my eggs in one basket in this bull run, it's only Bitcoin for me.
