No tutorial necessary.
1422  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: wild and unsubstantiated speculation about BFL's power woes on: April 06, 2013, 03:01:34 AM
it is entirely possible they did not even use a 65nm processor node, just something to think about.

...BUH...BUH...BUT...that would be dishonest!?! I'm sure Sonny V would never head up a company that would do such a thing. Just keep the lottery tickets away from him.

Anyway JZ says they're 65nm full custom unicorn blood superchips and we all know what *his* word is worth.
1423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this right? BFL, rig should I buy? on: April 06, 2013, 02:48:20 AM
ASICMiner has been threatening to sell hardware at auction and ship immediately. Like Avalon they actually have confirmed working chips...currently gobbling up 12% of Bitcoins minted at 7Th. I'd look into that before I threw a nickel at BFL.
1424  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: April 3 BFL ASIC update. on: April 06, 2013, 01:42:11 AM
the 1.5THs isnt out of stock.  BFL simply cannot make it work cause they're a bunch of monkies over there.

Maybe it's because they banned private ownership of thermonuclear weapons?  Wink

This made me laugh so much. Thank you.

Oh wow OMG I had a riot of a laugh at that. Maybe North Korea should buy some BFL units. Think of the mega-tonnes of explosive power they would wield!!!

I know right?!? BFL could even toss in a side order of JZ troll rage if the North Koreans order in bulk.
1425  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: April 06, 2013, 01:37:49 AM
Yeah, but I'm really not concerned that they'll try to screw me out of the order. I'm just concerned they'll ship it to the wrong place or it'll be sent back to China before I'm notified that there's a problem.

lol I even ordered a batch 3 unit and then publicly told Yifu to send my batch 2 order to the same shipping address as my batch 2 order, since their system for batch 3 orders works properly. Smiley Just don't want my mining company's money machine being driven aimlessly around the country by the DHL dood man. Me want it in me grubby paddy paws.

That didn't sound right...
1426  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: April 06, 2013, 01:28:02 AM
Many that ordered during the cluster on Feb 2/3 did not receive a receipt from Avalon. I did not. I confirmed my order with Walletbit and supposedly that's good enough. The only thing that shows up when I check my account is my batch 3 order.

Quite the clusterfuck that was. Well, then I guess you and he should be all set as long as walletbit has the proper personal info (shipping address).

That's actually the problem, no way to tell for certain. The walletbit receipts don't have shipping address confirmations only TXIDs, batch #s, payment amounts, and payment dates. I've entered personal information at walletbit and at Avalon store, but without anything coming back to confirm...well it's disconcerting. One single email confirming shipping address and I'd sleep better, but it's not going to happen at this point.

LTC payout no longer working either. Sad

whoa, whoa people! I don't want to ruin your party here, but still not everyone got their avalons in batch 1. So it took them nearly 2 months to ship most of them. You hope batch 2 will be faster? Please state why (no trolling implied, honest)

There's no Chinese New Year in the middle

And experience improves operations

...and because:

We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April. Not all the news is bad news however, originally around this period we are suppose to take this time to organize, make some changes and install a brand new SMT line in our facility. This upgrade will effectively double our production capacity, it enable us to put Avalon into the hands of our customer even faster. The new line is currently scheduled to come online during the last week of April. We expect batch two and three to ship much faster than batch one mainly there is no Chinese New Year and we have overcome the problems encountered in shipping batch one.

Time will tell I guess, but these guys are the only ones to deliver thus far.

I dunno, there's a small skeeeery spike in ASICMiner's hashrate graph today.

Could you point to me where you can see ASICMiner's hashrate? I've heard they plan to have 1000Thash/sec by the end of the year :O

I heard 400000000000000000000000000000Th.

Actually they're hoping to add another 256Th last I heard. 7Th online now another 5Th in chips on hand, 50ish coming this month/early May and 200Th of chips on order, but they're also planning to auction hardware. It was unclear if those chips would come from their most recent 200Th chip order. Anyway some of the guys put up a googledoc here:

Im fine w/ a delay as long as BFL proportionally is delayed that much longer =P

I dunno, there's a small skeeeery spike in ASICMiner's hashrate graph today.

BFL? pffft...whatev, bunch of monkeys fvcking footballs over there. My postal worker is scarier. Tongue
1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: April 05, 2013, 09:11:51 PM
Sure it's easy to prove. Just look at the killawatt. BTC mining is essentially unaffected by memory speed so make that as low as possible and the power consumption of your GPUs drops.

Too much is made of the difference quite often IMO, but then my electricity rates are pretty reasonable.
1433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: April 05, 2013, 08:44:22 PM
um he stated in a news update a few weeks ago batch 2 will ship mid / late april and mostly early may.

Okay captain buzzkill...you may go! Tongue
1434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 08:42:14 PM
either way i cant talk rationally to people like this because if you still doubt they have product after this point with luke-jrs unit hashing as we speak on his pool, theres no other proof they can supply you other than a shipped product. i'll agree that its still risky if they will ship at all, but again thats my risk to take.

Actually there's a ton of proof they could've provided, see Jeff Garzik's review of an actual shipped and received ASIC mining product for reference if you're confused...THAT'S how you eradicate any doubt. Whatever happened between JZ and Luke Jr. it lacks the credibility and clout of Garzik's Avalon unpacking utterly.

When did you start talking rationally on this subject btw?

WalletBit confirming the purchase

You are good. They have repeatedly said if you got Walletbit confirmation then you are good to go. Hopefully they hire some help soon so their ticket system is no longer a black hole...

Yep that's what I got from Yifu, so I stopped bugging him. Trusting them not to ship my batch 2 to Afghanistan.
1436  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 07:51:11 PM
What is the similar conclusion? sorry msutve missed that. How can they conclude anything if they havent built a bitcoin asic?

Wait didn't yifu of avalon concede they are close? Dunno, hes the only guy that would know sine he has a product.

And i could give less of a shit what other people do. In fact i rather people not buy it! its competition for my current and future mining returns.

Yifu isnt an engineer btw.

Hes just trolling you guys. Saying 1.2 month and all. Next thing i expect him to say is...0.6 week from shipping Batch 2

The Avalon guys were bang on when they pointed out where they felt BTCFPGA and BFL were with their vaporware production efforts in the past. While Ngzhang is the tech guru over there Yifu is no dummy and he's probably getting his info from the man. I'd not quickly dismiss what either of the Avalon guys have to say.
1437  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 05, 2013, 05:18:41 PM
Bottomline, I don't believe a scammer tag is warranted for any parties pertaining to this episode based on this debacle alone, nor believe Luke to be an employee of BFL, but something definitely is much more sinister afoot here.

That's likely to be the case wherever the merry band of crooks over at BFL are involved.
1438  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 04:49:08 PM
I had the same thoughts and missed out on the avalon preorders. BFL at least has pics of boxes with fans, the chips, the working unit hashing. First time someone saw an Avalon and knew it hashed was after it shipped to  jeff. So i'm content to gamble on bfl for now.

Best of luck. You do realize people sent BFL 5000 Bitcoins to pre-order minirigs in June of 2012 right? Those bitcoins would now be worth $695,000 now and the product is not only undelivered TEN MONTHS LATER, but it's been cancelled because BFL cannot even build it. Now that's what I'd call a sh1t sandwich.

A bet on BFL is a proven loser again and again.
1439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 04:20:11 PM
Simply because is seems they now have all the components now. Sounded like they were throwing in the towel to achieve original power hash specs and will ship with what they got. Prices raised to deal with increased pcb and chip costs. Businesses do that to keep profit margin steady when input costs go up. That's how i interpreted this whole change. But hey who am i to complain, i asked for them to raise prices on thier forum lol.

Raise their prices on WHAT? Exactly?
1440  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 05, 2013, 04:10:25 PM
Do i think they will start shipping within a month. yep.

What are your reasons for thinking this?

+1

Have they requested FPGA trade-ins be returned yet? Nope.

How many times must BFL crooks lie about shipping dates before people stop assigning anything they say any credibility at all? Really.
