1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: November 01, 2023, 04:50:20 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.
The only way to do that is through their KYC, the casino can opt to do KYC after the signup or if the players are cashing out, there is no way for an online casino to trace or know the age of those who sign up to their platform, they can only take action if they can prove that the one playing is really underage and this is through KYC.
Usually, the casino will ask its users to do KYC when the user wants to cash out and has exceeded the daily withdrawal limit. And it's like the casino gets underage people who have gambled at the casino, but they can't withdraw their money because the casino rejected the KYC problem. But if underage users only gamble moderately and do not exceed the limits, they may not be asked to do KYC by the casino. The casino will never know whether the users are minors or adults before the casino asks them to do KYC. Everything will be visible during the KYC process, but there may be underage children who use the identities of adults around them so they can pass the verification process. If that's the case, it seems that casinos need to implement online checks or live verification on their users to find out whether they are really adults or minors.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: November 01, 2023, 04:23:27 PM
I think that is what happens to many gamblers when they deposit some money and start gambling. But suddenly the money ran out, and they decided to deposit the money again, but this time maybe more than the previous one, but again they lost. It has already used up the amount of money they deposited that day, and we don't seem to realize it if we deposited the money twice into our gambling account. This is where we have to remain self-aware that when we deposit money for the first time that day, we know that we really want to gamble. Whatever happens, we will not deposit another amount of money because it might exceed the limit we have set. Again, this is about limiting ourselves in depositing money into our gambling account so that we don't exceed that limit.
1423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: November 01, 2023, 03:46:29 PM
here we should be able to differentiate between gambling and addiction. whatever it is, if you are addicted, the impact will not be good for yourself and the people around you. gambling will not affect our relationships or other things if we play normally and can limit ourselves. but if it has entered the addiction stage it will clearly damage ourselves and affect our relationships with the people around us, including our wife or children.
If so, we must control our gambling activities so that we know whether we have started to become addicted to gambling or whether we are still within the limits of reasonableness so that we can still gamble while remaining careful. If everything is still under our control, we will not have any problems with gambling, and of course, it will not have a bad effect on our relationships with the people around us. For this reason, we must continue to learn about self-control and not lose self-control because that will cause many problems to happen to us and the people around us.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: November 01, 2023, 03:17:54 PM
It's not about being lengthy. Even if it had only five line terms and conditions, most of us wouldn't even bother to read them. We just don't, we are just lazy, admit it. And it's not just casinos that have huge terms and conditions. Almost everything has it, even the software we use on our PC or laptop. Have you ever read the Windows terms and conditions when you installed it for the first time? I think not.

What you suggested, lastly, is the right approach. Casinos may assume that we don't read their TOS. But even if we don't, they should give us notice that they changed their TOS, and we should read that in order to keep the loss to a minimum.
Yes, we are too lazy to take the time to read the requirements and regulations at the casino, so many people experience problems just because they don't pay attention to the casino rules. That is something we have to do if we want to register at any casino, including the most popular casinos, so that later, we will not experience any problems. If we can pay attention to the rules of the casino, we can avoid unnecessary mistakes so that we can withdraw the money smoothly. Usually, this will appear when we want to withdraw money from our gambling account.

Trusted casinos try to notify all their members if there are changes to their TOS so that all their customers can read what the TOS changes are. And its members won't blame the casinos either because they already know the rules are changing.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: November 01, 2023, 02:52:08 PM
I think it completely depends on each person individually.  Everyone is a bit different in how they handle and or spend their money when they've got a lot of it.  A lot of people worked hard for that moeny and aren't willing to just give it up so easily.  Others may have worked hard but have no problem gambling with it, as perhaps that's how they became to have so much money on hand, taking gambles in life.
If they have worked hard to make a lot of money, they will probably appreciate their hard work more and will not spend their money on things they don't need. If they are used to gambling but have self-control, they will not use a lot of money to gamble because they feel that the money is for their family and not for gambling. But if someone doesn't have good self-control, they could use a lot of money, maybe even all their money, to gamble to fulfil their desire. And it's true, it depends on each person. But those of us who already know the impact of gambling and the temptation of gambling may not choose to use a lot of money to gamble.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the cash-out feature only available in sports bets? on: November 01, 2023, 02:27:35 PM
Aside from Stake's mines game, you can also find the cashout feature in their hilo and crash games. The others already mentioned the main reason why most casinos don't use it in their games and it's due to the way these games work. It's unnecessary, and most games don't have an in-between point similar to a crash game where you can cash out during the process.
As far as I know, the cash-out feature is only available in sports betting and not available in other gambling games. If you want to withdraw the profits, you need to press the withdrawal link and determine the amount of money you want to withdraw. Even though in Stake, there is a HiLo game, it is different from the cash out in sports betting because in the HiLo game, when someone presses the Cashout button, he will stop the game round. He will start a new round again, where he has to place his bet. But for sports betting, even if we press the Cashout button, it won't stop the match, likewise with the Crash game. But I don't know, perhaps I'm wrong on this, so I apologize.
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 01, 2023, 01:42:49 PM
you are lucky to have a friend who can remind you before you go too far to chase your losses, sometimes someone feels out of control when they have spent so much money gambling but don't get the profits they expected, maybe many people have a fate like yours who have lost all their savings and possessions to satisfy their lust for gambling.

Yes, I think if at that time I borrowed money from the bank and spent that money again on gambling, maybe my life would be ruined and worse. Even though my savings had run out, at that time I still felt lucky because my friend insisted on reminding me not to borrow money from the bank. We argued all night about this, until finally I did what my friend said
You really have a good friend because you are still trying to remind yourself not to borrow money from the bank. If you meet other friends, perhaps they won't want to remind you but will encourage you to borrow money from the bank, and they will also ask for a small share because they "helped" you decide. You have to listen to your friends who have tried hard to convince you not to borrow money from the bank, and following what your friends say can also make you aware to start reducing your gambling activities. This is a valuable lesson for you, especially if you spend money in savings. Now is the time to really reduce your gambling, and if possible, you need to leave gambling forever.

I think this algorithm of emotions works if a person has an addiction (of varying degrees), because if you take simple human instincts/logic, then if you win something, then you need to take it and run away. If you lose, all the more you need to run away because losses are harmful and a person always wants to avoid losses. That is why the main efforts of the casino are aimed at ensuring that players remain in the game for as long as possible because this will cause them to become addicted.
That's what we have to do when gambling, but unfortunately, that's not the case because what happens is that if someone loses, he will tend to continue gambling by depositing his money again if he has run out of money. If he still had money, he would probably use all his money to try to recover his losses. But he didn't have a bigger chance because this was a gamble where one wouldn't be able to win easily. They must accept that they have lost, and it is better to end the gambling game and rest immediately. By doing this, at least they have reduced their desire to continue gambling and can think about what has happened to them so that they can control their gambling more in the future.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: November 01, 2023, 01:10:32 PM

I definitely agree with this.

It's really important to be firm on your goal before entering gambling industry. If you only want to gamble for fun, set limitations so that you won't get addicted in the process of betting in playing. Remember your obligations and responsibilities not only as a gambler, but being a person in general. If you already have a family, always remember to put them first. Your duties as a parent and as a spouse will come before gambling, which means that you must take care of your household above anything else before indulging on your gambling habits. This is to avoid having problems and challenges regarding financial matters because let's admit, gambling involves money, and money matter is a serious one since it can affect relationships, lifestyle, and well-being.

Losses can be managed if you are disciplined - you'll know when to stop. So rather impulsively chasing the winning prize or trying to recover your many losses, do risk assessment first to know whether it's worth the hassle and money.
Gambling must have limits so that we can be responsible gamblers and not exceed what we can afford. But everything will change when we have a family because our focus should be on family and not gambling, but unfortunately, this is not a concern for many gamblers out there. They gamble more and more often because they want to make more money from gambling, so they decide to gamble. But those who have such intentions will not have a big chance because they will experience more defeats. If they don't immediately realize it, they will only regret it, especially if they end up using the money for their family. They will no longer be able to meet their family's needs because all their money has been used for gambling.

That is why we have to learn to control ourselves as well as possible because if not, we will not be able to control ourselves when gambling. And when we lose, we will not be able to stop gambling and can instead try to recover from losses, which will never be easy to achieve.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: November 01, 2023, 12:57:11 PM
Gambling for financial increase has always been the wrong approach to gambling because bit only increase your despiration and reduce how logical you think and manage your fund, you become reckless with your stakes and risk, most times you forget the entertainment that comes with gambling.

Tell this to people who have come to the conclusion that gambling is now an employment opportunity that regular income can be earned from. Gambling for an increase in your income is definitely a wrong approach and it would only increase your dependency on gambling in order to acquire more income.
Addiction creeps in slowly and without the individual realizing it, he’s already languishing in addiction and then it would be difficult to recover from. When the money to be made is foremost in your mind, then the entertainment purposes is quickly forgotten.
If people continue to use gambling as a job opportunity, they will not be successful, at least for most of them. They will only experience disappointment and may also experience prolonged frustration because what they do cannot produce the results they want. But if they are willing to look for other ways to find work, they may have a better chance of making money because if they can get a job, that means they can get a salary. And this salary can be used for many things, including meeting his living needs. We may have seen the effects of gambling from what we experienced, namely losing money at the gambling table, and we also couldn't recover the loss even if we tried. It will only increase the number of losses so that we will be even more frustrated. So forget about wanting to recover those losses. Otherwise, you will experience more severe effects from gambling that you may not be able to accept.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: November 01, 2023, 12:31:58 PM
~snip~
One of the things that can make them not chase past losses is in my opinion by realizing themselves that whatever the final result is natural because gambling will always refer to luck, but yes I understand it is very difficult to be able to achieve this awareness because of their mindset that has been disturbed by all the temptations in gambling.

For those who are already addicted, it is basically very difficult to justify their mindset, even though they have suffered many losses but still they are chasing victory, they think that the more experiments they do it will make the chances of winning closer but in fact the number of defeats is getting bigger. Of course, with results like that, their emotions are even more increasing and the situation is getting hotter. For those who always say "I have prepared self-control" honestly I will not fully believe it because it is not necessarily that they will be able to do that if the situation is already hot meaning they are very emotional and usually what happens is that they will do anything to be able to satisfy their lust such as depositing more money in gambling.

That's right, we have to be responsible gamblers, if you have won then you should immediately go and enjoy the money, and also if you have lost today then yes don't chase the victory because there is no guarantee to recover.
It is very difficult to realize that if they want to recover from their losses, they will not have a bigger chance because of the possibility of an even bigger defeat. They must at least be aware and not try to recover from their defeat and be willing to accept their loss. After all, they should gamble just for fun in their free time and not intend to make money from gambling.

Those who have experienced gambling addiction but still realize that they are addicted to gambling should be able to think that even if they try to recover their previous losses, they will not be able to get close to that amount of losses and will only increase their losses even bigger. They must really master self-control, and until they can master it, they shouldn't gamble in the first place. But it's not easy because there will be an urge to keep gambling, and if they still can't control themselves, they will return to gambling and will eventually become worse gambling addicts.

By being responsible gamblers, we will not worry about gambling problems because we do not use gambling as a place to make money but just to have fun. If we win, it is a bonus, and if we lose, it is a risk that we will face and accept.

Exactly, I have several experience, lets say, when I made a $30 deposits, I'm lose just in few hours. Because no money to playing morr, so I was stopped playing. But, after I claimed $4 rebate, I get $25 winning, this is something can be a lesson for us, no matter how much our money, win will come anytime if we are on luck season. But, chasing lose for winning, maybe we will get nothing when we are on bad luck season.
Yes, when the time is right, the win will come by itself, and we don't need to chase after that win because it means we are taking even greater risks because of that loss. It's better if we just enjoy gambling as entertainment and don't pursue anything from gambling because it won't be easy for us. By continuing to gamble with full self-control, we will not get into any problems, and we can achieve our goal of using gambling for entertainment.

Correct. I believe some people can really underestimate the power addictions have over the will power of people, that "solution" about simply letting addicted people to run out of money does not make any sense, otherwise addiction to gambling would not be a social problem anywhere and people would rehabilitate themselves as soon as they see their wallet completely empty, because their actions.
In reality, when a seriously addicted individual realizes he does not have any money of his own left, resorts on adquiring debts, stealing, commiting fraud... We have even seen some news here in the forum of someone who was willing to kidnap their own family member for money to keep up gambling.
That vision of the world and how addictions work is very idealistic. I would wish it worked that way, this planet would have less evil.
That will be a bigger problem than just the gambling addiction problem that we usually find because if that is what a gambling addict does, he will get problems that he never imagined because of his gambling addiction. He really had to cure himself of his gambling addiction so he wouldn't experience bigger problems. However, the problem of gambling addiction has become a more serious problem, especially amid modern technology like the one we now enjoy, where someone who often gambles becomes someone who enjoys gambling and becomes a gambling addict without realizing it. That is why we must be able to control ourselves and limit ourselves from gambling because once we are addicted to gambling, it will take a long time, which we don't know for sure, to cure gambling addiction.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: October 31, 2023, 09:44:04 PM
It is very hard to quit gambling, it takes time to minimize gambling but quitting totally is not an easy decision to take, this is why it is advisable for people with poor decision to avoid gambling don't even gamble because it's effect might ruin your life, remember a chronic gambler can do anything to gamble, even though it takes him to sell his valuable asset a lesser amount to gamble he wouldn't mind because he believe that he can replace one he win and even gamble more with the remaining profit, I will say quitting gambling is very difficult, this will occur by the grace of God that's if the person is ready and willing to change.
Accurately quitting gambling might take some time, but it is not difficult. It was a day a person to decide to start gambling and it will also take one day for a person to decide to stop gambling. The problem is not in the addictiveness of the gambler it's on the discipline of the person. A lot of gamblers lack discipline even when gambling they don't know when to pause or continue gambling. There are few who have discipline, they know when to bet, continue betting or stop and bet another day. Thise set of persons can actually decide to stop gambling because of their high disciplinary level and it will not be difficult for them. I quitted a lot of bad habit, and it wasn't difficult for me. When I noticed that those things were not benefiting me rather reducing my productivity, I have to stop them.
This is only possible when you are not addicted, once a person is in that state leaving their addiction is incredibly difficult, and this is because they have developed a physiological need towards their addiction, so this is not really a problem of discipline or will anymore, this is a problem that needs to be deal with incredible care by professionals that understand how to get a person to detox and teach them how to come to terms with all the bad things they did during the period in which they were addicted.
Yes, it is very difficult to stop gambling addiction without the gambling addict's desire because it will depend on him. If he really wants to cure his gambling addiction, he must show the people around him, especially his family, that he is serious about wanting to stop gambling for good so that his family can understand and help him to cure his gambling addiction. Gambling addicts have to go through many therapy sessions to be able to cure their gambling addiction. But if he doesn't have a gambling addiction, maybe it's not that big of a deal because he needs to create a new activity that will keep him busy so he doesn't think about gambling. They must remain disciplined in carrying out these new activities, and if necessary, they can add other things to do so that they can be busy all day and will not think about gambling.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: October 31, 2023, 09:22:15 PM
I don't think I have become a gambling addict even though I still often gamble, but I have used a lot of money to gamble many times. I have not said that I am a gambling addict because I can still stop myself from gambling for a few days or weeks. A gambling addict will not be able to leave gambling for long because his desire to return to gambling is too strong, and if he is away from home and not gambling, he feels he has to go home to continue gambling immediately. I don't remember how much I lost because I never recorded it and just gambled with the money I deposited. And now, I think I have changed a lot because I can limit the amount of money I use for gambling and don't gamble as often. You should also reduce your gambling activities because you have to improve the financial position that you have spent on gambling. And before it's too late, do it now or you will regret it.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Profit And Conscience on: October 31, 2023, 04:50:11 PM
Forget about partnering with a lottery outlet, and he'd better think about other ventures if he can't compete with large and popular grocery stores. That would be better for him than going against his conscience and morals because he had encouraged people around his shop to gamble and buy lottery tickets. At least, that's what I will do instead of feeling uncomfortable with the decisions I make. Often we are faced with decisions like that, and it will depend on our conscience and morals. If we only think about the benefits, please take the opportunity. But if there is resistance from within, it's best not to take it because it might make you regret renting out the shop. What decision did your friend make?
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: October 31, 2023, 04:33:45 PM
The house certainly designs so that their games are not profitable for the players in order to make their business run well. Usually each casino platform has a low probability of winning to make their gaming ecosystem more challenging for the players and to benefit them as well.
But even though it has a low probability, many people still gamble to make money. Most gamblers have the mindset that they will be able to make gambling their main/side job to earn money, which is a wrong mindset.
The desire to make money quickly is the driving force that motivates many people to gamble. I can not believe it. They may consider gambling as a primary/side job to make money. Why are they so naive? I need them to calculate how many monthly rewards they receive on average when gambling. Do they use the prize money enough for personal purposes or daily family activities? Or it's all just losses or luck with the initial capital? Those people should wake up. This is a game, not a job.
Yes, it does happen that way, but unfortunately, the more they lust to make money from gambling, they will never be able to make money because gambling is not a place to make money. They will only experience more and more losses, so they will have no money left. But that also won't make them stop gambling because their minds are already dominated by the desire to make money from gambling, plus there is a gambling addiction that has started to creep into them, which they are increasingly unable to control. Those who get the monthly prize may not be able to meet their family's daily needs because there is not much bonus money from the casino. They have to work from other places to really make money and not depend on gambling.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 31, 2023, 04:11:48 PM
I think it can happen, if someone has spent all their money then they don't have money to pay for a therapist or other medical care. However, in my opinion, the most effective medicine to stop gambling is when the person no longer has money. Gambling does not cause drug withdrawal effects like people who are addicted to drugs so it doesn't matter if someone doesn't gamble, they will still be healthy.

Gambling activities must be carried out with money, if someone does not have money then he cannot gamble. So that in the end a gambling addict will recover on his own when he no longer has any money
That doesn't guarantee that someone running out of money will stop gambling because he could just borrow money from someone else, and he really can. It is difficult to stop people who are already addicted to gambling from gambling, and this requires serious attention from themselves and also from the people around them. So if he didn't have anyone near him, perhaps he would never be able to heal himself. Unless he takes the initiative to do it for himself, then he will start looking for the right way to make himself more aware of what has happened to him.

Maybe he would try to contact the friends he used to have and ask for their help. If he still had good friends, they would come and help him immediately. But if not, he has to try alone, and if he can't, no one can help him. That means he has to rely on himself to recover from his gambling addiction, which will be hard for him.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: October 31, 2023, 03:51:46 PM
Gambling involves both greed and risk since your friend has bet he has taken risk because he has earned a lot. A person is not lucky every time he is really lucky even after betting so much no one can guarantee a win in gambling maybe he knows the right gambling strategies. An experienced gambler analyzes the market and takes risks. He probably has a lot of confidence that he will win this time so he is taking a risky bet so that he doesn't have to regret it later. Maybe he thinks that this kind of opportunity doesn't come often not everyone will take as much risk as your friend and everyone will cash out after winning.
Greed will always come to you, whatever the results you receive from gambling. If you win, greed will become even greater. And if you lose, greed will also tell you to play one more round, and if you still lose, greed will keep telling you to try again and again. People who do not control themselves will fall into the trap of greed, and they will not realize that it is a mistake they should avoid. At the same time, experienced gamblers will know that greed is already trying to tempt them, but they are not tempted to continue even if they lose. They better stop gambling for the day and leave the casino. Maybe they will return to the casino a few days later, but they don't try to recover their losses because they think that yesterday is over, and they now want to gamble for fun.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 31, 2023, 03:38:11 PM
I cannot provide a certainty to answer this kind of question. There may be times when you have to stop gambling sooner than expected depending on the family's financial condition. So far I have prioritized my family's needs, some of the remaining money from my income is used for investing and the other part I use for gambling. When my income starts to decrease, I will stop gambling. I made this choice so that the money that should be used for family needs is not taken for gambling.
Yes, the decision not to provide certainty about when we will stop gambling really depends on the family's financial condition. If the family's financial condition allows us to gamble, we may still gamble. But if not, maybe we will stop gambling earlier because we prioritize family, especially if we are married and have responsibilities. We cannot continue gambling even though we still feel we can gamble responsibly. Still, there is no guarantee we can remain like that because gambling can provide stronger temptations that can make us complacent and continue gambling without stopping. When we make decisions, we also have to look at what is happening around us to make the right decisions. But regarding gambling, the sooner we can stop or reduce gambling activities, the less the family finances will be affected.
1440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: October 31, 2023, 03:13:30 PM
I don't know what other people believe, but in my opinion, every win that occurs in gambling, not everything is pure luck, there are other factors that influence it, one of which is our belief and also our skills. every part that happens in your life, there is God who intervenes in it, so never take the small things that happen when you gamble lightly, humans do not live alone,
Chance based gambling games are based on probability.  Its result random and the bet or winnings is a merely coincidence if one does not believe on luck.  While games based on skill like prediction on sports betting and poker games relies more on skill, there is a bit luck on this but the skill takes the greater percentage to win the bet.

When it comes to luck religion like Christianity does not recognize the word since they are more keen on faith for blessings and grace.  With these, I believe that spirituallity and betting have no connection at all.  Even the power of the mind can't alter the result of gambling.
Indeed, there is God's intervention in everything, including gambling, so if we lose, it means God does not allow us to win because maybe that will make us forget to control ourselves. God also wants to remind us that gambling is just entertainment. We cannot use gambling as a place to make money because gambling is not like that. But sports betting can give you victory if you have good analytical skills, and maybe you will win in that gambling game.

But all the things we do are written up there, along with the results we will receive. We often cannot accept the results and instead try to recover the losses. If this is the case, we are just wasting our money because it will be difficult for us to recover the loss.
