Most of your scenarios are not about bitcoin destruction, they are about bitcoin replacement or btc ban.
It`s important to know the difference between destrustion and replacement. Can bitcoin be destroyed? No,there`s no way, unless something destroys the human civilization. Can bitcoin be replaced?
Yes,i think that ethereum has the potential to replace btc,but as a digital payment method, not as a digital speculation asset.

I guess you think in scenarios suggested by the writer of this article, they certainly are not mine Smiley

I think that the issue of destruction or survival of BTC is very interesting topic among users of cryptocurrency, and for some even a replacement with some other currency would be equal to destruction in some way.As a first crypto coin BTC is always keep top place and this is always a challenge for other coins/developers to make something better, and for some others(governments, banks, financial institutions) to control it or to attempt to destroy it.

I can agree that the only way to complete destruction of BTC is some armageddon on Earth, caused by humans or nature.

Can Bitcoin Be Destroyed? 7 (Unlikely) Paths to Irrelevance

Before we get into the speculation, let's start with the facts – bitcoin has been declared dead more than 200 times.

Despite the fact that the world's first cryptocurrency has operated with near-100 percent uptime (for almost 10 years), it's still fashionable to predict its demise. Even supposedly smart people are known for propagating something I'll call "bitcoin derangement syndrome." They keep predicting bitcoin's demise even though they are daily proven wrong.

But if we assume that these individuals possess a level of intelligence, the only explanation for the failed predictions and emotional arguments is that they never take the time to study and understand how the system works.

In this way, I'd like to help by listing all the possible ways bitcoin could be destroyed.

Technically speaking, bitcoin will live as long as a handful of computers run the bitcoin software on a network. Only one extreme scenario would lead to annihilation. It is likely then that it will still be the top cryptocurrency in the coming years, unless the community destroys itself due to greed or carelessness.

14284  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum unable to sync for specific bitcoin address? on: January 29, 2018, 02:38:59 PM
Depending on which operating system you are using you can try to delete blockchain_headers file which is located here : http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html and then run Electrum and let it sync.It is possible that some of the files are corrupted since you eliminated a problem with synchronization.

Before you do anything be sure to have backup of your wallet files/seed.If deletion of blockchain_headers file does not help, you should try clean install of Electrum which means uninstallation of Electrum and deletion of Electrum folder with all data.

14285  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: My ATH price and marketcap website for review on: January 29, 2018, 11:56:17 AM
Hi guys,

I built a website which has the ATH price and marketcaps of most cryptocurrencies.
I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions!

https://athcoinindex.com

This is already 3 or 4 new site this type we see recently, but I can say that any site that show basic data about cryptocurrency can hardly compare with Coinmarketcap.

For athcoinindex.com I see you are focused on ATH data and you have nice statistic for that,I believe it will be useful to some users. As kevoh say try to add option to user can change background.I like option for browser and Telegram notifications.

You have nice start with your site, keep up the good work.
14286  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-28] Bitcoin bombshell: Cryptocurrency could hit $50,000 THIS YEAR on: January 29, 2018, 11:24:56 AM
Nothing new that we have not heard before, but 50 000$ it is still too much for this year in my personal opinion. But the beginning of the year can be tricky and in this moment price is far and away from 15 000$,so that this speculation may seem too excessive.

But I still believe there is something in that price range around 40 000$-50 000$ which some speculate(Mike Novogratz 40 000$),so I still leave the possibility that something like this can be achieved.Although in such speculation volatility is something which stand next to BTC as a major feature.

However even if price reaches that levels, correction will be unavoidable and it is anticipated that it could be about 50%.But I hope that with SegWit and LN, high fees and hundreds of thousands of unconfirmed transactions will not be a factor that will affect the price.
14287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good News=People's Interest=Bitcoin skyrocket again ? on: January 28, 2018, 04:21:58 PM
I am just a bit curious.
Will good news really trigger the prices to go upward?
Now, we are stable again like back in the start of 2017, then urges from start of August to the end of the year.

I am not into the price itself but still it tickles my mind which is the greatest factor that causes the huge fluctuations.

For sure traders are a bit having day offs since prices go down more often.

Some analyst says the next break out lies within Google.
Any thoughts ?

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/27/the-key-to-bitcoins-next-breakout-may-lie-in-google-search.html

Good news are very important for BTC price,as well as the bad news.We could see that many times in recent history of BTC.When price is going up like crazy in last year the media were full of good and promising news and they pump price to almost 20k$.People are exposed daily by news, and often make decisions which are based on news.

Regarding Google search,I think that it is normal that people search more for "bitcoin" in times when price was so high, and they search less these days. Some good news which can make price go up will certainly increase the search on Google, this is something like domino effect.
14288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Momentum Proves Weak OR Rising to 14,000$ on: January 28, 2018, 03:59:26 PM
I think it will take some time(maybe months) to see some significant changes in the price. This is usually the case at this time of year and it is follow a big drop which has happened recently. That was a big event who has been shaken the market very hard and it will take time for the market to recover after this. Many were burned at this time, and most will not go back anymore, dream about quick profit is finished at 10k drop, instaed 25k$ or 30k$ which many hoped it would happen.

There will be price increases like it was few times after big drop, but even rising to 14k$ does not mean too much at this time, the problem is that BTC can not maintain that level for long time.

14289  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-25] Even With Energy Surplus, Canada Unable to Meet Electricity Demands on: January 28, 2018, 03:15:36 PM
The bad news for miners and for cryptocurrency,Canada seems like a very good choice for mining farms because of favorable climate and how it seemed fairly favorable prices of electricity.I hope some miners will still get a chance there, and others will find some other places which will be able to meet their demands.

This news shows just how much electricity is consumed by crypto miners, and it is already a big problem. How to fix it,is there any chance to use solar&wind power for serious mining,is it even profitable nowadays?
14290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Raiblocks? Should you invest in Raiblocks? on: January 28, 2018, 02:44:14 PM
When I just think how much I sold them back in 2016 almost for nothing I could have thousands of them now.But I am happy with a few hundred which I recently discovered in almost forgotten RaiWallet.I almost sold them also, but something told me to keep some for future and I think it will be possible to profit nicely in the months to come.
14291  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Mistertango - Bitcoin friendly European Bank Account + free MasterCard on: January 27, 2018, 03:27:41 PM
Got my card yesterday. It arrived prety fast, after about 10 working days. I founded it with Bitcoins, smooth, fast and easy.
Looking forward to try it, hope that everything will function well.

I hope everything will work good, and that you post how satisfied you are with the total service.I see that verification of card and account requires using of mobile application,is that mobile app necessary for further use of service/MasterCard or can be removed from smartphone?

For users of Android phones, app requires Android version 4.4 and up.
14292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Raiblocks? Should you invest in Raiblocks? on: January 27, 2018, 11:54:13 AM
To be honest I thought that this coin is dead for a long time because it was very popular back in 2016 with distrubution through solving captcha. But more recently has again attracted attention with big price increase from 0.30$ to over 30$+ and reaching in top 20 currency on CoinMarket.

Developers are pretty active these days and working on new wallets(mobile&desktop),and to add XRB to more exchanges. It may be too early to say what is future of this coin, but I think it is worth to invest some money and check your old Rai wallets.

Transactions are instant and there is no fee, this is something users seek today-no doubt this coin will find its place in cryptoworld.

A Lot of Doge Faucets that are Written In your list , Give Much Less than Written.

I try to update value of rewards, but some faucets have automatic reward adjustment based on DOGE price and it is changed all time.Regardless of that I checked DOGE list 100% in last few days and it should be much better now.Maybe someone will ask why there is no more DOGE faucets on my list considering that FH DOGE list have 400+ of them-but the vast majority pay such low reward(0.005 DOGE or less)that really makes no sense to have them on list.

14294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XRB]Cryptocurrency's killer app: RaiBlocks micropayments on: January 27, 2018, 11:04:04 AM
Only one good exchange takes to increase volume almost 100% and increase price close to 20$,I wonder what will happen when finally Binance and some others listed XRB.I do not know what is withdraw/deposit fee on Kucoin, but I think developers need to make changes to be possible send/receive less amount then 1 XRB.It makes no sense to pay 1 XRB for withdraw fee as are some users say before.

Regarding rebranding, personally I like it as it is now,but it is still the decision of those behind the project.

14295  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Signing messages with multisig wallet? on: January 27, 2018, 10:44:23 AM
Thanks!

There seem to be single private keys associated with single addresses in the wallet, so I suppose exporting such a private key and creating another wallet with it could work?

You could try solution from HCP https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1989369.0 but if you ask me it is to complicated and probably not worth the time.Even if user succeed to sign message from multisig address there is problem with verification of such message. There is also problem with sign message with SegWit address, and this may be one of the reason why some people still refuse to use them.

I sent USDT to BCH bitcoin cash address, is there any way to recover this?
It is more than 10 days and nothing in both sides  Cry

Give us more info, from where you send USDT and what service/wallet you use for BCH?If you have private key for that BCH address the problem should be solved relatively easily by creating account here : https://www.omniwallet.org/ and then import BCH private key to get access to USDT.

If you send USDT to some exchange then you need to contact their support and hope they can help you.
14298  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Signing messages with multisig wallet? on: January 26, 2018, 02:29:54 PM
Hi,

I am trying to sign a message with a multisig wallet. Is it possible? I can't figure out how - whenever I paste an address into the address field, I get the error that it is not the right kind of address (for example it does not have a unique private key).

Using Electrum 2.9.3 because there is no easy way for me to run the latest 3.05 offline.

Thanks!

Fractality

Unfortunately there is no way(at least not some that I know) to sign message from Electrum 2FA wallet since there is 3 private keys and one is in possession of TrustedCoin. If you want to sign transaction you need legacy wallet/address which start with 1,and you can create one in existing Electrum wallet by using option File - New/Restore - Standard Wallet.

14299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Who can help me getting my Transaction confirmed? on: January 26, 2018, 12:11:57 PM
Hi I have this Transaction
https://blockchain.info/de/tx/4cee8bdfeef98a3c689b14215d7a37a8bed5625b3fd2262be69f4d22bc014da0

2 small transactions from november 2017 was included dunno why.
How do I get that transaction fully confirmed?
I tried to accelerator nur viabtc doesn't accelerate it.
Please I bought a birthday present and need that transaction confirmed.

Your transaction have 2 unconfirmed inputs : https://blockchain.info/de/address/1HDWKNqMADJJtSQvqWf2Ap1dDAhAnoqUhj

In order to get confirmations for your current transaction old transaction must be confirmed first,so it makes no sense to accelerate current transaction but old ones which have very low fee : https://blockchain.info/de/tx/b6bd52a5e9690eeed074df3fdbf8882bc7b40ba217f4c6bff7b3d8023dcdf688 & https://blockchain.info/de/tx/c9839eaf0c3d1e9036efe185594d41e7d52fe2c86fe9690972fabf8d7fb0210c and 3.661 sat/B is very low...
14300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: between baghodler and newhodler on: January 26, 2018, 11:47:28 AM
How can someone be in loss if he invest in BTC before one or more years and today price is above 10 000$?Any such investor has achieved a great profit, maybe some of them sell at 20 000$ and buy back when price is go down.

All people who buy above today price are technically speaking in loss, but only if they sell.If they keep their coins for some time they will probably profit on long term.It is wrong to think that price of BTC and all other altcoins can go only up,it can go in both ways.

Since altcoins are somehow tied with price of BTC, their price is also go down in times like this and this is something normal, far from being destroyed as you say.
