I just saw gox flicker down to 94.something yet my 95.2 buy still stands. Something screwy going on. I'll be glad when I'm out.
you have a bid at 95.2, but you want out?? I think you're doing it wrong....

you're doing it wrong, you have to trade in such a way to increase your bitcoin stach not your fiat stach. trust me, bitcoin is ultimate inflation hedge, it will increase in value as people find it useful and it will keep up with real inflation rates... if hyperinflation happens tomorrow, how long do you think it will take the market to adjust? -12hour, thats right, Negative 12hours! bitcoin baby ya!

Bitcoin is not a dead cat bounce, bitcoin is the bull of the century! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndshbH3qZ6Y <- take your gold to the shop and sell it ( burn gass, and get 50$ less then spot -_- ) , buy bitcoin its just better...

AWESOME! have a tea and cookie. feel right at home! EDIT: I think you're right with the projection. At least in principle (the timing might be off, not sure). What makes me think that? The huge orderbook. Let's discuss two options: 1.) we're going down: if the price tanks and there is another panic the bids will get filled and more bids will appear. People like rpietila who had their buying point set too low ($32-$50) for the last drop will get satisfied. That's much USD and it's even more BTC (compared to what happened above $50), so a lot of coins will change hands. (I sincerely hope they come from old-timers and traders, not people who got in above and sell at a loss). 2.) we're going up: if we go back to sustained rally mode the USD is going to chase the price up and many of the asks are going to be pulled or moved. I think 2.) will happen. Even if 1.) happens, 2.) will happen afterwards. Why do I think that: because bitcoin is fundamentally a good idea and people know it. The USD holders want in and the BTC holders really are just plagued by fear but want more BTC, too. Bold prediction: these are cheap coins right now and price wont stay at $90 for long. almost everyone will agree to " if 1.) happens, 2.) will happen afterwards " this is why its going to recover fast and, keep fucking going! ...I have a target set, I will be doing many parabolic moves upward in order to entice early adopters to sell their hoards... I start the rally, I get it going parabolic, then I complete stop supporting it, it comes crashing down, I buy in ( not too fast, gata milk it... ) and i do it again. i'll keep doing this till my target is reached. who am I? I am the market!

I joined awhile back, when Bitcoin was $5 and shortly before the (first?) bubble when it rose to $30 and then deflated back down. I promptly forgot about Bitcoin till I heard of this meteoric rise to $250.
Found my old wallet, and cashed out. That was a nice surprise.
But, after having read some of the recent threads here, the predictions and analysis, for those of you who've joined more recently, let me tell you this:
Apart from a bit more polish surrounding wallets (i.e. Blockchain.info), NOTHING - I mean NOTHING - has changed.
The same confused, disorganized agenda behind Bitcoin exists. There's been no coalescence of goals and idealogy behind Bitcoin to make it anything more than the faux-currency it was back then. Where are the businesses accepting bitcoin? Am I still relegated to buying drugs (Silk Road), some falafel at Mezze Grill, or some alpaca socks?
It's been nearly two years, and a pathetic level of progress. This is still the same motley crew of anarchists buying into the anti-establishment ideology, nerds who get their jollies from thinking they are a part of an emerging new "paradigm", and thieves manipulating and attacking the market.
Some of you may not have had the benefit of perspective, but I can tell you: this is still just a little casino, and nothing more.
DUMBASS!!!

I sold at ~25, and then i watched in awe! I still a good stash, so no regrets!

2011 post bubble was one disaster after the next, everyone had to keep reminding themselves what counts is the protocol wasnt hacked, and their was a gr8 deal FUD that bitcoin was only useful for dealing drugs, and it really was just a fad... This scared off a lot of people when bitcoin was still trying to get some reasonable critical mass going (needless to say it really HURT bitcoin)... This time everything is just F'in dandy, so we'll have a U shaped recovery and then continue making new highs, it will pop AGAIN ( at 500? ) and then another U shaped recovery and continue making new highs! thats right people the dash for digital cash get ready... set... GO!

It doesn't matter what you can buy, as long as there is something to buy. Drugs and porn are a good start.
Drugs and porn don't justify why the current price is so high...you could buy drugs and porn with btc a couple years ago. so i started making a list of thing you can buy with bitcoin, needless to say the list was extensive... so i deleted that, and all i'm going to say is if you throw enough bitcoins on the table, there's simply nothing you can't buy @evolve, if your so conviced bitcoin is going to go down, why not order some food tonight Foodler.com

Morning wall pic. (I almost couldn't find the "reply" button because it wasn't all squished over onto the side like in the last thread Wall at $90 is being devoured. And down! Surely there will be a correction soon, but I could see $100 being hit today easily. waking up to this, is almost better then morning sex.

This has been one wild week... I've been dealing with calls and emails nearly 24 hours a day. Managed to keep most of the panic sells between old and new clients and off the market.
So has the panic stopped? Are we going to see more upwards activity again? once its clear that it stopped going down.... ya! for sure.

sorry for all the confusion guys. i will not be deleting any posts here this is just the new thread because the old was was just too big.
|
|
|
ok so everything is back to normal!
You could unlock the other thread and let them compete for superiority! Rename the other one "lite wall observer thread" or something! I reckon "hardcore - walls only" I liked the new thread. The 8 inches of page 1000-1-1--234-401 of this thread is a little annoying. Pretty big ask wall at 78. will be interesting to see if that gets tested. Might have a nice run if that goes down. K now i know what to do.

Sorry for already making one removed post, Adam . As long as this mega-thread isn't affecting the forum performance, I don't see why it should be closed. I mean, yes, efficiency, less off-topicness, I get the idea - but I'd like to imagine everyone wants the Gox Wall Observer info to be in one thread only. Too confusing otherwise. OT. Going between $73-$75 so I suppose we'll see what a few hours brings us to. I have been getting requests to start a new thread, so i thought i'd do that, and enforce the rules to "keep it clean".... it made sense in my head, now i see that mostly all the posts are valid, and once in awhile we get some funny gifs and troll posting, but that keeps things interesting, and makes me laugh. ok so everything is back to normal!

hi, my name is adam

Tacos!!!!!!!!
Too random?
I bet 50 is the floor.
I bet the market is not comfortable being so close to the floor we'll be back in the 70's soon enough!
|
|
|
Don't you think we'll re-test the ~$50 price beforehand?
doubtfull, the 50$ floor is not imaginary. it all comes down to psychology sellers don't want to sell below 50$ buyers are happy to buy tons at 50$ ... RALLY!
