Zotac AMP! EXTREME GTX 1070 back in stock at Newegg. That's about as close to 1070 ti you can get without the GDDR5X nonsense Cheesy

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme, ZT-P10700B-10P, 8GB GDDR5 - $ 459.99

No way that motherboard is going to allow for good airflow with the GPU's in the slots. Ideally GPU's should be 1.5-2 inches apart for good airflow and cooling.

Interesting that they have the 19 PCI-E slots but specify that they support "up to 16" cards.

I do like the multi power supply connections, should make coordinating the multiple power supplys such a high GPU count rig would need trivial.

If I ever started building riser rigs, I'd likely go with this board JUST for that reason.

It's a typo it should say "supports up PCI-E x16 mode". It does have 19 PCI-E slots, 1 3.0 x16 slot and 18 3.0 x1 slots. Obviously only on Linux, since Windows is limited to 8 of each AMD + Nvidia. Only 90 day warranty according to Newegg.

Due to the changes AMD made starting with the 17.7.2 drivers, you need to use the latest Afterburner beta build, not the one listed on the main download page. Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16 works fine in Windows 10 with the AMD blokchain drivers.

The next Afterburner build that is released will have a lot of changes.

No it's not. Comparing the Bios BBT posted in the video to the original Bios, it looks like he just copied the original 1500 timings to the higher frequencies in both sets of straps. I also tried it with the PBE v1.6 'one click' straps, but the BBT Bios worked slightly better.
Oh sorry my bad. It was his another video where he has bios with that timing, I haven't looked at this one... Yeah that timing strap in PBE is not very good.

I wouldn't say the PBE v1.6 bundled straps aren't that good. For most of the cards I have they worked great. With the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB it gave me almost 31 MH/s and with the Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB I'm getting almost 30 MH/s. The others like my ASUS STRIX RX 480 8GB cards are over 29 MH/s. Probably not the best timings possible, but in most cases definitely better than just copying the original straps down.

Also just because someone shares a Bios made with publicly posted straps doesen't mean it's bad. As I remember, YOU were busted by Wolf0 for SELLING his straps which were NOT posted publicly.

sorry to interrupt is this also good using power color red devil rx570 4gb ? got some interest when seeing your hash 31MH/s would be much better
than what i'm getting right now, and keep reading from here is really giving me a lots of idea about doing some adjustment. if you can enlighten me
about this i would appreciate it much.

For the Powercolor Red Dragon RX 570 4 GB cards, the best result I got was with the BBT Bios (original 1500 MHz straps copied to the higher frequencies on both sets). With that Bios mod you can get up to 29.5 MH/s if you increase the memory to 2075 MHz, but like I said not all the cards can handle that without giving tons of memory errors, which will eventually cause the card to crash. 1975-2000 MHz is much more stable.
1446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on a laptop on: September 13, 2017, 04:55:36 PM
I'll save you the trouble of searching through the other 150 times this has been asked. The simple answer is for the small amount of Crypto you would be able to mine, it's just not worth it and you will very likely damage the laptop in the long run, which would negate the small amount coins you were able to mine. If you want a cheap rig, Goodwill or Craigslist has 100's of $50-$100 PC's that you can use for mining with a couple of cards. Way better and more effective than trying to mine with a laptop that isn't made to stay one 24/7, much less to mine with.

Well, I specifically said "It's not bad, but also not very good." and I also said: "But still it's better than copy 1500Mhz straps".
BTW: It was Eliovp timing strap. I paid for that timing elsewhere, didn't know it was his. The timing strap is publicly released.

OK, I remembered it was something about selling straps that weren't your own.

I have four of the same Powercolor Red Dragon RX 570 4 GB cards. I get 28.25-29.25 MH/s ETH and 730 - 745 MH/s dual mining DCR after flashing the Bios BBT posted in the description of the video he did for those cards. I'm using 1200 MHz core clcok and 1975-2075 MHz overclock for the memory in Afterburner with a -96 mV undervolt and -15% Power limit.  Great cards, only after using HWinfo to check for memory errors, I found not all cards can take 2075 MHz for the memory, so I have to use 1975 MHz. They also run hot when dual mining.

Well, it's not his. It's the same timing strap mentioned before. You also need to undervolt in bios if you want to use AB or use better utility. I will post link to new OverDrivenTool for blockchain drivers.

Afterburner 4.4.0 Beta 16 works fine in Windows 10 with the AMD blokchain drivers. While dual mining, HWinfo is showing 0.897 V core voltage and 103.8 W average with a -96 mV undervolt and -15% Power limit in Afterburner.

Yes, it should work with Linux. PBE will work under Linux using mono and there is also a Linux version of Atflash. Backup your original Bios before flashing the modded one.
1451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MSI Armor RX470 8GB Doesn't Act Right. on: September 13, 2017, 02:20:23 AM
It's normal for AMD cards right out of the box. You have to Bios mod them and find the best settings for the cards. Using the PolarisBiosEditor v1.6 'one-click timing patch' will automatically detect the memory type and apply the bundled performance straps. Then just save the Bios and flash it to the cards. With a Bios mod and 1200 MHz core clock and 1975 MHz overclock for the memory should get you to 28+ MH/s on ETH and 740 MH/s on XMR.

Have you set virtual memory to a mininmum of 16GB? Press the Windows-Logo + R Keyboard Shortcut and type sysdm.cpl to access the Advanced System Settings in Windows 10. Under Performance you can set the virtual memory size to at least 16 GB and rebbot for it to take effect.

380 H/s on XMR for a RX 580 is very low. It should be at least twice that.
1455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mod you RX570 4GB and overclock it on: September 09, 2017, 04:46:55 PM
The RX 570's are the three on the end. GPU5 is a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4GB and the other two are Powercolor Red Dragon RX 570 4GB cards. All three have dual straps with Hynix and Elpida memory.

1456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mod you RX570 4GB and overclock it on: September 09, 2017, 04:20:30 PM
You can also try the PolarisBiosEditor v1.6 'one-click timing patch' bundled performance straps. PBE v1.6 'one click timing patch' will apply the performance strap for each set of straps based on which memory type it detects. Then just save the Bios and flash it. Worked great for all my RX 570/580 cards and was better than just randomly copying straps.

Most Sapphire RX 570/580 cards have two sets of memory timings, each from a different brand. My Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB has Elpidia in the 1: set of timings and Hynix for the 2: timings. PBE v1.6 'one click timing patch' will apply the performance strap for each set of straps based on which memory type it detects.

I would try the PolarisBiosEditor v1.6 'one-click timing patch' bundled performance strap. I have a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB. With the PBE bundled strap, 1150 MHz core clock, 2050 MHz memory clock, -96 mV underclcok and -15% power limit in Afterburner -dcri 30 I get 29.8 MH/s ETH and 895 MH/s DCR dual mining with 125-145W shown in GPU-Z.

1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Conclusion Sapphire RX580 with Hynix are not that bad. on: September 09, 2017, 02:10:32 PM
That's the same Hynix performance strap used in PBE v1.6. The Sapphire RX 580 8 GB (blue faceplate) also has Samsung timings in the first set of straps. The PBE v1.6 'one click timing patch' option changes both sets of straps to the bundled performance timings (UberMix v3.1 for Samsung). You may also get a bump in the DCR hash by adjusting the -dcri from the default value of 26 to ~30 without affecting the ETH hash rate.

Gpu cards with 4GB gddr memory will be good forsome time, 5years at least

 Nope.

At recent DAG growth rate, the DAG file should exceed 4 GB somewhere in 2019.

DAG files only apply to ETH and it's offshoots like ETC - no other cryptocoin needs anywhere near that much GPU memory available.

Only for ETH, which should be POS only LONG before then and ETC. Lots of other Ethash coins like UBQ, MUSIC and EXP have a Dag file nowhere near 2GB, much less 4GB.
