One of the reasons I think is BCN's fuckup https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.msg7566944#msg7566944

They copy pasted some code from XMR and people lost coins due to them not implementing it properly so theres more confidence in the Monero Dev's.

Hashrate should smoothly go up as BCN miners move to XMR

Any confidence I ever had in Bytecoin is now negative, 0, zip, nada.

I hope not your whole portfolio  Cheesy

Lol Ixcoin is like the worst coin you can buy, it offers nothing, if anything its features are worst than bitcoins with its huge ass premine by the devs etc etc.

its been out for 3 years, with a Huge Huge premine by the devs, and absolutely no innovation...unless you wanna get mega dumped on by vlad with him owning more than 50% of all ixcoins, this coin isnt worth 1 satoshi.
1443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 28, 2014, 08:42:45 PM
I remember koolio bragging on btc-e about waiting until Litecoin hit $100 to buy a Lamborghini lol

Litecoin's all time high was $50, and then it retreated rather quickly to $30, then to $10, now its $8 and dropping 3% everyday.

To compare, even coins with a tiny bit of innovation have surpassed Litecoin, including absolute copy/paste coins like Maxcoin had an all time high of $40 and Auroracoin had an all time high of $90, almost twice Litecoin's ATH.
1444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 28, 2014, 08:35:54 PM
Is the Litecoin dev team ramping up to take on the challenge of a new modern crypto battlefield? If not, why not? Look at how much is at stake. LTC has the resources and I'm sure the talent is there.

What can we expect to see from LTC over the next few months?

We can expect nothing, as they've done nothing the almost 3 years since Litecoin has been out. The "dev team" isnt even active and there are hardly any updates done for Litecoin at all. Litecoin's been pretty much abandoned by the dev team..

Do you think all the devs have sold their LTC stakes? Could that be part of the reason for the abandonment? Lack of incentive?

Why isn't the LTC community banding together to recruit new devs? There is a lot of money at stake here!

I'm not sure if the devs sold their LTC stakes or not, but I know many many original LTC stakeholders that have sold off any LTC they had after the price dropped from $30 to $10 quickly.

Yea, the LTC community is extremely lacking...

Since this is the Monero thread I need some of you to talk some sense in to me. After seeing Vericoin I can't come up with a good reason to hold XMR when VRC is looking better in every aspect I can think of. Surely I'm missing something here and I'd like to be set straight if possible.

Does Monero have a GUI wallet yet btw? If not, timeline?

you must be joking right, vericoin is just the pump and dump of the moment, it offers nothing at long term, people going to vericoin now are like a moth to flame.

Ok so Vericoin isn't anon then? It's not implemented in the coin? It's just a concept?

If Vericoin offers nothing long term, what does Monero offer long term? I like Monero I just want to make sure I'm on the right page here and find out what is true and what is not.

Anon is not implemented in vericoin. It is "supposed" to use a coinjoin based anon feature, which is hardly anonymous as shown by the unraveling of sharecoin's(blockchain) coinjoin..and as said by gmaxwell, the maker of coinjoin. Coinjoin may be the worst "anonymous" feature you can have in a coin as you will always need two or more people to "mix" transactions, and even then it's fairly easy to find out the sender and reciever.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602041.0 <-----Vericoin's "anon feature" is not incorporated in its coin at this time. It's "anon feature" is also based off of Darkcoin's masternode/Darksend system as you can see. You should note that Darkcoin's masternode/darksend is closed source, and there has been many coins running to make a anonymous feature similar to Darkcoin's, such as Supercoins with it's Supernodes, XC with it's Xnodes, Vericoin with it's Veribit's and more.

Out of all the coins that use coinjoin for "anonymous" sending, Darkcoin's is the only one that has a decentralized and trustless system, XC's anonymous sending is trusted and you must rely on the fact that the Xnodes wont steal your coins, though they could. Supercoin's Supernodes are trusted as well and not even available atm(it's all just talk), and Vericoin's Veribit's are also trusted and not available atm(it's just all talk)

I really really suggest you do research Este Nuno, as you seem a bit clueless atm to be honest. 99% of those "anonymous" coins using coinjoin based Darkcoin anonymity are just pretending to do so so the dev's can make a quick buck, look at Libertycoin and HonorCoin for example, the devs ran off with a ton of Bitcoin after dumping it all on the exchange while they pretended to be making anonymous features for the coin, and worse. Vericoin, Supercoin, Pinkcoin, Orangecoin, Cloakcoin, Veilcoin, etc are all essentially copying/pretending to copy Darkcoin's masternodes/darksend in an attempt to make a quick buck off dull-witted buyers.

Vericoin doesnt even have any anon features...its all just "fancy" whitepaper...not to mention its a 100% clone of blackcoin.

1448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge game over? on: June 28, 2014, 06:26:21 PM
Bitcoin is useless for investing in...from an investors perspective.

I wouldn't say bitcoin is useless for investing. With so many user around the world and large corporations showing interest, it is the safest crypto for investment. Altcoins offer explosive profits but successful alts are few and far between. You may get 10x gains from one alt while you write off investment for 10 others.

It's the safest, but investors who actually want to make money don't opt for the safest. Safe investments are for those who want to make a moderate income monthly/yearly without having to worry about their investment crashing etc.

That's why you do Research for any alt you invest in.

Warning: 800k IXC left.

 Grin

Yea, 99% of this coin has been mined AND premined by its "dev" vlad2vlad.

Lame ass shit of a coin.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge game over? on: June 28, 2014, 06:19:13 PM
Now with all those shitcoins, it looks like nobody cares about Doge, at least they are not interested to pay a lot of money for Doge, and this will happen with Darkcoin too, as the hype will move away to another new coin. So basically there will only be one coin that is worth investing and that is BTC

BTC is not worth investing in truthfully.

Even if you bought 500 Bitcoin at $500 and Bitcoin were to reach $1,000 in the next 6 months(which is very unlikely without Mr trading bot willy), you'd only have make double your investment...

In Altcoins you can put in $100, and then the coin goes up 50x within the next 2 months, and youve made $5,000 off that original $100 investment..

Bitcoin is useless for investing in...from an investors perspective.

Ok, removed premine designation from BCN.

You disappoint me, Gliss. Everyone with half a braincell more than that fat French fuck know that Bytecoin was unacceptably mined:

http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins#bytecoin
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins#bytecoin1

We can debate the nuances of the term "premine" all we want, but either you need to copy what CoinGeck are doing and not list Bytecoin entirely, or it needs a flag of some sort to indicate to new investors the danger inherent in taking the information on your site at face value.

pls make the blochain faster im fedup of waiting 100 confirmations i fought bittcon woz supposed to be instant im waiting half a day to convert them to doggiecoin

Who is asking for 100 confirmations from u ? 6 confirmations are enough for a 1000 BTC transaction.

He's a troll. Look at his obvious troll spelling/grammar/punctuation...

And most of his all, LOOK AT HIS NAME.  Roll Eyes
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: June 28, 2014, 05:00:13 PM
I lost some money on LTC and got rid of it . Invested in other currencies and was able to make profit.

Litecoin is like Dogecoin, they both lost more than 80% of their values within a short time period, and have non existent buy support.

I didn't realise that will happen I bought LTC but I got out at right moment and saved my ass Grin

Yea, seems like you got out in the nick of time, Litecoin's been going down an average 3% Daily.

Already down 2% today.

To recap, it was .0017 last week, now it's .0015, 1 month ago it was .0024.

Wdc is a much better alternative.  More marketable as well.

Hmmm, any coin at this point that offers 1 thing over Bitcoin and has a active dev team is better than Litecoin.

Spread the truth ! You are doing a good thing !

XC is a wannabe copy of Darkcoin, with it's name Xcoin, being the former name of Darkcoin, it's Xnodes(copy of Darkcoin's masternodes) stealing user's coins since they are trusted and centralized, and it's Xsend(copy of Darkcoin's Darksend) not even working.

That's all that needs to be said for this scamcoin..

Your right, I hacked into evan's pc, stole his code and did a copy/paste and released it!!!!

Darkcoin's algo is open sourced, you simply cloned Darkcoin's codebase...

And you made a half arsed attempt at replicating Darksend and Masternodes.

Except your Xsend/Xnodes steal users coins and dont even work. It's Laughable. TRUE!

I hope this helps: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=define+research

I hope this also helps http://lmgtfy.com/?q=XC+is+a+scam

Tons of thread showing how XC is a scam...

Thanks it did

Glad to see that.

shame on drk with such immoral community

I am not a darkcoin fanboy/with darkcoin community. Read my post history...

However, I am even 10x more against XC than DRK.

XC is a plan copy off of Darkcoin and its a disgrace....it doesnt even copy right since its xnodes?anonymity dont function.
