I've started to see what Darkcoin is all about now. It never meant to be for every one Worldwide currency like I thought when I invested in this coin; it's a good coin but it's downfall is it's distribution + community hates negative comments about this coin and ignore you without really debating with you. Also this mess with Mintpal biggest Darkcoin exchange took out volume and it's like scattered everywhere some went to Bitfinex others to Cryptsy or Bittrex it's sad really.
Bring a vaguely thought out point to debate, we'll debate. It's difficult to have an intelligent conversation with idiots. Not a single thing you just posted makes any sense whatsoever.

Well, looks like ebolajax is on day release again. Must be hell for him in his cell, little brain full of DRK thoughts all day long, only gets access to the ward computer if he takes all his meds like a good boy, and doesn't soil himself too often.

Peoples only do talk. Talk, and talk again.
Price is down, down, down.
Darkcoin go to 0,0000001 sat.
Please see this now...
The price is down a bit but I can't see the panic? Whats the matter with you people! Just pour yourself a scotch and chillax. One finger of whiskey would kill these nancies.

No one just dumps 9k without a reason. Someone knows something. If a dev team member knows something and doesn't share it but trades then it is considered insider trading which might not be illegal for crypto but it is unethical and damages the reputation when it surfaces. Just a kind reminder This isn't the croak thread.

Damn I'm undervolting my rigs like a c*nt just to stay in the game... I'm reduced now to playing around with Mobo voltages, to shave that extra 20 watts off per rig... This is fun, I'm getting my nerd on... Please do post settings/results and tips, power is expensive all around the world you know We need some way of attaching GPUs to a Raspberry Pi. 20 at a time. Hells Yeah! Each rig is 170-ish watts before you look at GPU's... I've heard of some funky PCIe adaptors that allow you to run stacks of cards per rig, perhaps it's time to start looking them up... 170W? Have you got i7's and multiple terabyte HD's in there? My cheapest-available-Celeron, Asus H61 and BAMT on a USB stick rigs all pull about 96W idle, and 460ish with 5 270's running. edit: a brief perusal of the intertubes seems to indicate that you can't connect anything PCI/PCIe to a Pi, they only have a USB bus. You can however attach FPGA's... if such a mythical beast for X11 is ever proven to exist. A mate who is getting DRK from this chap, http://ltcgear.com/product/dual-mod-m10/?apage=254, is convinced it's FPGA's, but hey, it could be a farm of GPU's. AMD FX4130 + HDD, think I should under-clock it? I'm too scared to go PiMP or BAMT... Just ditch the HDD, both PIMP and BAMT are dirt simple, personally I prefer BAMT as it's even dirt-simpler than PIMP. 20W saved right there, more if you've got Win running off the drive with hundreds of vampire processes you can't turn off.

what's the ROI of running a masternode? Might be interested.
Around 23% a year if the price remains the same; higher if it goes up, lower if it goes down. However there will be a gradual increase of MN payments at the expense of miners so the ROI is likely to go up. If MN numbers increase with increased MN block reward, profitability will stay the same. Still, ~20% after costs is pretty damn good.

Just an idea, but would it not be possible to establish a peer-to-peer exchange infrastructure ? Without some central exchange as it's now the case ?
Maybe use the MNs in the process as place to match orders for specific pairs ?
Something similar to OpenBazaar but for Crypto pairs.
Bitcoindark will do that. The released library should be added to DRK. Would enhance all sides. Most blockchain based technology (not just currency) has the ability to have that functionality. Bitcoin itself included. I think Andreas Antonopoulos mentioned how it would work for most blockchain based coins in his presentation to a Canadian Senate Committee. I need to watch that. I've got a basic working p2peer market that uses a DHT, but security is a hard problem (for me, I'm a noddy) with my model - I can think of a dozen ways a bad peer could bugger things up, kind of like bad torrent files etc. Evan solved this problem (or a similar one anyway) largely economically with the MN network, I'm still trying to come up with something viable...

Yeah I had a bunch deleted recently too, yet racism and homophobia are perfectly fine apparently, they should change the message you get -
"Your post was deleted due to insufficient hate, poison and bigotry. Try not to let this happen again!"

Also, Zerocoin won't scale. Quantum computers will deanonymize its whole blockchain. Darkcoin uses off-chain mixing, so it's not an issue for DRK, DarkSend anonymization is future-proof. How long it takes until that happens? It could be next year, it could take 20 years, or they could already exist but we don't know it. More about limitations of Zerocoin: The first reason is performance. Redeeming zerocoins requires double-discrete-logarithm proofs of knowledge, which have size that exceeds 45 kB and require 450 ms to verify (at the 128-bit security level). These proofs must be broadcas through the network, verified by every node, and permanently stored in the ledger. The entailed costs are higher, by orders of magnitude, than those in Bitcoin and can seriously tax a Bitcoin network operating at normal scale.
The second reason is functionality. While Zerocoin constitutes a basic e-cash scheme, it lacks critical features required of full-fledged anonymous payments. First, Zerocoin uses coins of fixed denomination: it does not support payments of exact values, nor does it provide a means to make change following a transaction (i.e., divide coins). Second, Zerocoin has no mechanism for one user to pay another one directly in “zerocoins.”
And third, while Zerocoin provides anonymity by unlinking a payment transaction from its origin address, it does not hide the amount or other metadata about transactions occurring on the network.
Metadata? This word should not even exist in the context of anonymous currency. Zerocoin looks like a misguided academic project at best.

A simple question: why Zerocoin is worse than Darkcoin?
It doesn't exist? It does. Look at ANC. Anoncoin proposes to use zerocoin/zerocash if it ever gets released. It hasn't been yet AFAIK. Plus it's a non-starter in many respects anyway, quite apart from the newfangled, untried and untested cryptography, for example check these gems out from the zerocoin website: "there are promising techniques for preventing money laundering without violating the privacy of legitimate users (e.g., CHL06). Roughly, the idea is to build the cryptographic protocol so that, once the total amount paid between any two users (over any number of payments) exceeds some public threshold, the payments are not private." "More generally, the underlying zk-SNARK cryptographic proof machinery is flexible enough to enforce a wide range of policies. It can, for example, let users prove that they paid the taxes due on all transactions, without revealing those transactions, their amounts, or even the amount of taxes paid. As long as the policy can be specified by efficient “nondeterministic” computation, it can (in principle) be enforced using zk-SNARKs and added to Zerocash. This can help to verify and enforce a wide range of compliance and regulatory policies in manner that is non-invasive to privacy. Morever, once codified, policies will be enforced even in the presence of corrupt employees among the authorities." source: http://zerocoin.org/q_and_aOnly anonymous if they let you be anonymous, centralised control and enforcement. I couldn't decide which parts of the above paragraphs to bold, it was all equally repugnant. No fucking thanks.

Mintpal was a tool for insider trading and the botrape of its customers. Like all the other unregulated centralised exchanges. Banditry with a pretty UI is still banditry. Good riddance.
p2p exchanges will dominate within 12 months, the current pack of crooks will not be missed.

*********** Amber Alert ************
I've come to the conclusion that the world economy actually exists to support the banking system ... Basically we're f*ckd. ... They never solved the 2008 financial crisis ... I'm sorry, Darkcoin's competitors are screwed ... they've got too little too late plus they've picked the wrong design ... Darkcoin is IT or nothing.
Some excellent analysis there... We just need the world banking system to hold on for another year or two, I think we are 12 months away from having the right fundamentals in place for Crypto to start replace existing debt based ecosystems... Agreed, although I would have gone with, "The people who know how bad it really is have all either killed themselves, been killed to stop them telling anyone else, or are buying DRK and ammo," instead of "Amber Alert."

my grandchildren will be able to see someday DRK price above 0,015 ? The price of all my DRK is already 1000X higher than that.

why should the OTC
Indeed. But then, why not, eh?

Yes sure for the penetration we need the big piece..

Auction them. We need dev funding, bounties, we need to get shit done, and it costs money.
