But once he got out, it was all over for Sri Lanka. Dushmantha Chameera and Maheesh Theekshana are at the crease now, but it looks unlikely that they will get past 150. And in that case it may take less than 20 overs for the Kiwis to chase the target, which can take their net run rate to formidable levels. And all this is bad news for Pakistan. OK.. so it is going to be really difficult for Pakistan to qualify for the semi-finals. Sri Lanka is struggling at 105/7. This means that New Zealand will walk away with 2 points from this match and will get a significant boost in their net run rate. Now Pakistan needs a similar win in their match against England, which is going to be extremely difficult. Also, remember that Pakistan's NRR (+0.036) is much lower than that of New Zealand (+0.398) at this moment. So it is almost impossible for Pakistan to qualify. Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva are trying to stabilize the innings after being ripped through by Trent Boult. And theirs is the last recognized batting pair for Sri Lanka. So far they looked comfortable against the spinners, as well as against Lockie Ferguson. Perhaps the New Zealand captain can get a few more overs from Boult, but it is going to be a risky strategy. Also, the wayward Tim Southee needs to be called in at some point. Who would have thought New Zealand could lose a match after scoring 400 runs, not many saw DLS coming and playing a big part there. We saw what Maxi achieved recently and the win predictor was 98% in favor of Afghanistan so strange things happen sometimes.
Well.. they lost the match due to technical reasons. DLS system needs to be reviewed. Pakistan scored 200/1 after 25.3 overs, and therefore they were declared as the winners. But what is the guarantee that Pakistan would have scored another 202 runs in the next 24.3 overs? That is close to 9 runs per over. DLS system in this case assumes that all the Pakistan batsmen will bat like Fakhar Zaman and will score at strike rate of 150-160. I don't think that it is the case and the Kiwis were just one wicket away from the win. |

I am not sure about this. From what I heard, Mohammed Salah turned down a contract with Al Hilal a few months back? From what I heard, he was offered more than what Ronaldo is getting now, and still he was not interested. Now what happened all of a sudden? Is this news confirmed? Anyway they need him badly now. Neymar has been ruled out of this season after a lot of theatrics. Aleksandar Mitrović and Malcom are performing well, but they need someone like Salah to boost the attack.

As long as there is a choice to bet gamblers will find ways to jump-in. Since I personally don't have any idea who's running there in he US then there is no reason for me to give it a try too risky for me. On the other hand, the local BSK elections here in my place has just ended a week ago and a lot of my friends won for more or less a $1,000 that time. I did not place my bet because I have some priorities with my money. 😁
Yeah.. here in India also, general elections are due in around 5-6 months from now. A lot of us will be placing our bets on the election outcome. But that said, US elections are important around the world. Last time also, in 2020 I made a few bets (and lost a lot of my money). I will be placing bets for 2024 as well, but I have a feeling that now it is a bit too early to do that. I will place my bets 1-2 months before the election date. There are too many uncertainties at this point, including Biden's health, Trump's trial and Kennedy's candidacy. |

Not only today's game is important for New Zealand and Pakistan but for Sri Lanka also. Sri Lanka is currently at number 9th position and if they lose today's game then they will also be eliminated from Champions trophy to be held in 2025. Pakistan can only qualify for next round if Sri Lanka win today's game otherwise it will be difficult for Pakistan to qualify for next round.
Although Pakistan's performance is not up to the mark, I would say that at this point they are a much better team when compared to Sri Lanka. Without Hasaranga, Sri Lanka is a shit team. Even the addition of Angelo Mathews hasn't helped them. Out of the three teams in contention for the semi-final slot as the 4th placed team (Pakistan, Afghanistan and New Zealand), I would say that Pakistan has the maximum probability. England team won the match by 160 runs. England team played very well and made 339 runs in 50 overs with fall of 9 wickets but Netherland team could make only 179 runs . Ben Stokes is announced as player of the match who played magnificent inning of 108 runs in 84 balls , David Malan was run out by making 87 runs in 74 balls and Woakes made 51 runs in 45 balls. No player played well from Netherland side. Bas de leede took 3 wickets but he gave 74 runs in 10 overs . Moen Ali and Adil Rashid took 3-3 wickets .Moen Ali gave 42 runs in 8.2 overs and Adil Rashid gave 54 runs in 8 overs . David Willey did excellent bowling and took 2 wickets by giving only 19 runs in 7 overs.
This match didn't did anything good for both the teams. For England, it is still not clear whether they will be able to qualify for the champions trophy in 2025. And after losing so many matches early on, a consolation win against Netherlands is not going to bring any joy for them. For Netherlands, this is their 4th defeat in the last 5 matches and they have only one match (against India) remaining now. If they had won one more match, then it was possible for them to qualify for the Champions trophy in 2025. Now they need to defeat India, in order to do so. |

I Have seen some political news which tend to lean on the left politics to slighting freak out in front of the camera because the lead Trump is having in critical swing states, as far as I have seen Trump has a lead in almost all the subjects people were interviewed about: inmigration policies, economy, management of the war in the middle east, etc. The only topic where Biden defeated Trump was on the abortion rights of women, but in my opinion, the fact Trump has been able to score positively in all the rest of the subjects the American people is concerned about tell me that there is very real chance Trump could be back into the White house in 2024.
I would have not expected to see people from swing states to favor Trump over Biden, to be honest, the USA economical situation seemed to be going good. Millions of people crossing the southern border illegally seems to have spooked a large number of American voters, especially in swing states such as Nevada and Arizona. These are some of the states where Trump is now leading (as per the opinion polls) with the largest margins. Abortion was one of the most important issues in 2022, and that was the reason why the GOP lost a lot of white women voters during midterms. But it's importance has gone down in recent times. Other policies are much below on the priority list for voters. |

Netherlands team lost their important wickets so win is not possible at the moment. England team will definitely win today's match by a huge margin, but unfortunately they will not be able to qualify for the World Cup. Moreover, today's match was batted well from the start to the end, England scored 339 runs due to the departure of the team. And they are continuing the bowling performance nicely and at the moment England bowlers are bowling dynamically due to which Netherlands lost 8 wickets. Having lost important wickets, Netherlands are now on the verge of losing the match, still they need to score a lot of runs to win the match. And I think today's match Netherlands will not be able to meet this target and will lose with England by a huge margin.
The Dutch needs some serious introspection. They qualified to this tournament by fluke, by overtaking another associate nation (Scotland) by sheer luck. They did well by winning matches against South Africa and Bangladesh. But the last few matches have been horrendous for them. And there is simply no excuse for what happened today. Netherlands seems to have run out of steam. Even during today's match they were in such a controlling position. When Moeen Ali got out, they were at 192/6. Ideally the Dutch captain should have brought in his attacking bowlers such as Paul van Meekeren and Logan van Beek. On the other hand, he persisted with useless part-timers such as Colin Ackermann and in the end Ben Stokes was able to build a good partnership for the 7th wicket along with Chris Woakes. Even then they should have restricted England to 280-290. But the Dutch bowlers simply went crazy during the depth overs.

If there's someone hate Ronaldo because he was just taking a break for few matches, it's really unbelievable. The guy who should be hated is Neymar, he's intentionally skipped Al Hilal's match and play for his national team. Now he's out from a season and still get paid for it lol.
How he's going to get paid? He is out due to injury. So unless he has a good insurance package against injury, he's not going to get anything from his club. And this guy has been behaving very arrogantly ever since he landed in Saudi Arabia. He should not forget the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are paid more than him, and they are playing for their respective clubs without much drama. Inexperienced teams are finding it hard to win against experienced sides. Yesterday Afghanistan had Australia down to 91/7, but then Maxwell and Cummins took them to 293/7. And today Netherlands had England at 192/6. But then Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes took them to 339/9. It is a torture to watch the Dutch batting. Last time they had 5 of their batsmen runout in a single innings. And today also they started the same trend with a needless runout of Wesley Barresi. If they waste these chances, then they don't have any right to ask for more matches against full member nations.

Catches win matches! Afghanistan played so freaking well throughout the match until they dropped Maxwell when he was in 20s which was an easy one and 30s which was extremely easy by Mujeeb.
They could have ended Australia within 120-130, but played like amateurs towards the end. Maxwell delivered a legendary performance and helped his team qualify for the semi-finals.
The dropped catch by Mujeeb was a very easy chance. And it probably cost Afghanistan the match. Even now Afghanistan has a remote chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, but it is much more difficult given their poor net run rate when compared to New Zealand and Pakistan. Also, their next match is going to be against one of the strongest teams (South Africa). On the other hand, both New Zealand and Pakistan have relatively weaker opponents (Sri Lanka and England respectively). So it is mainly going to be between NZ and Pakistan, on who will qualify as the 4th team. |

Cricket is a round ball game so just as ten good balls are enough to turn the game, a good innings by one batsman is enough to turn the game. Afghanistan bowled seven good balls but one of Australia's batsmen did well and the win went in Australia's favor. Afghanistan first took 7 wickets for 89 runs and at that time Afghanistan deserved the win but some mistakes by Afghanistan cricketers made the match slip away from them. Maybe the Afghan cricketers should ask how many catches a batsman misses makes him play better because the way they took Maxwell's catch looks like they haven't practiced fielding before. Several times when they caught Maxwell they did not catch but they threw the match away. Just good bowling and batting is not enough to win a match but good fielding is enough which Afghanistan could not do. These sort of mistakes are going to be very costly for Afghanistan. Already they are dealing with the issue of freezing of funds after the Taliban takeover. A win against Australia would have been earth-shattering at this point. But they wasted a really good opportunity yesterday. Anyway, now we are set for an exciting semifinal match between Australia and South Africa. Given the recent form of both the teams, I would say that Australia has a better chance of win. BTW, India needs to wait for some more time, to find out who will be their opponents in the semi-finals. |

Though Cristiano Ronaldo is a type of player who does not want to miss any match if he can play, he and his coach must be realistic that he is already 38-years old. To avoid injuries and more important serious injuries that can destroy his career suddenly as well as to help him have better contributions for Al Nassr in a long season, he must know when to take a rest and his coach can help him to take rest in unimportant matches.
At this age, being able to play at highest level like he is doing is already very barely seen but he needs more careful and good plan to diversify his energy through a season. Al Nassr has many attacking star players and they can give Cristiano time to rest and recharge energy.
Well.. his team doesn't need him in a match against a weak side such as Al Duhail. Anyway, they have a few other good forwards such as Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozović and Talisca. Also this will give an opportunity for the coach (Luís Castro) to measure the strength of his side in the absence of Ronaldo. That said, I am not sure whether the owners of the Saudi Professional League will be happy with this decision. Call me crazy but I think Netherlands will squeek out a win tomorrow vs England  No surprise here as Netherlands have already beaten South Africa. If Netherlands can beat England in today's game then England will drop down in the ICC ODI rankings as they are at the bottom of the points table. Netherlands will play well against England and if Netherlands can do this contest like South Africa, Bangladesh match then Netherlands can win. When a lot of people consider Netherlands as favorites in their game against England, it tells a lot about the current form of English players. And it won't be very surprising, if they end up at the rock bottom of the points table. But the Dutch also need to do a lot of hard-work. So far they have won just 2 out of their 7 matches and wasted good opportunities to win against weak nations such as Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Their bowlers continue to leak runs towards the end of the innings and they need to devise a strategy to prevent it. |
